Draculaura Pov:
"Most monsters and Kaiju believe being the daughter of Dracula has its perks, being renowned and feared by the toughest and menacing from the monster world. Being around for a long time as well meeting royalties, plus having quite the sense of fashion due to the many families my dad had met in the past. However, he always pressured me to go beyond normal vampire standards and to that of his, which is impossible since he's been around longer than me. Yet now I'm not trying to impress him, I'm focused on impressing myself and how my magic can get stronger like Pandora's. All I need is a place that can be well hidden and also to myself without anyone knowing about it."
Monster High-Dorm Rooms
Within the hallway was silence and numerous students rushing out either to spend time with their friends or catch up with classes. Except for the princess of vampires Draculaura, who was right now looking at her book of magic studying new spells since she had time on her hands while also reading about Pandora's history. It was said that the witch was just like any other innocent monster, trying to make a life for herself and others around them. However, humans made it impossible since their fear had overcome them over the fact that certain creatures could devour them in a single bite.
"They were lucky that Kaiju didn't roam the earth and should have just ignored her and the others."
The vampire muttered to herself how if it didn't turn out so violently then Pandora and the rest of her coven would have been safe in the human world. Except if she did then she wouldn't have fully understood her powers and opened a portal that would lead her to then making Monster High. As the vampire continued to read both books she decided the try out a new spell since reading from Pandora's history inspired her to practice, such as learning a new spell for transforming small items.
"Let's try something small."
Thinking out loud as she had spent time working on potions which was a safe way to use magic, though now it was time to advance to a higher level. Grabbing a pencil near the side of her coffin and placing it in front of her, Dracula read the inscription within the pages to get the base of how to use the spell. Shaking her hands at the sight since it required gestures as the vampire took a deep breath before proceeding.
"Shifting shadows, heart of storm. Obey my spell, now transform?"
Saying the spell while sounding unsure which lead to nothing, looking at her hands Draculaura got annoyed since it wasn't working. Deciding to stretch her legs and get serious, she decided to try the spell again but with an assertive attitude.
"Shifting shadows, heart of storm. Obey my spell now transform!"
Announcing in a demanding tone as she felt her hands shaking slowly as her palms slowly emitted a dark pink light. It surprised Draculaura how it was coming right from her, however, the orb of light soon fell like a ball and right onto the pencil. Becoming nothing but smoke she waved it away seeing how the pencil became a sentient being with wings and looked rather frightening as it soon screeched at her.
"Oh bats."
Stating to the living creature as it soon flew right at her leaving Draculaura to duck from the living object, it was going across the room writing on the walls and books that were around her. The vampire girl tried to grab it but it was too fast and continued to avoid her grasp, leaving the pencil to notice the door leading outside.
"Don't you even think about it?"
Getting agitated at the pencil as it tried to make a run for it until she saw the door opening. Draculaura was worried since the object might hurt whoever was coming in due to the pencil flying head first right out of the door, except at the moment the door was fully open the pencil was caught by a right hand. Curious to see who caught her living pencil it was Junior who didn't seem to look so happy about returning to the room while followed by Clawdeen and Frankie.
"Just what I need. Flying pencils."
Junior sounded upset as he quickly snapped the object in half which changed the pencil back to its regular form. Checking out the broken pencil the reptile Kaiju placed the tool near the table as he walked over to his bed and laid down face first in an upsetting manner. Frankie got curious about the pencil as they went to examine what happened when Junior broke the writing tool.
"Did you learn a new spell about making things fly?"
Looking over to Draculaura believing that she had found a new spell to practice on which lead to the pencil, however, the look on her face was a mixture of a yes and an upsetting look due to how it didn't work so well. Meanwhile, her attention changed to how her spell practice would be put on pause due to what looked like a dramatic moment.
"What's wrong with him? Another Kaiju fight?"
Suggesting that how the Kaiju would challenge Junior for the right to fight in the past happened all the time. Here at Monster High, it had decreased due to the school keeping an eye out for more dangers and importantly Bloodgood keeping an eye out for anything unusual. Clawdeen shook her head as it was class related it was tough to explain to Draculaura.
"More of a class issue since Mrs. O'Shriek is about to fail him over the art assignment, we've been able to get ours done but Junior is having trouble with figuring out his own."
Explaining about while she and Frankie were able to pass their assignments due to their knowing how to express themselves. It seem Junior had trouble since the lizard didn't know how to exactly express himself. Hearing the conversation and Watzie trying to get affection from the lizard, he merely groans since he would have to tell his side of the story since Draculaura had finished hers since she knew herself well enough to share for the class.
"I can do it. But it's not exactly easy since I'm in front of monsters and Kaiju's I know and are fine with what I do, so it's a challenge that I can't solve with a fist."
