Wolf Information:
Werewolf Ranking
Alpha: The leader of the pack. They are the strongest in the pack, dedicated to protecting and providing for their pack. An Alpha can ascend two ways. He is either born in the role such as being born from two alphas. The other way is a Beta challenging the alpha. the only reason a beta would dare to challenge their Alpha is that the alpha has begun to show signs of weakness. The alpha is much more sensitive to their emotions. They are easier to lose control of their wolf. When it comes to their pack, they will not hesitate to protect them.
Beta: The beta is the second in command. When the alpha is away they are to protect and watch over the pack. There are two ways a beta can be assigned the role. One they are born for it or the second the alpha assigns them as his second in command. The beta is superior to his pack mates but does not overpower the alpha.
Delta/Gamma: They are the third in command. Their job is basically to train their males. Teach them how to fight should they ever need it. Like the Beta, a wolf is usually born or assigned to the role. They lead the warriors (pack mates) into battle alongside their alpha.
Luna: Alpha's mate. She becomes a mother figure of sorts to the pack.
Warriors/Packmate: Other members of the pack.
Beta/Delta Females: They are the mates to the beta and delta. Their job is to look out for the females of the pack. Unlike their mates, they don't rush into battle, but they train just as hard.
Omegas: It's rare for a pack to have an omega. Should one be born or manifest into an omega, they are treated with the utmost respect. The luna would usually take the Omega as if it were one of her own pups. Some have gone to the extent of stealing them from their mother.
Mates: A werewolf has the right to choose the one they want to mate with. One can date and bed as many as they like, as long as they don't mark or knot the female. Once mated the two are linked for life. The two have the ability to share emotions. When the alpha mates his priority changes a tad bit. the pack although still his responsibility, his mate is above them. Should either one of them die, the other will fall into a depression that would most likely kill them.
Mating: When it comes to mating, it is pretty self-explanatory. In order for mating to be completed both parties must consent to the action. If there is no consent it would be painful for both of them, possibly leading to death. During the process of sex, the male will bite the shoulder of his mate, claiming them as his own. The mate will then mark the male as well. The final part to conclude the mating would be the knotting. Now should the mating be between a wolf and a human, nothing much changes except for the biting. the wolf would still mark the human, but he himself will not be marked. Instead, he will be scent marked by his mate, usually once a week. The mating between a human and wolf is not the most pleasant one, due to the human's body not being built for the wolf's needs.
Knotting: As stated above the knotting is the swelling at the base of the male penis. It will lock the two mates together completing the mating ritual. After that, there is no need for them to knot again.
Scent marking: It's a form of marking a pack mate, usually reserved for humans in the pack.
Heats: Until a she-wolf is mated they have cycles. This is a helping hand from mother nature, to help find the wolf a mate. When in heat the female will isolate herself away from the pack if she is not ready to pick a mate. Many times she will ride the heat out by herself. but there are a few occasions where it becomes too unbearable and the alpha must jump in. Along as the alpha does not mark or knot the female, she will remain unmated.
Creating Wolves: To create a new werewolf one must want to become one. The bite that changes one has to come from an alpha. In order for the bite to take, the one receiving it must want to accept it. A bite from any other wolf will do nothing to the human, you know besides the pain it will cause.
Pups: A female will give birth like a normal human being, but the child will shift into its wolf form within a day of being born. this will allow the child to grow at the speed of a wolf. For example, a pup at the age of 2 months is 5 years in his human form. Wolf pups grow at a faster rate and mature much quicker. By the time they hit 5 months, they are able to shift back. this happens regardless if the mother is a human or a wolf.
