Clawdeen Pov:
"Being here at Monster High feels so surreal with having people like me roam around, each one more unique than the last as well as having ideas on what they want to do with their afterlives. My dream so far is to design clothes, I developed that idea when I was just a cub when my dad showed me several shows of runway models presenting incredible clothing. When I learned about my monster side as well as the world my mom lived in, the sky was the limit with what I could come up with for them and the Kaiju. While I'm eager to learn more about the school and my new friends since this was the first time there were others interested in me as I am to them, I shouldn't waste any chance to work on new sketches for dresses I hope one day to make."
Morning-Creepateria
At the lunch room of Monster High were numerous students that were getting their meals that matched everyone's tastes. Near one of the tables was Clawdeen who was right now working on one of the sketches that she had been designing since her arrival at the school. It was designed for Junior since Draculaura suggested that a king should have a signature look, and more importantly how she wanted to see if she could craft clothing that would let Junior open himself more to everyone around him.
"Hey Clawdeen!"
A voice shouted her name which startled the wolf girl and made her afraid that she would have ruined the sketch. Luckily Clawdeen didn't leave her to sigh since most of the time whenever she worked on a design all of her focus would go to the paper while blocking out everything. Which included her friends who were right now walking over towards her with their plates of food that caught Clawdeen's attention since they looked rather special.
"What's that exactly?"
Pointing out to Frankie's plate which seemed to be a normal hamburger, though her nose was picking up a different kind of scent meaning that it wasn't. The reanimated ghoul smiled since, with Clawdeen busy with her work, she didn't have time to check out what was the lunch menu for the day.
"Sloppy Joes. Made from toes from a guy named Joe, supposedly they have toenails in them. But that's just a gimmick for the lunch staff to sell them."
Frankie explained to her what was on their plate, however they heard a large chomping from the side as it was Junior who had eaten his sandwich before even sitting down. Both he and Frankie along with Draculaura sat down by Clawdeen's side enjoying their lunches, but not before the vampire princess took a glimpse into her sketch pad.
"Trying to sketch some clothing? I'll make it easy for you. I mostly do natural hot pink with vampiric sides while for my sleeves, a few holes but diamond shape."
Explained her sense of style which Clawdeen chuckled since it was a good tip if she would design a gown for her, however, the werewolf artist showed her friends her sketch. It was Junior's look which was similar to the musicians that he listened to, mostly it was based on a few rock albums with that of metal mixed with his usual appearance as it had sleeves torn off to show his scales and the back of his shirt open letting the rest be shown up to his neck.
"This look almost reminds me of Rob Zombie. Except without the scruffy hair and ready to plague the humans, and maybe invoke fear into Kaiju?"
Junior asks Clawdeen about the sudden change in look since Draculaura was offered to help get him a proper look. Though they got interrupted by their misadventure in finding the human potion that turns Clawdeen human, the look on her face chuckled at the mention of him looking 'frightening'.
"Not fear, style. Everyone here has an aspect when they come into class as well as what they say when teachers see them. I know you've been trying to show off to the others and especially Caesar."
Responding to him how while he made sure to look like any other monster or Kaiju, the rest of the school had their styles which showed the presence of everyone making sure they knew who they were. While also bringing up Junior's considered rival 'Caesar' who had a mummy for a friend that could make him appear as royalty just like her. Gesturing his eyes brows at Clawdeen's comment about showing off made him not care since he had nothing to prove to the Shisa. Though it seemed like the lizard made his point there was muttering coming from the entrance as the four students turned over to check out what was happening.
"Maybe it is a good idea to try being fashionable."
Frankie offered their opinion as they along half of the creepateria noticed by the entrance Cleo wearing new clothing which displayed gold bandage wrapping around her arms and legs while wearing a blue skirt with several Egyptian symbols on it. By her side was Caesar who had on a short sleeve jacket that allowed his fur to cover the top of the shoulder pads and him wearing jeans with claw marks on the side. While also noticed on the back of his jacket a symbol in Japanese that caught the attention of the students who were able to see his back.
"Gādian. The Japanese term for guardian, For the past few weeks Caesar has blamed himself for not fighting Komos and getting stopped by your Kaiju fury technique. He's been taking out his anger in the woods."
Offering their friends some gossip on how Caesar was affected by the fighting which caused the lion dog Kaiju to strain himself to get stronger. The two walked towards a lunch table where Ghoulia and Armor were sitting at where they were eating several shaped meals. Watching the four talk, Draculaura took a look at Clawdeen's designs seeing that they would make him stand out.
"Nice. Reminds me of Vlad the lmpaler, a human that my dad was friends with. Had a fallout but shared a lot of ideals of intimidating clothing, might be possible to offer some suggestions."
The vampire offered help as Clawdeen showed a puzzled expression of both gratitude and fear since it was the first Draculaura would offer her expertise in royal clothing designs. However, it coming from an actual dangerous human would be something she didn't exactly imagine, to the two would see what ideas they could come up with. Hearing the school bell ringing alerting everyone to head to their next classes, the ghouls decided to make their way. Meanwhile for Caesar, Junior could see how the Shisa was upset and ate his food in an aggressive manner which Cleo barely noticed due to her speaking with Ghoulia about her schedule.
