Ch54
Luke no. Annabeth's body shook tears welled up in her eyes as she stared at Luke no she stared at Kronos sitting on his throne.
You promised we would be a family again. Her body shook as looked into Kronos' cold eyes. You left me here all alone.
She wanted to cry and beg for him to come back but her body was cold and numb. Thalia was gone and Luke is now hosting Kronos, she was alone her family was gone.
Kronos stood up with his scythe in hand. "We will soon march on camp and level it to the ground." The crowd cheered while she resisted the urge to burst into tears. "Nico di Angelo step forward."
The son Hades stepped forward fully armored his face cold as stone. "My lord," he said with a small bow.
Kronos snapped his fingers and a monster brought a sword made of stygian iron to the son of Hades. "Take this sword and reunite yourself with your sister," Kronos said firmly. "And punish those gods who have tricked and took her from you."
She winced at the grin on the son of Hades' face as he took the sword bowed. "Thank you my lord."
Kronos laughed. "Lead my armies Ghost General. Unleash your anger upon this world and let them know the consequences of crossing you."
"I won't disappoint you," Nico said firmly his gaze as hard as ice. "They tricked Bianca and turned her against me, I'll make sure they suffer."
She winced at his tone. Camp is in danger. Tears began to fall, she quickly cleaned them less others saw. I'm sorry. All the pain and afflictions she suffered began to surface, each scar physical and mental ached. Luke we were supposed to be a family how could you lie so much to me?
The memory of her brother Malcolm Pace was like a stab in the gut. His cold eyes bore into her just as if her mother was standing in front of her judging her. Gone was that shy boy who kept to himself, instead she saw a warrior who wanted vengeance.
"Now then for our other guest," Kronos said clapping his hands.
The door opened and that golden winged bird flew inside and landed in front of Kronos. The Titan Lord smiled. "The sons of Poseidon have long caused us trouble now it is time to vanquish them."
A wicked smile spread across Luke's face as he extended his hand and a golden aura enveloped the bird before it grew so bright she had to look away.
The Titan Lord's power reverberated throughout the room her body winced as she closed her eyes her body tensing up at the power.
When she opened her eyes she saw a woman standing where the bird was. She had appeared to be in her early twenties and had tan brown skin and short hair.
"Caenis welcome back," Kronos said.
Canis? Her eyes widened as she looked at the woman whose malicious smile made her stomach turn. She was the woman Poseidon raped as compensation he turned her into a man.
"Glad to be back," Caenis said folding her arms. "But why make me a girl? I could kill Poseidon's brats easier if I were a guy."
"I know you can," Kronos said firmly. "However, I think it would be poetic for you to kill them in the form that their father found you in."
Caenis sighed. "Fine I guess this form can do. So long as I can get my vengeance against Poseidon we are good."
She winced at Kronos' laugh. Caenis was a great warrior when she was turned into a man. She won't be an easy opponent. Despite being on separate sides she couldn't help but feel nervous for the sons of Poseidon.
"Caenis you and Nico will lead the charge. Don't reveal yourselves right away and give the enemy some false hope of victory," Kronos said coldly.
"Understood sir," Nico said with a bow.
Caenis nodded. "Don't worry just give me some armor and a spear, Poseidon's brats won't know what hit them."
Kronos nodded. "Weapons will be provided. Now warm yourself up before you go." The Titan Lord then turned to them. "Tonight we end Camp Half Blood!"
She was too numb to respond to the cheers that filled the room. Tears fell down her face as she forced herself to look away and leave. Luke how could leave all alone.
Tears fell down her face as she found an abandoned corner. She fell to the ground her heart racing in her chest. Why? How could you? Anger and resentment started to boil up inside of her. We were supposed to be a family now I'm all alone.
She wrapped her hands around her legs resting her head against her knees. What else do I have now? She left the camp for Luke who left her for Kronos. I have no where else to go.
A hollow sensation spread throughout her body. For a second she wondered if she could go and war the camp but at the moment she had no way or getting to the camp and if even if she could would they believe her? Would anyone at the camp listen to her words?
