Ch38
Chrysaor dreamt of an exploding volcano, he could hear Percy scream as a bright light blurred his vision. "Percy!" He yelled as he sat up in his bed sweat clinging to his face.
Oh gods that dream was too real. He quickly got up and looked out the window, it was barely morning. Percy please be ok. His heart raced as he quickly got ready.
"What is it?" Reyna asked.
His heart pounded in his chest. "I think Percy might be in trouble."
He explained the dream as she looked at him with a calm gaze. "We should talk to Chiron when we get the chance."
That morning it was quiet during breakfast, Quintus had randomly disappeared the night before and everyone was one edge. Father protect Percy. He said a small prayer as he burned some food in the fire.
All the campers were busy when suddenly a figure leapt from the shadows and crashed into a table. Everyone got up and to their surprises they saw Malcolm Pace and Bianca di Angelo both covered in ash and bruises.
"Alright everyone move aside," Chiron said as he broke through the crowd.
"What happened?" He asked as Bianca helped Malcolm up, he was clutching Annabeth's baseball hat in his hands.
The son of Athena had a shocked expression on his face. "P-Percy he blew up Mt. St. Helens to destroy a bunch of monsters." Malcolm shook his head as the crowd muttered. "We barely managed to get away."
"And Percy?" Chiron asked softly. His heart shuddered at the thought of Percy in peril, of course he knew his brother was stronger than that but as the older sibling he naturally wanted to help him.
Malcolm shook his head, "I don't know he stayed behind."
He could feel his blood run cold but luckily Bianca spoke up. "I don't think he is dead," she said looking at him. "We would know if he was dead."
Chiron frowned but shook his head. "Will Solace help them to the infirmary now."
"Right away," Will said as he and some of his siblings helped them to the infirmary.
Damn it. He went back to the Poseidon table and put his head in his hands. Father would kill me if something happened to him, I know he isn't dead. Still though wherever you are I hope you are safe brother.
"Don't worry I know Percy is alive," Bianca said looking him in the eyes. "Trust I know he is.
He nodded as Chiron approached him. "Chris come with me please," the centaur said.
"I'll be right back," he told Tyson as he got up and followed Chiron to his office in the Big House.
He sat across from the centaur his palms sweating. "So is this about Percy?"
Chiron nodded, "It is. Have you received any news from your father?"
He shook his head. "No. Trust me if Percy died there I would know."
The centaur gave him a knowing look, "I'm not a fool. I know that the di Angelo siblings are children of Hades."
"Can't hide anything from you can we?" He said. "Yes they are. Percy swore not to tell anyone since it would put them in danger."
"I understand that but right now we need to trust each other," Chiron said.
He nodded. "Of course. I think Percy is alive, she did feel him die so we shouldn't give up hope yet."
"We won't," he said. "I know Percy is alive. Oh by the way I've made plans to root out our traitor."
Chiron raised and eyebrow. "Did you?"
He nodded, "I have everything ready. I just need a meeting with all of the head campers as soon as possible."
"Will do," Chiron said. "But we have to be careful, the last thing we need now is suspicion amongst ourselves. Especially since Quintus left us."
"Don't worry I can show the others a few things if you want," he said as he got up. "Anyway I'll see you in a bit."
He headed back to his cabin avoiding the looks of the other campers. As soon as he got to the cabin he sat down on his bed and rubbed his temples Percy be safe wherever you are. His brother was strong, he was a son of Poseidon after all but still he was worried for his safety.
Whatever the case I'll help take protect the camp here until you return Percy. He got up and went over to his bookshelf and fed Circe as he looked at Backbiter, Luke is a snake the sooner we take care of him and Annabeth the better.
He opened the draw and took out the box that Ellen Lou and Circe had made for him. It was long and had various carvings on it. Now its time to rat out the snake.
Gripping the wooden box tightly he exited the tent and headed to the infirmary. When he walked in he saw Bianca and Malcolm in their beds with bandages on their bodies. "How are you guys doing?" He asked pulling up a chair to sit between their beds.