The reptile explaining about that in the past when he was alone doing shows on stage he didn't care about their opinions and just played. Though now it was different since the strangers around the school had become his friends who welcomed him in with open arms. Growling at the feeling he got interrupted by Watzie licking his face making the reptile sigh at how the Franken dog didn't find him frightening.
"Maybe you just need some inspiration to figure out how you want to perform. Maybe your albums can help."
Clawdeen suggests Junior since some of the stories that he shared with the ghouls about doing guitar shows growing up were based on human songs that helped him be the Kaiju of today. While it was a good suggestion Junior didn't think it work since most of the performances involved songs based on fighting and intimidation, the reptile seemed not so interested as he allowed Frankie's dog to continue to lick Junior's face trying to cheer him up as the Kaiju allowed the dog to have his moment.
"Maybe what he needs isn't a song but a place to express himself. Most musicians had stages where they could show themselves in an environment they're comfortable with."
Frankie comes up with a solution that could help out Junior's situation since it seemed unfair for him to fail one assignment that could allow him to show his true side. The Kaiju took a moment to think about their suggestion since Frankie was right, each of the human musicians and singers had a stage to show their true sides to the audience. Nodding to the suggestion he stood up as the lizard took a second to figure out an idea on what Frankie had suggested.
"I know who I am, it's just everyone else who doesn't know it. That's the issue."
Puzzled at the idea of how he could do his assignment in a manner that made others see him while also passing the class at the same time. Growling to himself out of stress he notices Draculaura's books where she had a history book which was in Pandora's chapter.
"Don't even think about it."
Draculaura responds that Junior might have an idea of how he could do his assignment which could include Draculaura helping him out. The lizard merely rolled his eyes at how it had seemed the vampire was thinking about him suggesting she use magic to help him do good on the assignment.
"I'm not cheating. I just need inspiration that's all, which is important since you all have quite the background."
Responding to her and the other ghouls since he wasn't exactly up to date with the latest trend in clothing and family. He was considered the last generation and needed a good way to help with inspiration, Clawdeen looked at the frustration on his face he took a moment as Junior tried to figure out what he can do. The wolf girl walked over and held his hands stopping the lizard from losing his composure and using his fire breath to torch the room.
"Maybe you should ask for help and figure out what exactly you wish to do. Besides Mrs. O'Shriek didn't say we couldn't help one another."
Reminding him how they helped Frankie with their assignment in figuring out an artist side which he had almost forgotten, looking at the others he averted his eyes away feeling embarrassed. Taking a moment of silence Frankie was able to think of a way to help their friend in this position.
"Or we could show our teacher his creative side."
Offering an idea about how Junior can get a passing grade for the assignment as the others didn't know what they meant by that. While Frankie's eyes looked at Draculaura knowing a way she could help, the vampire was still confused about what she could offer to Junior's dilemma.
Later-Clawdatorium
Heading to the auditorium where most of the art students of the school would perform for Monster High, right now on stage was Rhodey who was helping out clean the ceiling since no one could reach it without a harness or rope. Meanwhile on the ground was Heath Burns who was bored since he didn't expect to be dragged here.
"I don't know why you dragged me here from the field Rhodey, we gotta get ready for the upcoming games."
The fire imp reminded his Kaiju Pteranodon that the two were the best in Monster High's sports activities and needed to keep up with practice. Meanwhile, for Rhodey who had finished tying up the sandbags and checking out the structure, it was a favor he had to respond to.
"Maybe because while we're quite the monsters of the school, we also need to do other stuff? Cause the principal reminded us that we have to keep up with our classes if we want to keep playing. And I know one of us wants to get the ghoul's attention."
Both reminded and teased Heath that while he didn't want to be here as well, they had to keep up with their other curriculum activities so they could keep playing. The fire imp merely sighs since he knew that was true as he decided to check out the stage, so far it seemed both sturdy and spacious enough to make a performance. Continuing to walk he made the wood let out a creaking sound which sounded humorous, continuing to do so he didn't notice Rhodey coming down to check it out.
"Let me try."
Curious about his friend's antic as the two began to mess with the wood making more creaking sounds on stage. Laughing at them messing with the stage they didn't notice a shadow coming from behind them as it casts right over both Heath and Rhodey, their smiles fell as they felt an intimidating presence from behind them.
"What's funny."
The voice spoke out behind them as they turned around looking at none other than Junior which left the two to sigh since they weren't exactly used to having an actual king in the school. Along with that, he had a history of fights that he won before coming to Monster High, they were still a bit frightened with Junior not making a sound when he came up from behind.
"Jeez man. With a guy that packs a punch your light as a feather, did someone fly you here?"
