I will keep a running list of male to female names as characters are introduced at the end of each chapter.

"You will not be going anywhere without an adult supervisor for the remainder of the school year, likely the summer as well." Harry nodded, patiently waiting for further punishments. He knew it was coming but considering what had been achieved because of his breaking of the rules it would be worth it. "You will also be wearing a charmed tracker for the time being and you will keep it on you at all times. We know this seems harsh but…"

Harry interrupted gently, "But I've broken the rules, I understand and agree. The danger is over though, at least as far as I've heard, so I'm not planning on going anywhere but if it helps your worries then I will happily keep it."

Both parents nodded, "This isn't permanent Harry, despite what your mother thinks." James added, earning a scowl and a mutter from the woman. "We just… need to ease out of this and get some sleep for once. This will help."

Once more the redhead spoke moments after her husband finished, "There is also going to be some serious conversation about this coming summer. No locked doors but perhaps fewer parties."

The boy did his best fake gasp, "What? I'm not allowed to go to celebrations of old, sexist pricks who want nothing to do with me unless I'm famous? I'm hurt, devastated really."

James smirked while Lily rolled her eyes, "You take after your father and his friend far too much for my liking. Could you at least act as though it was a punishment? You will be doing chores instead you know."

Idly, he wondered if they knew how easy the chores were compared to what he had become accustomed to.

***HP:O ***

It surprised none of the staff to see an article in The Prophet from its most 'beloved' writer mere days after the event. In fact, it was so unsurprising that several adults were rather annoyed by the simple fact they were expecting such a thing.

"Does the woman have nothing better to do then gossip about children?" Snape questioned to no one in particular as she skimmed over the writing, expression darkening with each passing moment. "Wild conjecture and far-flung theories supported by second-hand evidence and vague interview questions as always, she must be so proud."

McGonagall snorted from nearby, "If memory serves, she was from Slytherin House…"

Both members of said house glared up at the woman, but it was Riddle who spoke first, "Shall we go over some of Gryffindor's more notable graduates? I'm sure there is so much to be proud of from your flock as well."

"Now now," Dumbledore interrupted, before an argument could begin, "let's not start any unnecessary conflicts. Regardless of Ms. Skeeter's words this is a time to unwind and celebrate an end to what has been plaguing the students, and even the country, for many months. Obviously, I would like to wait another week or two for Auror confirmations, but I believe Hogsmeade access will be permitted once more."

Seeing an opportunity to switch topics, Sprout was quick to add her own agreements, "It will certainly liven up the mood among the students. Merilyn knows they have been cooped for far too long."

***HP:O ***

Like all of Skeeter's headlines, Harry opted not to read this one. He didn't care what it said about him, what it said about anyone really. His own experiences had taught him the woman made up whatever she wanted, and it was published, regardless of how false, or dangerous, the words were.

What he did notice was how after every article of the past few months made its rounds attention would shift dramatically towards him.

He didn't like it, didn't like being the center of everything, didn't like the whispers when he walked past a group or left a room, didn't like the occasional glances or outright stares. It bothered him, not quite as much as it had when a scar adorned his face, but it still wasn't nice.

There was also a far greater number of requests for tutoring and while he had considered opening the group up again, he didn't want it to turn into something he was bound by every week or become a nuisance for the actual Defense class.

So, for the time, he kept it in smaller numbers, because he needed to have a life and time for school as well after all.

***HP:O ***

Pandora Malfoy smirked as she began reading the letter sent by her mother. After Skeeter's article had been released, and with some investigation from the adults, she had been told to continue pursuing Harry.

Perfect

She knew it would have been only a matter of time before his worth was made clear. Even better was the fact she had already begun the courting process. All she had to do now was…

The smirk fell from her face forming something cold and dangerous. The letter hadn't stopped at 'pursue the boy' but had continued on to explain the gravity of the situation.

Word among the older generation was that he had grown quite the following, something Pandora already knew of, and there would undoubtedly be rival parties.

If she couldn't get it done, then they would be moving to Cleopatra, who due to be in the same year they assumed might have a better chance of success.

Unacceptable

It was already irritating, although not yet problematic, enough to have her betrothed going on casual dates with other witches but the idea that another might send a proposition to his parents was infuriating. The fact their her own mother even implied that Cleo might be a better fit for him was a borderline insult, even if her sibling had actually gone on a date with him whereas she had not.

