Ch27

Luke knelt in front of Krono's coffin with Annabeth as his side. "Lord Kronos we are ready for the operation. Dr. Thorn will secure the targets soon."

"Good," Kronos said his voice reverberating throughout the room. "It better not fail."

He swallowed a lump in his throat. A lot was riding on this. "We have forces in place. In addition we have this." He took a small box form his pocket.

"What good would a bracelet do me?" Kronos asked.

"Annabeth and I came up with this idea," He said. "In case they get to camp maybe we could give them these bracelet through Silena. Your presence will pass through the holder and allow them to be influenced by you."

"You and Annabeth thought of this?" Kronos asked. "A smart plan."

Annabeth flinched but bowed. Her face was pale but her eyes were calm. "I appreciate your compliments my lord."

It was true that she did help him. He didn't want to fail and she gave him the idea of a back up plan because if they failed this they would both be in a lot of trouble. I can't allow her to get hurt anymore. He knew that she was tortured because of his failure, he wouldn't allow it to happen again.

"Well then hopefully we can get the recruits we need," Kronos said.

"We will not fail you," he said firmly. Thalia. He knew his friend and crush were heading to get the twins. We'll be reunited soon I promise. We'll be a family again just like the old days.

Chrysaor sat in the front seat of Ms. Jackson's car while Percy and Thalia Grace and Hylla sat behind them. They were headed to some boarding school to help Grover out with the retrieval of some demigods and it was an interesting ride.

Grover asked that Thalia accompany them and apparently Hylla was getting bored of the camp so she ended up tagging as well.

"I know you may have heard this a lot but you do look like Percy a little," Ms. Jackson said.

"Yeah I can see that. We both have our father's hair," he said. Percy wanted him to meet his mother so that was why he was next to her instead of Percy who sat awkwardly next to Thalia and Hylla not saying a word out of awkwardness.

Ms. Jackson nodded, "Yeah you both look similar to him in different ways. What was your mother like?"

"Um I didn't know her well," he said not knowing if he should say she was really Medusa and his other brother Pegasus.

"I see well I'm glad Percy and you get along. He tells me that you and another sibling of yours trains him," Ms. Jackson said.

"Yeah Triton is our father's oldest child. Our father wants to make sure that Percy is well trained," he said.

"I see. Well I'm glad he has both of you to watch over him and show him the ropes of being a demigod," Ms. Jackson said. "I'm glad you both get along."

He noticed Percy roll his eyes in the back but didn't say anything as they drove down the snowy roads. He continued to make with Ms. Jackson until they reached Westover Hall. It was dark and gloomy outside.

"Alright you kids be safe let me know if you need anything," Ms. Jackson said waving at them as they got out of the car.

"Thanks mom we will," Percy said as he closed the door behind him. "Come on lets find Grover," he said once Ms. Jackson had driven off.

Hylla nodded. "We should be cautious we don't know what is up ahead."

They followed Thalia right into the school, the daughter of Zeus had a determined look on her face as the lady at the front office stared at them. "We are here for the dance," she said snapping her fingers.

He noticed the mist do its work around the woman whose eyes became a temporary glaze before she nodded, "Of course down the hall."

"What was that?" Percy asked as they walked down the hall.

"You mean the mist? Hasn't Chiron taught you how to use it?" Thalia asked incredulously.

Percy avoided her gaze and said nothing. "Don't worry I can teach you a bit later," he said patting his shoulder.

His brother smiled at them as Grover came running towards them. "Hey guys glad you can make it," Grover said his eyes wide as they scanned the area.

"Grover what's wrong," Percy asked.

"Two demigods they are powerful but I don't know their parentage," Grover whispered.

"What are you all doing here," a stern voice said. They turned around to see a man glowering at them.

"Oh Dr. Thorn we are just headed towards the dance," Grover said with a nervous laugh. The man glared at them and the hairs on his neck stood up, something wasn't right about this man.

Dr. Thorn only nodded and walked off into the dance room. Grover sighed, "We have to hurry. That Dr. Thorn has been getting in my way, I know something isn't right about him."