Rhodey questioned how the Kaiju was able to come up from behind which made Junior snake towards the Kaiju making Rhodey nervous as the encounter got interrupted by the ghouls who happened to follow after him. Both boys didn't know why the four game were here in the stage room since it wasn't open or had any classes going on.
"Hey guys. I hear that Tusk is admitting himself to Casket ball and testing out the team, there in the gym right now."
Clawdeen informs them about the yeti Kaiju possibly joining the team and 'training' with the others which could lead to everyone getting a cold shoulder. Not thinking for a second the two rushed out of the auditorium to see if it was true, meanwhile for the others they now had the stage to themselves and Junior observing his surroundings.
"Ok. Big stage and me doing a small performance, I can manage. But I think O'Shriek will need something more 'frightening' I think?"
The lizard asked the others since he planned on showing his artistic side which involved playing his guitar, however, the stage was confusing since he didn't know what to do. Frankie being by the side walked towards Draculaura knowing what she could do.
"Of course. And Draculaura who used that spell to turn that pencil into a sentient insect can modify the stage for a performance we can do."
Explaining how what was needed next was Draculaura who could use her magic to modify several objects against the stage into something special. However, Draculaura didn't know if she could do it since the spell could end up turning the stage into a sentient creature or possibly turn to dust. Everyone could see the expression on her face not knowing if she could do it, while Junior merely breathed in knowing this type of look since he had it during his shows.
"If it doesn't work I'm still glad you'd offer to help out. All of you, I mean we could just use the production here to make my assignment work."
Offering his opinion on this grand idea that Frankie had come up with leaving Draculaura now determined to try her spell. This time for someone who needed help than just herself. Calming her senses and gesturing the others to move back, the two ghouls and Kaiju moved away not knowing what their vampire friend had in mind for the stage.
"Shifting shadows, heart of storm. Obey my spell, now transform."
Announcing her spell without worry or focus but of feeling, almost not thinking, and allowing her magic to travel throughout the stage. Her friends watched how the pink orb began to change half of the stage and its props into different forms. It took several seconds before the average stage turned into a rather frightful look that fit Junior's idea about his project.
"Oh, this is defiantly going to work out."
Clawdeen spoke as she and the others were unable to think of what to say about how this was a sight to see. More or less Draculaura felt confident about what she had accomplished since it was the perfect test of using her magic for people. Especially her friends, however, there was much more to do if she was going to help get Junior a passing grade.
Several Hours Later
Having convinced the Headmistress to invite the art class to the auditorium for Junior's revealing of his assignment, both monsters and Kaiju's tried to find their seats for what Junior had planned. The crowd was both curious and anxious to see what was going to happen, except for Toralei since she didn't seem interested in what the lizard had to present.
"Knowing him it's bound to be one of those 'shows' he did. I saw one where he got consumed by a blob, did anyone invite a blob to the performance?"
The werecat teased about how the Kaiju wouldn't do so well leaving the others to ignore her. The rest of the class was questioning what the king was doing while at the front row seats were both Bloodgood and Mrs. O'Shriek anxious to see what was about to be shown.
"I haven't been this excited since I visited Paris where I got to meet the Phantom of the Opera. Though got ruined by humans cause he took up most of their spotlight."
Explaining to the headless woman how she enjoyed a good performance by monsters, so seeing one done by a Kaiju and nonetheless, the king would be quite the sight. Bloodgood nodded since it was a strange suggestion from him and the others as it seemed to be a rather big reveal. The curtains were covered with no one was able to see them, however, the lights began to dim and instruments began to play by several skeletons. Starting with a low beat it caused the curtains to open up showing what looked like a laboratory on the stage. Walking out was Clawdeen wearing a lab coat that was purple with several claw marks showing off her werewolf style with matching goggles.
"For Junior's assignment, he wishes to express himself by recreating himself."
Starting off the assignment most of the class was confused by the introduction while Mrs. O'Shriek was fascinated since it seem to be unique from the others. The band soon changed to a more upbeat tone as they soon see Junior coming out not knowing how to start his assignment.
"Where are all the boys at with emotional stability? Nice car, a CEO, and almost just as smart as me. Where are all the boys at with financial security? A doctor, a model, a monster of possibilities."
Clawdeen started to sing which caught everyone's attention as she said those questions right to Junior's question on what kind of Kaiju he is. Before he could respond he noticed a pair of hands holding his shoulders which was Frankie and Draculaura wearing their own custom made lab coats.
"They say. Expectations are too high and you'll never find a Kaiju like that it's driving you mad. Does it?"
Both sang at the same time as they guided Junior to a chair which caught the Kaiju off guard. Placing him there he had the three ghouls giving him questionable looks thinking about how he could improve his look to the rest of the school.
