Chapter 4

…I think I underestimated just how well the manga would sell in here.

At this point in time, it was the new years, my 14th year since my rebirth, my only real goal at the moment is to become so filthy rich, anything I wish to do in this life will be an option.

Be it from a policeman, a doctor, a truck driver, to a movie director, a farmer, and even a newly come mafia man if I wanted.

I had gone into the trouble to dress myself up as an older gentlemen, found a publisher to sell my manga, negotiated with the prices, and awaited for the results.

Considering the fact I just wanted the fact that there is a good manga out there to be just that, a fact, I wasn't exactly doing it for the money, I allowed the guy who took a risk with me, a complete stranger, to take 70% of the cash, though I made it clear that this is just a start out deal, any future mangas will not have this amount of generosity in the deals.

…and over the course of first year when I was eleven, I managed to occumalate well over a million yen in the bank account.

Words could not describe the feeling I felt when I saw this, it wasn't even that hard, sure he hard to extensively train with artistic skills to be able to draw a manga like Akame ga Kill in great quality, but this…

Do I even need my clone in the USA to invest? Well it's not like I'm just gonna cancel it now, not gonna say no to free money considering I'm aware of the stock market, besides the money I provided, it would be foolish to dismantle the plan I spent time and resource into proceeding.

According to the call I got from the publisher, he was extremely happy, and even if the percentage of the money he would get would be 15% he would be honored to work with someone with my skill.

It felt a little uncomfortable with taking the praise, he still felt proud, he did indeed pour skill after skill to make the book series, it was just the plot wasn't something he thought up.

Now he wasn't exactly sure what he was gonna do, he was gonna do the Charlotte manga series next, though considering it was rather unknown to a lot of the people, it might not do so well, in the end, he decided to go through with it.

The third one he will go with Death Note, as that was a rather famous dark manga that became popular with many people.

The future fourth series though he might just pick a series with a female lead, he already had two series with edgy teen boys as protagonists, he would rather not have a reputation on making those guys only.

As for the other things in life that occured? Well a growth spurt for one, he decided ti keep his hair long, in a pony tail, so he was getting strange looks at times, as for his height? Well he towered over every other child his age.

In his old life he was 6'6 feet tall, and with the way he was growing…he suspected he was gonna meet that height again, more or less.

He had tens of millions of yen now,…not that he mentioned it to anyone, the orphanage makes a decent shelter, especially with the anonymous donator donating a good million yen every year to it.

The people are the same, in fact he would say it is a little worse with the staring, considering I'm mostly a giant here, with long white hair.

Training my body is as good as it gets at the moment, my sets are in the hundreds, which just tells me that my assassin body is showing.

He had finally had enough with dumpster diving, he managed to find some parts, but they were clearly not enough, so I just sucked it up and bought myself a computer.

It wasn't long where I just completely dismantled the thing and built myself an actual computer, or more accurately a laptop.

He mainly needed a computer to do an actual coding, he could do shit without one, he can make a computer chip, but if there is no coding within, it has little uses.

And just in the matter of days, he managed to create a laptop, which he modeled after a Lenovo, that he had in his previous life.

He had an idea when making a computer and seeing the success of the manga, simply put, make an AI, and let it do the drawing for me.

All I would have to do is provide the drawing of the character at all sides, and the program will redraw it whenever it comes up in the story.

So instead of doing everything myself, all I would have to do is provide the original and the script of the story, while seeing things like Naruto and God Damn One Piece,…this was a must.

…in fact he can probably make something similar in the future for animation as well, imagine making Demon Slayer with all the animation but the AI can make an episode per day.

All of the sudden, the door to my room that was shared with other orphans burst open. Saitou was sweating and heaving out air over there, probably running over here as fast as possible.

And thrusted the Death Note manga into my face, "WHAT IS THIS?!", blinking in confusion, I looked at the page he was pointing at, to see Misa…committing her final act.

I looked up at him and raised an eyebrow, "you didn't see that coming? I admit it wasn't an entirely obvious twist, but it fit within the theme,".

"HOW COULD YOU KILL HER OFF LIKE THAT," tears streaming down the face of a fourteen year old, I could feel a Sweat drop forming at the back of my head.

I sighted at this, ever since he discovered my Akame ga Kill recreation, as in my original drawings, he never stopped bugging me whenever a cute girl I drew died in the paper.

We still had a good friendship going, often going around the city to hang out, but it was kinda strange that my best friend was bascually ny biggest fan of the manga series.

He only acts like this in the manga I draw and all other times is his normal self talking about actors, singers, and especially Idols.

"That's it, it is clear you need help!FROM NOW ON I SHALL SUPERMANAGE ALL MANGA YOU MAKE!," he proclaimed. I could swear I saw golden stars shine in his eyes, I believe I was hallucinating when I saw shark teeth.

