The man slammed his sword downward towards Tu, with a loud grunt he heavily connected his saber with a piece of Tu's armor.

The Earth bender used the ground below and aimed to launch his opponent to the air, but the seasoned warrior quickly dodged it. Instead, the extended earth managed to hit one of the spearman charging right behind him. The warrior was sent flying backwards, swiftly went past his other three comrades

"Khenbish!" The captain cried to the one warrior propelled into one of the trees. Wearing a metal helmet and a full suit of lamellar, the man was knocked unconscious as his head slammed into the tree trunk.

The other three didn't stop charging, they believe that their fellow clansman is not in a fatal state. For them, each and every one of them have been through hell that is much worse than this current fight.

"You will pay!" He once again slashed at Tu. This time, successfully land a hit on the Earth bender. The stomach area was cut, as Tu was unable to evade the blade.

Using one hand to cover his hurting stomach, and the other to raise the Earth, Tu raised a massive rising wall that separated them from the rest. It would take them some time to get through it, but for Tu, even a few extra seconds is enough to aid their escape.

As the wall rises slowly, the captain was thrown a little off balance as he stood right next to the rising wall itself. The ground nearby does mimic that of an rumbling earthquake, the other charging warriors does not seem that affected due the distance between them.

Before their field of view of each other is completely cut off, Shui shot out a small volume of water towards one of advancing spearman. The water landed on the man's face. To his great surprise, it immediately solidified into ice. He stopped his action and appeared distressed. His panic caught the attention of captain, who wanted to throw another slash at the injured Tu.

The ice have completely blocked the warrior's mouth and nose, his breathing is halted and his body dropped to the ground. Seeing this, the man immediately rushed over and kicked the ice apart. With a heavy impact, the warrior is slowly able to breathe again, but his body has already weakened due to the lack of oxygen.

He turned his head around, the makeshift wall is now complete, that water bender have indeed successfully diverted his attention. If he had attacked Tu instead of helping his fellow warrior, that wall might not have been built. But no, for him, the lives of a clansman is always more important, he would rather delay catching those outlaws than letting one of his own die under his wings.

The last standing spearman charged into the wall, he stabbed his pointy spear into the obstacle and hope that somehow it can fall. It was a feasible attempt.

"Enough!" The man said to him, and laid down the weakened warrior next to the shades. "You think what you did would work? You go tend to these two and see if they are ok!"

"Yes Ganbaatar!" The spearman regained his resolve, and wield his spear with a tighter grip. He soon went over to the two wounded warriors to manage their injuries.

"And you!" Ganbaatar said to the man with lighter armor. "I think you know better than I what to do on other side."

"Aye captain the man in plain fur deel responded.

...

Tu's body is now leaning on the wall he just erected, both of his hands are placed on the stomach. Shui arrived hastily next to him, checking his status. She have never anticipated that the weakling actually had back up. Should she have not underestimated, the situation might not have come to this.

"Get the prisoners, I will open up the other wall." Tu said in a painful voice. He is breathing faster than normal, which concerned Shui tremendously.

Instead of wasting her words, she decided it would be better to comply with Tu's request. She grabbed the rope near the cliff and soon was tying it around Satchiko's arms. The Kyoshi warrior is simply too weak to resist.

After fastening the rope, Shui turned her head around to face Mayumi, who is still entrapped in ice.

Mayumi felt a bit uneasy after Tu created that wall, she is once again a little worried.

"I know what you might be thinking, Kyoshi warrior!" Shui said in an unfriendly tone, which did caused Mayumi to flinch a little. "Those people might be trying to help you, but don't think they would succeed!"

"I don't think they would," Mayumi's responded, slightly confusing Shui. "Because I know they will."

Hearing this, Shui spun around and quickly dodged the incoming arrow. A man is standing on the wall. Shui directed some lake water in order to knock him back to the other side. To her greatest surprise, the man flipped himself high into the air and easily dodged the attack.

His moves were like that of an acrobatic as he descended down the walls. Throughout mid air, he kicked his left leg and a swirl of wind pummeled Shui's unprepared body.

