2 years later…

Robyn plucked at one of her guitar's strings, not really focused on making music. She was too distracted by the dull ache that was in her chest. While she had gotten used to it since it started up a couple of years ago, there were times when it was difficult to think about anything else. She glanced toward the front door when heard the bell rang.

Robyn pulled the door open and gasped when she saw her uncle, Richard Hannigan standing there! She tried to shut the door on him but he just shoved it open. "H-how are you here?" she asked, weakly "y-you're supposed…"

"To be in prison?" the man smirked at her "I got out early so I could see my precious niece…" he brought out wicked looking knife and before Robyn could do anything, he stabbed her with it "and end her life". Robyn fell to the floor, gasping. She cried out when he yanked the knife from her stomach. Her uncle leaned over her "goodbye Robyn" he raised the knife to stab her again when he was grabbed from behind and pulled away.

As her vision darkened, Robyn barely made out two people with her uncle. Then she blacked out.

"I'm sorry Amy", Robyn mumbled as she and Amy curled up in her bed, the ginger with her arms around her. She'd woken her friend up screaming from a nightmare of the events earlier that day.

"You don't need to apologise", Amy said softly.

"Yes, I do. It's the night before your wedding", the redhead said "you should be having dreams of the amazing day to come, not comforting me" she began to tear up "I'm the worst friend in the world".

"No you are not", Amy wiped some tears from her cheeks "you never asked for that man to find and hurt you" she plucked the angel figurine from Robyn's nightstand "I think you need this little guy again".

Robyn took it from her, hugging it to her chest "thanks Ames", she sniffled. They then both heard a noise from outside. The pair, got out of bed and looked out of the window to see the blue police box. "He's back", Robyn breathed. She didn't know whether to be happy or wary of that fact.

"If you want to stay here…" the Scotswoman started.

"No, I'll go with you", the newly turned 23 year old cut in.

"Alright then", Amy said. She took her hand and together they walked downstairs and out of the house.

"Sorry about running off earlier", the Doctor said apologetically, unable to keep the smile off his face when he saw Robyn. Though it faded when he saw the tear stains on her face. "What's wrong?" he asked. The young woman shook her head, clutching Amy's hand tighter. She didn't trust herself to say anything without completely breaking down.

"She's not feeling very well", Amy replied "So…you came back then", she added, quickly changing the subject.

"Course I came back. I always come back. Something wrong with that?" the Time Lord asked as they walked towards him.

"And you kept the clothes", the ginger added, eyeing his outfit.

The Doctor glanced down at himself then back up to Amy and Robyn "Well, I just saved the world. The whole planet, for about the millionth time, no charge. Yeah, shoot me. I kept the clothes", he sassed.

"Including the bow tie", Amy said, raising a brow at the bow tie.

"Yeah, it's cool" the Doctor fiddled with the Bow tie "Bow ties are cool. What do you think?" he asked Robyn. She just shrugged in response.

"Are you from another planet?" Amy suddenly questioned.

"Yeah", the Time Lord replied.

"You're an alien?" Robyn quietly asked.

The Doctor nodded "I am", he confirmed "but I'm one of the good ones, trust me".

"I know", the redhead said "you did save the world after all".

"Okay", Amy and Robyn said together in a tone that seemed like, to the Doctor at least, they'd accepted the fact that he wasn't human.

"Would you like to check some planets out?" he offered.

"What does that mean?" Amy asked wondering if by his question, he was asking them to travel with him in the TARDIS.

"It means…well, it means…" the Doctor's gaze shifted over to Robyn "come with me".

"I don't know…" Robyn said. If it was going to be anything like what happened two years ago, then she wasn't so keen. However, with her uncle showing up and trying to kill her…again…maybe she needed to get away for a bit. And she was pretty sure there was no way that monster would be able to find her if she was no longer on Earth.

"You know, all that stuff that happened. The hospital, the spaceships, Prisoner Zero… all that stuff…" Amy took a step forward, now angry "That was two years ago!"

The Doctor's eyes widened at that "Oh…Oops", he said "So that's…"

"Fourteen years!" Amy yelled and the Time Lord flinched.

"Fourteen years since fish custard" he glanced at Robyn "two years for you Robyn. I think you two have waited long enough".

Amy hesitated for a moment "When I was a kid, you said there was a swimming pool and a library, and the swimming pool was IN the library", the ginger said.

"Yeah", the Doctor said "Not sure where it's got to now. It'll turn up. So…coming?"

"I'm not sure…maybe", Robyn mumbled.

"No", Amy replied although she sounded rather hesitant. She had been excited about seeing the Doctor again but at the prospect of travelling with him…she was unsure.

"You wanted to come fourteen years ago", the Doctor reminded her.