Still, it didn't matter. Even with Delphini's apparent interest, even with all these other faceless cunts trying for his attention. It didn't matter.

Because Harry and her had history, they had an understanding. Others might have rushed forward to try and claim some of his interest but they would be mere flashes in his mind, a night out, a free meal, and some new conversation that was all they were.

Harry knew who would be the best choice in the end, the one who was patient and practical, who had a goal in mind and a means to accomplish it, who could give him everything he could ever want and more.

Who else could compare?

Still, there was an unsightly voice that whispered about how easily young men could be lead astray. Perhaps her timetable, now thoroughly endorsed by her mother, should be moved up.

***HP:O ***

He wasn't exactly how to respond when, upon entering the Slytherin common room, Bliss Zabini strode over before doing a low bow and a letter with her free hand. Sure, the girl hadn't been entirely discreet about her interest in him, but it was something entirely different to be this extravagant. With an awkward glance about and seeing no one within sight who might be assuredly on his side and give him a clue as to how he should proceed, Harry took the offered object as the teen corrected her posture with a bright smile. "I was hoping you would accompany me on an outing to Hogsmeade tomorrow."

The boy shifted a bit uncomfortably, "Uhm, sure I guess that's fine."

Once again, she smiled before turning and walking away. Less than two hours later and he was confronted in a hallway by another student, this time it was Daphne. "I heard you are going to Hogsmeade with Zabini tomorrow."

"Uhhh yeah? I guess? She asked and…"

The girl immediately produced an envelope from her robes and while it wasn't accompanied by some over-the-top motion Harry knew it was a similar request. Still, he hadn't been given enough time to find a way to figure out the implications, or a way to politely decline, and thus he took it earning a much softer smile, "I prefer Friday nights." She explained before departing.

Well shit.

By the end of the day he was trying his best to actively avoid others, darting around corners when he saw the telltale signs of someone looking for another individual. His tally was up to seven.

Seven!

It wasn't even taking into account that most had tried to plan for the weekend which meant he would either spend both days at Hogsmeade or try and deal with the consequences of rescheduling or canceling.

Would girls cry if he did such a thing in this world? He didn't bloody know! It had gotten bad enough that even some of the professors had taken notice and intervened when the situation became a bit too uncomfortable or aggressive, such as McGonagall threatening to send a letter to both of their parents when Frankie Weasley had crudely suggested they find an empty broom closet to snog in.

Finally, he made it to the library and was saved from an older student walking up to him when the librarian gave a deathly glare towards the girl as if to say, 'Do it and you'll be stuck in detention for the rest of the year'.

It bought him enough time to slip away and locate his siblings and friends who had found a table in the back, hidden enough from view so to allow for some privacy.

"Oh thank Merlin, Merilyn, whatever," he groaned as he fell into his chair, head in his arms with a sigh of relief. "I swear if one more person asks me on a date today…"

Then he heard it, a quiet whimper, one which drew his head up and focused his gaze on the redheaded girl sitting across from him, one with a distinct blush of embarrassment on her face.

Double shit.

"Ginny…" he whispered apologetically, earning a quick shake of her head.

"No, no its okay, it can't be fun being chased down and harassed I'll just uhm…"

But it wasn't fair to her that he still couldn't read the room and keep his mouth shut, "It's not you, if I could, I would just cancel with everyone else and happily go with you."

It seemed to bring her spirits back up and earned a shy smile in return. "So why don't you?" The new voice drew his attention to his less-studious sister, who was looking back in confusion, "Cancel with all of the others I mean. You can say 'no'."

He shrugged helplessly, "Can I? Is it going to make a bunch of girls cry if I tell them I don't want to go on a date with them in front of a bunch of other people? I would feel awful if I did that." Once more he looked over to Ginny, who this time offered him a small, understanding, smile.

"Screw em,"

"Amy!"

"What? It isn't like he's required to go out with every girl who asks Hermione, that's complete bullshit."

