Ch67
Chrysaor had many closes encounters before both on land and on sea. Whether it be fighting against the Spanish Armada, Trafalgar, or the various other various battles he always did his best to keep a level head. However, now with so much on the line he was starting to feel the pressure.
Calm down losing my cool will do me no good. He rubbed his eyes as he entered the tent he shared with Percy. He spent most of the day riding Bucephalus and providing aide to where he could while also giving advise to Percy who was running this whole campaign.
He found Percy sitting on his bed with his face in his hands. "Hey don't worry you're doing great," he said sitting down next to him and patting his brother on the back.
Percy smiled at him. "Thanks. A lot has been happening. I don't feel tired though so that's something."
"Well even Achilles needed to rest," he said. "You need to rest as well."
"Did you ever get tired when you were immortal?" Percy asked.
"No. But I still had to rest to recover. You're still mortal don't forget that," he warned.
Percy nodded. "What's it like being immortal? I mean if it is anything like I'm feeling now then I feel great."
"It's different," he said frowning at his brother. "You lose track of the small things that make humans great. You know how you view rest right now? Imagine viewing those you love in that same way. You'd love the sight of those you love the most."
Percy stared at him in shock. "If I did become immortal I wouldn't abandon my mom or anyone here."
"I'm not saying you wouldn't but immortality changes people. I've learned a lot being mortal but it would take effort for me to remember the lessons I've learned here," he said looking his brother in the eye. "Remember Dionysus was also a demigod."
"True," Percy muttered looking at the wall. "How do you think Triton and dad are doing?"
"Busy defending their realm," he said folding his arms. "Father won't be helping defeat Typhon, that's what Kronos is counting on."
Their elder brother stayed the remainder of the day and caused enough damage on the shoreline that the enemy had to retreat from the shoreline.
"You do that. Rest well I'll keep a watch on things here," he said as he got up. Percy nodded and closed his eyes.
He went outside the tent and did a patrol along the area. "How are things?" He asked Lou who was looking over some reports.
The daughter of Hecate looked up at him her eyes had bags underneath them. "Alright. We had some wind spirits drop some flyers but so far none of my siblings on the other side responded."
With the numbers the way they are I don't blame them. "Well it's the thought that counts," he said as he looked up at the sky. "How are your siblings here doing?"
"They are fine," Lou said. "We want to prove our mother's worth here. We will show everyone what the children of Hecate can do." The daughter of Hecate looked up at the sky. "Our strongest siblings is fighting for Kronos, I met him once his name is Alabaster."
"Is he strong?" He asked.
She nodded, "The strongest child of Hecate in a long time. Apparently he convinced a lot of our siblings to stay with Kronos." A sad look spread across her face but it was quickly replaced by one of determination. "But I wont let that stop me, if I run into him I'll fight him. He won't be easy to beat but I'll do all I can to defeat him."
"Don't worry I'm sure you'll do well," he said. "Me and Percy have our own tough enemies but we'll do what we can to win this war. Anyway get some rest you can't be up all night."
"Alright see you around," Lousaid before turning around to return to her tent.
He continued to watch over the camp until Beckendorf came to relieve him of his duty. "Thanks. I'm going to get some rest," he said stretching his arms.
The son of Hephaestus nodded. "No problem man. I'll keep a watch on things over here."
"Everything alright?" He asked.
"Yeah its just Silena," Beckendorf said looking at the ground. "Many people dislike her for what she did. Even when we are together there is still distance between us, I fear she thinks I'm not good enough for her."
"Well she is honest in trying to make amends. Me and Percy will think of something," he said.
Beckendorf smiled at him and patted his back. "Thanks man. Now get some rest."
He managed to get a good amount of rest that night. The next morning he woke up and noticed Percy sitting up in his bed rubbing his head. "Another dream?"
Percy nodded. "Rachel. I think she is coming here."
"What for?" He asked.
"I'm not sure. She's been having these weird dreams and made a deal with her dad to come here," Percy said rubbing his head.
"We'll keep an eye out for her. Come on we should get going," he said. Percy nodded and after getting ready for the day.
"Malcolm how are things?" Percy asked as they got their pegasi ready.
"We are being pressed hard I don't know how long we can last," Malcolm said with a tired gaze. "The statues I activated can only do so much. But all sides are doing their best to hold the enemy at bay."
"Good come on you can ride with me," Percy said. Malcolm nodded and got on Blackjack with Percy. Both pegasi flew through the sky as they examined the city.
The entire area was a war zone with campers doing their best to repel the onslaught of Kronos's army. They flew over to where the hunters and children of Hecate were fighting. A series of giants trying to break through their lines.
Bucephalus flew and kicked a giant in the face. He leapt off of his pegasi and stabbed the giant in the throat before brining it down on again killing it.
"About time," Zoe said as she fired some arrows at a giant.
"Don't worry we'll help out for a bit," he said as he stabbed a giant in the gut.
"Percy Jackson any news from Bianca?" Zoe asked.
Percy shook his head. "She is still trying to convince her dad to help."
Zoe swore. "It is a foolish quest. Lord Hades it known to hold grudges."
