6:19 AM CT, Star Fox Base

"Fay?" Slippy worriedly croaked.

In a panic, she stood up from the office chair she was sitting in, but before she could try to run, wherever that would be, a wave of some kind of energy hit her. This elicited a yelp as she fell backward into her office chair, which fell backward with her in it. The assailant came into view soon after, and proceeded to remove a small power cell of some kind to reload its weapon.

Fox, Slippy, and Krystal all stood shocked at what they were seeing, helpless to stop this. it was something out of a horror movie. The creature was tall and skinny, with a disproportionately large head, grey skin, and bottomless black eyes. It appeared to be wearing a white, armored bodysuit. Before the creature finished reloading its weapon and aimed again, Fay started erratically vocalizing off screen, then an audible sizzling noise started followed by a series of awful shrieks coming from the poor canine. The alien appeared to have felt pity for her as it immediately looked sincerely horrified, switching its weapon to the other hand and grabbing a second pistol out of a second holster. Slippy promptly fainted before the alien could fire the newly revealed ballistic pistol into Fay multiple times, causing the room to go silent again.

A moment of more shocked silence passed before the alien dropped the ballistic pistol.

"Ayack Seviet!" The creature disgustedly exclaimed in its foreign language before quickly disassembling the first weapon, then throwing the separate parts across the room and turning to notice the webcam that had shown its actions. It stood there with an "Oh shit." look for another moment before the sound of an energy discharge rang out in the background, followed by the call suddenly cutting off.

"We need to go." Fox said, shaken as he went running out of the room and down the hallway shouting for the two absent team members.

Krystal just stood there shocked for a moment, before Fox, for the first time ever, heard her yell "What in the fuck!"

Fox, too freaked out to react to the vixen's sudden curse, practically busted open Falco's door. "Falc-" He went silent upon seeing a certain feline was on top of the pheasant. Thank God they were both still clothed. "Uh..." Falco immediately spoke up in an understandably agitated tone, "What?" while Katt fell off, trying to land next to him but only succeeding in falling off onto the floor completely.

"Shit, sorry, I, uh, I need you two geared up." Fox stammered, still visibly freaked out. "We need to go to Fay's, a Grey just shot her!" He bolted back out down the hall and took a right turn toward the armory, which, unlike the multiple spare rooms throughout the base, was still an armory.

9:41 PM FT, 2 Minutes Ago, K.E.S. Neçaì.

In orbit over Fichina, a relatively large saucer-shaped craft remained motionless, hovering miles above the Spaniel residence.

The hallways bustled with a crew of a little under two hundred relatively short, large-headed grey people. Unlike the tall, skinny home invaders on the ground, they had relatively large yet "normal" eyes with white scleras, black pupils, and irises of varying colors much like that of Humans and most Lylatian species.

On the inside, the ship's captain spoke into a headset in this people's native language. "Security announcement."

The headset responded by replying "Calling shipwide security announcement.", also in the foreign language.

"Narth here. Officer Xal, Officer Karn, Lieutenant Zya, and Nixus, please meet me in Translocator Station Two. Bring your weapons and armor, and I'll explain when we get to the surface."

Two men clad in orange and grey bodysuits, advanced full-face helmets, armored gauntlets and leg armor, and vests with back-mounted apparatuses, came into a rectangular room toting sleek energy rifles, followed by a woman in a black uniform with red and purple markings, and black gloves. There were three silvery bands sewn in around the right arm. She was wearing a pair of AR goggles and had a belt with a series of gadgets around her waist. On her hip was a sort of energy pistol with a similar appearance to the rifles held by the security officers, and was wearing body armor made with one of the ship's highly advanced molecular fabricators. Lastly, a six foot tall, matte black robot walked in. It appeared similar to the rest of the ship's crew, but about two feet taller than average. It was wearing a black and red uniform with four silver ribbons sewn in around the right arm. A fifth individual stood at a console adjacent from a lit-up platform where the ship's captain, Narth, stood wearing a similar red and black uniform with identical combat armor. On his back was another rifle mounted on a magnetic holster.

"Great, you all here." He said, making a gesture to the man behind the console. "Let's get down there and I'll explain."

On the surface of the icy planet, the alien away team materialized in a silent flash of yellow light. To their surprise, in a forested area. Even on a cold, nearly inhospitable planet, native life had managed to develop and thrive.

Nixus immediately begun scanning the surrounding area and drew a pistol from his belt, his eyes going from a soft white to a deep orange.

