Chapter-51
Ruby, Ozpin
Ruby thought she now had an idea of what exactly would things be like after joining Ozpin's secret organisation.
She'd thought things would get more dangerous, and had been terrified at first with the Fall of Beacon and the impending attack upon Vale.
After that, she'd had a boost of confidence when that woman had looked at her, and was prepared to face whatever the grimm threw at them at night.
Things were going extremely well, as most of the grimm didn't really reach their part of the sector, and the civilians were being transported to the shelter.
Weiss even started believing they would somehow be able to get through this without having to take the brunt of the battle.
Even after the initial shock of the Wyvern's appearance, Ruby felt a little relief when Ozpin erected some sort of magic shield to block it.
But then…Ruby saw it.
A blinding beam of fire blast straight towards the wall.
The fire beam tore through Ozpin's shield like it was nothing, before striking the Great Wall of Vale.
Even from their position, the resulting shockwave knocked Ruby off her feet. People screamed as windows shattered from the sheer force of the explosion. Ruby could even notice some sections of buildings collapse.
Ruby's head felt like it was about to explode. Her ears were ringing, and Ruby felt a stinging pain to see blood coming out of her nose.
But most of all, she was trembling.
W-What did I just e-experience? Ruby thought as she put her hand over her chest.
She looked to see her team and many others get up, all pale with terror.
She'd grown up on an island filled with grimm, so she was used to the unsettling feeling of fear.
But this…this was different. She didn't feel unsettled like with the grimm, no.
She'd felt like an ant, utterly insignificant in the face of whatever had fired off that beam.
"...H-Holy shit…" Ruby heard Cardin speak as he and his team were frozen.
And then, they heard the howls of the grimm get closer.
"Qrow, what happened?!" Oobleck yelled into his scroll.
"Barty, we are in some deep shit right now!" Ruby could hear her Uncle's Panicked voice.
"What was that light?"
"Look, it's really complicated, but that fire beam completely obliterated a section of the Great Wall. We've got grimm pouring into the kingdom!"
"WHAT?!"
Team RWBY, JNPR and CRDL looked back at Oobleck in shock.
"The Great Wall's been breached?" Blake spoke.
"Where is Ozpin?" Oobleck spoke.
"No response! But get ready, because we're getting grimm now!"
Team RWBY then heard another loud howl and noticed a bunch of new grimm arrive. Ruby could see some sort of large floating grimm in the air throw black sludges right at them.
"Shoot, the explosion's completely thrown our air support into disarray. The Danu have already come."
From the black sludges, beowolves emerged.
Ruby grit her teeth. Now was not the time to be scared. The grimm had now arrived.
"Here they come! Don't let them get past us!" Ruby spoke as Team RWBY charged towards the beowolves.
Ruby fired up her semblance and dashed past a beowolf, coming up behind it before cutting it down with Crescent Rose.
Ruby fired her weapon to launch herself at another grimm, clotheslining it to cut its head off before dodging another swipe and cutting it with a twirl from Crescent Rose.
Ruby continued darting away from the beowolves' blows, cutting or shooting them down with Crescent Rose. Out of the corner of her eye, she could spot her teammates also engaging the grimm.
Ruby suddenly noticed an Ursa run straight up through her, growling as it swung its paw at her. Ruby immediately fired up her semblance to move past the Ursa and reform behind its head, before unloading a few rounds from Crescent Rose to kill it.
Ruby then noticed an Atlesian Paladin come up, firing its ammunition at the approaching grimm which were cut down by the onslaught.
We've got help. Ruby thought with a smile.
"MS. ROSE!" She heard Professor Oobleck yell before he pushed her out of the way to block a swipe from some weird grimm with four blade arms, bladed legs and a spiky head.
"A bladeswipe!" Oobleck spoke before he was forced to dodge an ursa's swipe and dashed back.
"Oh…" Ruby spoke as she found herself facing the bladeswipe alone.
Ruby yelped as the bladeswipe was suddenly in front of her, swinging its leg in a move to take off her head.
Ruby dashed away with her semblance, and shot bullets at the bladeswipe, whichs lid forward while deflecting all her bullets.
Oh, this is not good! Ruby thought as the bladeswipe spun around, elongating its head to swing straight at her like a spike mace.
"Eep!" Ruby screamed as she dashed away with her semblance, with the bladeswipe's head missing her by a few centimeters.
Ruby then continued putting her distance from the bladeswipe, fruitlessly shooting as the bladeswipe deflected all her bullets.
"Just stop blocking already!" Ruby snapped in frustration as the bladeswipe managed to get extremely close and graze her side with another thrust. Ruby turned back before gasping as the bladeswipe's head struck her in the stomach, sending her up against a wall.
Ow… Ruby thought gritting her teeth before moving to the side as the bladeswipe's head crashed straight into the wall before dashing back as the bladeswipe again rapidly stabbed at her.
This thing's really fast. And I'm not as sturdy as Yang. Maybe I could… Ruby thought as she dashed at the bladeswipe again with her semblance, using a lot more energy as she moved forward at much faster speeds.
The bladeswipe was unable to react fast enough this time, as Ruby reformed crashed into it, sending it back.
Okay, okay! I think I got it! Ruby thought as the bladeswipe lunged at her again, only for Ruby to dash away with her semblance and shoot the bladeswipe.
The bladeswipe deflected her bullet and turned back, but Ruby had already reformed behind it and swinging her scythe.
The bladeswipe fell in two halves and started dissolving.
Ruby exhaled. If her semblance wasn't speed-based, she was sure she would not have been able to take down this grimm.
Ruby then noticed more weird grimm with mouths on the bottom raising their right arms.
"Take cover!" Oobleck yelled as Weiss immediately set up glyphs in front of everybody, before Ruby noticed fiery bullets crash against the glyphs.
"They've got guns?!" Yang exclaimed in surprise as the Atlesian paladin moved forward, the bullets bouncing off its hard-light shield before it fired off its own weapons and cut the shooters down.
"Phew…" Ruby spoke before noticing that the beowolves had suddenly lessened.
"Up there!" Blake pointed as Ruby noticed a few more grimm at the roof of a building.
I'm guessing those are beo…
The grimm jumped off the building and landed right in front of the Paladin. Ruby's eyes widened.
The grimm were wolfish like beowolves, but they were even larger than an Ursa, with blood red veins on their bodies along with spines running along their backs and claws of the same color. Their heads were covered in a blood red patch that spread across as veins.
One of the grimm quickly grabbed the Atlesian Paladin, ignoring its bullets, and ripped it in half, before letting out a booming roar that rattled Ruby's skull.