The bookworm looked caught between agreeing and scolding the girl for her use of language. Luckily, it was Harriet who found the happy medium. "I think what they are trying to say Harry is you shouldn't feel obligated to say 'yes' or even keep plans, especially when so many people are asking you and you have your own life and school to worry about. If they can't understand then it is their problem, not yours."

"Again though," he interrupted, "the crying. Would you want to make a bunch of boys cry by telling them 'I won't go out with you because a bunch of other people already asked me'?"

Luna, in her mysteriously all-knowing but delightfully happy way, giggled, "Maybe you won't have to, I'm sure rumors will get around about how many have asked and there will start being arguments about who is going when, who shouldn't be allowed to go, and how much time you will spend with each. They will probably all end with detentions anyway."

Harry groaned before burying his face into his palms, "I stopped the bad guys…" he muttered, earning confused looks which he addressed moments later, "the Lycans. I beat them and the one behind it all, the threats are gone. The rest of the year is supposed to be easy. Those are the rules, plain and simple. Bad things happen at first, but once they are dealt with the rest is nice and simple. Why does drama and conflict have to follow me around?"

The other witches offered him sympathetic smiles, with his sister going so far as to surround him in a group hug, but none could offer any further advice.

***HP:O ***

"If you need me to start handing out detentions I can do so. They shouldn't be bombarding you anyway."

Harry smiled and shook his head as he went over some more obscure spells with Riddle. It was nice of her to offer, at least giving him a way to deal with the 'dating' issue, but he still felt it shouldn't fall onto others entirely.

He needed to figure out things for himself as well. "How do you feel about it? All of the attention?"

There was a hint of curiosity in the woman's voice, something he hadn't quite expected, "Uhm, I don't really know to be honest. I wasn't exactly popular when I was this age before so suddenly having all these girls want to go out with me is… weird. I'm also trying to flip things around in my head if that makes sense? Like this would be as if a girl from my world was suddenly asked on dates by a bunch of guys."

Grace waited for a moment before speaking once more, "Not quite the same though, I'd imagine. You said the populations were roughly even and while there was inequality it wasn't quite as extreme?"

"Yeah, something like that, I mean I never really made it far enough in the magical world to know if being an adult was different but professors were male and female, women and men were Aurors and worked in the Ministry, stuff like that. Still, all the highest positions seemed to be primarily occupied by men."

This time the woman nodded, "Well, I wouldn't be a very good mentor if I didn't inform your parents as to the situation. They should know, despite this not being a life-or-death threat. If you'd like to write them a letter first though I can help you figure out the wording."

"That sounds like a good idea, thanks."

***HP:O ***

"How are you feeling?"

The woman smiled warmly at the boy's concern before answering, "Good, better than I've felt in a while since all the worries about the attacks are now gone. My injuries really weren't that bad even if it seemed like they were. Lycans heal quickly and even serious wounds are usually pretty minor for us, the problem comes when they hinder mobility or combat, like mine did." Here she took a breath and focused herself to appear as stern as possible. "About what happened, you shouldn't have come after me Harry."

He stared back before crossing his arms in defiance, "Listen, I know what you're going to say, I've heard it all before numerous times, but if you haven't figured it out yet let me clue you in. I'm not the type to just stand around when people are getting hurt and I can help. I tried that once and it was a mistake. I'd much rather be constantly grounded and yelled at then attend a funeral."

Lupin stared back before letting out a sigh, "I understand, but you shouldn't put yourself into harm's way for me. I'm not worth it Harry, my life isn't going anywhere, isn't important. You though? You're going to change the world I can already tell."

"Who are you to tell me what my life is worth." Harry snapped, earning a wide-eyed stare from the witch, "You don't get to make that call, you don't get to say 'just leave me to die and save yourself because I'm too fat headed to run in without backup and no plan other than hope for the best'."

Her own eyes narrowed seconds later, "Like you did? What would have happened if reinforcements hadn't arrived Harry? Have you thought about that!?"

"Of course I did! My plan was to go with the original idea, drop Greyback onto the ground with enough force that her ancestors flinched, grab you, and get the hell out."

"That's it? That was your plan? What if Greyback was stronger than you thought? What her accomplice was a talented duelist? What if…"

Harry Potter interrupted with a shout, "What if? What if, what if, what if!? I'm so sick of hearing those words! What if I have a heart attack and die tomorrow, what if a meteor hits Hogwarts and we all explode? What if I hadn't found you in time? I could spend a thousand years asking myself 'what if' and do you know what I would end up with? Wasted time, that's all. Stop worrying so damn much about all the 'what ifs' and start living."

