Naruto was walking back towards his apartment after team seven's little celebration lunch. Sakura had dragged a struggling Naruto away from Ichiraku's towards an actual restaurant while Sasuke followed. The food there was good, but in Naruto's mind it just couldn't compare to the blissful taste of his favorite ramen.

He suddenly came to a halt.

From the corner of his eye he could spot a large rectangular box behind him, painted to have a semblance of a rock.

Naruto walked a bit forward and ginned internally as he sensed the "rock" sprout 3 pairs of legs and move closer towards him. He picked up the pace as the sentient stone tried to keep up. The blonde quickly stopped and turned towards the rock as it flipped over from the sudden halt, showing the trio groaning from hitting their head on the ground.

A hand emerged from the entanglement with a smoke bomb, releasing a cloud of smoke causing some of the passerby to look over in curiosity.

The smoke finally cleared to reveal the Konohamaru corps, who after their coughing fit from the smoke, introduced themselves to an amused Naruto

"It's impressive you were able to see through my amazing disguise!" Konohamaru exclaimed, "Proof that you are worthy of being my rival!" Moegi and Udon nodded their heads in agreement behind him.

The curious onlookers scowled on seeing the grandson of the hokage acting friendly with the demon brat, but didn't do anything. Naruto didn't bother to mind them, and the children were completely oblivious of the glares.

Naruto finally asked them, "So, why were you guys following me?"

Konohamaru adjusted the goggles on his forehead and replied, "You gotta train me to become stronger than my gramps and be hokage, of course!"

"And why do I gotta do that? You just said we're rivals, right? Why would I help you get stronger and give you a better chance to beat me?"

Konohamaru tried to find an answer for that when he felt Naruto's hand on his head. He ruffled his hair. "Besides, I'm busy right now. However, if you keep training then I might get the time to teach you a new jutsu later."

Naruto waved goodbye to the Konohamaru Corps and walked away just before Ebisu showed up. Naruto grinned as he heard the jonin instructor lecture the young Sarutobi until the kid had enough and ran away again, with his friends running with him.

As Naruto walked down the street, he could very distinctly feel the waves of killing intent that was pushed in his direction by the many residents of the village as he passed by. He realized that this constant exposure to such levels of killing intent for a large period of his life is probably what made his own killing intent form to such a degree without killing many people.

Naruto finally reached his apartment and sat down on his bed with his legs crossed. He had been meaning to do this ever since he arrived back in time but hadn't gotten a proper opportunity until now.

He closed his eyes and concentrated on his breathing. Breathe in. Breathe out. Breathe in. Breathe out.

He continued this for a while until he heard a sound. The sound of water dripping.

Naruto opened his eyes and found himself in a very familiar sewer system.

He wandered the corridors of the sewer until he reached his destination. A large room with massive iron bars with some ornate features spanning the entire opposite wall. At the center of the cage was a single seal tag.

Naruto walked towards the cage and yelled out, "Hello?!"

A pair of glowing red eyes appeared in the vast expanse of darkness followed by a menacing growl as the form of the fearsome Nine Tailed Fox showed itself to its jailor.

Naruto closed his eyes and waited for the death threats to emerge from the beast's mouth, but none came.

He opened his eyes and looked towards the fox questioningly.

The Large fox looked at the human in front of him and responded, a hint of curiosity and fear in his tone, "Who are you?"

Naruto met the kyuubi's gaze, and after a short staring contest, sighed and gave in, "How did you figure it out?"

"I was taking a nap when I felt a massive surge of spiritual energy enter the brat-... your body. I opened my eyes to check and you were acting weird. I got curious and checked your memories to find tons of memories that didn't belong to you."

"So shouldn't those memories answer your question?" Naruto asked.

"Don't think of me as some idiot. I know the capabilities of you humans. A person with that much yin chakra could easily create some fake memories to try to get me to work with you. I'm telling you now, there's no way I'm helping you and there's no way that a tiny brat like you can be like what you made out in those memories."

Naruto frowned but then quickly had a sly grin. "So you're saying if I can prove those memories are real, you'll help me?"

The beast remained silent, but did not deny the claim.

The blonde put a thumbs up towards the fox and smiled, "You got it, partner!"

The kyuubi watched as Naruto walked back towards the exit when he stopped and turned his head back.

"I missed you, Kurama."

Kurama stared wide-eyed as the neon orange jumpsuit faded into the darkness of the corridor. Nobody had called him by his name in over a thousand years.

The fox lay down and went back to sleep, and secretly hoped that the kid was telling the truth.

For chapter 15, I plan on making a databook of sorts, which gives information of different characters from this Naruto's original world, both before and after the Restoration. For this first databook, I've set up a poll in my bio for which set of characters you want to see detailed info of.