"Bloodhounds!" Oobleck exclaimed as the bloodhounds then stared right at Ruby before charging towards her.
Fireballs hit the other two bloodhounds as Oobleck charged towards them along with a few more soldiers.
"Guys, come to me!" Ruby exclaimed as Yang immediately appeared by the side of the bloodhound, blasting ember celica.
The bloodhound's head snapped to the side, but it was otherwise undamaged. The bloodhound quickly bit into Yang's leg and slammed her to the ground.
"Get away from her!" Ruby exclaimed as she raised Crescent Rose and fired.
The bullets only irritated the Bloodhound as it roared at her before glyphs suddenly appeared before it.
Weiss put up a time dilation glyph with Yang, whose eyes turned crimson before she fired ember celica at the Bloodhound once again, this time staggering it, before Blake threw Gambol Shroud around its neck to drag it down.
The bloodhound thrashed wildly, managing to lift Blake off her feet and swinging her towards a wall.
"Blake!" Ruby spoke as she tackled Blake out of the air and sent both of them to the ground. The bloodhound shook off gambol shroud before receiving a number of punches from Yang.
The bloodhound stumbled back, before suddenly lunging at the paladin, and pulling out the pilot.
"No!" Ruby exclaimed as she went to rescue the pilot, but the bloodhound's jaws closed around the pilot's body and bit it in half, the bloodhound drinking all the pilot's blood.
Ruby then noticed the bloodhound's patches and veins glow, before its right arm twitched and sprouted out a jagged red blade.
Yang charged towards the bloodhound with a yell and swung her fist at it…
Only for the bloodhound to stop it cold with its blade.
Yang's eyes widened, before Weiss came up in a wave of ice and grabbed Yang's arm, dragging her away as the bloodhound smashed the ice with its blade.
The bloodhound bounded forward at much faster speeds than before, going immediately for Ruby, who again dodged its blade with her semblance.
However, when she reformed, she only saw the bloodhound's paw as it slammed her against the ground.
Ruby screamed in pain as Blake shot at the bloodhound, distracting it while Weiss fired a massive ice spike.
The bloodhound sliced it in half with its claw and roared straight onto Ruby's face.
"AAAHH!" Ruby screamed as Weiss came up behind the bloodhound, only for it to whirl around and smash its blade's flat side against Weiss, sending her crashing through the window of an apartment.
Blake again distracted the bloodhound and scooped up Ruby. The bloodhound snapped down as Blake put down an ice dust clone that promptly froze the bloodhound's mouth.
"You alright?" Blake spoke.
"My ears…" Ruby groaned as the bloodhound slammed its snout against the road to break the ice.
"It's a lot tougher after it…"
Ruby scowled at the grimm. "Blake, I need you to do that again but with a fire dust clone." She spoke as Blake nodded and ran towards the bloodhound again.
The Bloodhound slashed down towards Blake, but Ruby was able to block the blow, her knees trembling from the force behind the bloodhound's strike as Ruby grit her teeth and shot a gravity dust round to propel the bloodhound's arm back.
The bloodhound snapped down towards Blake who put up a fire dust clone that exploded in the bloodhound's face.
Ruby at that moment noticed Weiss shakily get out of the building, her face covered in soot.
"Weiss, power up Yang!" Ruby called out as Weiss nodded and enhanced Yang with a time dilation glyph.
"Yang, hit it!" Ruby spoke as Yang's hair ignited before she ran towards the bloodhound which was still stunned from the explosion.
The Bloodhound slammed its claws towards Yang, who slid under it, before grabbing its tail.
The bloodhound turned back to snap at Yang, but she lifted it off its feet and slammed it to the ground in a suplex.
The bloodhound rolled over and swiped at Yang, but Ruby dashed in and blocked the blow with Crescent Rose's blade.
Weiss came up on a path of Glyphs, with myrtenaster's blade wreathed in fire, as she gracefully chopped off the bloodhound's arm.
Yang then punched the Bloodhound to send it sprawling to its back as Ruby jumped up, shifted Crescent Rose into a war scythe and stabbed it down into the bloodhound's shoulder.
"Yang, little help!" Ruby spoke as Yang jumped up and held down the bloodhound with Crescent Rose.
"Finish it off!" Ruby spoke as Blake threw Gambol Shroud at Weiss, who caught it before Blake launched her into the air with a grunt.
Weiss ignited Myrtenaster's blade as a glyph formed in the air, before she dashed down and stabbed the bloodhound in the throat.
The bloodhound then went motionless before dissolving as Ruby let out an explosive sigh.
"Oobleck was not kidding when he said these inland grimm would be a pain in the ass. I didn't think a grimm would be able to stop my semblance-powered punch until today." Yang spoke.
"What happened to that time an Ursa did that?" Ruby asked.
"I didn't have enough juice!"
"Would you two keep your memories out of this?!" Weiss snapped as Ruby noticed more beowolves arriving.
Ruby raised Crescent Rose, before she heard a shriek and looked up to see fiery nevermores charging straight down towards them.
"WEISS!" Ruby screamed as Weiss hastily put up another glyph, before the nevermores dive-bombed them, diving straight into the ground and exploding. One nevermore exploded against Weiss' glyph and shattered it, sending the explosion right up against the girls.
Ruby tumbled away, rolling on the ground as her vision was blurry. Her arm trembled as she noticed Crescent Rose in front of her.
In the distance, Ruby could hear screams and explosions as nevermores dive-bombed other parts of the city.
Ruby noticed Crescent Rose in front of her and grabbed it, wincing as she got up before noticing their street had numerous fires, with a wall of fire just a few meters in front of her.
Ruby then noticed a bunch of grimm completely made out of flame with bone masks emerge from the embers of the flames, some getting on her cloak.
Ruby quickly extinguished the fires before looking around.
She noticed most of her team also struggling to get up, all reeling from the explosion before Ruby noticed something emerge from the flames.
As Ruby's vision cleared, she could make out what it was.
She could tell it was another grimm, but it was perhaps the most humanoid one she had seen so far. It had the shape of a woman, except its body was completely covered in pitch-black robes that extended down to the ground, while its face was also covered by a black cloth.
A crown of grimm bone spikes sat on their head, and Ruby could make out only their hands, which were black like a grimm's and had sharp white claws at the end of them.
Ruby also noticed their robes looked like they'd been stitched together.
Ruby raised Crescent Rose to fire at the grimm, only for the grimm's claws to suddenly shoot out of its fingers, attached to its hands with red cords as the darted straight towards Ruby.