"I'm alright," Bianca said. "I haven't felt anything about Percy."
"I know he isn't dead," he said looking at both of them. "Percy is strong, we have to have faith in him."
"This is my first quest I can't believe it is already ending," Malcolm said softly shaking his head.
"Don't worry your quest if far from over," he said reassuringly. "Percy will be back and then you both can continue your quest."
Malcolm nodded, "Thank you. That means a lot Chris, I know there is a lot riding on this quest. I won't let everyone down."
"I know you won't," he said gripping the wooden box tightly. "Anyway just to let you both know soon we will have an important meeting to rat out a spy."
"A spy?" Bianca asked.
He nodded. "A spy. I have an idea of who they may be, and they may have been grooming your brother to join Kronos."
Bianca gripped her blanked tightly, her brow furrowing. "Are you sure?" She asked her voice cold causing Malcolm to flinch in his bed.
He nodded, "This person may have helped him go over to Kronos's side. Personally I don't know the details but I'm sure they are responsible."
"You mean Nico?" Malcolm asked.
Bianca nodded, "Yeah he is my brother. We are both-," she paused then took a deep breath. "We are both children of Hades."
The mood in the room darkened, "Hades?" Malcolm said softly.
"Chiron knows too," he pointed out. "Can't hide anything from him."
"I figure he would find out eventually," Bianca sighed. "But yeah we are children of the Big Three."
"Well I figure us traveling through the shadows was something," Malcolm said resting in his bed. "I worked with two children of the Big Three. Who would've guessed that my first quest be so eventful."
"Anyway if you both could make it later it would be good," he said as he got up.
"I'll be there," Bianca said firmly.
"Me too," Malcolm said his gray eyes firm with determination. "After Annabeth I can't stand the idea of us having another spy."
He nodded. "Great see you guys at the meeting later."
Later that evening as everyone was heading off to bed all the heads of cabins were gathered in the Big House. "Chiron what the deal?" Clarisse asked. "Why this sudden meeting?"
"We have an issue which we must discuss," Chiron said. "Chris do you wish to lead the meeting?"
"Sounds good," he said as he got up with the wooden box in hand. All the campers looks at him as he set the box down at the head of the table. "We have a spy among us."
He said the words frankly but the reaction was swift. "What do you mean?" Connor asked.
"Well I always figured someone was sending information to the enemy," Clarisse said folding her arms she looked over at Malcolm. "Is Wise Girl still talking to you guys?" She taunted.
Malcolm got up glaring at the daughter of Ares, "We are not our sister," he spat.
Clarisse laughed, "She was so full of herself but she really was an enemy agent in the end."
"Enough!" he said as Malcolm glared at Clarisse. "I already have a way to determine who the spy is." He opened the box and took out a scroll, "Me and the Hecate Cabin have found a way to figure out who they are. I'll pass this scroll around, I want everyone to read the letters."
He passed the scroll around starting with Connor Stoll who read it and frowned before passing it around. Each camper looked at the scroll and frowned before passing it on to the next person. He kept his eye on Silenaa who was seated next to Beckendorf, the daughter of Aphrodite was eyeing the scroll carefully while gripping the side of the table.
Eventually the scroll went to Beckendorf who looked at it and frowned before passing it to Silena. The daughter of Aphrodite took the scroll, hands shaking as she opened it. Silena read the scroll, her body shaking before she jumped up and threw the scroll on the table.
"Is something wrong Silena?" Chiron asked as the daughter of Aphrodite stared at the scroll her eyes wide with terror.
"Silena what's wrong?" Beckendorf asked with concern. "It was just a poem."
Silena stared at the scroll her eyes widening as she pointed at the scroll. She opened her mouth but quickly covered her mouth tears forming in her eyes her body shaking as if she were going to explode
"Is something wrong?" he asked. "It was just a poem did you read something else? You see this scroll says that whoever reads it and betrayed the camp must confess their crimes." His smile turned vicious. "Whoever holds it in will forfeit their life."
