Stepping out of the car, he found both of his pack mates guarding the main door. "You two know Olivia lives on the second floor."

Hector rolled his eyes. "Gina is guarding her door."

"Any updates?"

Micheal shared a look with Hector. "A man stopped by. I believe his name is Brian. He's still inside."

"From the look of things Alpha Benson has not been able to get him to leave." Hector added. "We weren't sure if you wanted us to intervene."

Barba shook his head. "No, I'll handle it."

"Also Stabler's wolves were poking their noses around." Micheal said. "We ran them off."

"Alright, you two head back." Barba ordered. "I'll take the overnight watch. I'll send Gina down."

"Yes alpha."

The moment Gina spotted him, she kneeled and bared her neck. "Everything has been calm. The only issue is Brian. Alpha Benson has indicated a few times her wish to be alone. The human is as dense as a post."

"The boys told me." He chuckled. "I'll take care of it. Go on home."

"Yes alpha." Taking a few steps, she paused. "Did the trial go well?"

"It did." Before knocking he stood in front of the door for a moment. Picking up on three sets of heartbeats. Noah's was steady, most likely from being asleep. The other two were almost equal in rhythm, Olivia's a few beats faster. She was annoyed.

'Brian, are you going to stay for dinner?' The tone was on edge.

'Sure.'

'Well, you'd have to take it to go.' Olivia muttered. 'I have dinner plans with someone else.'

His heart beat jumped. 'Who?'

There was a skip in hers. 'Rafael.'

'The ADA?' Now it was beating faster. 'You have got to be joking. Are you involved with him?!'

'That is none of your concern.'

'How is it not? Did you forget we are dating?'

Barba listened as she took a deep breath and calmed herself. He jiggled the doorknob, rolling his eyes at finding it unlocked.

'We broke up Brian. A week ago, or did you forget?'

'You said you needed space.'

Hearing the man take a few steps and his scent mix with hers, he growled. Benson's heartbeat was pounding against her chest. Ever since Lewis, she became somewhat nervous when a man advanced quickly toward her.

Having had enough, he stepped into the apartment. "Benson, you left the door unlocked again." Walking into the living room, he looked at Brian. "Evening."

"I was sure I locked it." Olivia slipped past Brian, greeting him with a kiss on the cheek.

Shrugging his jacket off trying not to react to her greeting, he glanced at Olivia and then back at Brian. "I wasn't aware dinner for two turned to three."

"Well-"

"It didn't." Cutting Brian off, she tossed him a look. "Brian was just leaving."

The man scoffed. "Whatever, but when he's done with you don't come crawling back to me."

Olivia was quick to stop Barba from nearing Brain. She caught onto his deep growl. "Get out."

Barba glared daggers at the retreating detective. "Prick."

"Ignore him, he's only attempting to get a rise out of you."

Taking a seat on the breakfast bar, he snatched a piece of bread. "I can always have the boys prohibit entrance next time."

Olivia nodded. "Sure. By the way how long am I going to have them guarding my door and building?"

Barba sighed. "I don't know, but it's going to be a while. We tried talking things out and I'm afraid it did more damage than help."

"Who is he?"

Barba debated telling her, but the further away she was from this the better. "Just a bitten wolf that believes he can take on the world. Nothing Aaron and I haven't dealt with before."

"Just be careful." Olivia whispered, handing him a plate of food.

"Always."

Biting her lower lip, she glanced over at him. "Sorry."

Barba stopped the spoon halfway to his mouth. "What for?"

"The kiss." She shrugged. "I shouldn't hav-"

"Liv, relax." Chuckling lowly he lowered the spoon. "I don't mind it."

"You don't?"

He shook his head. "No, it's flattering actually."

"Still, shouldn't have used you that way." Turning her back to him, she busied herself with the dishes.

Barba took a few bites of his food, trying not to react to the salt. The food was delicious, but because of his superior sense, he tasted every last bit of seasoning on the food. "Did you actually cook this time or was this ordered in?"

"Like you could do any better." She muttered.

"Tell you what." Gathering his empty plate, he walked around and stood next to her. "As payment for the brutal assault I just endure, let me take you out for dinner." Moving her out of the way, he took over the cleaning. "My place and I cook."

"The pack house?" Olivia asked.

Barba shook his head. "No, I have another home. The pack doesn't go there."

"Okay."

"It's a date then." Realizing what he had said, he cringed. "I mean it's-"

"It's a date." Olivia placed her hand on the back of his shoulder, sliding it across and laying her hand against his neck. She learned from Adhara that the neck was very sensitive and of importance to them. Should she be allowed to touch him or even grab him, it was something she should not take lightly. Feeling him tense slightly, she leaned up and kissed him on the cheek. "When's the date?"

Barba swallowed the lump in his throat. It was taking every fiber in his body not to remove her hand. The way she was holding him was the same way he used others to submit. "Should nothing get in the way, how about Saturday?"

"I'll write it down." Seeing his body relax upon removing her hand, she wondered if she may have pushed her boundaries. "Rafa?"

"Yeah?"