Ruby dashed to the side, but suddenly came out of her semblance because of another one of her pulses.
"Ack!" Ruby spoke, with the grimm taking advantage of the opportunity for its claws to wrap around Ruby's body, covering her mouth and slowly dragging her towards the grimm.
"Mmf!" Ruby exclaimed in a muffled voice as she tried to use her semblance, only for the strings to glow and block her from using it.
The grimm had only two strings out of its fingers and looked down at Ruby before tilting its head.
The grimm then raised its other hand and two claws shot out with strings, each slowly moving down towards Ruby's face…
Before suddenly rotating right above her silver eyes.
"MMPH! MMPH!" Ruby let out muffled screams as the grimm's claws got closer and closer to her eyes…
"RUBES!" Ruby heard Yang scream before the grimm's remaining claws shot out and quickly formed a web that absorbed ember celica's explosion.
Yang rushed towards the grimm with a scream.
Yang, don't! Ruby thought before a blur went past Yang and kicked the grimm back.
"Cut her open, Mr. Arc!" Oobleck yelled as Jaune came up and cut Ruby free.
"Thanks, Jaune." Ruby spoke as Ren helped her up.
"What is that?" Nora spoke as Oobleck frowned.
"That…is A Weaver. Step back and let me handle it."
"But, Professor…" Pyrrha tried to speak up.
"It's Doctor, Ms. Nikos, and that was not a request, but an order." Oobleck replied sternly before he charged at the Weaver, while Team RWBY and JNPR engaged more beowolves that came up.
The weaver also shot its strings towards Oobleck, but the huntsman dodged and flipped over most of its strings as they continued following him.
Oobleck pointed his weapon and fired off fireballs at the Weaver, which immediately constructed a web to block them, Oobleck went up to swing his weapon at the weaver, only for its strings to entangle it.
Oobleck frowned and kicked the weaver back before it could continue its attack before spinning his weapon and letting out flames to burn away the strings entangling it.
Oobleck then fired off a stream of fire straight towards the weaver, which constructed another web to block the fire.
Oobleck then switched Antiquity's roast into a thermos and drank it, before blasting forward at blinding speeds at the Weaver.
The Weaver did not have the time to react before Oobleck came up and smashed Antiquity's roast in its club form against the weaver's head.
Its crown shattered and the weaver fell back shrieking, now unable to sense its surroundings before Oobleck set it ablaze with his weapon.
The Weaver shrieked as its body was completely burned away.
Oobleck then turned back and joined Team RWBY and JNPR.
"So…what was the deal with that grimm?" Nora asked as Oobleck scowled.
"It's crown helps it sense its surroundings, and it attacks by extending its claws through strings."
"And the thing it was about to do with Ruby?"
"What it does to its victims. The Weaver first traps its victim and brings its closer, before it uses its claws to skin the victim alive, before it infuses the skin with grimm essence and stitches it together like a robe to keep its body cool, since it is extremely weak to heat."
Weiss' eyes widened. "Wait a minute, that means…"
"The Weaver's robes are made of grimm-infused human skin, yes. If you hadn't interfered, Ms. Xiao-Long, the weaver would have flayed Ms. Rose alive…"
Ruby paled as Yang frowned at her teacher.
"Not the time to discuss my sister's near death situation, Professor!"
"Doctor, and also my apologies. This is a topic that we shouldn't be discussing."
Around the city, nevermores dive-bombed positions. Unlike Team RWBY, many students did not have success against the grimm. Huntsmen and students were shredded into pieces by bladeswipes, shot dead by shooters, torn apart by bloodhounds or simply flayed by Weavers.
And in the skies, the wyvern was moving into the city. It blew frost down, turning entire streets and the humans inhabiting them into ice.
Many huntsmen tried to melt it with flamethrowers, but they were not enough against the cold of Niflheim.
Ozpin, inside the palace, felt frustration bubble within him.
What happened, Odin? I thought your mana supply would allow my shield to withstand the threats.
It would have, if not for Prometheus' interference. I could sense the power of Olympus' hearth behind that fire, and I unfortunately can only do so much against it.
Now, the grimm had entered the city. The Perkwunos knights were going around helping, but their position had been much advantageous earlier.
Casualties are mounting. Ozpin thought.
With one attack, Prometheus had managed to turn things around.
Ozpin could already sense the wyvern flying towards him. He could feel Prince Robert's hatred emanate from within that wyvern, all intent towards destroying the being who had ruined his human life.
Ozpin, I can sense a large number of phantasmals moving towards us. Odin spoke as Ozpin's eyes widened.
"Over there!" Richard exclaimed as Cú spotted an army of phantasmals moving towards Vale.
The army consisted of Faoladhs along with Trölls and Cyclopes were heading straight for the wall. They were still quite far, but if they reached the wall…
No, no! If those phantasmals join in beside the grimm…
Their forces were already struggling under the onslaught of the grimm. If the phantasmals beasts joined in as well…
Then Vale is doomed. Ozpin thought. With Achilles and the other servants trying to prevent more grimm from entering the kingdom, he couldn't call upon them.
He couldn't get up from the throne, otherwise the knights would disappear and make things worse.
No, this can't be how this ends.
Ozpin could feel the wyvern's mouth open, building up energy as it prepared to blow the palace into pieces.
Ozpin grit his teeth.
Was he going to fail his promise?
Was he going to fail everyone like this?
Had Salem won?
The wyvern finally charged up its beam.
Ozpin winced, and in the process, subsequently sent out a prayer for a miracle.
Back in the well of fate, Verdandi felt a faint call for help come up.
"That's odd." She muttered before looking at Skuld. "That doesn't seem to be like a resident of our world."
Skuld was silent as she continued inscribing runes, before flashes of Sigurd's and Cú's faces came up.
A soft smile came upon Skuld's lips.
"It seems Remnant is about to witness the reenactment of two legends."
Before the wyvern could fire off its beam, something crashed into it.
"Thurisaz!" Sigurd yelled as he stabbed down Gram, causing the wyvern to scream in pain, it's mouth stopping its attack.
"Nauthiz!" Sigurd yelled as the wyvern thrashed, with Sigurd forcefully directing the wyvern to fly away from the Palace.
The wyvern flew frantically out of Vale, before it and Sigurd crashed onto nearby plains in the distance.
As the army of phantasmals reached the wall, they noticed someone waiting for them.
Cú stood grinning, standing lazily with Gáe Bolg on his shoulder.
"Would you look at that, a big bad army of monsters." He spoke.
