Ch39

Chrysaor placed the shield and spier of Thalia Grace in her cabin before laying a reef in front of them. "Foolish girl," he muttered.

"Indeed. A pity that she was captured and tempted," Chiron said his eyes full of sorrow. "Hopefully Lord Zeus's anger calms. First her death and then that poor boy Nico disappeared a real shame.

"Me too," he said. They still didn't tell Chiron about Nico being a son of Hades. They contacted Bianca after it was clear that he left and while distraught she said she'll look for him when she can.

One child of the Big Three dies and another is found, crazy times. He looked up at Thalia Grace's weapons, personally he wanted to keep the shield because it had his mother's face on it but he figured it wouldn't look good if he kept it as a trophy given Zeus's mood now. "Is he calmer?"

"A little," Dionysus said as he stood in the doorway. "Thalia Grace was his child but he knows that she betrayed him. Anyway Chiron the new cabin is almost complete if you want to see it."

"I'll be right there," Chiron said. They headed towards the new cabin which was built for Hecate, it was of black stones with a bunch of powerful runes on it.

Lou Ellen the appointed head of the Hecate Cabin went up to them and smiled. "Hi the cabin is almost done."

"How is everything dear? Are you and your siblings well?" Chiron asked.

"Oh we are good we are getting some more siblings but many haven't came or want to," Lou said with a nervous laugh.

"Good we will welcome any and all of your siblings warmly," Chiron said.

"Thank you," Lou said with a smile. "I hope many more of my siblings can join us."

"Yes I'll also be here too," said a voice that made him frown. He turned around to see Circe wearing a camp shirt and jeans walk up to Ellen and her cabinmates. Upon seeing him Circe frowned and folded her arms. "Chrysaor."

"Circe," he said curtly. This is going to be very awkward. The two did their best to avoid each other since she started being Dionysus' assistant. "You look well."

"I'm fantastic," Circe said with a tense smile. "Now that I'm human again."

He laughed. "How does it feel to have karma bite you in the ass?"

"Alright you two enough," Dionysus said interrupting them both. "Circe continue to help your siblings. You'll stay there but Ellen Lou will be the Cabin head."

Circe rolled her eyes. "Fine. I don't care for this leadership stuff anyway."

"Don't give me any attitude young lady. You're lucky Lord Zeus was merciful," Dionysus said. "Otherwise you would've ended up in Tartarus, now don't test our patience and get to work."

Circe sighed. "Yes sir."

Circe and Lou Ellen went over and continued to work on the Hecate Cabin. "Do you trust her?" Chiron asked as they headed to the Big House.

Dionysus shook his head. "No."

"You'd be a fool to trust her," he said. "But she swore on the Styx to not harm anyone, she could be an asset if used correctly. Plus with this olive branch hopefully the minor gods don't et any wrong ideas."

Chiron nodded "How are the other minor gods?"

"Too quiet," Dionysus said shaking his head. "I imagine many are placing their bets on who to join. Personally I believe some will join the enemy, it's inevitable in my opinion."

"Well they will make their decision we can only hope they chose the right side," Chiron said. "Chrysaor will you and Triton continue training Percy?"

"We will I'll meet with him later," he said looking down at his watch.

"I'd be careful Zeus is not happy at the moment," Dionysus warned.

"Don't worry we'll take the necessary precautions," He said looking up at the sky. "Anyway I'll get going now."

Chiron nodded while Dionysus sipped some cola. When he went back to the Poseidon Cabin he fed Circe and was getting ready to leave when he heard neighing outside of the cabin followed y a knock at the door. Who could that be?

He opened the door and was greeted by the sight of a large pegasi. It had a large firm build and strong powerful legs. "Uh hello," he said politely.

"Greetings Lord uncle my name is Bucephalus lieutenant in Lord Pegasus's guard," The pegasi said. "Your brother has assigned me to be your pegasi to fly on if you request it."

Well this is a surprise. He hadn't heard from his brother in a while. "Uh thank you I'll get things ready for you before I head out."

"Take your time my lord," Bucephalus said with a bow.

