Ch26

Triton winced as the servant applied salve to his wounds. "Damn it. Hecate was strong even in the water," he muttered as winced at the pain. The goddess of magic put up a tough fight that left him more injured than he would've liked to admit.

The door to the infirmary opened revealing his mother wearing a golden dress made up of shells. "Mother what is it?" He asked as the servants got up and bowed.

His mother Amphitrite looked at him and inspected his wounds. "That goddess sure put up a fight," she said as she took the salve and applied it on his arms. "Your father has her locked up in a high security prison."

"Good to know," he winced as the wounds stung.

"Hold still," His mother said as she finished applying the salve. "You and your siblings all made our father proud, I hear the other gods applauded your father."

"That's good," he said as he sat back in his chair. I'm glad I made you proud father. I'll continue to prove myself worthy of being his heir.

"Your siblings were also impressive," His mother said staring out the window. "Thanks to their help the Camp's borders are stronger than ever."

He sighed and nodded. "Yes Percy and Chrysaor did an excellent job." Deep down as much as he hated to admit it they did a great job on the quest. I can see why father likes Percy, he will make an excellent son of Poseidon.

His mother smiled at him. "You trained young Percy well. Continue to watch over them, remember his success is our success."

"I understand mother," he sighed. Getting up he stretched his arms. "I'll continue to make sure he won't die."

"Good," his mother said firmly. "Now go and see your father, he wishes to see you."

"Understood," he said. Snapping his fingers a new armored suit enveloped his body.

He left his room and swam through the palace to the main throne room. Inside he found his father Poseidon talking to some of his advisors. Approaching the throne he bowed deeply. "Lord Father what do you require?"

His father looked up at him and dismissed his advisers. "Ah Triton I wanted to speak to you about some things. Have a seat."

He nodded and sat on the chair next to his father. "Did you discover anything from the Princess Andromeda?"

Poseidon frowned and rested in his chair. "We are still searching through it. Only the Fates know how many monsters and demigods were there. You did good assisting your brothers, the loss of this ship was a blow to the enemy but we must not let our guard down."

"I understand," He said clenching his fists. "The Titan Lord and his accomplices got away."

His father's face turned grave and nodded. "Indeed they did. My father has many allies and secret places, I imagine he is hiding low and licking his wounds. Rest assured though he will come back and try to avenge this defeat. We must be alert for anything."

"I will father," he said firmly. "The enemy shall not get away next time. With Percy and Chrysaor's help we can overcome the enemy's tricks."

His father's gaze was calm yet there was a curiosity in them. "I'm glad to see you are bonding well with them, you trained them well."

He could feel his face redden. "They did good. I trained Percy to not die; he succeeded in that." Yet deep down he had to admit Percy was a cool kid and had a lot of potential. Just as long as he and Chrysaor don't die we should be ok.

A small smile spread across his father's face. "I have great plans for all of my children. Though be careful, my brother may not approve of you helping them. Make sure you follow all of the laws."

"I understand father," he said meeting his father's gaze. "Thalia Grace has returned. Should we be weary of her?"

His father sighed. "For now just let her be. My brother is really happy at the moment. Things get more complicated with her though, either she or Percy will be the child of the prophecy."

He nodded feeling the mood tense up. Deep down he knew the prophecy would go to his youngest brother. Hopefully I can train him to make the right choices.

"Anyway we have Hecate imprisoned," his father said folding his arms. "The news that she was working for the Titans caused alarm bells to go off all over Olympus."

"Have the other minor gods been working with the enemy?" He asked.

His father's face darkened. "They have been oddly quiet. I believe that they are waiting to see with whom to cast their lot. All I know is that my brother and sister are furious about this betrayal."

Well she and the other minor gods don't exactly have much respect in Olympus. He knew he was fortunate in that he was his father's first born and heir but other minor gods even important ones like Hecate didn't have thrones and their children didn't have cabins in camp.

"What will be done with Lady Hecate?" he asked.

His father rubbed his forehead. "My brother wants her in chains and hung from Olympus for her treason to make the other minor gods loyal to him."