I would be blamed for a lot of Luke's crimes. I doubt Chiron would head my words, my cabin definitely won't believe me.
She winced remember Malcolm's words and his accusatory glare. I left them and they now suffer because of me.
"Hey are ok?" said a sympathetic voice.
She looked up and cleaned her face to see Alabaster. "I-I've been better," she said softly.
Alabaster handed her a tissue and knelt down next to her. "I'm sorry I know how much Luke meant for you," he said his voice filled with sympathy.
She only nodded cleaning her face with the tissue. Her body shook as Alabaster placed an arm on her shoulder. "I'll stay here with you," he said softly. "I'll keep you safe from anyone and I'll see if there is any news about Thalia."
"Thanks," she said softly her body was still numb but Alabaster's smile was kind enough to ignite a small glimmer of hope inside of her.
"Come on lets find a quiet place," Alabaster said softly.
She nodded as the son of Hecate helped her up and walked with her to her room. Thalia if you are out there please come back. I don't have many people close to me anymore. Please if you are out there be safe.
Chrysaor meticulously looked over the battle plans. Alright we've done everything we could to prepare now we just have to do our best and defeat this army.
He looked up at the various battle arrangements as the campers got into position. I did my best to train them but now we must fight for the camp's survival.
He went over to Bucephalus who was fully armored. "How are you guys doing?" he asked as he noticed the jars of Greek fire next to the pegasi.
"Fine my lord," Bucephalus said. "We shall do our best to assist you defend the camp."
"Good," he said as he brushed the pegasi's hair. "Keep an eye on things in the air for me ok?"
Bucephalus nodded and bowed. "Understood my lord."
Turning around he saw Reyna was busy brushing them. "How are you doing?"
"Alright," Reyna said as she looked over the pots of Greek Fire which the pegasi would drop on the enemies. "Everything is in order."
"Good to hear," he said. "You are a good fighter, I'll be looking forward to working with you."
Reyna looked up at him and nodded. "Likewise. Hopefully Percy returns soon."
"He will," he said. "Don't worry about that. Let me know if you need anything."
He went over to the Hecate Cabin where Circe and Lou Ellen were making magical wards and making other healing potions.
"Circe how are things going?" He asked.
Circe looked up at him, she was wearing armor which was different than her usual dresses. "Fine we are busy making the protective wards."
He nodded. "Good. I know we had our differences but I'm glad to have you by side right now."
Circe chuckled. "Of course Chrysaor." She then turned to face the various campers preparing for war. "I'm not much of a face to face fighter but I am still a very powerful sorceress."
"I know how powerful you are," He said turning to face her he extended a hand. "I look forward your assistance once again."
Circe smiled and shook his hand. "Having to protect you again, just like the old days."
He laughed. "Yeah just like the old days." Scanning the children of Hecate he saw resolute faces. It is here where they will prove their loyalty. The camp was slowly warming up to them but the reason reveal of Silena's treason was still fresh in a lot of people's minds. "Well I wish you all the best, me and Percy will fight by your side if needed."
Circe nodded. "Thanks. Well we are almost done setting up the wards, I'll let you know if you need anything."
"God it," he said as he went over to Chiron and Clarisse who were having an intense discussion. "Chiron everything should be ready for the attack."
Chiron looked up at him and nodded. "Good. We have no news from Percy but hopefully he and the rest of them come back soon."
"He will," he said firmly. "Clarisse how is your cabin doing?"
"Alright," Clarisse said. "We are ready to fight and make our dad proud."
He nodded. "Good."
The daughter of Ares looked at him as if she wanted to say something but quickly turned away and headed back to her siblings. Chiron sighed. "She and Silena were close. Clarisse and Beckendorf are both still shocked at it."
"Yeah it was a shocker alright," he said. The daughter of Aphrodite was being held up in the Big House guarded by two campers. She had confessed to a lot of things but swore she didn't know much. "We'll figure her out later right now lets just defend the camp."
Chiron nodded. "I agree."