"I know but we need all the help we can get," Percy said as another row of giants approached them. "Besides I think Bianca can do it."
"Another group is coming forward!" Lou yelled.
"Come on lets do this," he said gripping his golden sword tightly.
Ellen's hands glowed blue as she and her siblings blasted the giants with energy knocking them down. The hunters rained arrows down on the enemy ranks as he and along with Percy and Malcolm charged into the battlefield.
He stabbed a giant in the head killing it instantly before helping Malcolm take down another giant. The three of them continued to help the Hecate Cabin and Hunters to fend off the wave of monsters.
The Hecate cabin casted various spells for the giants trip over themselves leaving them ready to be taken down. He was able to freeze a few with his eyes before ending them while Louhelped Percy and Malcolm take down a few dozens.
The sound of a horn blared in the distance. "Zoe is that one of yours?" He asked.
"No its not," Zoe said frowning in the distance. "Look!"
They turned and saw a group of centaurs led by Chiron charge at the giants. "Chiron!" Percy yelled.
"Hello Percy I brought some help," Chiron said with a smile. "Looks like I made it just in time."
Percy nodded. "Yeah we can use all of the help we can get right now."
He nodded when he noticed what appeared to be a helicopter in the sky. "Hey Percy I think we have company!" He pointed to the helicopter which was starting to lose control in the air.
"Oh gods Rachel!" Percy said.
"Come on lets help her," he said as he called for their pegasi.
Percy nodded. "Lou someone important is in that helicopter can you and your siblings bring it down safely?"
Lou nodded. "Of course just let us get closer to it."
They quickly went over to where the helicopter was free falling. Lou and a few of her siblings were chanting a spell and a light aura enveloped the helicopter allowing it to freeze in the air.
He watched as Percy flew to the helicopter and take out a frightened Rachel Dare. As soon as Percy landed he let Rachel down.
"Rachel Dare a pleasure to see you again," He said.
Rachel nodded and took a deep breath. "Likewise. That was pretty intense."
"What are you doing here?" Percy asked
"I've been having these visions and dreams," Rachel said looking his brother in the eyes. "Percy I feel like I have to tell you that you aren't the hero."
Percy's eyes widened in surprise. "What do you mean?"
Rachel sighed. "That. You aren't the hero. You will play a role in the decision but you won't be the final hero. I'm sorry."
His brother sighed. "It's alright. I'll make sure you are safe." His brother turned to all of them. "Lets go back to base and figure out our next plan."
That night he dreamed of Pegasus. His brother was flying around a large dark mass of air.
"Father the gods are barely holding Typhon back," one of his children said.
He heard Pegasus swear and could feel the apprehension on him. "Continue our operations and assist the gods where you can."
"Yes father," The child said.
"We just need to hold out a little longer," Pegasus said. "Just a little longer and I know we our efforts will yield fruit."
When he woke up his body was sore all over. Damn it brother be safe. He sighed as he rubbed his eyes. Who would've thought that we would've come so far. Taking a deep breath he got up and got ready for the day. Come back soon brother then we can all celebrate together.
As soon as he arrived at the command tent he found Percy having a tense conversation with Malcolm and Chiron. "Percy what's going on?"
"Silena left and returned back to camp," Percy said. "Apparently she wanted to talk to Clarisse."
Reyna frowned and folded her arms. "Such a stubborn girl to not fight with the rest of us."
"Well if she can convince Clarisse even better," Chiron said his face betraying his uncertainty.
"Have you heard from Bianca?" Zoe asked. "I was told you were having dreams of her."
"Y-Yeah I have," Percy said his face turning red at the way she phrased the question. "She is still trying to convince her dad but I think she can get to him."
Zoe sighed. "I believe in Bianca. But this task she is undertaking is not an easy one."
"Lord Hades holds grudges for a long time," Chiron said. "Percy have you or Chris heard from your father?"
"Our father is still defending his realm but we told Triton to try and convince him to join," he said. "It won't be easy but we are also willing to try and talk to him if necessary."
Percy nodded just s the tent opened. Charles Beckendorf came running in. "Percy there is a ferocious drakon out there, my siblings are trying their best but it is too strong."
"On it," Percy said. "Come on everyone we'll discuss our future plans later."
They all raced outside where they saw a large drakon being fended off by a bunch of campers. "Oh no the Lydian Drakon," Zoe said her eyes widening.
"The what?" Percy asked gripping Riptide.
"A creature that can only be slain by a child of Ares," Chiron said. "I take it the Titan Lord noticed their absence."
Beckendorf gripped his hammer. "Percy what should we do?"
His brother looked at him. "Chris go with Reyna and Zoe to make sure are lines don't break. I'll try to handle the rest."
"Got it," he said just as he saw a group of campers in the distance.
"For Ares!" Yelled a bunch of campers their weapons drawn as they raced towards the Drakon
"Clarisse she came," Malcolm said.
He frowned at the leader, it was definitely a woman but Clarisse was not that skinny and she would never be that afraid. "Oh gods," He said softly.
"No Silena," Beckendorf said tears falling down his face.
"Everyone go now!" Percy yelled just as the monster attacked the daughter of Aphrodite.
