Thank you for the review. there is actually going to be a flashback chapter but it is not about Madara. It is for giving an idea about what this Naruto went through. His time with Madara will mostly remain mystery but you will get short flashbacks as the story goes on. I think the flashbacks should start in a few chapters when he finally starts interacting with people.
Naruto knew he was one of the higher ranking officers, so he just looked at him innocently and said." I woke up hungry. I decided to go to the kitchen for dinner, but I saw the clock there and noticed it was too late, so I decided to make my way back."
He gave him a skeptical look but decided to believe him when he didn't sense a lie. After all, why else would a three-year-old be awake at 4 am? "Go back to your room." He said. Naruto nodded and went quickly.
Three years later
Naruto got up at 6 as usual. He took a shower and ate the tray of breakfast in his room. Then he wore his training clothes for the day.
His training regimen was always the same. From 7 to 1 was for physical conditioning. It began with 2 hours of physical exercises to build his endurance, stamina, and strength. Then for the next 2 hours, he would work on taijutsu and the next 2 hours were for kenjutsu.
Then he would have a quick shower and lunch and prepare for the afternoon training. From 2 till 5, it was for fuinjutsu. And then, till 8, he would work on ninjutsu.
After dinner, he would spend 2 hours learning history, politics, medicine, and anything else useful for his education. Over the years, these timings haven't changed much, but the amount of breaks he needed has lessened quickly.
Another he had to do regularly went for checkups. About an hour before his sleeping time, he had to go to the lab, where they would test almost everything about him.
From his physical health and growth rate to chakra levels and generation speed. He was then given a pill designed to slow his chakra generation and then hooked up to a machine to burn all his chakra until he was up to a level that would fill up to 85% until the following day.
This was so that his chakra was never full to have excess chakra. But another reason for it was to strengthen his tenketsu points by extracting chakra from each of them so that in a few years when his body could handle his reserves, his tenketsus were also strong enough for the density of his chakra.
He was six now, and he was at chunin level. While his training seemed extensive, it was mainly focused on his body and mind since his chakra coils weren't developed enough to focus primarily on ninjutsu.
His ninjutsu training was mostly chakra control, sensory training, elemental manipulation, and a few simple D ranks from all elements. It was discovered early that he was a talented sensor. While in his previous life, his poor chakra control blinded his senses to the world around him. In this lifetime, by getting early training, he became an excellent sensor.
Because of Kurama, he had the natural ability to sense negative emotions. Through his training, he achieved a forewarning sense of whoever wanted to attack him.
While trained assassins learned to control their killing intent, there was still a sense of darkness when they wanted to attack someone. It also happened when people lied.
No matter how small the thing was that they wanted to lie about, lying or even hiding the truth always made a dark impression on the chakra. Naruto could sense these changes in the chakra, no matter how small.
One thing he discovered by accident was the chakra chains. About a year ago, he meditated in his bathroom since it was the only place he wasn't being watched. He established early on that he liked a long bath, so he wasn't bothered about it.
He would often enter his inner world to talk to Kurama. Still, that day, he decided to train on his sensory ability. He was trying to sense the shinobi in the facility when he took notice of his chakra.
He noticed while he could feel the flow of his and Kurama's chakra in his body. There was an anomaly near his heart. At first, he panicked, believing it to be a cursed seal from Danzo. Still, by examining it further, he only became more confused.
There was nothing evil about the chakra. It felt as if it was trapped, unable to flow in his body, concentrated in a single point. He tried to access the wired chakra by pulling it out, but he met a lot of resistance.
He was stubborn, so he used more and more of his chakra to focus on the point and slowly felt the barrier begin to crack. After a few more minutes of pulling, the barrier suddenly broke, and a chakra rushed through his whole system.
He was thrown back and disoriented when he felt Kurama shouting in his head. "What happened, Kurama?" he asked.
"I can't believe you, brat. How can you be so stupid?" he yelled in his head.
"Hey, I take offense to that. I was trying to feel the strange chakra," Naruto said.
"You idiot. You just unlocked your damned mother's chakra chains." He roared.
"Wait, what? I thought I didn't have them. What do you mean? It's impossible!" he said.
"When has the impossible meant anything to you? I told you, idiot, you unlocked them. Go ahead and try." He said, annoyed.
"mmmm, I have no idea how to use them." He said with a sweat drop. After a brief explanation from the beast and a few tries, he made a chain from the center of his chest since it was the easiest, according to Kurama.
Naruto didn't want anyone to know about this new development, so he started training with them only when he was alone and unsupervised. The chains were painful to create and hard to control.
They originated from his tenketsu points, which would come out of his skin, so each time he wanted to use them, he had to rip his skin and muscles to grow them. For controlling them while they responded to his general will, controlling several of them at the same time required a lot of concentration.
He also discovered that the smaller the chain was, the bigger the tenketsu point significantly impacted the pain. Smaller chains were easier to control and were faster, while the bigger ones were more durable.
Based on what Kurama told him, he had to do a few things while he held someone with the chains. The chains would slowly drain the person he was holding, giving their chakra to Naruto. However, if the person struggled, he had to use the same amount of chakra that they were trying to use to nullify their attempts.
