Ch46

The next day Quintus had all the campers gather around for practice. "Alright tonight we will practice war games. The first one to find the scorpion and kill taking the golden laurels will win. I will now decide the teams for you."

Quintus then began to name people off into groups before he got to him. "Percy Jackson and Chris Caspian you will both work with Malcolm Pace."

"Well this should be interesting," Chris muttered as the blonde haired son of Athena came up to them.

"Um hey guys so lets defeat these monsters," Malcolm said extending a hand a nervous smile.

"Yeah glad to work with you," he said shaking Malcolm's hand.

Malcolm was the head of the Athena Cabin since his sister's defection. No one from the cabin really bothered him for his father forbidding them in his domain. In fact at times the children of Athena always tried to get on his good side, probably in an effort to mend the feud going on between their parents.

"Alright everyone let the games begin!" Quintus said clapping his hands.

The three of them stalked through the woods with their weapons drawn. "So I was thinking we could just focus on the scorpion with the laurels," Malcom suggested.

"Sounds good," Chris said as he carefully scanned the area.

They carefully patrolled the area near Zeus's Fist looking for any signs of scorpions. They walked carefully around the Fist when they suddenly heard a screeching sound. "Get ready!" Chris yelled as three scorpions came at them.

"Crap," He swore as they got into a defensive position. Chris managed to parry one of the stingers but there were three of them and they were angry.

"Lets retreat for now," Chris said as he fought off a claw. His brother jumped back and stabbed one in the eye. His brother hacked on of their claws off but it just made them angrier.

"Good idea," Malcom said blocking a claw with his sword. "Lets get inside the Fist."

Chris managed to draw the attention of the scorpions away enough for them to escape down a dirt hole in the ground.

It was pretty dark but he could the cold stone wall on his hands as they made their way down. "Hey what is this?" He muttered as he felt a strange symbol on a wall.

"Let me see," Malcom said as he had a look at it. "Oh gods it can't be."

"What is it?" Chris asked.

Malcom moved his hand. "It's the symbol of Daedalus a pathway into the labyrinth."

"The labyrinth," he said softly as Chris's posture stiffened.

"This is amazing," Malcom said as he they took a few steps into it.

"We shouldn't go too far," Chris warned. "Or else we would be lost."

"Oh right," Malcolm said scratching his head. "Sorry it's just so weird being down here."

"Does Chiron know about his place?" He asked.

"I don't think he does," Malcolm said scratching his head. "Trust me if he knew Annabeth would've-" Malcolm paused a dark passing over his face. "Never mind she chose her path," he muttered bitterly.

He and Chris exchanged a look. "Has our father punished you guys anymore lately?" He asked sympathetically.

"No but we just still can't believe she would do something so foolish," Malcolm said clenching his fists tightly. "Our mother had high hopes for her yet she threw it away to fight against her."

"I'm sorry to hear about that," he said softly. "If you want I could try to talk to our father about him keeping you and your siblings out of his domain." Chris remained silent but nodded in agreement.

Malcolm gave him a small smile. "Thanks. If I may ask though, you guys fought against her right? What was she like?"

He scratched his head. "Well she was pretty close to Luke the few times we fought. She fell down a cliff last winter with him last time I saw them. Our brother Triton claimed she helped Luke escape when he tried killing them."

Malcolm slammed his fist into the wall. "How stupid of her. I know she was close with him but still to think she would be this delusional." Malcolm looked at him with his grey eyes they were red with anger and sadness, "Because of her devotion to him our mother got into trouble with Zeus and us her other siblings face the consequences of her actions."

He and Chris remained silent as Malcolm took a deep breath. "She always talked highly of Luke saying how he was her family, good to know she would throw us the bus for him." Malcolm looked at him, "If you see her do me a favor and let her know how selfish she is."

"I'll um pass the message for you," he said. "If you need anything let us know. I hope our parents can get over this fight."

"Me too," Malcolm said as the rock above them was lifted.

"I found them!" Tyson yelled.

"There you guys are," Reyna said. "We have been looking for you guys forever, the contest is over."

Percy never had two dreams in a row this weird before. The first dream was of a man and his son in Ancient Greece was still fresh in his head. The second was more ominous.

It was stormy evening and a girl in an Ancient Greek outfit was running for her life. She was screaming begging anyone to help her begging to be spared.

"Please no," she begged as she ran from the water. "Please I don't want to." Her body shook as she ran and tried to outrun the water.

She eventually tripped on the ground and turned to face the waves, her eyes wide with terror. "Please no," she begged tears falling down her face as a large wave hit her. She screamed as a familiar figure stood over her, it was his father Poseidon.

The woman begged as his father grabbed her and forcibly tore off her clothes and threw her to the ground his eyes were full of lust as the woman's screams became louder and louder. "Come on why do you have to resist," his father growled.

He could feel fear as if it were his own. The feeling of being cornered and helpless knowing that someone stronger do what they want with you.