After he finished getting ready he went and let Chiron know about Bucephalus and made sure there was space for him in the stables before mounting him. "Alright we are heading to Long Island," he said.

"Yes my lord," Bucephalus said as he ran and took flight. They flew through the skies of the camp and quickly headed towards long island. He told Bucephalus the coordinates and the pegasi quickly headed his instructions.

"Land over there," he said pointing to Triton and Percy who were on the beach. The pegasi nodded and landed next to them. "Hey guys Pegasus sent me Bucephalus here to help me out," he said as he patted Bucephalus's back.

"Wow cool," Percy said as he patted Bucephalus. "Nice to meet you."

"You too," Bucephalus said. "My lord do you wish for me to stay with you?"

"You can return to the stables for now," he said. The pegasi nodded and bowed before flying off into the sky. "So what do you have planned for today Triton?"

"We are going into the sea today," Triton said looking up at the sky.

"Has Zeus been giving you any trouble?" He asked.

"No but I can never be too careful," Triton said. "Anyway lets go we will be fighting against sea monsters today."

"Sounds cool," Percy said as they all got into the water and quickly swam out before diving down into the water.

"Is our dad having any problems with Zeus?" Percy asked as they swam down into the ocean.

"Hard to say but our father's mood is tense," Triton said with a grim expression. "Personally I doubt Zeus will seek vengeance but you never know."

"True we are in the middle of a war it wouldn't be wise for Zeus to start a conflict with Poseidon," he said as they swam deeper into the ocean.

"True. Anyway we will be fighting off various sea monsters that serve Kronos," Triton said. "Our father's realm is under increasing strain because of them."

They were greeted by a group of mermen, sharks, dolphins, and a variety of other sea creatures. "Lord Triton we have reports of sea serpents not far from here."

"Good we will move in to intercept them," Triton said summoning his trident in his hand. "Alright both of you get ready."

"Got it," Percy said as they both drew their swords. "Lets do this."

Triton smiled at Percy before turning to his soldiers, "Don't let the enemy escape. For Poseidon!"

"For Poseidon!" The soldiers said before they all moved out.

"Are you ready Percy?" He asked as they swam in formation.

"Yeah just nervous," Percy said. "It feels cool to fight underwater though."

"You'll get the hang of it don't worry," He said with a laugh. They swam for a bit before they heard the sound of a loud roar in the distance. "Sea monsters just like the old days."

"You fought a lot of them back in the day?" Percy asked as he carefully scanned the area.

He nodded, "Yeah they used to harass a lot of ships but Father and Triton kept them in line for ages."

"Enemy approaching!" A merman shouted.

He gripped his sword tightly as a loud roared reverberated throughout the water. In the distance he saw them, a group of about a dozen sea serpents each the size of a large bus coming towards them.

"Men formation advance!" Triton shouted.

"Percy stay by me," he said as they the sea serpents men the first round of soldiers.

"Alright," Percy said as they carefully followed behind Triton.

"Alright boys lets take that one," Triton said pointing to the largest sea serpent about twice the size of the others but with teeth just as sharp.

"Uh sure why not," Percy said as he nervously eyed the creature.

"Don't worry we got this," he said patting Percy on the back.

"Alright charge!" Triton said as he charged at the sea serpent.

He and Percy followed Triton just as their older brother blasted it with his Trident. The sea serpent hissed as it was knocked off balance. It turned its gaze to them glaring at them with its red eyes and its long sharp teeth.

"Damn that thing looks pissed off," Percy said as the monster charged at them..

"Come on lets aim for the neck or eyes if you can reach them," he said as they moved out of the large sea serpent as it charged at them.

Triton intercepted it and blasted it with his trident causing it to recoil. He and Percy then swam to support him. Triton slammed his trident into the creature's nose causing to recoil in pain. He and Percy charged at the fins, they sliced at it causing the creature to writhe in pain.

"Look out!" Triton yelled.

He turned around just as he saw the monster's tail whack them both. "Damn it," he swore in Ancient Greek as he quickly got his bearings. "Percy are you alright?"

"I'm fine," Percy said shaking his head. "That thing is strong."

