Station:
Stepping into the bullpen, she found her team gathered around Fin's desk. "What are you doing?"
"Nothing." Fin slammed his laptop shut, leaning back in the chair with an innocent smile.
Olivia rolled her eyes. "That better not be some porn site Fin."
"Come on Liv, you know me."
"That's exactly why." Tossing him a look, she stepped into her office. As she took a seat, both Fin and Amaro walked in. "What's going on?"
"That's what we came to ask." Amaro settled into one of the chairs. "Anything you'd like to share?"
Olivia knitted her brows in both confusion and curiosity. "Nothing comes to mind. No."
Fin walked around to her side, leaning against the desk. "Nothing at all?"
"What is up with you two?" She figured out what they were going on about when Fin reached for her shoulder. She jerked away from his touch in a possessive move. The notion of someone else touching her mark made her skin crawl. That someone being a man, had her blood boiling. "Don't touch it."
Fin raised a brow, pulling his hand away. "Just wanted to get a better look at it."
"Particular reason as to why you got a tattoo?" Amaro wanted to divert the look Olivia had on Fin. It was making even him nervous. "What is it anyway?"
"It has a meaning that only means something to me." Olivia replied. "Enough about this, did you two finish the files from last week." Seeing both their grins drop, she scoffed. "Go. Now." Left alone in her office, she pulled out a small mirror. Seeing the reflection of the mark, caused a sting of shudders to flow up her spine.
"It will get some getting use to."
Startled by the voice, she jumped from her chair. Hand reaching for the gun at her hip. "What are you doing here?" She wanted to believe he wouldn't do anything stupid here, but then again he's surprised her at every turn. "Leave."
Raising his hand in a gesture of 'I mean no harm'. "I just came here to talk."
"Now you want to talk?" Olivia growled.
"Yes and to apologize." He muttered. "I should have not done what I did. I should have not treated you like some object that can be won."
Keeping her hand on her gun, Olivia took him in. He looked tired. Defeated in a way. And as much as she wanted to believe in his words, the voice in the back of her head kept screaming 'No!'. "I wish I could trust you, Elliot."
"Why can't you?"
Olivia scoffed out a chuckle. "You had your mutts try and take me not once, but twice. You sent one of them to attack Rafael. Let's not forget they broke into my apartment as well."
"Mutts?" Elliot had heard that word so many times, but coming from her was a different kind of blow. "That your word or Rafael's?" Seeing her look change from weary to angry, he knew he was treading on dangerous ground. "Sorry." Motioning to the chair in front of him, he waited for the green light.
Olivia was aware of the danger of having him here. Rafael although not in the building, could stop by at any moment. The pack mates that he had watching over her, could have seen Elliot walk in. Which meant Rafael was already on his way. But she also wanted to hear what he had to say. Why he did what he did. How he became this. So, against her better judgment, she nodded the go-ahead.
"I am here to try and save what little friendship we have." He stated. "I know I fucked up. I fucked up when I left and never contacted you, but I needed to get away. I need a new start. And as traumatic as it was, I got a new start."
With apprehension steps, she pulled her chair back and took a seat. "Start from the beginning. I know you left for Rome, Fin told me. But how did this..." She gestured to all of him. "Happen. You weren't born as them, so you were turned."
"We had a raid gone bad." Elliot muttered. "The suspect ran out of the building into the woods, where he had the upper hand. I didn't see him or the gun." Raising his shirt, he showed her the bullet scar on his chest. "My teammates couldn't find me and I was dying." Pulling his shirt down Elliot dropped his gaze down to his hands. "A man found me. He told me what he was and offered me a second chance. So I took it."
"And your family?" Olivia asked. "What of them?"
"I couldn't tell them." He sighed. "At least not then. I took off for about a year with another pack. I kept in touch with them of course. I just needed time to understand what I had become. The pack showed me and taught me." There was no need to tell her what occurred during that time. The blood and gore were meant only to remain in his memories. "I came back and I told them everything." Dragging his eyes over to her, he winced at the cold look she gave him.
"Their lessons included kidnapping? Stalking?" Olivia grumbled.
Elliot pushed back the growl. He was an alpha and that deemed respect. "That was me not knowing how to reach out properly. They were going to kidnap you, they were sent to bring you to me. Had that alpha not interrupted, we'd be having a completely different talk."