Percy woke up his body covered in sweat. What was that? His heart pounded in his chest. Did dad know her?

He knew his dad took mortal lovers but that memory it was just wrong. That woman didn't want his father and she was scared for her life. Who was she. He winced at the memory of his father tearing off her clothes and forcing her down on the beach.

Sitting up he noticed his brother Chris sitting up on his bed. "Hey you're up early," he said.

"Yeah had a weird dream," his brother muttered.

"Me too. I think mine had something to do with the labyrinth," he said scratching his head. "Then something about dad and this girl that didn't look too consensual."

Chris raised an eyebrow. "Was she from Ancient Greece?"

"I think so. Do you know her?" He asked.

Chrysaor stared at him and sighed. "Percy you know how gods take mortals right?"

"Yeah," he said. "That's how we are here."

"Well not all had the luxury your mother. Our father didn't force himself on her like he did others," Chris said softly. His brother turned away and rubbed his head. "Back in the day consent wasn't really a thing for the gods. They took what they wanted by force if necessary."

His brother's words hit him like a gut. Yeah he knew that Gods didn't believe in consent in the modern definition but the way his brother said it along with the dream sent shivers down his spine.

"Percy there was one woman who our father wanted very much," Chris said carefully. "She didn't want him but he wasn't one to take no for an answer."

He stared at his brother, Chrysaor's body was rigid his brow furrowed. "Percy with this woman it was so bad our father felt remorse. She fought and begged to the end it was that bad." His brother shook his head in disgust.

"What happened to her?" He asked softly.

"She turned into a man so as to never feel that sort of pain and humiliation again," Chris said softly. "It was so bad our father felt remorse."

He paused. How could he do such a thing? He knew that his father most likely changed but still that memory made his blood run cold. Shaking his head he turned to Chris. "Did you dream anything interesting?"

"Sort of," Chris said. "Remember how I was immortal?"

He nodded. It was something he kept secret from the other campers, only Chiron and Mr. D knew his brother Chris was actually the son of Medusa and his father.

"Well I used to have a wife and a son," Chris said. "My son is a monster named Geryon who only cared about himself, not that I was the best influence. Anyway we aren't on the best of terms and I believe he is working with Kronos."

"I'm sorry to hear that," he said softly. "Do you think he can change?"

"I doubt it," Chris said frankly. "He inherited my worst traits and my greed. He is somewhere down there in the labyrinth selling things to Kronos I know it."

"I see," He said not knowing how to respond to it.

"But anyway not every son of Poseidon was good. My son has done many evil things and has constantly gotten killed for them," Chris said frankly. "If he is working for the enemy then he will face the consequences of his actions."

He was taken aback by his brother's words. He must have done some awful things for him to feel that way. He knew his brother had a complicated life and this just sounded even more complicated.

"Anyway if by chance you run into him," Chris said. "He won't hesitate to kill you so you should be prepared to take him down. Just remember not all of Poseidon's children are good, not all want to be good."

"Good to know," he said resting in his bed. "Looks like Luke will soon lead an army here through the labyrinth."

"We'll have to prepare well," Chris said. "The sooner we stop them the better, whatever they are planning they intend to wipe us out. They are using the labyrinth as a base from there they can reach anywhere."

He sighed. "Things are getting complicated. Whatever Annabeth and Luke are planning we have to stop them before it is too late. I hope Bianca can reason with her brother too."

"Yeah having a child of the Big Three is a great boost to the enemy," Chris said. "It will also make the gods less trusting of us."

"True," he sighed. "I really hope Bianca can find and talk some sense into him."

That morning after breakfast they had archery with the Hecate Cabin. There were a few of them, probably about a dozen of them including Circe.

"Hey Percy can you show me how to use the bow?" Lou Ellen asked.

"Sure but I'm not the best at it," he said as he got into position and drew his arrow. "Hold it like this and fire it." He released his arrow but as usual it hit the side of the target.

Lou Ellen and some of her siblings clapped while Circe stifled a laugh. "Thanks Percy."

"Uh no problem," he said scratching his head. "How is your first summer here so far?"

"Oh it's alright," Lou said as she practiced with her bow. The daughter of Hecate frowned as she pulled the arrow back before releasing it hitting the target not far off from where he hit it.

"Not bad. Better than mine," he said.

"Thanks," Lou said. "I'm looking forward to this summer though I hope the other campers can warm up to us."

"Oh I'm sure they will," he said. "If you need anything you all can ask us."

Lou smiled at him. "Thanks. I appreciate it. Sadly a lot of the camp doesn't see us as equals since our mom fought for Kronos."

"Yeah we all did things we aren't proud of," Circe said standing behind her sister. "But we have to make the best of it."

He noticed the Hecate Cabin tense up their faces darkening. "Well if anyone gives you trouble they will deal with me and the Poseidon Cabin," he said extending a hand.

Lou smiled at him and shook. "Thank you Percy Jackson."