"You all are itching to kill some humans for yourself, aren't you?" He asked cheerfully before taking his stance.
"Well, sorry about that. I can't let you do that." Cú spoke before pulling out another runestone that he asked Sigurd to make for him.
On the runestone was a shining Othala.
"...!" Ozpin exclaimed as he suddenly felt another presence divert the wyvern away, along with something else stopping the phantasmal army.
This could only mean one thing!
They're here! Ozpin thought, all his frustration suddenly turning into elation as he felt the presence of Sigurd and the other servants come up as well.
The huntsmen from oakshire dropped down from the sky to act as reinforcements for the kingdom, all reinforced by Sigurd's runes and Richard.
These huntsmen fell upon the grimm, killing a lot more than their counterparts and giving them breathing space, while the Atlesian army began moving for a counterattack to push back the grimm.
They've given us a chance for victory! Ozpin thought, before he sensed something familiar.
"..." Ozpin immediately got up from his throne. Now that Vale had reinforcements, the Perkwunos knights had served his purpose.
Besides, he needed to be more active…
…Because Cinder Fall had arrived.
Emerald suddenly noticed the roof above her cell glow hot. Emerald scrambled to the corner as the metal turned molten and fell to the ground.
"What the…?" Emerald questioned before noticing Prometheus come up.
Prometheus quickly grabbed her and flew off with her off of Ironwood's warship.
Did he just…?
"Don't consider this an act of kindness on my part, Emerald Sustrai." Prometheus spoke.
"You would have posed a risk in leaking out information, so I have saved you…for now."
Prometheus took Emerald towards the Royal palace and landed near its roof.
"Well, now…"
Prometheus suddenly raised his hand to block a green laser.
"Hm, I should have known you would have followed us…Android." He spoke turning around to look at Penny.
"You are certainly an interesting machine. A mechanical body, but a human soul because of aura. You may not be as marvelous as the immortal citizens of Olympus, but I have to give my compliments to your creator." Prometheus replied as Penny's blades came up.
"You are trespassing with an enemy of Vale and Atlas. I cannot let you leave." Penny replied.
"Of course not. Your humanity is an artificial reconstruction by aura, bound by the limitations of your programming. Of course, one of those also indicates difficulty in gauging supernatural threats…" Prometheus spoke before blocking another laser with his hand.
"A shame that Atlas had to spend so much money and research on you." He spoke before his fingers glowed with energy.
Meanwhile, Roman sat on his bed in prison. He'd heard everything, and he was pretty sure it would be time before the grimm came knocking upon his doorway.
And to think I once thought I could have fun with little red. Roman thought before noticing the wall beside him heat up.
It suddenly blew open, as Roman raised his arms before looking to see a hole in his wall, with a familiar person standing.
Roman slumped.
"Took you long enough…" He muttered as Cinder had a scowl on her face.
"Enough wasting time, Roman." She spoke as Neo came up behind her, winking at Roman.
"We have to get to the Royal Palace."
As Ruby fought, she suddenly felt her heart pounding.
Ruby's silver eyes started flickering.
Oh, what's happening now… Ruby suddenly heard screams.
"Help us!"
"Somebody, please get us out!"
"Mommy, where are you?!"
"Huh…?" Ruby spoke turning around. The citizens should have been located by now, so why…?
Ruby shook her head.
Stop hallucinating, Ruby! Ruby thought and tried to focus back on the fight.
But the screams continued in her ears.
As they continued, Ruby suddenly started doubting whether she was hallucinating.
What if…
What if they were real?
If they were real, then there were people who needed help, but no one was coming for them!
And if no one did, and the grimm came for them…
NO! Ruby thought. She'd already watched so many people die because of the grimm. Because of her mistakes…
…She was not going to let more people die on her watch.
"I-I need to go!" Ruby spoke as Yang looked at her.
"Go? Ruby, what are you…" Yang tried to speak but Ruby was gone.
Ruby didn't know how, but somehow she was able to sense the location of the people crying for help.
Ruby didn't notice her silver eyes had a faint glow as she stopped at the first location.
It was a building which had completely collapse, inside of which, Ruby could hear a person.
A bunch of beowolves were sniffing the area, before looking straight at Ruby. Ruby quickly cut them down before looking at the rubble.
Ruby immediately went up and began pushing away the concrete. She may not be very strong compared to her sister, but she was still a huntress-in-training, which much enhanced abilities than a regular human.
Ruby quickly removed the concrete to see a woman inside.
"H-Help…"
"Don't worry, ma'am! I'll get you!" Ruby spoke as she began removing more and more of the rocks before getting her out.
At that moment, Ruby had an idea. She'd been told a long time ago that her semblance was basically her splitting into a mass of rose petals and moving with it.
If she could do that, did that mean…
"Ok, hold on, ma'am!" Ruby spoke before she fired up her semblance and dashed forward.
Ruby could hear the woman's screams as she passed through the streets and smiled. She could carry other people with her as well, even if it made her slower.
Ruby immediately brought the woman to the air raid shelter, where there were a bunch of atlesian soldiers.
"Wait!" Ruby spoke as the atlesian soldiers raised their rifles, only to see her with the woman.
"I'm a Beacon student! I found her trapped underneath the rubble!"
The soldiers quickly took the woman into the shelter.
"Good job, kid." One of them spoke, nodding to her.
"Hold on, there's a lot more people trapped! I'll bring them to you!" Ruby spoke before dashing off.
What's Ruby up to now? Yang thought as her sister dashed off. She'd been hoping her sister would show up at some point of time, but she still hadn't come back.
"Profes…Doctor!" Yang spoke. "Ruby's gone off somewhere!"
Oobleck looked around.
"Ms. Xiao-Long, cover me." He spoke before stepping back to pick up his scroll.
"Does anyone have a visual of a young girl with a red cloak wielding a scythe!" He spoke into the scroll.
"We do, sir!" A voice came from the scroll. "Some kid like that showed up with a civilian. Said she was trapped and went off to rescue more trapped civilians!"
WBY stopped to look at Oobleck.
"...I see." He spoke before cutting off.
"Ruby's doing what?" Yang asked as Oobleck smiled back at her.
"Ms. Rose is doing what a true huntsman should do. Getting the trapped civilians to safety."
"But I thought everyone's been evacuated to the air raid shelters?"
"Apparently, we were wrong. There were still some people who hadn't got there in time or were unable to."
"But how did Ruby know this?" Weiss asked.
"That…I don't know. It is quite odd how Ms. Rose suddenly knew of this, or how she already managed to find the civilians so quickly."