Another Airbender. Unlike the monks from the air temples, his style was aggressive, sharp and volatile, completely contrasting the peaceful and nature of traditional air bending. Even though he has a grey arrow tattooed on his forehead, Mayumi definitely believe he is no way a normal air nomad.

The wind was strong and rough, it was unlike the usual air attacks thrown by Feng during their training. This is different, for Shui at least knows the basic attacks of air bending. The lightly dressed warrior landed on the ground and kicked his legs again. The velocity of the air forced Shui to cover her eyes, it's difficult facing an opponent she is not familiar with. Constant kicks from this warrior only generated even more intense wind. Small pieces of dirt from the ground were also carried by the wind, which managed to scratch Shui's face. A small scratches even turned into tiny incision wounds.

Pausing his relentless assault, he kicked his legs in circles around his body, a small tornado was created in front of him. Even though the size of this is laughable when compared to nature's tornado, they knew this is more than enough to completely destroy Shui's will to fight. As the man prepares to bend that tornado towards Shui, he felt a grip on his legs. Without a follow up move, the small tornado diminished. Looking down, the warrior realized that Tu used a bit of earth bending to trap him, causing him to be immobilized. The close distance between this warrior and Tu allow the latter to perform this technique that is otherwise cannot be done on Satchiko and Mayumi.

Before the warrior can react, Shui scratched the man's chest. At first, he did not understand what has happened. It wasn't until he noticed that there are claws made of ice on Shui's hands, and he recognized that his deel was penetrated.

Sensing the sharp incision on his chest, he kneeled to the ground due to the immense pain. Shui walked forward, and intended to slice him more.

But Tu's newly made wall instantly bursted open, and Shui immediately take cover behind a rock. The fragments and debris of the wall flew past her, landing on the ground with loud thumps. She didn't know what happened to Tu, as he still haven't opened up the other wall.

Suddenly, she heard a loud roar that can only be made by a beast. A large shadow appeared behind the bursted entrance, which partially was concealed by the smoke created. As Shui's vision turned clearer, an entity revealed itself to have two large horns. The white fur covered its entire body, and it stomped its six foot hard in the ground. Perhaps the most notable feature would be the large arrow on its head.

A bison? Satchiko thought to herself. Batu wasn't lying when he said he can provide one. But how? How did these people managed to get themselves one? Aren't they reserved for the air nomads only?

A few dozen warriors, armed with spears, axes and saber, rushed forwards. Their target is Shui, although some did started to go after Tu as well.

With a few water bending techniques, Shui was able to inflict some heavy casualties upon the these warriors. They backed away as seven of them were trapped in ice, alot were being whipped and slashed by the madwoman's assault.

However, more of their clansman joined them, and air bending ones have also arrived. They used their legs to bend the nearby air so that strong wind currents would force Shui backwards. She tried to resist it, but she instead the air currents compelled her to retreat near sands of the lake.

The clansman all pointed their weapons, or positioned themselves in unconventional air bending stances, all with the intention to defeat this very formidable enemy. While Shui was backed towards the lake, for a water bender this might not very be a bad thing for her.

One of the warriors was able to retrieve Batu, Shui paid no heed to them as the boy meant nothing to their mission.

Another warrior, creeped from the sides, slowly made himself near Mayumi's position. Since Shui was driven a bit further away, he managed to slipped past her attention and arrive here. Before he can began hacking the ice away with his axe, he heard Mayumi's voice telling him to stop.

"Please, get my sister out of here first, you don't need to worry about me." Mayumi pleaded with him. Her eyes were that of great sincerity, which definitely prompted him to stare at her a bit longer.

The warrior then looked towards Satchiko, is lying on the ground and still tied up. While he is a little hesitant, he decided to get Satchiko out of here first and hope someone else can help Mayumi. As he came forward to get to Satchiko, his arms was hit by Shui's flying ice needles. The others watched as their fellow warrior was struck down, not even that suit of lamellar was able to fully protect him. As they refocused on Shui, the foot soldiers were immediately flooded with the water drawn from the lake. The Airbenders managed to dodge out of it, and avoided being turned into ice.

Ganbaatar suddenly commanded all of them to standby, more warriors in suits of lamellar poured into the area. They surrounded Shui, knowing that she cannot defeat their superior numbers. He waited until everyone filed the ranks.