"Hey Frankie? Tell the two I'll be with them soon, I want to check up on something."
Informing them about how he wanted to speak with Caesar about what happened during the struggle since how Junior could view it. The Shisa was both a proud and honorable Kaiju that would have shown his skills to Komos but was robbed of showing off his fighting skills due to Junior's power being used against him. Taking his time and carefully walking towards the table, the others noticed the king as he got different expressions from the mummy and zombie ghouls along with the two Kaiju's.
"Hey buddy! Nice seeing you awake, unlike class when you passed out."
Armor spoke out since he and Junior grew a small friendship since they met, it was the least he do after tricking Armor into letting him and the others mess around in the graveyard. Looking over to Caesar to see if he would lean a compliment or something to say, the Shisa kept silent focusing on his meal.
"Don't mind kitty, he's been moody lately and has been begging Mistress Bloodgood for a Kaiju match to help get himself out of this mood."
Cleo responded to Junior who was confused by the 'Kaiju Match' which had him think about a fight meaning that the principal denied the lion a chance to let out his anger. Ghoulia groans to Junior explaining in her manner what Cleo meant by that, however, the lizard still didn't understand zombie language so he turned to Armor hoping he could translate what she said.
"When Kaiju's started to come to Monster High, most of them had a lot of pent up emotions and need to lash out. So whenever a Kaiju wants to let out steam they request a match with another that desires the same, however with what happened to Komos. She's stopped any requests until things are back to normal, or abnormal since the school isn't all average."
The spiked ball boy explains that monsters would have their aspects in handling themselves and having several places for them to let their inner monsters out. Kaiju's had the same thing but now was on hold for the time being. Caesar merely blew air from his nose about the statement about the headless woman not allowing him to make up for not fighting Komos.
"Well, he possibly does something else that involves noncombative activities. How about Casketball? If your seeking to let out some aggression that's a good sport. Both Heath and Rhodey play that sport and would love to see how you'd fair against them."
The lizard offering a different type of way to let out his energy since he knew from experience fighting only make his desire grow and want to fight even more. The lion merely growled at how he suggested that since his father had a streak of wins against a vastness of opponents in the past. Cleo took a minute to think about the idea since it involved a sport that she wouldn't dare participate in, though had a small factor within the sport.
"If that's the case then bring Clawdeen and the others, I wish to ask them something at the gymnasium."
Requesting to let Caesar have a chance to let out some aggression in the sport Junior looked at the Shisa if he was alright with her helping out. The lion said nothing but accepted it since while he may not be able to use his fists, he could use his natural skills to challenge Heath and Rhodey. The lizard decided to head out to join his friends in their classes, while the Shisa looked at the mummy girl confused by the gesture.
"You've never exactly offered a hand in aiding me. I've always supported you in making sure no one tries to make any moves to you, why now?"
Questioning that during his time being a friend to Cleo since they first met due to them being considered royalty in a sense of his family being well known protectors while her rich. The mummy girl merely smirked at how he wasn't thinking about what they could offer her and whatever Cleo was planning.
"Let's just say that after being saved from getting crushed by a gargoyle and the school being saved by a half human and werewolf. I've been thinking about changing a few things, especially with my fear squad."
Explaining how the school getting back to its usual self and Cleo focuses on being popular, which involved her fear of leading the squad. One of the best activities that she's been involved in along help model normal students into acrobatic all stars. Though lately most of her team have been transferred to a different school or decided to change sports.
"Wait. Does that mean I could get a spot? I've been practicing on some moves."
Armor asked as he stood up from the table trying to do a move, however, ended up rolling into his ball form which cracked the floor. The trio didn't want to answer him since he was considerably good at rolling, not leaping in the air. Though Caesar merely cared that if he could let out his frustration that would similar to Komos's strength, which left Junior to be the only candidate to fit that spot.
Later-Gymnasium
During the next few hours, Junior managed to convince the ghouls to come with him to the gym since he wanted to try and help out Caesar with getting some frustration out. Looking around they took a moment to observe the large room where it was designed for both monsters and Kaiju can fly while also the terrain to not get hurt they fall to the ground.
"So tell me again what's the difference between Basketball and Casketball?"
Clawdeen asked Franke since so far while the school seemed similar to human schools, some certain classes and activities were different. While Junior was taking a minute to look at several parts of the gym which seemed like a good place for Kaiju to fight. Frankie was happy enough to explain to Clawdeen the difference between the two sports.
"While basketball resides in the normal human ethics of fair play and getting points. Casketball is more physical, such as allowing to use abilities and that the hoops resemble caskets."
Making it simple to explain as the werewolf could tell from the claw marks on the walls and how the caskets had markings which showed it's been used for a long time. Draculaura however wanted to speak with Junior since he didn't seem to keep up to date with how Caesar is whenever the Shisa was serious since the lizard was still new to the school.