"But…she's gone alone! We need to go get her!" Yang spoke.
"That is right now extremely difficult. Ms. Rose is constantly moving at high speeds right now, and we would be leaving our position unguarded."
"But we can't just…"
"As much as it pains me to say this, we cannot risk the civilian's lives right now! We just have to hope your sister is able to make through this!"
Yang felt anger build up within her. That didn't mean she wasn't still concerned about her little sister! What if Ruby actually got hurt?
"...Ms. Xiao-Long, if it comforts you, there is a less likely chance Ms. Rose would venture beyond our area. She therefore shouldn't be able to encounter anything too difficult for her to take down. Besides, with the number of huntsmen around, Ms. Rose will receive help in case she is attacked."
Yang clenched her jaw.
Yang's scroll suddenly rung.
What now?! Yang thought in frustration as she picked it up.
"Hello?"
"Ms. Xiao-Long." Ozpin's voice came from the other side. "I need you to get to the Royal Palace right now!"
"What? What's happened?"
"Cinder Fall is coming there to take on the rest of the Maiden Powers. I need you here right now!"
"What about our position?"
"I've sent some huntsmen there! Right now, you need to go!"
But…Ruby… Yang thought. She wanted to go find her sister, but at the same time, she didn't want to leave the Fall Maiden at Cinder's mercy.
Doctor Oobleck did say Ruby would be fine. Yang thought.
She spent a few minutes thinking about what she was going to do, before making her decision.
"Doctor! Ozpin's calling me to the Royal Palace! He says he's sending huntsmen to our position!" Yang spoke as Oobleck looked back.
"If that is the case, are you going alone?"
"Ye…"
"Hold on, what's going on?" Weiss asked as Yang turned to her.
"Ozpin's called me for…secret stuff." Yang spoke in a whisper as Weiss frowned.
"Then we're coming with you."
"What? Guys…"
"Yang Xiao-Long. We're all in this together. I don't like leaving Ruby alone in this, but I'm not letting you go do this without me and Blake coming along."
Yang couldn't protest under Weiss' ice-cold glare.
"We're coming as well." Yang looked to see JNPR come up.
"Now wait a minute…"
"Let them come. Reinforcements would be nice." Blake spoke.
"Blake…!" Yang spoke turning to her.
"Yang, we won't let them come too deep." Blake spoke before looking towards JNPR.
"You can come, but only to a certain point." She spoke as Jaune nodded.
"Fair enough, where's Ruby?"
"She's right now busy with her own problems…" Weiss spoke quickly. "If you're coming, then let's go!"
An armored car arrived depositing huntsmen, before WBY and JNPR got in.
"Good luck, all of you!" Oobleck called out as the armored car quickly took off towards the Royal Palace.
Meanwhile, Tristan was at the wall, shooting down grimm.
Go…
Tristan heard that same voice once again. The voice of the wraith at Amity Arena.
"Where…?"
Go…to the palace…
The palace…why at the…
Choice is the Root of Kingship…
Tristan frowned. He didn't have time to ponder something like that…
They are all metaphors…
Metaphors? But how did that mat…
Wait. Tristan thought.
Choice is the Root of Kingship…
Choice is the Root of Kingship…
Choice…
The Crown of Choice…
The Royal Palace of Vale…
"Ah!" Tristan exclaimed.
"How did I not see it sooner?!" He exclaimed as Robin looked at him.
"Uh, what's wrong?"
"I need to leave immediately!" Tristan spoke as he got onto his spectral horse.
"Wait, where are you going?"
"The Royal Palace! Something's about to happen!" Tristan spoke before galloping off.
Things had gone to shit in Vale ever since Prometheus decided to let loose his big fire beam.
Grimm had entered the city, and pretty much everybody was seriously busy in fighting them off.
As Qrow cut down another grimm, he suddenly noticed a familiar raven on a lamp post.
Oh, what the hell does Rae want now? Qrow thought as the raven beckoned him to follow it.
Qrow grit his teeth and broke away from the fighting to follow the raven into an alleyway.
"What is it, Rae?" Qrow asked as the raven transformed back to his sister.
Raven smirked. "Well, I didn't imagine I'd be here in Vale."
"Yeah, how're you still here in Vale?"
"I wasn't. I booked it out of here after one of the enemy's damn spies spotted me. My boss called me up to come to Vale once again."
"Your boss? You have a boss?"
"He's a servant, here in Vale. He kicked my ass some time back, and ever since I've been working for him. But anyways, I need you to listen very carefully."
Qrow noticed the slight fear in his sister's expression. That meant there was something serious.
"Alright, what is it?"
Cinder stood in front of the palace with Mercury, Emerald, Semiramis, Roman, Neo and…Adam.
"So, what is this 'secret' you are so inclined to show me?" Adam asked as Cinder looked back.
Patience, Adam, patience." She spoke before looking at the others.
"All of you, keep guard. Make sure no one else comes."
Roman shook his head. "Really? First time I'm out of jail and I'm put on…Alright, I'll do it." He spoke when he noticed Cinder's hands ignite.
"Come on, Adam." Cinder spoke as she and Adam entered.
The armored car stopped right in front of the main gates as WBY and JNPR came out.
"Come on, we need to move quickly!" Yang spoke as the group began rushing through the Royal Palace grounds.
"So, Yang. Why are we here?" Nora asked.
"It's…well, it's something secret only me and Ozpin know of. I'm really sorry but I can't explain right now."
"What? Why not?!"
"Nora, it's…really important."
"Nora." Ren spoke one word and Nora frowned, but didn't push the issue any further.
On the way, Yang spotted the statue of Thane, with its background lit up by the fires that had started up in Vale.
Yang cast a longing look at it before continuing forward.
Weiss suddenly squinted her eyes before they widened.
"No way…"
"Oh my goodness! Is that Ice queen that I see?" Roman Torhcwick spoke with a grin as he twirled his cane, along with Mercury, Emerald and Neo.
Shit, Cinder's already put other people here? Yang thought.
"Um…Is that Roman Torchwick?" Jaune spoke.
"Really, really dangerous people." Yang spoke in caution.
"Cinder must have brought you all." Blake spoke as Roman nodded.
"That she did, Kitty cat. Honestly, I don't know what is wrong with her? After so much time, she finally decides to break yours truly out of prison and what does the first thing she does?"
"She puts me on guard duty!"
Neo shook her head in sadness.
"Seriously, I don't regret joining her and all, but Roman Torchwick as a nightguard." Roman spoke before sighing.
"It's insane."
"Roman." Emerald spoke with edge in her voice while Mercury cracked his knuckles.
