Ch58
Bianca entered the small room guarded by soldiers. Her heart raced in her chest as she held back tears. The hut was made in a secluded area guarded by a few children of Ares who let her inside.
She winced at the brightness of the light. In the bright room behind a pair of bars was small table with a guinea big cage. Her body shook as she saw her brother now a guinea pig running aimlessly on a hamster wheel. "Nico," she said softly.
His eyes looked mad as if there was little sanity left in them. I'm sorry. I wish it could've been different. She cleaned her face with her hand. Her guinea pig brother didn't look at her but if he did he wondered if he would even notice her.
I should've helped you more but you did so many bad things Nico. You shouldn't have rebelled against the gods. She exited her brother's prison and was greeted by the sight of Chiron and Mr. D. "How did it go dear?" Chiron asked sympathetically.
"He really is insane," she said her body shaking as she cleaned the tears off of his eyes.
"I don't care your father is Hades your brother crossed a line," Mr. D said firmly. "Helping the Titan Lord rise, killing our children, and mocking me. He was lucky I didn't send him to his father personally."
"I understand," she sighed. "It's just that it's hard to see him that way." As much as she wanted to be bitter, she knew her brother crossed a line. All actions have consequences and her brother had to face them.
"I know he was corrupted but still your brother shouldn't have insulted my loss like that," Mr. D said firmly. "Though if things work out for us I may commute his punishment and make him human again."
She bowed to the god. "I know my brother made a lot of mistakes I hope you can be merciful on him."
"Trust me I am," Mr. D said firmly drinking from a can of soda. "With half of the minor gods leaving to join the Titan side we are going to be stretched thin."
"Have we lost a lot?" Chiron asked.
"Quite a lot," Mr. D said his brow furrowing. "Some chose to be neutral or follow Hecate's example but others still want to side with the enemy, they are fools to think the Titan Lord would share anything with them."
Mr. D then got up and looked at the fields around them, "I better get going. I have things to attend to." The wine god then disappeared in a flash leaving her with Chiron.
"It's alright Bianca I'm sure once his anger subsides he may give your brother leniency," Chiron said sympathetically.
"I hope so," she muttered as she cleaned the tears from her face. She wasn't expecting sympathy from them, all she could hope was that Nico could one day be pardoned, even if that hope was very slim.
"Will you stay here or return to the hunt?" Chiron asked.
"I'll stay here for a bit," she said. "I have things to do."
"I understand. Be safe we are in troubling time," Chiron said.
She nodded. "Thank you. I'll be visiting Percy." With all the turmoil going on she wanted to help the son of Poseidon and show the world what a child of Hades can do, that not all of them were like her brother.
"For his birthday?" Chiron asked.
"Well that and I think I can help him," she sighed as she took a deep breath. I want to make things right. I'll help Percy to the best of my ability.
Chrysaor felt as if his body had been stabbed, electrocuted, and put on fire at the same time. Damn it I haven't been this bad since I escaped out of a Spanish prison.
He slowly opened his eyes, pain shooting throughout his body. His vision was blurry but slowly it cleared. It was then that he noticed some figures in the room.
"Chris!" Percy yelled.
His younger brother quickly ran and quickly hugged him. "H-Hey Percy," he winced as put a weak arm around his brother's back.
"I'm so glad you're ok," Percy said softly. "After Tyson I couldn't fathom losing you too."
A pang hit his heart as he could hear the emotion from Percy's voice. "I'm glad you're safe too," He said softly.
Percy pulled away and he noticed the other two figures in the room. "Hello Triton," he said before turning to the man in the black robe. "Asclepius I'm grateful for your help."
"No problem," Asclepius said gripping his black bag. "My job is to heal people and there was a great need of it here. Just rest well you'll need to take is slowly for now."
He smiled at the healer. "Thanks. I'm glad for your help again Asclepius."
Triton nodded. "Well father will be glad to know you are awake. He was already upset over the loss of Tyson."
He nodded noticing Percy glare at the ground. Hope you rest well big guy. "Caenis what happened to her?"
"She left," Percy muttered. "She got away. Circe, Reyna, and a few other children of Hecate managed to hold her off. If she wants to kill us we'll make her pay for it."