***HP:O ***

"Hey Ginny, do you have a second?"

The girl paused, looking over to her blonde friend who merely smiled before continuing without them. "Y-yeah sure Harry."

He walked up running a hand through his messy hair before letting out a sigh, "I want to apologize for what I said earlier."

"Harry it's okay…"

"No, no it isn't. I've been stressed all year and I thought after all the bad stuff was over with it would be easier and now… but I shouldn't have taken it out on you, and I should have thought before making stupid comments like that. I have a habit of my mouth moving faster than my brain, much like Amy does." Ginny giggled a bit at the comment, causing him to noticeably relax, "So if you are still interested, I'd like to go out with you sometime. The weekend is currently a mess but maybe Monday?"

The youngest Weasley stared in shock for a moment, before quickly nodding not quite trusting herself to do anything other than squeak with embarrassment at the idea of a boy asking her out.

***HP:O ***

"A lot of girls have been asking you out," Harry had been expecting some sort of confrontation with the two boys, well with Ron at least not so much Neville, but rather than accusatory it was more sympathetic, "Do you want to like… hide out in the Gryffindor boy dorms for a few days? I'm sure McGonagall would understand, I heard she gave the twins detention for some of the stuff they said to you… sorry about that by the way, they shouldn't… it wasn't…"

But Harry was already waving off the apology, "It's not your fault Ron, really it isn't, and I'm not upset or anything it just took me off guard for someone to just walk up and suggest we go to a broom closet." The raven-haired boy laughed at the ridiculousness of the situation and while the other two boys shared an uncomfortable glance, they did their best to laugh along with him.

The pudgier boy, in particular, looked very uncomfortable, "I mean… I wouldn't want that many girls following me around like that…"

His statement had the boy-who-lived calming and really looking at the two. When he really did the concern in their features was obvious and he did his best to flip what he knew about the world around to what he understood.

If a young girl had been followed around and constantly asked out, borderline harassed, by a bunch of boys he would have been concerned for her as well. "I mean… I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings you know. And a lot of the girls aren't bad, I actually don't mind Tracey or Daphne and…"

He trailed off trying his best not to look at Ron but likely he already knew if the snort was any indication. "Right, all my sisters. You didn't have to ask Ginny you know. I wouldn't be upset if you just told her you were busy or whatever, she'll get over it."

Harry shrugged, "I don't mind honestly, I mean I don't think I would want to go out with either of your older sisters but Ginny is… nice. It's refreshing to hang out with someone who doesn't think they are the best thing ever."

Ron stared for a moment before shaking his head, "I guess…"

"Are you going to be upset if I go on a date with your younger sister?"

The redhead snorted, "Nah, although I don't know why you'd want to go on a date with her, she's kind of a little brat at times." His friend chuckled, earning a wide grin from the redhead, "It might even be good for her. I always thought the twins ended up as… well themselves because they never actually dated a boy so they don't understand how to talk to them."

His statement pushed an idea into Harry's mind. Maybe that was why so many girls were either obsessive or kind of prats. The population differences meant dating would be tough, especially for girls who just didn't have anyone to go out with.

It certainly did explain a lot of oddities in the magical world, and it might be worth mentioning to Hermione and Harriet if nothing else to see if those two could take the idea and run with it, maybe write a book in the future or something.

Certainly an interesting idea.

"But seriously Harry," Neville said, "if you just need to hide out somewhere or just get away from the girls for a while Ron and I will be happy to help."

The gesture was thoughtful, and he nodded in appreciation. Maybe it would be nice just to have some 'guy time' for a change.

***HP:O ***

"Wotcher Harry"

The boy grinned, "Hey Tonks, how's it going."

She smiled back, eyes darting between the boy and the Headmistress who sat next to him. "Good, busy but good, uh hello Headmistress."

"Nymphadora, how has the Auror department been treating you?"

Both the use of her first name, and the reminder of her job, earned slight winces from the young woman. The message was clear enough, Dumbledore was on Harry's side and intended for everyone to know it.