"Can we just get onto the job now?" He asked. "I haven't really got to show what I can really do to Blondie over here."
"Yeah, yeah. Anyways, welcome to the Royal Palace! That will be 100 lien per person! Sorry, there's no discount, because right now, we're sitting in the middle of the apocalypse!" Roman spoke spreading his arms.
"..."
"You don't have the money. Then sorry," Roman spoke pointing his cane.
"I can't let you in."
Yang scowled as she and the others took their stances.
"Really?" A dry voice spoke as Yang noticed a familiar crow come in and transform into uncle Qrow, who dropped to the ground and walked up.
"Well, sorry to you too. These kids have a special discount from Oz himself. They get to go in free."
Roman mock gasped. "Oh, Qrow Branwen! It is so good to see you! May I have your autograph?" He spoke with a grin as Qrow shook his head.
"Nope. I'm just here to clear out the way and put you all back into the prison."
Roman grinned. "Well…I don't think…"
"That wasn't a request." A familiar voice spoke as Yang's eyes widened.
"...Mom?" He spoke as Raven Branwen dropped from the sky and landed with her sword stabbed into the ground.
The other people looked at her.
"Wait a minute, did you just call her…mom?" Jaune asked.
"Woah, I think I can actually see the resemblance!" Nora spoke as Raven looked up.
She then looked at Mercury. "So, what was that you wanted to show to my daughter again?"
Mercury gulped as Raven's eyes stared right at him.
"That's right. You know what, I can show you something in return." She spoke before flourishing her blade.
"I can show you the same beatdown I gave your stupid asshole of a dad when he decided to pick a fight with the Branwen Tribe."
"Hoo, Tai stabbing his eyes out, you cutting his legs off…Poor Marcus had it rough." Qrow muttered.
Emerald looked at Roman, who stared nervously.
"Um…"
"Don't even think about it. I didn't get out of jail just to get myself skewered by Raven Branwen moments later."
"You're running?"
"Heck yeah, I am! I'm getting roasted by Cinder either way. So let me just survive as much as I can!" Roman spoke running off.
"Yeah, the idiot's right. No way I'm going up against Raven Branwen of all people." Mercury spoke as Emerald looked at him.
"What, you too?!"
"Look, I'm an assassin for hire. Cinder got me into this shit for money, but in case you don't know, that's the bitch who gave my dad the biggest reality check of his life. I'm not going for the same thing."
At that point, all four of them ran off.
Yang stared dumbly at her mother, who looked back at her…and smiled.
"Go to Oz…Firecracker." She spoke before she ran off to pursue the fleeing criminals.
"Well, I didn't expect something like that out of Rae of all people. Go get 'em, Firecracker." Qrow spoke before going off as well.
Yang smiled before looking at Jaune.
"Look, as much as I hate to say it, but you have to stay here."
Jaune looked down before looking up. "Just stay safe, alright?" He spoke as Yang nodded before she, Weiss and Blake entered the palace as well.
Ozpin was sitting on his throne when Cinder arrived.
Cinder's eyes sparkled when she noticed Amber's pod right behind him. She was so close to completing what she'd failed to do almost a year ago.
She could still remember Sigurd's sword as it had cut through her arm, depriving her of what was hers for such a long time.
Now…all that she needed was to bring down this old fool, and the power would be hers.
She noticed Adam looking at Ozpin quietly.
"..."
"Nothing to say, Adam?" She asked as Adam remained silent.
Meanwhile, Ozpin looked up at them, with one of his eyes hazel and the other a deep blue.
"Good evening, Ms. Fall." Ozpin spoke calmly as Cinder scowled.
His voice is too calm for a man whose kingdom was on the verge of collapse. She thought as she summoned her bow.
"So, you managed to get her out of Beacon?"
"Yes. She was very important after all."
Cinder snorted. "Important that it was the only thing keeping your precious vault safe." She spoke.
"..."
"You did quite a fine job, recruiting the servant who prevented me from taking the power, and then making sure I am unable to set a foot into Beacon without you taking action."
"..."
"But, I had some truly useful help. You've spent a lot of energy defending Vale, and now you do not have enough to fight me. And with that, you are now vulnerable." Cinder spoke before raising her bow, and pointing it at Amber.
She filled the arrow with some of the maiden's power, in order to make sure Ozpin didn't try to protect her with magic.
"Adam." Cinder spoke as Adam stared at Ozpin silently, before walking up to the old man.
Ozpin continued to look down as Adam unsheathed his blade and rested it against Ozpin's throat.
"Cinder, are you ready to explain? Or do I need to kill this old man to get answers." Adam spoke impatiently.
"Hold on." Cinder spoke before nocking her arrow.
Finally…
Finally after years of training…
Years of being treated like garbage by society…
She would get the power to make them pay.
She make them kneel as she put her foot on their heads, and she would make them see what she felt like.
Cinder's thoughts were suddenly interrupted as a red symbol glowed on Amber's pod, the girl letting out a soft gasp before she closed her eyes and fell motionless.
Huh? Cinder thought as she noticed Ozpin was smiling.
She then felt it. The power finally become complete within her.
Yet, Cinder felt a sense of dread wash over her.
Adam's blade suddenly glowed green as it moved away from Ozpin's neck.
"...!" Adam grunted and tried to place it back, but Ozpin simply flicked his fingers and tossed Adam away.
Ozpin then got up, as Cinder suddenly felt a huge amount of magical power accumulate within the throne room, dwarfing hers by a large comparison.
"...You got one thing wrong, Ms. Fall." Ozpin spoke.
"Amber was not important to protect the Vault. Amber was important in the sense that she was the bait to lure you."
"You see, I encountered someone some time back. They had made sure no one outside of my circle ever found out about their presence…" Ozpin spoke before his body glowed with a green aura as he rose into the air.
"You had a god help you. So, I had a god help me." He spoke. "Right now, even a fully realized Maiden would not be any match for me. Even the 'servants', despite all their strength and power, would be unable to stand up to me."
"You see, Cinder Fall...I was waiting for you."
Cinder quickly sent a stream of fire, only for Ozpin to block it by raising his right hand.
Cinder's eyes widened at the casual ease at which her attack was stopped.
"You certainly would have put me down…had I not taken outside help." Ozpin spoke before scowling.
"I will rip out the Fall Maiden from your corpse, Cinder, and I will make sure someone worthier is wielding it." He spoke in a voice that sent chills down Cinder's spine.
At that moment, Cinder heard the doors open to see three of the members of Team RWBY come in.