"What is she doing?" One of the warrior asked another. Those around him only shrugged at his question, but they will soon find out what this fanatic can very accomplish with her thin sharp claws.

"I have come to realize that my mercy towards you imbeciles was a mistake!" Shui declared boldly for all of them to hear. Her voice was sharp and scathing, but despite that, she failed to intimidate Ganbaatar and the others.

"Just give up already," Ganbaatar sneered. "Your friend over their may not live long if you don't surrender!"

Tu was now near the cliff, two spearman now surrounds him as he almost fall off. The airbending warrior, who got slashed by Shui, also joined the spearmen in encircling Tu. They got him right where they wanted him to be.

Thinking they got victory in the bag, the warriors behind Ganbaatar laughed at Shui. They believe the cards are now in their hands. They may not be the most professional fighters, but they do have the confidence.

"You think you got the upper hand?" Shui's words made the surrounding men dropped their laughter. Soon, everyone begin to notice that she stretching her fingers, displayed a very malevolent smile. "You think your number against me is what it takes to defeat me!"

Ganbaatar started to observed the ways Shui stretched her fingers. She removed the ice claws and directed her hands in a very particular way. He slowly grimaced, and suddenly dashed forward to stop what she is doing.

Shui, anticipated this, she moved her hands like a puppeteer and stopped Ganbaatar in right his path.

The warrior in lamellar, only stood there still, the others watched in horror as what is happening next. Ganbaatar, now with a worrisome face, deliberately drove his saber through his own lamellar armor. The blade stabbed into the leg, causing him to collapse instantly.

"Blood bender!" One of the warrior called out. He tried to switch to the composite bow that is hanging on his back, but he felt his arm froze. The others also cannot move, and only stood there watching Shui controlling them like puppets. Their body's are no longer control by their own will.

Shui's laughed at this sight, she is after all a person consumed with madness. There might be a strong reason as to why blood bending was banned in Republic city. Not only has Katara herself pushed for its prohibition, the power to manipulate the bodies of individuals are more than enough to kill countless people if the user wishes it.

"Not so tough now are you?" Shui asked the men in armor and the air bending warriors. They all couldn't respond as their throats are being twisted. Necks slowly turning, and they are fearful that Shui might actually snap them all and end it right here.

"Hmm, I suppose I could just spare you, after all I could trade the worthless lives of you expendables for Tu." Shui said to the remaining three warriors who are guarding Tu. About more than twenty of their brothers in arms are subdued and not in a state to fight. They have essentially became hostages because of Shui.

"Additionally," Shui added. "I want you to grant us safe passage, and allow us to bring those two Kyoshi warriors with us!"

"Khiimori, what do we do?" One of the men in lamellar asked his air bending peer. If only they had more men, then they might still have a fighting chance.

Khiimori tried to ignore his chest injury as much as possible, but he gritted his teeth after hearing Shui's ultimatum. Who knows what this person is thinking. Save his people? Or the two 'allies'.

Reluctantly, Khiimori roughly pushed Tu towards Shui, as the lives of many are also at stakes here. Tu slowly walked towards Shui, the remaining three warriors held their breathe as the Earthbender reached Shui.

"I have handed your fellow bandit over, now let them go!" Khiimori said in a weakened voice. He very needs to wrap this up before he is overcome by his wound.

Stab*

A medium sized ice shard embedded into Khiimori's chest, his body soon landed backwards with a hollowing voice escaping his lungs. Ganbaatar and the others are perturbed by this, they tried to resist the blood bending as much as they can, but all actions are futile.

When Khiimori's body dropped to the ground, the two remaining warriors felt the entire world just dropped on their heads. Shui has betrayed the deal. Not only will she get away with capturing Satchiko and Mayumi, she might also kill everyone else here.

"Pity, I think you all have forgotten that meatheads are not the best thinkers." Shui chuckled as the distraught faces of everyone else.

Even Mayumi can felt that all hope is lost. She watched as Shui punctured the armor of the last two warriors all the while maintaining firm control of her blood bending. The two of them only suffered from stab wounds from their legs, and the ice shards and needles are very difficult to pull out.

After dealing with the stragglers, Shui turned her attention to the warriors still under her blood bending. Mayumi watched nervously as Ganbaatar and the rest struggled to save themselves.

