Chapter 4
"Just this afternoon, a huge body of water flooded the streets of Tokyo. Had there not been a conveniently deep construction hole that was dug nearby, there could have been a major disaster. No one knows where the water came from. Experts are baffled at this event."
I turn off the TV.
Just a few hours ago, I learned the hard way that Aqua was actually the Goddess of Water.
Not fun.
After that event, I decided to return home with my possessions, to which I put them on my figurine shelf.
And of course, Aqua was with me. I'd rather her not destroy all of Tokyo.
Currently, Aqua was in my shower.
Had it been any other girl, on any other day, I would be jumping with excitement.
However, my mind was still trying to understand everything.
Gods and goddesses were real.
Magic was real.
...And Tokyo was nearly flooded.
"You have a good bathroom, Japanese guy."
Aqua appeared. She was wearing my shirt, with big red words Sugoi dekai written on it, and a black skirt that I dug out of my closet. (Don't ask.) I hanged her outfit to dry, panties not included.
"In fact, you have a really big house all to yourself! Show me around, I've only seen your bathroom and your room!"
My house is truly big. Two floors, Two bedrooms, a big living room, a massive kitchen, and a grand bathroom. And I own it.
I still remember when I won this house a year ago in an online poker competition. It was against this rich guy who was so confident, he put this house on the line.
Well, I have never lost a game of poker. My luck is unbeatable.
After I won, I didn't really think he would actually give me the house. But a few days later, a letter came in my mail, and in it was this house's address, keys, and deeds.
It came at the perfect time, as I just had a massive fight with my parents.
And so, I moved out.
They still send a daily allowance, to pay for my daily living expenses, but that's about it. I myself have savings from online competitions and selling some of my online gaming accounts.
After showing Aqua the house, we went back to my room.
"Wow, your house is reeeaally empty! Why do you have almost nothing in any of your other rooms?"
"Well I never use the other rooms, so why should I?"
"And your room is a mess! Look at this!"
"What? No it isn't."
"Then what is those stupid things on the wall? And why are there tiny humans on your shelves? They looks so creepy!"
This ticked me off a little bit.
"Those things on the walls are anime posters, and they are cool! And don't you dare call my figurines creepy! They are my most prized possessions!"
"Then what about all these-"
She kicks an empty ramen cup and points towards the many chocolate wrappers on the ground.
"These rubbish then?"
God she was annoying.
"I'll clean them later, alright? Now, tell me, how long do you plan to stay until you go back to heaven or something,
She sighed and laid onto my bed. She was really getting comfy in my house, wasn't she?
"I also wish to go back. However, do you remember what I told you? I need to fight and get rid of the monsters in this area. However, I have no real offensive abilities, and that's where you come in."
She sat up, and turned to face me.
"I have chosen you to help me. You will be granted two special abilities, one from me, and one from Eris, the Goddess of Fortune. Do you accept?"
A power?
That seems interesting.
And surely there aren't that many monsters. After all, nothing has ever been said or reported on TV about monsters!
"Sure, I-"
However, I get cut off when suddenly, a bright light appears and surrounds me.