Amelia Bones sat next to the youngest witch and immediately cleared her throat to shift attention back to the topic at hand, "We will make this as quick as possible Mr. Potter, just a formality to tie up some loose ends. You mentioned Tonee Travers approached you at a party over your winter break, correct?"

"Yeah, although I heard her arguing with Dumbledore during school before that."

She noted before jotting down a few things, leaving Tonks to pick up the conversation. "What did she say to you? At the party I mean."

"Basically, that I should stay out of her business, threatened my friends and family, told me men were worthless, yadda yadda yadda."

All three witches frowned at the seeming nonchalance, "Did you tell anyone else about this?"

"Gra… professor Riddle first, then Dumbledore after we tried to figure out what to do."

Bones nodded, "And when you went after Remi Lupin? Did she say anything to you then?"

"Nothing about some grand master plan or anything like that, just the same meaningless garbage. Still, she likes to talk, a lot, which helped stall for time."

None of the adults looked particularly happy about the answer but what did they expect?

"Why did you go by yourself Harry? You could have waited for Dumbledore or Riddle, could have told your parents or contacted us, could have…"

But he wasn't exactly thrilled to be questioned about his actions, especially not from the authorities which arrested his mentor the previous year on little to no evidence and then proceeded to sit around and do nothing to help afterwards. "Could have gotten Remi Lupin killed, could have sparked major retaliation against innocent people. I could have done a lot of things, but what I couldn't do was sit around and wait for the adults to fret about and hope someone else solves the problem for me. I've learned my lesson."

The oldest two kept their composure in the face of the accusations and insults, Tonks did not, and her flinch of guilt was obvious even if a bit unwarranted. Still, Harry didn't have time to coddle them, if they wanted sympathy, they should have chosen a different career path.

"You… are quite right Mr. Potter, this entire school year has been one failure after another on the part of both the government and the Auror department. I am making strides to change the way we handle things but as your Headmistress will tell you, we are hindered by what the politicians decide is best."

He snorted, not bothering to hide the roll of his eyes, "How convenient then when one of them is guilty and can then get away with it."

No one looked happy, but the lack of response was telling enough for the young wizard.

***HP:O ***

"You look beautiful, Harry." The boy flushed under the compliment, still not used to receiving them, especially from girls. "I'm so glad you agreed to come with me to Hogsmeade, it was tough being stuck in Hogwarts for so long, especially when we were finally old enough to get permission to leave."

He nodded in agreement with the dark-skinned girl, "Yeah, and the one time I did come here with Delphini it was… weird. Hogsmeade was mostly empty and there was just a sort of tension in everyone."

Bliss smiled, whether it was in sympathy or something else though, Harry wasn't quite sure. Perhaps just knowing his date with the older witch hadn't gone well had put the younger girl in a better mood. It was hard to say, he didn't exactly have dating knowledge even before he was thrown through time and to a world where everything was flipped around.

"So, tell me about your classes."

"Uh well just the basic ones so far, plus culture and spell theory."

The girl leaned forward a bit over their table, "Oh? Spell theory isn't a simple course, I've heard about it from other Slytherins."

It wasn't, but he didn't think it compared so some of the more difficult classes, "I mean, I guess so. It can be a bit dry at times, but I think it will be worth it in the long run. What are your electives?"

"Runes and Art. Mother always said I need to be more than just a pretty face to attract the boys." Harry smiled and laughed, not quite sure if she was being serious or not. He did recall the girl being rather proud of her looks, like many Slytherins were. "I would absolutely love to paint you. Although I do scenery in class my true passion is for people."

Harry blinked, idly considering the idea before shrugging, "I mean… sure, I guess? Do I have to sit still for a long time?"

"Not too long, I am rather talented in class, and this will likely be my end-of-the-year project. A combination of landscape and portrait."

Even if it was a way to brag, at least she had used it as a roundabout compliment. "Just let me know ahead of time so I can clear some time."

***HP:O ***

Harry Potter was running out of excuses. It wasn't as if he wanted to hurt anyone's feelings, he really didn't, but he had classes and a life, he couldn't fill every waking moment of every day with a date. Thus, he had made a mental list of sorts as a way of gently letting others know that no he couldn't go on a date an hour from when they asked because he actually needed some time to do homework.