Triton folded his arms. "Father won't be pleased to know that she is back."
"Did he really do it?" Percy asked softly. "You know force himself on her? It's just I've had dreams about her and dad."
Triton nodded slowly his jaw tight. "Percy if there is one thing you should know it is that no god is perfect. Our father changed over the years and in my opinion he regretted what he did."
Percy nodded. "I understand. I swear I'll train harder to defeat her. I'll avenge Tyson I promise."
"Well just rest well for now," Triton said patting their younger brother on the back. "I'll go back to our father for the moment. Asclepius you can stay at the camp to help with the wounded." The son of Apollo bowed before heading out of the room. Their older brother followed leaving him along with Percy.
"Did we lose a lot of campers?" He asked.
Percy nodded his gaze dark. "Yeah we did. Silena is being punish. Mr. D punished Nico di Angelo hard"
"He was captured?" He asked.
Percy nodded his eyes cold as the Arctic Ocean. "We did. I beat him myself before we took him into custody." His brother looked up at him with a gaze so cold he shifted in the bed. "I never thought I would kill a person but seeing Tyson die and you lying limp broke something in me, I was afraid I was going to go too far."
"It isn't easy to take a life Percy," he said softly. "If we act too hastily there may be unintended consequences."
"I know," Percy said softly. "I'm sort of glad I didn't kill. I don't want problems with Hades and besides his current punishment is bad enough. Mr. D cursed him and Circe turned him into a guinea Pig."
He nodded. "Sounds about right." Personally I've seen worse punishments.
"Anyway rest well I hope you get better," Percy said. "I'll be returning home but I'll check on you."
"Looking forward to it," He said. Percy smiled at him and left the tent.
Tyson rest in peace. A pang hit his heart thinking of the young cyclops. He had so much potential I hope he gets reincarnated into something good.
Caenis damn her. He gripped his bed sheets tightly thinking of that woman. She wants revenge, well now we do too. She was a strong warrior, we'll have to find another way to defeat her.
The door to his tent opened. "My my you are awake," Circe said folding her arms a coy smile on her face. "You really had me there I thought you were going to die."
He laughed. "We both know it will take more than that to kill me."
Circe smiled at him and he noticed the bandages at her side an on your arm. "Who would've thought Caenis would come back with vengeance."
"Me too. I guess the enemy always has some fresh tricks up their sleeves," He said. "Thanks for saving me." It wasn't easy to say but he owed it to her.
Circe smiled at him. "No problem. I may not be the best combatant but when it comes to spells I am one of the best of my mother's children. I'm not as good as Medea but I could hold my often if wanted to." She played with some fire on her hands a mischievous grin on her face.
"Well thanks for helping out," he said. "How are you and your siblings doing?"
"Oh better," Circe said. "I'm showing them all a few new tricks while they adapt to the camp. Anyway have a nice recovery." She smiled at him one last time before leaving the tent.
He sighed as he looked up at the ceiling. I honestly don't know if you are just toying with everyone or are actually trying to be a good person. A part of him thought it was a little of both. For as long as I knew her she liked her games but she can be a serious opponent. Either way he was glad to have her as an ally.
Percy looked around the table of the gathered cabin heads. Drew Tanaka was filling in for Silena while Ethan Nakamura and Ellen Lou were by his sides. "We lost a lot," he said looking everyone in the eyes. It felt weird taking the lead here but after this last battle he was getting used to it. "But we shouldn't let it deter us. We'll defend the camp from anyone who tries to harm us, I know in the future we will face harder battles that is why we must trust each other."
Taking a deep breath he felt everyone's gaze on him. "Lou and Hecate Cabin helped us a lot during this battle. I know some of us have reservations but I think we should give the children of the minor gods a chance. They along Ethan Nakamura son of Nemesis have provided us with help. We shouldn't take any of our allies for granted."
Ethan's face was neutral while Ellen Lou smiled at him. Chiron nodded. "We will need all of the help we can get for the future. Ethan Nakamura we promise to build a cabin in honor of your mother as soon as we can."
Ethan nodded. "Thank you."