Thalia nodded, "Alright come one." They entered the dance room which was full of students dancing while lights and music blared throughout the room.

"There they are Nico and Bianca di Angelo," Grover said pointing to a young boy and girl in the corner.

"Alright lets blend in with the crowd," Thalia said. "Percy come on dance with me. Chris you dance with Hylla."

He nodded and went with Hylla to the dance floor. "So how do you enjoy camp so far?" he asked as they awkwardly danced together.

Hylla shrugged. "It is fun. Me and my sister enjoy though personally I wish to see more of the world."

"That's understandable," he said.

"Yeah. Reyna though still prefers the camp," she said. "Though personally we wished it were more organized. I mean our mother doesn't even have a cabin."

"Many gods don't," he said. I honestly don't know the protocol when things like this happen. Do those Romans just send a message or what? But either way Dionysus said they could stay and they had received no other message from the other Olympians saying otherwise.

"But we appreciate you and your brother. You both showed us a lot of hospitality by letting us stay in your cabin," Hylla said with a smile.

"Yeah no problem," he said with a shrug. It was a little strange getting used to living with two women but a few curtains and an extra drawer didn't cause to much disruption. Though it was awkward for his younger brother since Percy never lived with other girls before but he would get used to it.

"So anything new with you or your sister?" he asked as they pretended to dance on the floor.

Hylla shook her head. "No we are both busy training our skills. We haven't heard from our mother but apparently that's normal."

More so for the Romans. "I see. Well I'm glad you all enjoy everything."

Hylla sighed. "Thanks But I honestly miss the wild. I wish I could travel again in the future."

"Maybe one day you should," he said. "Traveling will give you a lot of experience." Hylla nodded as they both awkwardly pretended to dance.

He looked to where Percy and Thalia were and saw that they were gone, "Where did they go?"

Hylla frowned and looked around. "I can't see them where is the satyr?"

He quickly went to Grover who was getting some punch. "Where are Percy and Thalia?"

Grover nearly dropped what he was holding and looked around. "They probably are dancing somewhere." The satyr frowned and began to scan the crowd. They both looked around but couldn't find them, worse off they couldn't see the twins either, "Oh Gods did they all disappear?"

Hylla came up to them. "Lets go we have to find them immediately."

"Come on they couldn't have gotten far," he said as they raced through the crowds.

Damn it where are you Percy. They raced through the dance floor before finding an exit that led outside. "They must have gone through here come on," he said as they ran through the door.

He drew his golden sword just as they burst through the door. "Percy!" Grover yelled as they ran across the snowy ground.

Percy had Riptide drawn and was protecting the di Angelo siblings as Thalia wrestled with Dr. Thorn, her spear gripped tightly in her hands as she tried to strangle him. The school principal now looked like a monstrous creature that he recognized. "Great the manticore," he mumbled. He looked up and saw a helicopter firing bullets at Percy who was keeping his distance

They went to Percy's side just as arrows flew through the sky hitting Dr. Thorn. "What was that?" Grover said.

"Great more visitors," he said as he turned around and saw more arrows fly through the air hitting Dr. Thorn. The helicopter suddenly started malfunctioning before falling to the ground as it was pierced by arrows.

"Thalia get off he is about to fall!" Percy yelled. But Thalia Grace did not budge as Dr. Thorn fell off the ledge.

"Thalia!" Grover yelled as they saw them both fell down the ledge into the ravine.

They all ran to the edge of the cliff but could not see where she fell. Oh gods this isn't good. His stomach turned, he could already hear Zeus being upset at this.

"Gods Thalia," Percy said shaking his head. "I warned her to not take him by herself but she insisted."

Hylla shook her head. "She'll be ok I know it."

"Foolish girl," he sighed. He turned around and frowned as he saw the Hunters of Artemis exit from the bushes followed by a familiar face he recognized from a long time ago. "Hello Zoe long time no see."

Zoe frowned at him, "I guess the rumors were true. Looks like you really are mortal pirate boy."