His father's sarcasm was palpable on his lips, he could see where Percy and Chrysaor got it from.

"Anyway my sister Hestia should be here soon," his father said. "I've discussed things with her and together we shall speak with Hecate. Her wisdom could help with this delicate situation."

He nodded. "Sounds good father. Lady Hestia always has everyone's interest at heart."

"Yeah she likes to bring the family together," his father sighed.

A messenger then came into the throne room and bowed. "Lord Poseidon Lord Triton Lady Hestia has arrived."

"See her in," his father ordered.

The servant nodded and left. "Shall I stay here father?" he asked

"You can stay," his father said. He nodded as the door opened and Hestia walked in. He stood up and bowed to her. "Lady Hestia it is a pleasure for you to visit us."

Hestia nodded and turned to his father. "Olympus has been hectic since your children dealt that blow to the Titan Lord. Hecate is still imprisoned here?"

His father nodded. "She is being held in a maximum security prison. Have the other gods said anything about her?"

Hestia frowned as she sat down in front of them. "Our brother Zeus is still furious at her and the other gods want to punish her and make her an example for the other gods."

I could see the logic in that but it could also backfire. He said nothing though, he just folded his arms and listened.

"I fear that the other minor gods may not be as loyal," Hestia said. "They have all been oddly quiet lately and observing us."

More like waiting to see with whom they will have the better lot. Deep down he knew that many minor gods resented the fact that they didn't have the same amount of respect and authority as the main gods. It was sad and he did pity them but at the same time there wasn't much he could do. If they fight for Olympus they will still be taken for granted. If they join the Titan Lord and lose they suffer. A pity that they are stuck between a rock and a hard place.

His father folded his arms and rested in his chair. "Hecate was loyal to us during the last war, as much as I hate to admit it we haven't always appreciated her."

Hestia nodded a flicker of sadness passed through her gaze. "She cares for others deeply. May I speak to her in private?"

"You may," his father said snapping his fingers a dolphin came into the room. "Show Lady Hestia the prisoner."

The dolphin bowed to his father and then to Hestia who got up and followed the servant out of the room.

"What do you think of our situation?" His father asked once the door was closed.

"It is an interesting situation," he said. "I believe we are in a position that could benefit us if we play it correctly?"

"Of really? Tell me how so?" His father asked curiously.

"If we punish her too hard it would create future resentment between you, Lady Hecate, and the other minor gods," he said choosing his words carefully. "It could be beneficial to you if you showed some leniency."

His father looked at him with his calm eyes, despite being his heir he still couldn't always tell his father's mood. "I see. If only it could be that easy," his father said folding his arms. His father sighed and looked up at the ceiling. "If she even wanted leniency the other gods would want to punish her."

"I understand the politics of Olympus can be challenging," he said looking up at his father. "However, if a war is coming the more allies we have the better."

His father nodded. "I understand that son. It won't be easy but I'll discuss things with Hestia. She'll be able to work things out for us."

"I fear the enemy may retaliate for their loss," he said looking up at his father. "I'll do my best to make sure Percy is safe."

A small smile spread across his father's face. "You do that. Oh I have another thing I think you should know about."

"What is it?" He asked.

His father looked at him with a calm gaze. "Pegasus has inquired about his brother."

He stared at his father dumbstruck. "R-Really?" It wasn't a secret that the two weren't on speaking terms.

Poseidon nodded. "Indeed. I told him he was doing ok. Who knows maybe they will meet again in the future, if the Fates will it. Anyway go and continue to salvage the Princess Andromeda."

"Yes father," he said with a bow. Pegasus. He was curious on how a reunion between those two would go. Lets see how much you have changed Chrysaor.

AN: Well here ends part II. We'll be going into The Titan's Curse next. I have plans for Reyna and Hylla but I don't think I'll introduce the Romans or have a civil war things since Kronos would also be affected by it.

As for Annabeth, don't worry I have plans for her in the future.

Anyway I'll be busy editing the next few chapters so it will be a while before the next update. Let me know what you think.