"That alpha has a name." Olivia snapped, not tolerating the disrespect with which he spoke of Aaron. "Aaron protected me."
"It was not his place to do so."
"His place?" She laughed. "You do not want to go down that road. You seem to forget yours quite frequently."
"I was only trying to protect you."
"From who?!" She was beginning to regret her decision in letting him stay. "Rafael? Aaron? Or You?"
"I would never hurt you Liv."
She wanted to believe him. That somewhere behind this Elliot was the one she knew many years ago. The same one that would take a bullet for her. But all she saw was a stranger with his face. "I want to believe that, but I can't. not now."
"What can I do-" A cold shiver ran down his spine at the scent he inhaled. 'Shit'.
Olivia frowned at his abrupt stop. Glancing over at him, she found him rigid. His shoulders were stiff and his breathing had picked up a notch. His eyes although not giving too much away, could see the fear in them. "What's the matter?" Looking past him and out to the bullpen, she spotted Barba glaring at the back of Stabler's head. To anyone looking it just seemed he was waiting for her to be finished. But her eyes saw the tight grip Aaron's hand had on the alpha's arm. The veins popped from the strength he using. "Don't move." Olivia jumped from her chair.
"I'm not stupid Liv."
Walking out to the bullpen, she gave Aaron a hello. "Rafa?"
The man kept his gaze on the intruder in his territory. "You okay?"
"Yeah." Taking his hand in hers, she felt the tight grip. "Aaron, can you do me a favor?"
"I'm on it." Without another word, he walked into Olivia's office. A few words were exchanged between him and Elliot before the latter got up to leave.
Olivia kept her eyes on Rafael, as Elliot passed by. Barba on the other hand would not take his eyes off him. The moment Elliot tried to get close to her, she was pulled away and placed behind Rafael. Aaron was quick to step between the two.
"Look at me." She whispered to Barba. Getting his attention she placed a hand on his jaw. His bread was soft to the touch. "He just came to talk."
Letting out a shaky breath, he nodded. "He did not harm you?"
"No."
Aaron walked back in leaning close to Olivia and whispered. "Take him into your office. Shut the blinds and let him do what he must."
"Do what?" Olivia wasn't sure if it was fear or anticipation she felt.
"He will explain after. Just do it." Aaron gestured to her office with a stern look. "Now Captain."
Still confused, she lead Barba into her office. Letting him go, she closed the door and moved to the windows. The moment she shut the last blind, Olivia was pulled around and landed on Barba's lap. Before she could ask, his arms wrapped around her waist and his mouth was on her neck. "Rafa?"
"You smell of him." He moved his mouth over her mark. Nearly purring at the gasp he pulled from her. "I can't stand his stench on you." Without breaking contact with her neck, Barba maneuvered her so she straddled his lap. His mouth latched onto the bite, while also nuzzling against her. Olivia's hands ran through his hair, drawing a low groan from him. "Never let this happen again." He pulled back, his hand sliding into her hair, grabbing a handful and pulling her back. A low growl at catching her arousal spike up. "Say it."
Olivia wasn't sure what made her obey. "Never."
"Never what?" He leaned forward nibbling at the front of her throat. "Never. What?"
Her hands gripped his shoulders, nails digging past his suit and into his skin. "Never going to wear another man's scent."
Hearing the words spoken, he wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her down against his chest. Nuzzling into her neck gently this time. Taking in a deep breath he growled with pride at smelling only his scent entwining with hers. Inhaling their scent slowly calmed him down.
Feeling his breathing even out, she was able to relax. No longer was his grip near steel-like. His breath ghosted over her collarbone. Running her hand through his hair, she laid her cheek over his head. "Want to tell me what this was?"
He huffed. "In a minute." Taking his time to settle the anger in him, he pulled away. Looking up at her, Barba grabbed her chin. "Forgive me if this was uncomfortable for you. It's a part of me I cannot control."
She shook her head. "I wasn't. I am more confused than anything."