He took a deep breath and looked around the room. "Well then I don't really have anything else to say. Is there any more business?"
"Uh actually I have something," Beckendorf said shifting in his seat. "I know Silena did spy for the enemy but I hope we can be lenient with her." Surprisingly the son of Hephaestus was nervous as he looked at him. The son of Hephaestus was one of the strongest guys he knew yet right now there was fear in his eyes. "Please I know she is good deep down."
The room was silent before Clarisse spoke up. "She is my friend too. I know I can't stand traitors but Silena Luke and Annabeth must have done something horrible to make her betray the camp."
The other campers looked around nervously, afraid of provoking Clarisse or him. "Fine," he said calmly much to the surprise of everyone. "I don't blame her for Tyson's death. If she can show herself to be repentant we should give her leniency. Besides it may show the enemy we aren't heartless."
Beckendorf smiled at him as the other campers nodded in agreement. "I agree too," Chiron said. "We focus on our bonds with each other. Silena will still have her punishment but we shouldn't be cruel to her."
Clarisse folded her arms. "I'll look after her. Tanaka if you girls her you'll answer to me," she said coldly making the daughter of Aphrodite flinch.
Drew chuckled nervously. "Of course we wouldn't bully her."
"Good Clarisse I'll let you and Beckendorf make sure she isn't lured back to the enemy or anything like that," he said.
Chiron nodded. "Well I declare this meeting over."
As he was leaving the cabin Ethan came up to him. "Percy I wanted to talk to you," The son of Nemesis said his face calm.
"Sure what is it?" He asked as they walked to the campfire. A few campers were around but no one else was nearby.
"Thanks for everything," Ethan said softly. "I'm glad you are trying to make the world remember my mom and the other minor gods."
"No problem. We are all children of the gods they should all get respect," he said. "You and the Hecate Cabin have proven that in this last battle. You have my word that I'll continue to do all that I can to help the minor gods."
"I'll hold you to that," Ethan said extending a hand.
He smiled and shook it. "No worries. Feel free to continue staying in our cabin until yours is ready."
"Thanks," Ethan said before walking away.
With a sigh he headed towards the Aphrodite Cabin. Outside he found Silena sweeping her face was wet with tears and bags were underneath her eyes. It looked weird to see her without make up. "Hey Silena can we talk?"
The daughter of Aphrodite nearly fell over her body shaking as she looked him over. "Uh sure what is it?" She asked softly her body shaking. Her gaze shifted her body tensing up as if she were expecting to be punished physically.
"Don't worry I'm not here to hurt you I just want to talk," he said calmly.
Silena avoided his gaze nodded. Setting down the broom she followed him. The two walked around the edge of the camp in silence. "I'm sorry for your loss," Silena said softly.
"Thanks," he said softly. "Tyson was family to me." He clenched his fists and took a deep breath. Calm down don't take it out on her. As much as he wanted to he knew the camp needed unity at the moment. "Silena be honest with me what did you know of Caenis?"
"Nothing I swear," Silena said the fear creeping out in her voice. "I only knew that they were going to deploy someone powerful against you and your brother. I thought it would be Nico or maybe Thalia Grace. Please I swear I didn't know."
Looking into her eyes he saw fear in them, he knew she was telling the truth. "I believe you," he said calmly.
"I did what I did because I wanted to save Charlie," Silena said softly her voice almost a sob. "Luke swore to protect him and not hurt him."
She let out a sob and cleaned her face with a tissue. "Luke is a manipulative bastard," he said. "I know it won't be easy to get up from this. A lot of people died today and in the past because of your actions. I'll do my best to keep them off of you back but try to make yourself a real hero."
"Thank you," Silena said softly.
"If anyone gives you trouble tell me or Clarisse ok?" He said with a small smile on his face.
Silena nodded. "I will."
With that he went and decided to take a small walk along the river. The memory of him strangling Nico passed through his mind as he sat down on a boulder. Tyson rest well.
He cleaned his face his body shaking as he remembered his brother. Tyson I'll avenge you I promise. I'll defeat our enemies and avenge. Luke, Annabeth, Caenis I'll take you all down one way or another.