Zya, the technician on the team, looked at the captain expectantly.

"Alright, friends: based on eavesdropped communications, apparently, a Cornerian woman somehow got ahold of a Zvëzdar memory card. Also based of those communications, I believe there's something important on it. We're gonna thwart a hit squad and take that card." He pointed to a lit up house past the trees.

"Why didn't you call earlier if you eavesdropped a signal?" One of the security officers, Xal, asked him as they all began toward the house.

"That's a good question." He replied quietly. "The thing is, I picked it up in my office just awhile ago. It was too on-the-spot to forewarn of."

"How should we go about this, sir?" Officer Karn asked and flipped a switch on his vest. Narth stopped. "You and Xal, power up your T.L.V.s and charge the front door. Nixus, how many life signs can you detect nearby?" Narth instructed, then asked.

"Four Zvëzdar, no Lylatian." The robot replied. "Wait, there is one. It's feint, but it's there."

Both security officers flipped switches on their vests and zipped off out of the trees and toward the house. Sounds of energy discharges rang out followed by a loud beep from a detonating electrical disruptor.

"I didn't say now!" The captain exclaimed and started running in the direction the officers went.

Those still with him ran out of the forest alongside him, where at the front door lied a dead Zvëzdar with a newly made crater in his chest. When they entered, another dead Zvëzdar was flat on the floor. A blast from a particle beam weapon just as the first.

Narth drew his weapon, as did Zya.

They heard a door creak open, followed by a missed shot at Nixus from a Zvëzdar with a coil-pistol and a particle blast to the back of the head. It dropped instantly before the two security officers came in the door with their vests deactivated.

"Nixus, are you sure there are only supposed to be four?" Zya asked the robot. "This woman's a former member of Star Fox. I'd think she's a bit dangerous."

"I'm not, they may send back-" The robot paused for a moment and looked up toward the ceiling. "The final Zvëzdar has disappeared, presumably via molecular transportation. I'm picking up a Lylatian life sign nearby, but not the fading one I mentioned before."

"Shit!" The captain ran toward a staircase and went up them, only to see the lifeless body of a certain Lylatian poodle on the ground through a nearby doorway in a patch of bloodstained carpet. The rest of the away team came upstairs behind him, Xal and Karn now having deactivated their vests.

"Zya, get over here, please." Narth crouched down next to the partially charred body.

"Could the P.R.S. revive this woman?" He asked her as she entered. She immediately gagged and looked away upon seeing the carcass. "Shit, man!"

"Can it?" He asked her again in a serious tone.

"There's no guarantee, but maybe." She looked back queasily and walked over. "Here, put my anklet on her." She knelt down outside of the puddle and took a black tracking anklet off of her ankle, firmly pressed a button on the back, stood up, and handed it to Narth. "It's reset."

"The other lifeform's within thirty feet and approaching rapidly. The person may be a friend or loved one to this woman and may become hostile out of vengeful anger. The blood stain's more than telling." Nixus stated as Narth fastened the anklet around the dead Fay's ankle, and a moment later, a light enveloped the body before it started to disintegrate, presumably being moved to and reconstituted on the Neçaì.

"Put 'em on stun, guys." Narth stood up. "Can you speak to that person, Nixus?"

"Yes, I can. What would you like me to say, sir?"

"Explai-" It was before he could finish that sentence, he made eye contact with a asssault-shotgun-toting lynx a few steps down in the stairway.

She looked at the aliens, then at the dematerializing body. It took a moment for her to realize who it was. Without another word, she aimed and fired the shotgun twice at Xal as he raised his own weapon. Needless to say, an armor-piercing .12 gauge slug was more than enough to penetrate a helmet designed to stop medium-intensity particle beams, plasma bolts, and smaller-caliber projectiles. Dark majenta blood and what could only be assumed to be bits of his brain splattered the wall and formerly un-pierced closet door behind him. Before the bedy even hit the wall, it started to dematerialize in a similar way to that of Fay's.

Another headshot to Karn, and two to Narth and they were out for the count as well, all over the course of about three seconds.

Nixus immediately got in front of Zya, who stood still, shocked at and terrified by Miyu's prowess. "If you shoot this one, she will die having given your friend her only assurance she'd survive a violent encounter down here." He spoke sternly, now in a language Miyu understood.

She paused and looked at the now gone Fay and the three dematerializing bodies on the floor, then opened her mouth to speak. She was cut off by a particle blast to the back.