"I grew up", the ginger argued.

The Time Lord grinned "Don't worry. I'll soon fix that" he snapped his fingers and the door to the TARDIS opened, bathing Amy and Robyn in a warm orange glow. They glanced at him and he nodded, giving them encouragement to go inside.

The women stepped inside the ship, their mouths dropping open at the sheer size of the inside compared to the outside. The Doctor entered the TARDIS, closing the door behind him "Well…? Anything you want to say? Any passing remarks? I've heard them all".

He walked up the steps to the console while the two females stayed put, both of them rather overwhelmed by it all. "I'm in my nightie", Amy breathed unable to come up with anything to say.

"Oh, don't worry. Plenty of clothes in the wardrobe", the Doctor assured her "And possibly a swimming pool. So…all of time and space, everything that ever happened or ever will…where do you want to start?"

"You are so sure that we're coming", Amy said joining him by the console.

"Yeah, I am", the Doctor said confidently as he walked around the console.

"Why?" Amy questioned. Robyn slowly backed towards the door, feeling her breathing start to quicken. It was all too much. With Richard stabbing her that morning and now this…she couldn't handle it. The angel figurine dropped from her hand, landing on the floor with a clatter. Amy and the Doctor ran toward her as the redhead collapsed. "Ryn? Ryn!" the ginger called touching her shoulder "come on, Ryn. Come back to us" she placed the angel figurine in her hand, closing her fingers loosely around it "Focus on your guardian angel", Amy urged.

"Guardian angel?" the Doctor asked.

"It's this little angel figurine. She holds it whenever she has nightmares or in a stressful situation", Amy explained "the angel fights away her demons and watches over her". The Time Lord couldn't help but think that could be him. As Robyn's Bonded it was his job to look after her…to protect her… and he was going to be damned if he was going to let anything happen to her, starting from now.

"Amy…" Robyn mumbled, her hand tightening around the angel.

"I'm here", Amy said, softly.

"I'm sorry", the redhead whispered, opening her eyes "it was too much".

"Don't worry about it", the Doctor said "it is a lot to take in at once". Without thinking he held his out to her and Robyn took it. The second their hands touched, they received a shock which made them both gasp. His green eyes stared into her blue-green ones as the pair felt a warmth rush through their bodies and everything seemed to fall away. No Amy. No TARDIS. Just the Doctor and Robyn.

It took Amy clearing her throat to break them out of it. Very reluctantly, the Time Lord moved back from Robyn, letting go of her hand. Almost immediately his fingers ached at the loss. He wanted to hold her hand again as soon as possible.

The ginger looked at them confused, unsure to what had just happened. "Ryn, are ok?" she asked her friend.

"Yeah, fine", Robyn replied. She felt surprisingly good for once which was a really strange feeling. Honesty, she hoped it would hang around for a while as it had been so long since she'd been happy. "If I went with you, it's unlikely that…anyone could find me, right?"

"Very", the Doctor answered "why, is there someone you're hiding from?"

"You could say that", his Bonded admitted. It wasn't quite the answer the Doctor had been hoping for but it was a start at least. Maybe with time, she'd be able to fully open up to him.

"Then I'll do everything I can to keep you safe", he promised.

Robyn gave him a small smile "Thanks", she said.

"Can you get us back for tomorrow morning?" Amy suddenly challenged. If Robyn wanted to go with the Doctor, she was going to have to come along too. Just to make sure that she does stay safe.

"It's a time machine", the Doctor "I can get you back five minutes ago. Why, what's tomorrow?"

"Nothing. Nothing", the ginger said quickly "Just you know, stuff".

"All right, then. Back in time for stuff", the Time Lord said. A new sonic popped up from the console's surface "Oh! A new one!" he said delighted, picking it up and trying it out "Lovely" he pocketed the sonic and patted the console "Thanks, dear" he turned to the pair "So, are you both really okay, then?" he asked "Because this place, sometimes it can make people feel a bit…you know".

"Still a bit much", Robyn confessed "but I think I could get used to it". The Doctor smiled at that.

"I'm fine", Amy answered "It's just…there's a whole world in here, just like you said. It's all true. I thought. Well…I started to think that maybe you were just like a madman with a box".

"Amy Pond, there's something you'd better understand about me, because it's important, and one day your life may depend on it" the Doctor told her seriously before brightening "I am definitely a madman with a box. Ha ha! Yeah" Amy laughed and even Robyn let out a short giggle which made the Doctor really happy "Goodbye Leadworth, hello everything!"

The Doctor pulled a lever causing them to quickly grab hold of the console as the TARDIS jolted. As he held onto the console, a grin crept onto his face. He was off travelling through Time and Space with his Bonded! And as his Ninth self would say, FANTASTIC!