Running his hand down to her mark, he smiled fondly. "It's called scent marking. My scent entwines with yours." Dropping his hand to his side, he leaned back against the couch. Olivia stayed straddled on his lap. "Regardless of the mark on your shoulder and the fact that Stabler lost his challenge, I still see him as a threat. And I will continue to do so until the mating bond is complete." Seeing her brows knit together in heavy thinking, he took her hand in his. "It's not just him Olivia. Any unmated male is considered a threat. Anyone's scent that isn't mine on you will trigger this behavior."
"So you're saying I can't be around-"
"No." He quickly stopped her train of thought. "In no way am I telling you who you can and can't see. I am not attempting to try and control your life. All I am trying to do is prepare you for my actions." Leaning her down, he kissed her softly. "I would never harm you. It's just what I am."
Wrapping her arms around his neck, she rested her forehead against his. "I know." It was a big difference from how she felt when Elliot said those words to her. With Barba, she knew they were true. With him, she had nothing to fear. He'd keep her safe, just the same as she would him. "How did you know he was here?"
"Angelous called." Barba replied. "He saw Stabler walk into the station."
"Stabler is going to be working another division." She laid her head on his shoulder, her hand playing with the knot of his tie. "Which means working cases together." Feeling the rumble in his chest, she grabbed his chin and forced him to look at her. "Nothing will happen Rafa. Besides, the team will be with me and I know the pack will too."
He exhaled with a nod. "Doesn't stop the feeling I get Liv. But I will try my best not to rip his throat out."
With a roll of her eyes, she patted him on the chest. "That will be greatly appreciated." Making a move to get off him, she gasped at being pulled back and pushed down on the couch. "Don't even think about it." She turned her head away from his kiss. "Everyone is outside."
"I don't give a crap." He refrained from laughing at the look on her face. "You going to deny me a kiss?"
"Yes!" She laughed. "With you, a kiss is never the end."
Humming lowly, he ran his nose along the line of her jaw. Leaving open mouth kisses down to her neck. "I didn't hear any complaints before." Kissing her mark, he pulled away. "All I heard was my name being moaned out." Shifting his waist so he now kneeled between her legs, Barba placed his fisted fist, on either side of her head. Due to the way he was sitting, Olivia had no other option but to wrap her legs around his waist. "I'm going to ask again. Are you going to deny me a kiss?" Getting no response, but a challenging look, Barba dipped his head deliberately missing her lips and biting down on her neck. Her hand flew to his sides, gripping his shirt. "Just one Liv."
"N-no." She somehow managed to speak. Her eyes flew open at feeling his waist rotate. "That's not playing fair."
"Life doesn't play fair, why should I?" Resting his forehead against hers, he moved his hips forward drawing a low hiss from the woman trapped underneath him. Keeping his movements in a steady rhythm, Barba aggressively grabbed her chin. Her half-closed eyes trying to focus on him. "Just." He leaned in closer. "One."
Unable to hold back anymore, she grabbed the back of his neck and pulled him down for a searing kiss. All movements paused for a moment. Rafael tilted her head to the side, pushing hard against her actions. His hand trailed down her neck, over her breast, and to the hem of her shirt. Before he could touch what only he was allowed to, a knock interrupted them. "What is it?!"
"Dodds is here." Fin replied from the other side.
Barba sighed dropping his head against her chest. "We are currently in a meeting. He can wait!"
Olivia's eyes widen. "We can't have him wait, just because you can't stop at a kiss."
Kissing her lightly, he grabbed her hand on his chest. Keeping it on him, he leads her towards his belt buckle. Moving his mouth towards her neck, he smirked against her skin at feeling her fingers fumble against his belt. Without saying a word he nibbled at her throat. His hand worked on the buttons of her shirt. As he reached the last one, another knock had him growling louder. "I hate your team."
With a light chuckle, he pecked him on the cheek. "We are going to have to pause this for a moment."
"Fine." Jumping off her, he held out his hand, helping her off the couch. Using enough force, causing her to slam against his chest. "We will continue this after you're through with Dodds." Letting her go he adjusted his clothes. Making sure his hair nor his clothes gave away anything of their activities. Opening the door he found an impatient Dodds on the other end. "Dodds."
"Barba, you two done with your meeting or should I come back later?"
So the man was in a bad mood. "Well, actually that wou-"
"We are done." Olivia cut him off with a look. "Please come in. What can I do for you?"
With a deep chuckle, he walked out. He could only get away with so much teasing. Olivia would have his hide if he continued.