Overall it would be a tug of war for dominance over the chakra. Naruto was confused about how his mother managed to hold Kurama with his chains. To his shame, the Biju admitted that by the time he was broken out of the Genjutsu, he was far too angry to think of using chakra.
The situation with the Uchiha clan was slowly improving. While Danzo still sent his agents to attempt and destroy their reputation, Naruto and Orochimaru's plan was slowly working.
Diverting the attention of civilians was an easy task. People soon got tired of making rumors and paying attention to the Uchihas. They mostly ignored them just as they did with other shinobis.
It took a long time, but the Uchiha seemed more settled. By taking more missions steadily, they have more connections to other clans. Also, staging the incidents was also a great help to their reputation.
All Naruto had to do was to cause them when KMPF officers were nearby. By gaining a reputation for being efficient, they tried to make an effort and become more efficient in handling more situations.
Naruto didn't have enough freedom and mobility yet to get information about Danzo's other plans. He didn't have access to most parts of the base unsupervised. The best he could do was make shadow clones in the bathroom every morning. The clones would then use henge, turn themselves into mice, and hide their chakra. Going through a small bathroom vent, they could get themselves out of the base and into the city, where they would change themselves into civilians.
He was still making the original 10 clones, but now 2 of them were charged with enough chakra to last the whole day. The 8 regular clones would go around town to gather information about everything, and when they were tired, they would just pop.
They would usually use different nondescript henges to avoid suspicion. They would also try to defuse situations that could hurt the peace. They were the ones who were mostly in charge of the Uchiha situation.
But the 2 charged clones had a much more challenging task. When Naruto began his project, he first made 2 clones who went into the city for a while and picked pockets or did odd jobs here and there to gather money.
They would store all the money in a safe place that only increased over time. When they finally had enough money, they went outside the city. They pretended to be a couple of newlyweds who ran from their town because the girl's parents were against the marriage since the boy was penniless.
They then decided to move into Konoha and start a new life with the money the girl stole from her parents before scaping. They decided to move to Konoha since it was the closest shinobi village. The girl's parents feared shinobi, so they wouldn't look there for them.
It wasn't a great story, but it got them into Konoha. They then went to the cheapest inn they could find until they could find a house to rent. Of course, during this time, they had to use a hidden Hiraishin seal so the real Naruto could send 2 clones to replace them every day.
This went on for a while. They had to look for jobs that weren't physically taxing or dangerous to avoid popping. Also, the positions had to be beneficial to get helpful information.
In the end, the guy managed to get a job as a resturant waiter at a restaurant and the girl as a bartender. Both places were favored by shinobi so they could eavesdrop on their conversations.
They also rented a small apartment to avoid suspicion. They were also working on designing a seal transfer change information.
The problem with the seal was that a sensor could feel the continuous transformation, and someone with a dojutsu could see the seal. They were trying to make the transfer time of the chakra faster so that they would only use it at home, but they still had a problem with it since such a fast transfer could often pop them. Another problem they had was that if they didn't pop for long periods, the amount of information they would collect would get too much for Naruto's brain to handle.
He would already get headaches if they lasted more than 12 hours. But on the other hand, some of the unimportant memories for Naruto were actually important to the clones. Regular daily conversations and relationships they had were one such piece of information.
A solution that they found after sending a clone to Orochimaru was that instead of making the orinal clone pop and transform some of the information by finishing the first seal and making the clones permanent, he could work on a seal to only transfer some info to a clone and then by having the original clone to make a clone with only valuable information and having it pop, Naruto would only get the information he needed.
Naruto decided not to increase the number of permanent closes until the seals were ready. His final plan was to have these clones in most parts of the village and maybe even send some of them outside to act as a spy network.
He was already daydreaming about the day when he was the man with the most knowledge in the shinobi world. So far, the only necessary information he found was that Orochimaru was under Danzo's surveillance.
Naruto knew that Orochimaru and Danzo worked together in the previous timeline before Orochimaru was discovered. In this timeline, however, Orochimaru acted smartly.
Instead of outright refusing his relationship with Danzo, he kept working with him but with some boundaries. He was no longer experimenting on children. Instead, he did it on prisoners who were sentenced to death.
Since he had the knowledge from his previous life, he already knew the result of many of these experiments and was only putting up a show. He would buy time as much as he needed, declaring some of the experiment failures, and move to other projects.
No one could call his hand on it since they didn't have evidence and couldn't fully understand his research. he was also slightly changing the direction of his experiments.
While he was still obsessed with immortality and learning about all Jutsu, he was more ethical with his research. He would also work on things for the benefit of the village, such as organ regeneration or developing poisons and antidotes for ANBU and T&I.
Overall he was enjoying his work in a way that would help him to remain in the village. He would also sometimes train Anko even though she was already a Jonin. They would often work on poisons and poison ideas together.
He would also leave the village often enough. Everyone believed it was for his research, while in reality, he was trying to find some of the previous Oto nin to use them as spies and a support force in case they needed them.
It was only a small force now under the surveillance of some of his old acquaintances since most of them were children now. They were hiding in one of the original hideouts he used for Oto. Waiting and training until they were ready.
It was a play both Naruto and Orochimaru came up with. since Naruto trusted Orochimaru, he didn't ask many questions about it and only left it for him.