Plus, he was beginning to look into buying an organizer just for writing such things down and keeping track of them. It sounded ridiculous, and something a certain stuck up male Malfoy would do, but he was starting to run out of options and keeping track of so many things was leading to more stress than it should.

Speaking of which, he could already see the intent in the Gryffindor's eyes as they hurried up towards him and gave a mental groan as he went through his list of options. He didn't know the girl and wasn't exactly a fan of all the strangers pushing into his personal life. Luckily, before she could ask anything his two sisters stepped between them.

"Harry, Amy and I are going to Hogsmeade later today, do you want to come with us?"

It had been a long time since it was just the three of them, the summer really, and while he did care for his other friends it would be nice to just have some sibling time. "Yeah, I'd love to."

The redhead turned slightly, making a 'shooing' motion towards the older student who sulked away, before grinning back at her brother. "Meet you in the Great Hall at four?"

"Sounds good."

***HP:O ***

"We haven't had sibling time in too long."

Harry nodded in agreement. There was usually someone else with them, friends or parents, or just someone. He needed this, they needed this. "So, what did you change your electives to?"

The redhead flushed with embarrassment, "I wasn't allowed to keep art, but I didn't really enjoy it anyway so its fine. Mom agreed I was allowed to stay in Care for Magical Creatures for the remainder of the year and then have another talk this summer about why I want to take it. I'm taking Astronomy as well, just for the rest of the year. I guess McGonagall is going to stop by during the summer to go over careers and what classes would help."

Harriet smiled and gave her sister a nudge on the arm, "It'll help, you don't want to take boring classes for four more years."

For some odd reason, though neither girl quite understood why, their brother snorted almost immediately, a grin slowly growing on his face, "Definitely avoid Divination, trust me on that one."

Amy pouted earning a chuckle from her sister as well before food was brought to them. Even as they began to eat a comfortable silence, other conversations falling into the background, surrounded them.

When they had nearly finished Harry paused in his meal to look between the two, "Can I ask you something? Both of you I mean." Said girls exchanged a look before quickly nodded in agreement, and prompting him to continue. "What was your lives like before Hogwarts? I never… I didn't have a James and Lily there for me so I just…" he had to pause to choke down the words 'wanted to know what it's like having parents' and instead refocused, "I've been curious is all."

"Mom was usually the strict one" Amy quickly answered, perhaps sensing his unease. "Dad was... fun, usually. Sometimes he would take us flying around the yard on a broom just to get us used to it. I think he wanted to have more people to play Quidditch with."

Harry laughed, feeling a bit lighter at the images now in his mind.

"Dad was always more physical I think," Harriet continued, "picking us up, giving us piggyback rides, things like that. Mom would read to us at night though, she tried to almost every night. I always loved trying to stay awake the entire time but Amy would be asleep in a minute."

The redhead stuck her tongue out in retaliation, earning a snort from her sister, "Yeah well she never read anything fun."

"She read us books you would pick out."

Not sure if it was leading to an argument or not, Harry interrupted, "What about other families? Did you like hang out with the Weasley's before Hogwarts or anything like that?"

Amaryllis shrugged, "Uh not really, we spent a lot of time with Uncle Sirius and them of course so we were... close to Marie? I don't know, sometimes she feels like a really good friend and others she's just..."

Her sister chimed in, "Distant, a lot of times she feels more like her mom, which isn't a bad thing it just doesn't exactly fit well with younger cousins I think. We met the Weasley's before but with Ron being the only one our age, and his parents being very protective of him, we just didn't really spend a lot of time with them."

From there the conversation settled into something like old friends catching up. He learned about the family dinners, the funny stories about their parents, the vacations they went on and holidays throughout the year.

More and more he felt a connection to them and the world he now lived in.

***HP:O ***

Harry stared down at the fancy green envelope sitting on his books, one with a silver snake etched into a seal on the back along with his name in silver lettering on the front. A quick glance around gave no indication as to who might have been able to sneak it onto his belongings.

With no small amount of reluctance, he opened the object and took out the small card inside. It was an invitation, one that came without a name but was most certainly implying someone had meant it for him.

An invitation to a Slytherin party… at Hogwarts itself.