"Do you know her?" Percy asked.

He nodded, "Yeah she is the lieutenant of the Hunters of Artemis. We fought a lot in the past."

Zoe glared at him, most likely because she was remembering all the times he raided areas important to her and took the women to other places. Fun times, piracy always changed with the ages.

"Well it looks like it got away," said another voice. A young girl appeared in front of them, a face he recognized all too well. They all bowed to the goddess Artemis who looked at them with a calm gaze.

"Lady Artemis what brings you here?" Grover asked his face reddening.

Artemis looked at them and sighed, "I'm on the hunt. Zoe have some hunters try to find Thalia Grace."

"Yes my lady," Zoe said with a bow.

Artemis nodded before turning to them. "Come on lets talk for a bit before I take you guys to camp."

With that they sat down on a log with Nico di Angelo who kept asking them about random mythological facts while Artemis talked with her hunters. Eventually he and Percy got sick of him and sent him to Grover to babysit.

"He is kind of annoying," Percy sighed looking towards where Thalia fell he frowned. "Chiron won't like this."

"Don't worry I'm sure she'll turn up," he said trying to sound reassuring. "She is strong we'll find her."

Percy nodded. "To be honest I thought she was a bit aggressive."

He laughed, "Yeah I get that. But she was living as a tree so she was still getting used to things."

Percy then leaned closer, "These hunters don't seem to like us that much."

"Don't take it personally they dislike all men," he said. "Just keep your head low until we can get away from them."

"They talked with Hylla for a while and now Bianca I wonder what they are talking about?" Percy asked.

"Probably to recruit her," He said poking the snow with a stick. "It's what the hunters do when they meet women, give them the chance to join them."

Percy frowned just as Zoe came up to them. "Percy Jackson Lady Artemis wishes to speak with you."

"Good luck," he said as Percy got up and followed Zoe.

Hylla eventually came back her brow furrowed and a bunch of pamphlets in her hands. "Let me guess they tried recruiting you?"

"Yeah but I don't know," Hylla said frowning at the snow. "I do wish for romance one day but everything else seems ok. They said they would send a message the Amazons. "You heard of them?"

He nodded. "I have." Between them and the hunters I don't know who is more extreme. "Anyway just think about it and make the right decision, just let your sister know ok?"

"Of course," Hylla said with a frown. "I wouldn't make such a big decision without saying anything to her."

"Good to know," he said as he saw Percy walk back with a frown. "How did it go?"

"Well Bianca joined the hunt," Percy sighed. "She was adamant on joining. Anyway we'll be going with the hunters to camp, Artemis has something to do she said."

"Great," he said as he got up and stretched. "I guess we just wait here then."

Percy nodded. "So do you and Zoe have a lot of bad history?"

"You can say that," he sighed rubbing his head. "Though hunters don't get along with men, especially those that beat and sell them."

"You sold people before?" Percy asked in surprise.

He laughed, "A few times. Piracy during the Middle Ages and Age of Exploration was very lucrative. Zoe isn't a person I would screw around with though she is a tough fighter." He watched as Artemis talk with Zoe and Bianca, the goddess had a tense expression on her face.

"I see," Percy said as a bright object headed their way from the sky.

"Is that Apollo?" Hylla asked covering her eyes.

A bit of a show off as always. He closed his eyes as the object landed, it was red sports car and a handsome blonde haired man came out, "Hey sister what do you need?"

Artemis who was talking with Zoe turned to face the man. "Hello Apollo. I need you to take these campers and my hunters to Camp Half Blood," Artemis said.

"That's Apollo?" Percy asked as they went to look up at the god.

"He is hot," Hylla said looking him up and down.

He nodded, "Yeah that's Apollo." A sexy show off as always.

"Wow cool," Nico said. "Just like Mythomagic."

Percy groaned and rolled his eyes. "Hopefully it isn't a long drive."

"Fine sounds like a plan," Apollo said as he took out his car keys and hit a button. There was a flash of light and in a blink of an eye his car turned into a large bus. "Alright kids all on board."