"Does it bother you when I touch your neck?" Writing the date on her little schedule book, she closed it and leaned against the counter. "Adhara told me the neck-"

"No." Barba didn't mean to cut her off, but he didn't need her thinking she had pushed him away. "It's true the neck area has meaning to us. It's how others show submission. Bare your neck and there might be a chance you leave unharmed. It's also the area we scent mark some pack mates. The neck is one of the three vulnerable spots we have." Drying his hands on a towel, he tossed it by the sink. "If you wish to lay your hand there or wrap your arms around my neck that is fine. But there are certain positions that cause me to tense."

"Like?"

"Like the one you did earlier." Walking over to her, he placed his hand the exact way she had done before. "This is a sign of possession. You're grabbing the neck from the side and pulling the person closer. It wouldn't have mattered on any other of my pack mates, but I'm not used to it. I get the feeling I'm being forced to submit."

"Oh." She felt stupid not realizing the difference between him and his pack. "Just for further reference what are the ways it won't trigger you?"

"There are only two ways I tolerate." Taking a seat on one of the stools, he grabbed her hand and pulled her to stand between his legs. "This is one." Taking her wrist, he lifted her hand and placed it against his cheek. Sliding it down to the side of his neck. "No pressure. No grip." He looked up at her with half-closed eyes. Barba felt her thumb caress his skin, causing him to close his eyes completely. To Olivia, this might just seem silly, but to him, it was another step in the right direction. The trust that she wouldn't hurt him during a vulnerable moment.

His skin was smooth and hot to the touch. Scanning his face, she took in his closed eyes and slightly opened mouth. "What's the other?"

Blinking slowly, he opened his eyes to catch her gaze upon him. "Leave your hand there." Reaching for her other hand, he brought it up over his shoulder. "Wrap them loosely around my neck."

Doing so, she interlocked her finger. "If you wanted a hug all you had to do was ask."

Barba chuckled. "I'll keep that in mind."

Moving a hand to the back of his neck, she played with his hair. Seeing him tense for a moment, something inside her took control. Leaning forward she nudged his jawline with her nose, before kissing his neck. It wasn't aggressive or assertive.

Rafael wrapped his arm around her waist, pulling her even closer to him. If that was even possible. The sensation of her lips on his skin was something he had dreamed of. But now that it was happening, he realized they didn't even come remotely close. "Liv, wa-" His growl rumbled within his chest when he felt her nibble on him. "You're pushing it." Yet his arms wouldn't let go of her.

Pulling away she looked down at him. "I'll stop then."

Reaching up and cupping her jaw, he pulled her close. "It's dangerous teasing the wolf." Closing in on her, he pulled back just enough to prevent a kiss. "But two can play at that game." Still holding her jaw, he tilted her head to the side. Planting a few kisses under her jaw, he continued down to her neck. Like she had done before, Barba nibbled at the delicate skin. He noticed quickly she bruised easily. As he continued with his sweet assault, he felt her shift on her feet. "Getting tired?"

"Hard to stay still when you're doing that." She breathed out.

"Let me fix that." Releasing her waist, he slid his hands down to her ass and picked her up. Once she was secured straddling his lap, he maintained one hand around her waist.

Olivia was surprised when he made her straddle him. This was something she hadn't done much of. Brian didn't like it and refused to ever give her control. Biting down on her lip to stop the sounds of pleasure wanting to erupt. Adjusting herself, she heard Barba hiss. "What's wrong?"

"Do-don't move like that." His voice trembled.

Not understanding what he meant, she adjusted herself once more. His hand gripped her waist, forcing her to sit still. "Rafa w-" She froze at feeling his erection directly underneath her. "Oh."

"Yeah." He gasped out. "Give it a moment."

Before she could use it to her advantage Barba's phone went off. Just as her phone went off as well. "I swear if it's Fin or Amaro, I'm having them moved to patrol."

Feeling her make a move to get off, he stopped her. "Stay put." Seeing the confused look on her face, he leaned up and kissed her cheek. "Having you over me feels amazing."

Rolling her eyes she reached for her phone. "Benson."

Barba pulled his out of his pocket. "What is it Enzo?"

'It's Garcia, she's going into labor.'

"She's not due for another few days."

'There was an incident with her and another she-wolf. It induced labor. Aaron is out on the field dealing with Stabler's wolves and we can't get ahold of him or his team.'

"Okay, calm down." Barba ran a hand through his hair. "Have the midwife care for her. I'm on my way." Hanging up the phone he quickly sent Hotch and the others a text.

Benson frowned at his change of demeanor. "Fin let me call you back. Just have Amaro text me the information." Hanging up she turned her attention to the alpha. "What is it?"

"We need to go." Helping her off his lap, he snatched his coat and keys. 'Gina?'

'Yes alpha?'

'I need you to come back and watch over the pup. Until Lucy picks him up.'

'Be there in two.'

"Rafa?" Olivia called once more. Confusion and worry taking over her features. "What is it?"

"Garcia is going into labor and Hotch is out in the field. They can't get ahold of him." Hearing the running footsteps of his pack mate, he opened the door. "Noah is asleep. Just stay guard until the babysitter arrives."

"Yes alpha." Walking into the apartment, Gina bowed at the other woman.

Snapping out of her freeze stage, she grabbed her phone and sent a message to Lucy. Luckily the young woman answered quickly with a yes. "I can call one of the squad to find him." She was already dialing the number. "What hospital?"

Opening the door for her, he gave her a look. "Just tell them to let Hotch know. She's not at any hospital."

"Right."