"What? Fuck no, HEY, GET OFF ME!"

"NEVER! NOT UNTIL YOU LEARN THAT KILLING OFF CUTE CHARACTERS IS NOT THE WAY!"

"THEN STOP GETTING SO EMOTIONALLY ATTACHED TO A PIECE OF PAPER!".

It is times like these that I actually wanted to hurt him emotionally with a depressing anime. I heard one that came out called Oshi no Ko, had a devastating ending to its first episode, which after reviewing my memories seemed connected to a minute of shorts of a purple haired woman getting stabbed.

Shame I didn't actually get to watch it though, it was on my ti do list, but the world had issues with me and committed murder on me.

*An Hour Later*

Finally, after one of the caretakers got tired of Ichigo's screaming, she kicked his ass and threw him off the property…well not literally, but she might as well have with how fast the blonde was sweating.

I was currently in the diner room, with a guitar summoned a year ago, everyone assumed I bought it with my money that I seemingly never used.

Occasionally I played songs on it, part of it because I can and it felt amazing to actually play an instrument in whatever way I want with mastery…and the fact I find it amusing when I see the younger orphans hiding in the corner watching me play.

Going through several anime intros and outros, American guitar music, and at one point, after his voice finally went through puberty, he sang Sixteen Tons, Geoff style.

The way all the caretakers, all the orphans, kids to the teens just froze at that was one of the best experiences in his life.

At the present time, one of the teens my age, came up to me with a stoic expression, he called out to me, "Kirai, one of the old ladies wants you in an hour or so to clean up the bedrooms,".

Hm? My turn this month I guess, it was something the caretakers implemented to lessen the workload, simply to have one of the older kids do it on a turn order.

"The floor dirty?"

"Not that I am aware of, not that I would be surprised,"

"Alright then".

With that the boy left to the door outside, the conversation ended while civil, he left as quickly as he could, most of the kids sort of have a group that they hang out with, and from what I gathered, the kids don't want others to think of them as different when hanging out with me and simply finish what business they have with me and leave.

Throwing a grape into my mouth, I watched the window outside, as the snow slowly fell down the sky. My mind wondered when I unconsciously heard the door open out of the diner room, the main door to the orphanage.

Tearing my eyes away from the outside, I saw two of the caretakers walking and writing stuff down on a paper before going into a seperate room I recognized was an office that they used to store records, while a small girl silently sat on a bench with her head down.

I saw her look up to the door, I noticed that there were several kids, around 6 that were listening in on whatever the caretakers were talking about.

They then gasped, and looked over to the girl that sat on the bench, and whispered to one another, though not too quietly, surely not enough for the girl to not overhear.

Though a normal person at my position wouldn't have heard, I strained my hearing and managed to catch a few of their words, "-stay away from her, her mama is a criminal that only steals, she was even sent to prison,".

…well then, either the mother didn't care for the child, or she didn't have a choice but to steal,…though it seems I was correct in the fact the girl can hear them, considering that after they said that she tried to make herself smaller after the kids ran off.

Taking a closer look at her, I blinked in surprise when the purple haired haired girl seemed to have black stars in her eyes, her legs were up to her chest as she hugged them, her expression miserable and gloomy.

…I honestly didn't like that expression, not on the face of what I assume to be a 4 year old, she was certainly younger than the three six year olds that lived here.

I didn't want to make her uncomfortable if I approached her, and I wasn't sure how she would react if I simply called her from a distance,…so I decided to try and catch her attention.

Utilizing my Essence of Music, I filled the song that I was going to play on the guitar, with feelings of intrigue, to catch her attention.

(Dream Lantern - 夢灯籠 - (Your Name OST) - Fingerstyle Guitar Cover by Edward Ong)

Slowly I started the song, and just as intended, I saw her look in my direction, though I made sure to hide the fact I knew she was watching, no need to scare her off.

At the first minute, all she did was watch me as I played,..until curiosity won her over, as she slowly tried, key word tried, to come over silently, in hiding behind the door.

Usually the song is only around 2 minutes long, though I made it an extension of seven, to actually give her time to come over, at this point she was hiding behind the door to the diner, as she watched the song that I was glad she liked enough to risk coming over.

At the end of the song, her expression dropped, before she jolted when I called out, "did you like it," I softly said, looking at her.

She froze at my question, before nodding slowly, I put a leg over my other leg and asked, "what's you name? I'm Kirai,".

She looked confused, probably at my name, she didn't answer me for seconds before responding quietly, "A-Ai,".

Raising an eyebrow, I couldn't help but find irony for my situation.

Hate comforted Love

I gave a small smirk, "wanna hear another song?".

Her eyes glazed over, and in a minute she nodded as her shoulders lost the tensions they had.

At her confirmation, I played several other songs, until she eventually had the courage to sit next to me as I played.