"Ah, perfect timing, Ms. Xiao-Long." Ozpin spoke as Blake stared at Adam.
"Adam…?"
"Hello, Blake. Quite an interesting…reunion." Adam spoke as Cinder looked back at Ozpin.
Where did he get so much power? Why didn't Shirou make any mention of this?! Cinder thought frantically.
She'd come in thinking it would be easy. That despite Oz's power, he would eventually be put down by her powers…
…But now that he had his own powers…
Suddenly, something crashed through the ceiling and landed beside Cinder. Cinder noticed Prometheus stand up at stare at Ozpin.
WBY gaped at the sight of the Titan.
"Oz, who the hell is this?!" Yang spoke as Ozpin frowned.
"I was hoping you'd be busy elsewhere."
"Hm, the idiot by the name of Cinder Fall decided to come and try to take the power by force. I had to make sure nothing inconvenient happened." Prometheus spoke before looking at WBY.
"Ah, hello again, Ms. Belladonna. I do wonder where Ms. Rose went." Prometheus spoke as Blake's eyes widened.
"T-The Carrier?" She spoke as Weiss' and Yang's eyes bugged out.
"Hold on…this is the bastard that almost roasted you?!" Yang asked Blake.
"Yeah, but he was definitely a human the last time I saw him! Not some kind of 10-foot tall robot!" Blake spoke.
Prometheus looked at Cinder. "...Leave."
"Leave? But…"
"You have the Fall Maiden inside you. Even you can see you are no match for Ozpin right now. We can come back to the Vault later. Right now, it is important that you escape." Prometheus spoke before suddenly blasting forward, grabbing Ozpin as the two of them flew out of the window.
Damn it. I thought I could take him on, but Prometheus is right. Cinder thought before suddenly flying to get out of the courtroom.
"Oh, no you don't!" She heard a voice exclaim before Yang Xiao-Long suddenly jumped onto her, grabbing her as both of them flew through the palace hallways.
"Gah, get off me you…Ack!" Cinder tried to speak, only to receive a punch to the face before she elbowed Yang. However, Yang held on as the two of them flew through the hallways.
Soon, they went crashing out of the door and kept flying into the palace grounds, right above JNPR's heads.
"Woah, what just happened?!" Jaune spoke as he noticed Yang and Cinder fly through the air.
"Yang's fighting someone! We need to go!" Pyrrha spoke as she immediately dashed off, running quickly towards where Yang and Cinder had flown away.
Jaune went to follow, only for chains to suddenly materialize to block his, Nora's and Ren's path.
They noticed Semiramis come up with a yawn.
"Haah, having to deal with a bunch of teenagers. Honestly, I leave for a moment, and the other four have run away like cowards." Semiramis spoke as Jaune frowned.
"Who are you?"
"Why, I am your superior in every way, you little brat." Semiramis replied with a smirk. " Shame your hoplite friend was able to go. I guess Cinder will have to deal with her and the hot-headed brawler."
"Get out of the way and let us get to Pyrrha, lady!" Nora spoke as Semiramis smiled before summoning more chains.
"Oh of course not, little girl. I've been unable to have some fun this entire time. Maybe playing with you would finally give me some respite."
Yang and Cinder crash landed on an open field in the palace ground, both tumbling before they glared at each other.
"What do you think you're doing?" Cinder spoke as the both of them got up.
"Well, it's pretty simple. You're the thief who's trying to steal the maiden, and I'm supposed to get the maiden. So, I can't let you escape just like that."
Cinder snorted. "I don't want to waste my time with the likes of you."
Yang smiled. "Aw, is the big, bad maiden scared to fight little old me? Maybe getting the Maiden powers doesn't matter a lot, since you'll still be a coward."
Cinder's nostrils flared. "...Watch your tongue, before I burn you into ashes."
"Oh come on, Femme Fatale stuff? Lady, you're going to make me die of embarrassment!" Yang exclaimed before noticing Pyrrha show up.
"Oh, no! Even the Invincible Girl's here! Now you're definitely going to run like a scaredy cat!"
"..."
Cinder was silent before her hands ignited.
"Alright then. First I'll cut that tongue of yours out, then I'll be off on my way." She growled.
"Yang, who is she again?"
"Well, P-money, you're looking at the one responsible for all of this." Yang spoke as Pyrrha's expression turned into a fierce scowl.
"...Is that so?" She asked in a cold voice.
"Yeah. But watch out, she's going to be really tough." Yang spoke as Pyrrha nodded.
Yang smiled at that. Even after their match, it still seemed nice that the both of them were still friends and willing to work together.
As Cinder rose up in the air, Yang looked at Pyrrha again.
"Hey, P-money?"
"Yeah?"
"Sorry for beating you to pulp earlier."
"Sorry for doing the same."
"Yeah, we kicked each other's asses enough. Now, let's kick this bitch's, shall we?"
Pyrrha smirked. "With pleasure."
"I do wonder why Shirou didn't inform me of this." Prometheus spoke as he landed on the roof with Ozpin, both facing each other.
"Perhaps, he didn't do his job as well as he intended to."
"...Shirou did what he had to. I am merely making sure his sacrifice does not go to waste." Ozpin replied as Prometheus sighed.
"That sentimentality is what got me chained to a rock." Prometheus spoke crossing his arms.
Ah, his story. Ozpin thought.
"Before we get down to it, I want to ask something."
Prometheus put a finger to his chin. "Well, I do not see any harm from it. What?"
"What is your reason for all this?"
"My reason? As in, how am I working against humanity when I was famous for giving humanity fire in the first place?"
Ozpin nodded.
"Why, that is quite simple. The humans do love twisting the story to make me seem more attached and compassionate to their kind. However, my reasons were quite different."
"As you know, we Titans were the first to descend upon the planet of Earth for colonization. We set up our base at Mount Othrys, and each Titan had their role."
"Among them, my role was serving as the Engineering and Logistics Armory Ship, something which was taken over by Hephaestus with the rise of Olympus. Of course, because Demeter did not exist at that time, I shared the function of resource manufacturing with my brother Epimetheus."
"Our Flagship Cronus was quite interested in the concept of Human worship as was evident from the worship of the planet's spirits by prehistoric humans. Hence, me and Epimetheus were tasked with creating our own Hominid organisms which would worship us, and in turn, increase our power and influence."
"And so, we created humans of the species Homo Aureum, who were chosen to serve the Titans and in turn, we would guide them to prosperity. That…was something of an experiment to me."