"It was a valiant effort," Shui said in a disturbingly nice way. "But I am afraid this is where your journey ends, but don't worry, I will make it as painless as possible."

Tu began to grew very nervous, the necks of the warriors slowly turn backwards. Sound of bone cracking can be heard, yet, he dare not to interfere. At least they didn't fail their master.

"Goodbye!" Shui said with a smile. They all anticipated the warriors would die here. They all thought there was no hope. Even Ganbaatar himself thought it would be better to close his eyes and face death directly. Before the anticipated snap came, all the bodies dropped to the ground.

"Why you little-!" Shui muttered.

Satchiko, still tied to the rope, used her mouth to bite hard into Shui's arms. She immediately used blood bending to control the restless Kyoshi warrior and suspend her in the air. Before Shui can do anything, Tu once a gain reminded their priorities.

"I had enough!" Shui said while holding a sharp ice shard in her hands. "This girl must go!"

Mayumi panicked, the warriors on the ground couldn't respond as their body has yet to recover. Ganbaatar tried to lift his saber, but the disrupted blood flow of his body hindered him from performing this action.

Unexpectedly, Tu managed to restrain Shui from driving the ice shard into Satchiko. To Shui's great displeasure, she tried very hard to force the Shard into Satchiko.

Her voice now greatly reflects her insanity, her disarrayed hair and facial features heightens her volatile personality.

"Look around you! Now no one can stop your death!" Shui said. She clearly wanted Satchiko to be dead. However, she wanted the Kyoshi warrior to feel despair and complete hopelessness first.

Satchiko looked around, Mayumi trapped in ice, Tu is too afraid to stop Shui, and Ganbaatar and his people are no longer in fighting condition. But instead of fearing for her life, Satchiko looked up to the air. Something has caught her attention.

A black arrow, flying at a speed that can deceive the naked eye, plunged into Shui's uninjured shoulder. The water bender dropped Satchiko to pull the arrow out. Instead of easily removing it, Shui felt a very sharp pain.

She looked at the direction of where Satchiko have looked. A large flying bison, possibly the one from before, hovers high in the air. A silver object suddenly jumped off it. It wielded a large scimitar and an elaborate round shield.

When it landed on the ground, everyone felt a strong force of wind as the loud sound banged across this place. The object did managed to slow itself down before it touched the dirt.

After Shui and Tu removed their arms from their surprised faces, a large intimidating man in a strange looking armor now stood in front of her. The ground in which he stood on has cracks, possibly caused by the impacted on the landing.

He is tall, hulking, a full suit of heavy lamellar covered his entire body including the majority of his face. Only his eyes are unprotected. The set of armor is made of identical scales all pieced together like a disciplined army. The helmet is round, but there are more scales attached to the armor that helps to conceal the identity of the man. Almost every part of his body is protected with iron lamellar and plate. Every piece looked like scales that resembles a dragon, impenetrable and deadly.

To describe this strange looking equipment, it looks like a pagoda tower.

This mysterious figure banged his saber and shield together, ringing a clanking sound. Without speaking a single word, he point his weapon at Shui and Tu, and proceed:; to challenge them in direct combat.

"It's the Khan! We are saved!" A warrior yelled happily. Him, Ganbaatar and the others rejoiced seeing their leader finally making the grand entrance they have been hoping for.

Mayumi and Satchiko looked at the Khan, his eyes were lifeless, and his face anonymous. But he may be their last hope. Just one figure against Shui and Tu, but something tells them that the faith of these warriors placed in the Khan must have been backed by something. Something powerful.

The Khan made a grunting muffle, and charged straight towards the enemy with his shield at the front.

Author's note:

-Blood bending was a technique previously thought to only be performed under full moon, but obviously The legends of Korra has broke this lore. I was very hesitant to give Shui blood bending as it might be too powerful for a character like her. However, since I have written her to be a more insane individual that is fanatically devoted to the master's cause. I have ultimately decided that she might be ok with using this technique.

-The Jin dynasty pagoda armor used by the Jurchen nomadic people is a very interesting looking equipment. It felt much more intimidating than regular Mongolian lamellar.
