Naruto woke up with a groan.
He opened his eyes and immediately regretted it as the blinding light hit his eyes. He closed them again and this time opened his eyes more slowly, allowing them to adjust to the light. Naruto looked at the clock next to his bed. 7:00 AM.
Naruto jumped out of bed as the events from the past hour flooded his mind. His fight with the Otsutsuki god, seeing the entire universe being erased in front of his eyes. The voices, which he now thinks was a genjutsu of sorts, screaming as they turned to dust. They were unbearable. The feeling of losing everything. It's what awakened the Shinkugan. What allowed him to defeat the Otsutsuki god. What brought him back to this place.
Naruto stumbled a bit, getting used to this tiny body, as he steadily walked towards the mirror in the bathroom. Staring back at him was a 12 year old Naruto Uzumaki. He observed his face and was a bit relieved. His eyes were back to the calm, cerulean orbs he was used to, instead of the black and neon blue that he last had.
He sat back down on his bed and began to think. Naruto quickly realized that the memories of his past life were stored away at the back of his mind and that he could bring them forth at will. He was interested in how this would appear in his mindscape. After inventing enough jutsu to rival the likes of Tobirama, Naruto developed a sense of intrigue and a bit of a scientific mind.
He looked toward the forehead protector on his bedside table, and the events of the previous night in this timeline entered his memory. Stealing the Scroll of Seals from the Hokage Tower, learning the he was the Kyubi Jinchuriki, his fight (more like thrashing) with Mizuki using hundreds of shadow clones, and Iruka giving Naruto the forehead protector which now lays on the table.
Naruto contemplated his current abilities. Any of his special abilities like Kurama Chakra Mode or his Karma were completely out of the question, for now at least. While he had massive chakra reserves from his Uzumaki bloodline, they were miniscule compared to the chakra he had towards the end, especially without Kurama's chakra, so he doubted he could do any of his signature techniques, though he could pull off some simpler jutsus.
Physically, he was one of the strongest in his graduating class, second only to Sasuke, but was considered weak by his peers as he was always paired with the Uchiha prodigy and kept losing to him. If he could successfully incorporate his unknowing fist style, then he could easily outclass Sasuke. The fact that his sharingan can't copy the technique is a plus.
He was never particularly good at genjutsu, and he currently lacks the immense killer intent required for genkai.
This only left one of his signature skills. Fuinjutsu. He was one of the few masters of the art, greater than any other before him, and it did not require much chakra to use, only calligraphic skills and complete understanding of the symbols, which he very much had.
That brought up another problem. He couldn't have anyone becoming suspicious of his sudden increase in skill or having knowledge of things he shouldn't know, especially a certain scarred old man. So he can't be throwing around rasengans or any of the Thunder Gods until he had a viable explanation for being able to use them.
At the same time, he knew he couldn't face everything alone. He recalled memories of his friends. Comrades. Those who sacrificed themselves to let the rest of us push forward. He wanted to give them the power to be by his side till the end. Perhaps nudge them in the right direction.
There was definitely lots to think about. Naruto looked at the time again. He spent the last half hour thinking. He quickly brushed and showered and opened up his wardrobe to see the several sets of his iconic orange jacket and pants, with a black t-shirt. Putting them on, he thought about getting an outfit change. But after opening his froggy wallet and seeing what little remained of his allowance, he decided on waiting till he got a few d-rank mission pays before going through with buying some new clothes.
After getting dressed, Naruto stepped out into the morning sunshine over Konoha.