"How far could we take Hominid intelligence to innovate before they grew rebellious? The experiment failed with Homo Aureum and its successor Homo Argentum, and initial success was achieved with Homo Sapiens."
"I always desired for humanity to move forward, while maintaining enough respect for the Gods to keep them around."
"I merely gave them fire, to jump start the process and it worked quite efficiently…until the Age of Man came along in Greece."
"Now, coming onto your world, Remnant is correctly named. Your species, which I designate as Homo Umbra, have degraded from your selves in the Age of Mystery, even being unable to establish yourselves as the dominant species of this planet."
"Henceforth, what I'm doing is in the end…another experiment. Can your humanity truly be able to survive in the face of adversities such as this? Does it deserve to survive on this planet…or must it be replaced by something better?"
…What did he just say? Ozpin thought.
Did Prometheus do all of this, simply because he treated humans as nothing more than lab rats?
Like him, Prometheus had sought to foster human progress. Yet, Ozpin had done it because he loved humanity more than anything else.
Prometheus…he did it for his own selfish reasons.
"So, that was my boring and long speech of my reasons. Now, I see you have called upon him to help you…"
"But, there is something strange. You have Odin stuck with you…yet you somehow don't. The god with you feels like Odin, yet at the same time he isn't."
"..."
Odin?
…
He'll have to see about this later.
"Whether or not I have Odin doesn't matter. Right now, all that matters is for me to bring you down…"
"...You attacked my school, you harmed my students and you now attack my Kingdom…one that I have been protecting for thousands of years." Ozpin spoke as Long Memory began glowing.
"I will make sure you receive the punishment for all the suffering you've caused."
"Hm, you may have been worshipped in the past, but you are nothing more than a False God." Prometheus spoke.
"...And I will show you the power of a True God."
Cú clutched the runestone in his hand as he stared at the army of phantasmals approaching him.
He could still remember the first time he met Sigurd, back when he helped him beat the Wendigo in the town of Sauvage.
After that, he could also remember making life an absolute nightmare for the students of Beacon in his wilderness survival classes.
He couldn't believe that so many things had happened in a year. It almost felt like it was yesterday.
And now…Those kids are fighting an invasion. Cú thought with a scowl. He was no stranger to the brutality of war, he'd himself died at the age of 27.
When he was their age, he was just a proud and stubborn brat who'd just killed Culann's hound. He wasn't fighting against literal abominations revolted by even nature trying to bring down cities.
He felt pity for the little lasses and lads who'd been forced to endure this ordeal…
…So he couldn't allow their efforts to go to waste.
Cú knew Vale was fucked if those Phantasmals reached the wall. For the sake of everyone in Vale, he needed to stop them here and now…
…Even if it meant he had to take on the army by himself.
No biggie. If I can take on Medb's army, I can definitely do this. I just wish Gáe Bolg wasn't blocked off to me. Cú thought before taking a deep breath, feeling the raindrops fall on his shoulders.
"...For the lads of Beacon." He spoke before crushing the runestone, feeling the power of the sun flow through his body as his eyes started glowing again.
Cú lifted his spear, now glowing with light once again.
All was silent as the phantasmals rushed towards him before….
"YAAAAAAAHHHHHH!" Cú yelled as he ran forward, charging to meet the army head-on.
Sigurd stood, his mask staring coldly at the wyvern which had now risen in the air.
Sigurd noticed the ground around him freeze over, along with frost forming on his armor.
He'd managed to divert the Wyvern away from Vale. With Cú dealing with the phantasmals and the huntsmen pushing back the grimm, all Sigurd needed was to kill the wyvern.
After that, Vale would eventually prevail over the grimm.
Sigurd looked around at the ice forming around him.
There was one way he could ensure he wasn't too affected by the ice…
Sigurd could only think of the flames around Brynhildr when he found her.
Again, Sigurd would never consider fire to be nothing other than a destructive force, something that would strike fear into his heart whenever he saw it…
"But right now, I need that destructive power to get through this." Sigurd muttered before slowly putting his finger against Gram's blade and started inscribing a rune he thought he would never ever use in his life.
"...Kenaz." Sigurd spoke as Gram's blade blazed to life, melting some of the ice around it.
Sigurd felt his body freeze up slightly with fear, but he kept a hold of himself.
If Fire was the element that would be instrumental in bringing down this wyvern, then he could keep his personal feelings under control.
This is it. The Final clash. Sigurd thought.
The wyvern let out a roar before Sigurd started running towards it.
A/N: Almost there, everyone! We got more new grimm come up as the grimm enter the city. And after that, we're all set up for the Final Clashes. Tomorrow, I'll start working on the final chapter of the Vale Arc!
Boy am I going to be so happy when I finish off Chapter-52.
Hope you guys enjoyed and constructive criticism is appreciated!
Foot Notes:
Bloodhounds: Bloodhounds are like really, really, big beowolves who have all blood-red veins and patches on the bodies along with spines and claws. The Bloodhounds can grow an extremely durable blade on their right arm after they consume human blood, which also increases their speed, agility and strength.
Basically, I saw the really cool red grimm in a Team DARK video and wanted to incorporate them into this story because they're just too cool to pass up.
Weavers: Weavers are humanoid grimm who can sense their surroundings through the crown of grimm bone sitting on top of their heads. The Weavers can shoot out their claws on strings from their fingers to trap their prey and bring them close to the grimm. The grimm then flay them alive, and then infuse the human skin with grimm essence to stitch up a cloak to protect it from heat.
Again, I was thinking 'How can I make the most Dark Souls enemy ever?' from which I made up the concept for this grimm.
Embers: Small grimm that form out of the embers of fires. They're not that strong, but if they collectively attack a human, they could burn them to death.
Flaming Nevermores: They're just regular nevermores, which merge themselves with Embers to superheat their bodies, as a result of which they are consumed by a sudden instinct to simply destroy themselves in a fiery explosion. Basically, they are the kamikaze units among the grimm.
Again, I wanted a sort of armageddon upon Vale, so I included them.
Oobleck's semblance: Now, this guy once theorized that Oobleck's semblance is powered by his coffee. It is pretty silly, but I just couldn't think of something else and kept it that way, but put a twist.
Oobleck's semblance requires him to convert energy from dust to greatly increase his speed. Of course, the safest way for him to do that is to drink his coffee which is laced with liquid fire dust to help with his semblance.
Some fanfic had Oobleck's coffee be apparently spiced up by fire dust, so I did the same thing, just to make sure Oobleck's love for coffee is made a bit significant while at the same time not making his semblance something silly.
Response to Reviews:
And there's no reviews. Well, that's fine.