"Don't worry we got this," he said. Percy smiled at him and nodded, they both headed back to Triton was doing battle with the head sea serpent.

"There you guys are," Triton said as he swatted the sea monster's tail away from him. "I'll do my best to restrain it meanwhile both go for the eyes."

"Got it come on Chris," Percy said as he gripped Riptide.

They joined Triton just as the sea monster charged at them. "Alright you son of a bitch take this," Triton said as his trident glowed a bright yellow.

Triton blasted the creature causing it to recoil before charging at it. Their older brother stabbed it in the neck causing the monster to roar in pain. "Let go!" He yelled to Percy.

They both carefully swam around the creature and up to its hide as Triton held it down with his trident. "Lets do this," he muttered as he swam towards its large eye from below.

The monster barely had to react as he sunk his blade into the eye right down to the hilt. Shit. The creature let out a loud roar and nearly threw him off as he pulled his sword out.

"Chris are you ok?" Percy asked.

"I managed to take its eye out what about you?" He asked

"The same," Percy said taking a few deep breaths.

"Good job both of you," Triton said as he eyed the blind monster. "That thing is a mad beast now lets end it."

"Sounds good," Percy said. "How do you think we should do it?"

"Well go for the throat all at once," Triton said as the monster broke through the lines of mermen.

"Got it," he said as he gripped his sword. Triton charged at the monster and blasted it off course with his trident before swimming towards it.

"Come on lets go," Percy said as he swam after him.

Triton stabbed the monster in the neck and was trying to pierce his way through the monster's skin as they came up and helped him. "Damn this thing," Triton swore as he struggled with his trident. "Percy you and Chrysaor stab help me sever the neck."

"Got it," Percy said as he charged at the monster. He went to support Percy, the monster was starting to bleed out as they both slashed at the bit of loose flesh they could reach.

The monster roared and turned its face down at them, "I'll keep it distracted work on getting to the heart," Triton said.

"No problem," he said as he looked at the wounds they inflicted on it. He could see the tissue of its inner organs, this creature didn't have much longer to live.

Triton charged at the creature and jammed his trident into the monster's bottom jaw.

"Come lets ends this thing," Percy said as he avoided the monster's tail.

"Lets kill this thing," he said as they both went for the monster's heart. They both stabbed at the creature's heart as it tried to break free. As they sunk their blades into its heart the monster let out one final groan before evaporating into a pile of gold dust.

"Good job you two," Triton said taking a deep breath. "Come on lets get the injured to somewhere safe."

Triton's basecamp wasn't that far, he and Percy helped some of the injured mermen and other creatures move there. "Well this wasn't bad," Triton sighed as they swam past various infirmary tents. "But these attacks are getting more and more common, I fear the worse is yet to come."

"Does our father want us to help him?" Percy asked.

"He doesn't want you to get too involved," Triton said his brow furrowing. "He said you should focus on things on the ground more."

Percy frowned, "Well I'm his son too. If he needs help I don't mind helping him."

Triton smiled at Percy and ruffled his hair, "I know little brother. We would greatly appreciate your help when you and Chrysaor can."

Percy's face reddened, "Y-Yeah no problem."

"Well how about we get something to eat I'm starving," Triton said.

"Sounds good," he said.

Malcolm Pace fell to the ground glaring at the Ares kids. "Why don't you go to your sister," one of them said.

His siblings helped him up as he glared at them. "We were here first. We get to use the archery range."

The sons of Ares laughed. "Stay out of our way," one of them said. "Unless you want us to send you to your sister."

"Malcolm lets just go," one of his siblings said softly. "Percy just left."

Indignation spread throughout his body. "Fine." He turned around and left his siblings as they headed back to their cabins.

It's not fair. Tears fell down his face. Walking into the forest he sat down on a rock and let the tears fall down his face. We didn't do those things. Why are we being judged?

He fell to his knees and pressed his head down to the Earth. "Mother wherever you are hear my prayer. Allow me to avenge your name. I will do anything to make the camp and the gods respect you. Allow me to take a quest to restore your honor."

A cold wind passed by him, he didn't feel anything different but a part of him deep down told him his mother was listening.