"What are you talking about Silena did nothing wrong!" Clarisse yelled.
Silena's body shook as she covered her mouth, her body shook and convulsed as if she were having a seizure. "Silena what's wrong?" Beckendorf asked as he got up and tried to touch her.
However, as soon as Beckendorf's hand touched her shoulder Silena recoiled and let out a cry. "It was me!" She screamed tears falling down her eyes. "I spy for Kronos!"
The room remained silent as Silena began to spew a bunch of the things she did for Kronos. The daughter of Aphrodite fell to her knees in tears as she carefully took out a silver pendant with a scythe on it to show everyone.
"I tell him information and I helped convince Nico di Angelo to join the hunters it was all me," she sobbed the words coming out of her mouth so fast he thought she would choke on her words.
Bianca stood up her eyes narrowing on the daughter of Aphrodite. "It was you! You turned him to Kronos!" The room turned cold as Bianca glared at the daughter of Aphrodite a deathly aura enveloped her.
Silena opened her mouth but in one second Bianca was up in her face and slapped her to the ground. "You heartless bitch! Do you know what you did? Our father is Hades!" The room fell silent as Silena cried on the ground her body shaking at Bianca's glare as the room turned ice cold
"I was forced to," Silena sobbed. The daughter of Aphrodite cowered under the glare of Bianca.
Bianca's hand struck again her eyes cold as ice. "Do you know how much damage you caused? My brother a child of the big three is on the enemy's side because of you!"
The room remained silent everyone as the temperature suddenly dropped. Bianca was radiating plenty of deathly vibes. The daughter of Hades looked like she wanted to send Silena on a one way ticket to the underworld. "He forced me to," Silena sobbed tears falling down her face. "He said he would protect Charlie and those that I love if not he hurt those that I loved."
"oh shove it," Bianca growled. "Do you know that he hates the gods now because of your actions?"
The his credit the son of Hephaestus went over to comfort the daughter of Aphrodite. "Silena it's ok," Beckendorf said softly the shock on his face was evident but he had no malice as he helped her up. The son of Hephaestus' body shook as he turned to Bianca. "I know she did a lot wrong please don't take it out on her."
Bianca folded her arms. "She is a spy and traitor. Who knows how many more people would've died because of her."
Beckendorf didn't say anything else. "Kronos is going to invade soon," Silena muttered her eyes watery. "Luke wants information, I can't disobey him."
"It's ok we'll figure something out," Beckendorf said holding her closely.
"We'll discuss this some other time," Chiron said firmly. "Right now lets us all go to bed." The centaur went over and picked up the necklace. "I'll keep this safe, don't worry dear we won't let anyone harm you."
Silena sobbed. "He'll kill me he'll kill me and everyone I love."
"It's ok," Beckendorf said holding her closely.
"She'll stay in the Big House you and Clarisse can watch over her," Chiron said.
Beckendorf nodded, "Thank you. Come on Silena lets go." Clarisse came and helped him take her to a spare room.
He stared at Chiron and nodded; he didn't want to rub salt in Silena's pain. "Well then I believe we should adjourn this meeting," Chiron said. "We have much to prepare for."
"Thanks for the help," he said to Circe. "It was much easier with your spell."
Circe smiled at him, "You're welcome. Truth spells are relatively easy to do. I hope Percy comes back safely."
"He will. Percy isn't a pushover," he said as the daughter of Hecate left the room.
He looked up at the sky as he returned to his cabin. "Percy come back soon," he muttered. For all of us.
Bianca di Angelo came up to him her brow furrowed. "You ok?" He asked.
"She caused everything," Bianca muttered. "Stupid girl, I can see why the hunt dislikes them."
"Don't worry we'll try to get your brother back when we can I promise," he said.
Bianca nodded. "I hope so too."
He patted her on the back. "We just need faith in our siblings."