"They say, That it's just a waste of time. Get your head out of the sky. But why?"
All of them sang as the skeleton band soon played their instruments louder with a beat as the performance continued. The ghouls walked over near the side of the stage showing off their ideal versions of what the king of Kaiju would be, most of them showed sophistication and maturity.
"Oh I, wish I could synthesize. A picture perfect guy. Oh I, oh I. Six feet tall and super strong. We'd always get along. Alright, alright."
Telling Junior as the reptile crossed his arms at the comment as he decided to head off the stage. However, Clawdeen came from the side guiding him back to the chair where she showed a blueprint of how the three were about to give him a new look.
"Ooh, he'd pick me up at eight. And not a minute late, Cause I don't like to wait no! Kind and ain't afraid to cry, or treat his mama right. That's right, that's what I like!"
Continuing the song as the audience enjoyed the music while the principal and teacher were fascinated with the performance. Helping to stand Junior up they guided him to Draculaura where she was in charge of him acting both determined and bold.
"I need a Kaiju who don't get jealous 'less I want him to. A gentleman to take care of me in the afterlife."
Singing her part describing he needed to embrace himself as king as this led Junior to growl at her. Smirking at how she was getting to him she presents him with a mirror that showed a reflection of himself. It caught him off guard as well Draculaura sneaking from behind as he didn't see her reflection.
"Frightening strength and a powerful roar. Am I asking too much?"
Asking him as this distracted him long enough to be guided to Frankie's side of the stage which had him view several pieces of body parts that could help Junior with a new look.
"They say. Expectations are too high and you'll never find a guy like that it's driving you mad. Does it?"
Looking at Junior with a puzzled look as they helped him up as Frankie guided him to what looked like two handmade generators. Confused by this part Frankie walked over to where a lever was set as they gave him a thumbs up.
"They say, That it's just a waste of time. Get your head out of the sky. But why?"
Asking the audience before activating the lever delivering a powerful jolt of electricity to Junior. The electricity was harmless to Junior as it made him glow for the crowd to cheer at how he was admitting a mixture of dark blue and green.
"Oh I, wish I could synthesize. A picture perfect guy. Oh I, oh I. Six feet tall and super strong. We'd always get along. Alright, alright."
The ghouls sang again and circled the electrifying lizard as he felt rather charged. Letting out a roar he was able to stop the generators from electrocuting him, however, he soon felt dizzy since it took a lot out of him.
"Ooh, he'd pick me up at eight. And not a minute late, Cause I don't like to wait no. Kind and ain't afraid to cry Or treat his mama right. That's right, that's what I like!"
Continuing their singing as they noticed Junior losing his balance. It was Clawdeen's turn as she dragged him to her part where it was a chamber in which she locked him in. Filling it with smoke left everyone worried not knowing what they were doing to Junior. Coming in front of the chamber door was Draculaura with a sly look seeing how the next part would be unpredictable.
"I've been looking high and low. For a Kaiju who's just right, And would treat us mighty fine, so come on then. Show them what you got."
Taunting Junior from within as she opens the door showing the king of Kaiju to the audience. Everyone either gasped at the sight of how in the next several seconds Junior had changed his look. Including a dark blue jacket with a shirt that had a meteor showing a radiant glow and pants with grey streaks around the legs. He had his guitar behind his back and pulled it out as he started to play several chords that had everyone cheering for the performance.
"Oh I, wish I could synthesize. A picture perfect guy. Oh I, oh I. Six feet tall and super strong. We'd always get along. Alright, alright."
He and the others singing in unison as the atmosphere was perfect for them to show their talent to their class. The four continued their dance as well enjoying themselves while at the seats was the teacher who had seemed convinced this was a group effort in helping the Kaiju king.
"Ooh, he'd pick me up at eight. And not a minute late, Cause I don't like to wait no. Kind and ain't afraid to cry Or treat his mama right. That's right, that's what I like!"
Finishing the song and posing for the finish leaving Junior to unleash a roar to end it as everyone was in silence by the performance. This soon was answered by applause from the principal who was impressed by the performance along with the rest of the class. Mrs. O'Shriek showed a smile to Junior as she held up her clipboard showing a passing great which left the lizard to chuckle at the sign of him passing the assignment. Draculaura smiled at how she was able to help him and felt good in secret since her magic helped out with the performance, meaning there would be several moments during her time at the school to use her magic to help her friends and anyone else in this kind of matter. The only issue was her being careful since not everyone knew she was a witch, which would leave her to keep this secret from everyone who might not share her interest in witchcraft.
"The song used for this chapter was 'Guy' by Super fruit. All rights to the song belong to the creators behind it, more will come soon. See you soon."
