"Rafael!" A loud knock on the door broke their stares on each other.
"What?!" He answered with a loud snarl.
There was a pause before the intruder answered back with hesitancy. "T-they need alpha Benson at work. Something about an officer down."
Olivia's eyes widen, pushing him away and running out of the shower. "On my way."
Barba grabbed one of the towels and handed it over to her. "Henry, have the car prepped for Olivia."
"Yes alpha."
Walking over to her, he grabbed her gently by the back of the neck. Looking down at his mark, he ran his thumb across it. Grinning at the quiver he extracted from her. "Don't cover it."
"Okay." Turning to face the mirror, she nearly gasped upon seeing the mark just where her neck and shoulder met. The four dots where his canines had pierced her skin, were connected and surrounded by a few gray lines. Almost as if someone had tattooed her veins on the outside. The design that had been formed was beautiful to her. One of a kind. "Are they all the like this?"
"No." Encircling his arms around her waist, he rested his chin on her shoulder. "Every mark is unique to the alpha. Not one is the same. This one is just yours." Kissing the bite, he earned himself a moan. "Now you're mine."
When she first saw Kathy on the gurney, Olivia was shocked. Unsettled. And fearful for the woman. All she had been told was an officer was down, involving a car bomb. She never thought they would be referring to her ex-partner's wife.
But the moment she heard her name in his voice, she was lost. And not in a good way. She didn't get that warm feeling she got when Rafael called her name. Or the goosebumps on her arm from just hearing his voice. Instead, all that resentment and ache he left her with came surging to the surface. It nearly made her react in a way that was surely scowled upon. When she came face to face with him, she stepped back at his attempt to hug her. He had seemed so perplexed by her rejection that he had attempted to reach for her once more. Before she could say anything, it was Fin that interceded, positioning himself between the two.
Now she was just confused. Kathy was in the hospital in critical condition, doctors were sure she wouldn't make it past the night. Last she saw the Stabler's children, they were in the waiting room. But Elliot was nowhere to be found. She required his statement and although she refused to admit it, was worried about him. He was still her friend. Or at least she thought he was. So when he sent her his home address, she thought nothing of it.
Pulling up to the end of the driveway, she found Stabler waiting for her on the steps to his home. "Shouldn't you be at the hospital with your wife and kids?" She asked stepping out of the car.
Elliot shrugged almost as of he didn't care. "They will call me if anything happens."
That struck her as odd. The Elliot she knew was never this cold with his wife. Nor would he be away from Kathy in her time of need. "I need your statement. The officers on the scene said you refused to give it to them."
"My wife had just been in a car bomb. I wasn't exactly in the clearest of minds to give a statement." Gleaming at her, he walked down the steps towards her. The closer he got, the more agitated he became. Her scent was all wrong. It was still her, but something was hindering him from being able to get a clear smell. His eyes trailed towards her neck, stopping short. "You're marked."
Olivia's hand instinctively reached for the bite. "Excuse me?"
"Who marked you?" Elliot growled.
"How do you know what this is?" Olivia asked although she knew. But she wanted to hear him say it. "Elliot, how do you know?"
"You know why." Flashing his eyes at the woman meant for him, he took a step closer.
Taking a step back, she swore at realizing she left the keys inside the car. "How?" That stopped his advancements. "How did you become this?"
"Don't try and divert the question, Olivia." He took another step. "Who marked you?" His body was tensed and his hands were clenched to his side. A growl rumbled from deep in his chest. His eyes were bright red. She could tell he was trying to remain calm, but he was struggling.
"Let's talk inside." Olivia didn't want him shifting in such a state of mind. Barba had explained to her the danger of a wolf shifting angrily. A mad wolf was bad. A mad werewolf was even worse. Blood and rampage are what followed a loose shifter. "We can explain everything between us."
"Explain?" Elliot scoffed. "Explain what? That you have decided to throw your life away? And for what, for the first mutt that charmed you with false fantasy?" He stepped closer, standing inches from her face. "With your happy ending?! You were supposed to wait for me Liv."
"Wa-" Olivia shoved him back. "You left without a word. Left me to pick up the broken pieces that was our partnership. You left for ten years, and I was supposed to wait for you?! My life did not revolve around you Stabler."
"I came back for you!" Stabler lashed out at.
"Enough!" Olivia snapped. "If you want to yell instead of talking that's fine. Yell all you want, but I am telling you now, I will not tell you whose mark I am carrying." As she made a move to leave, he was quick to obstruct her path. "Elliot move."
"Tell me, tell me what I can do? What I should do? What I should have done." He grabbed her hands, holding them tightly in his. "Tell me what I need to do."
Olivia felt her heart shattered at seeing such a look of defeat in his eyes. Pulling her hand away from his. She cupped his chiseled jaw. "There is nothing you can do. There was a time I was in love with you. When you left, I learned some loves are never meant to be more than platonic." She wiped away the single tear falling from his eye. "I also realized I was never in love with you."
"Who is it?" Elliot asked once more, growling as she once more denied him the answer. "I will find out Olivia one way or another. So best you tell me now who marked you?!"
"I did."