"Now I can tell your not a rookie when it comes to dealing with Kaiju squabbles, Caesar is different on the account that he was trained both by his father and Cleo's father in being the perfect guardian for her family. Plus that he still isn't partially a fan of you, respect yes. Still wants to knock your fangs out."
The vampire warned him about that while Caesar had grown to respect Junior to the fault of him being a king and battling Komos. He still believed he could handle Junior, the reptile merely scuffed off how some things didn't seem to go away. Before responding about how the Shisa could lighten up, a fast projectile came flying right toward his face. Taking the chance he grabbed it which was a casket ball, looking at the entrance was Caesar who was wearing a uniform for the sport.
"Wow. That's quite the look."
Clawdeen noticed what the lion was wearing which was grey and blue with his name and number on the front which was seven. By his side was Armor who had a similar get up like Caesar but his spikes were tearing threw the shirt as he waved at them whereby the two boys side was Cleo and Ghoulia.
"Indeed, but I'm curious if anyone is up for a match?"
Cleo offers Junior a match with her guardian since he was the one that offered the opportunity to help Caesar let out some pent up aggression. While possibly offering a bit of a challenge with Armor helping, except it seems not fair since it was two on one.
"Might I offer a hand in the match if it's two against one?"
Frankie spoke out seeing how they wanted to try out the sport since Junior might need the help. Caesar looked at the reanimated ghoul and allowed it since it would be good to see what Frankie was capable of since he heard about them blinding Komos during the encounter. Nodding to their request Frankie smiled as they rushed over to Junior excited to play casket hall with him as the lizard only got concerned for Frankie's safety since Caesar wouldn't hold back.
"So if they're going play ball why bring us along?"
Draculaura questioned Cleo's motive as the mummy could tell she was figuring it out Ghoulia groans at them that they would need to step back since the ghoul and three Kaiju would have their casket ball match. Junior threw the ball up in the air they stared at who would catch it first, quickly enough Frankie caught it as they rushed over to the left side of the casket as the others gave chase.
"Again why did you want to see us?"
Clawdeen asked Cleo how she couldn't respond to the vampire's question since the others wanted to play their game. Taking the time Cleo decided to speak with the wolf girl about why she wanted Junior to get the ghouls to come here.
"It's about my fearleading team. Right now the uniforms need an update along that, since I was a bit 'rude' to you when you and Frankie introduced yourselves to me. I'd like to offer you all a position on my team."
Explaining that the uniforms that Caesar and Armor were wearing need a new look while also inviting them to join the team. While Clawdeen looked both humbled and surprised at how Cleo wanted her to both join her team as well help update the uniforms.
"Really? Me? I mean it's not often I could help out with a team but don't I have to get Bloodgood's permission to do something like this?"
Asking Cleo about how the fearleading would have to go threw Bloodgood first before doing something like this. Though the conversation got interrupted by Junior who was acting as defense for Frankie who managed to sneak the ball past them. Seeing Armor coming up to them Frankie was able to do a slide which left the spiked Kaiju to fall on his back leaving Frankie the chance to throw the ball into the casket.
"Help please?"
He asked who seemed unable to get back up due to his spikes being sink into the ground. Frankie offered a hand in helping him up while on the side Junior and Caesar went on to have their type of 'match'. The lion and lizard were at a stalemate in their hands as the two tried to overpower one another. Trying to make one of them down, they snarled at each other as Junior could see anger coming from Caesar's arms.
"I get it. You are upset about being punk by our former teacher but know this. They're going to be others that might want my crown, and you'll get a chance to show that inner strength to them. The question is do you want to be one of them?"
Junior asks how Caesar would be the numerous Kaiju that would want to fight him to be king. The lion merely growled at the response as well decided to deliver a swing of his right fist at him. Junior did the same with his left fist which had them collide making a cracking sound. The others watched how the impact made them both flinch shaking their hands due to its hurt.
"What I am is Cleo's guardian. And will be ready to fight whoever threatens her, or the school. Your majesty."
Responding to him and looking at Cleo since she considered the school her palace considering her being popular. So he wanted to make sure she could continue to enjoy it along with her friends. Junior knew the feeling as well and looked at the others who could see how the match was done and they managed to make Cleo a new friend of theirs.
"Are we going to have a rematch?"
Frankie asked since they and Armor desired an actual casket ball game since Caesar seemed more relaxed and would to play a safe game. While with Clawdeen who looked at Cleo with the offer of helping make new uniforms and a chance to be a part of a team nodded excitedly since it was the first time she was ever invited into anything.
"If she's going be involved then I should at least help out with the design."
Draculaura offered her hand since she didn't want her friend to handle this by herself with designing the uniforms and letting Cleo have her on the fearleading team. With things settled and the topic at hand accomplished, both monster and Kaiju teens decided to relax at the gym since they were still teenagers at school. So it was important to enjoy the little things before the semester gets packed with assignments and other types of antics that Monster High would throw at them.
