Lagoona Pov:

"Ever since the whole 'My teacher tried to destroy the school' incident happened and seeing Junior unleash his inner Kaiju out. Monster High has gotten rather lively, meaning that anything can happen since it was a bit dull when the school started. Right now there's a swimming competition coming up and I'm preparing since I heard that Junior was entering the race. He got convinced by Titan to participate since in the history books told about how Gojira slept in the ocean for a whole year without being disturbed by any aquatic life. So it's going be quite the fright, but I am curious to see how he'll fair with the other aquatic swimmers here at the school."

Monster High-Swimming Pool

The day went by like any other with its students minding their own business, while in the swimming pool of the school was Lagoona who was preparing for her swim. While most of the time the pool would be used to help certain monsters and Kaiju calm themselves over a stressful day, right now it was being used to practice racing for today's contest.

"Be with the water. Be with the water."

Lagoona told herself that this race had her different due to Junior entering the race. While she treats him as a friend like any other with a fierce attitude and friendly personality, however when it came to racing in the water she became focused. Setting herself up at the edge and staring straight forward, Lagoona threw herself right into the water and swimmer forward like a shark. Moving her legs in a perfect form and going straight, she was right in her element and focused on moving back and forth seeing how fast she could reach the end and then back.

"I need to be faster."

Thinking to herself in the water as she felt like this race was important to her since if she could outrace Junior then anything would be possible. Moving back and forth across the pool making waves, at the edge of the water was Titan who was relaxing in the water. Eating a coconut and watching his friend practicing her swimming, he drifted in bliss enjoying the show.

"Lagoona? When are we going to head out? I like how devoted you are to winning the race but maybe you need to relax first."

Titan suggested since he came along for both support and to participate in the race, however, it seemed he wasn't interested in swimming, unlike his aquatic friend. Lagoona still swimming back and forth like a shark, didn't stop as she seemed focused on proving herself she could win the race.

"Oh boy, she's gone great white."

Sighing at how when would get focused on swimming or a competition like this she'd lose herself and act like a predator. While it was defiantly fascinating to see everyone intimidated by her, Titan still thought it was good to enjoy the motion of the ocean. Taking his chance Titan used his finned tail to interrupt Lagoona's swimming practice which made her stop her narrowed movement, rising out of the water the aquatic ghoul merely growled at her Kaiju friend ruining her movement.

"I was about to finish Titan, you didn't need to stop me."

Lagoona responded to her friend's sudden action in ruining her last lap across the water as she soon made her way out of the water to dry herself. Titan used his tail to paddle himself to the edge where he got out as well.

"Well, it was either that or remind you that you are one of the school's top swimmers. Second is to Finnegan and then third to me since I can mop the floor with anyone. I just go with the flow."

Reminding her that she shouldn't take the race too seriously and to enjoy the swimming since she's shown both monster and Kaiju ocean students that she was dangerous when it came to water sports. Though the look on her face said otherwise when she heard about Junior entering the race, continuing to dry herself Titan continued to give her an expression about her needing to talk about this issue.

"This flow is different. I mean haven't your parents told you about the stories of Gojira? How he slept in the water for a whole year? That when he swims he'd make waves that destroy a beach?"

She asked him how most sea monsters heard the legends of Gojira being a rather talented swimmer and having the same amount of power that he showed when he was on the surface. Titan took a moment to think about what Lagoona said as well as how it was true, most Kaiju's who were around Gojira avoided the water since he would devourer anything in his path.

"I didn't hear those. But I did hear how for some Kaiju when they battled him, he would intimidate them with a glow. His whole back would blink multiple times and his eyes stare at them, almost as if he was looking into their souls."

Titan remembers stories of when he was growing up when his parents saw the king of Kaiju as they were much more intimidating since he could have ended him. Lagoona merely gave him a questionable look on her face proving her point which made the red finned Kaiju quiet due to the look she was sharing with Titan.

"That's the point, for a while my parents always believed I can be a great swimmer. I've been practicing ever since I was a guppy, and now I have a chance to do it."

Feeling like this was a chance for her to see if she could beat the son of Gojira in a swimming contest. Titan saw the determination in his friend's eyes seeing how she wanted to prove herself in this contest. The Kaiju sighed at how while he would be considered 'lazy' some of the times, what he wasn't was supportive of Lagoona and would encourage her to continue practicing.

"Alright. But it doesn't hurt to take it easy, and enjoy a good meal right?"

Offering her some advice since if she was determined to win her competition with Junior then she'd have to at least get some good food. The aquatic ghoul smiled at him for suggesting the idea as they decided to head out to get some food to eat. Though the pleasant moment was sadly interrupted by a sudden snapping sound from the sound as it was recognizable to the duo.

"Ebirah."

Calling out the name as the two looked over to the wall where they saw a crustacean Kaiju. He had crimson red scales around his body with a sleeveless vest, he had one antenna and one that was broken, chuckling in a sly matter as it seem he wasn't a friendly Kaiju.

"Come on. We all come from the water, that doesn't make us enemies now doesn't it?"

Asking them with a grin across his face as the two knew about his reputation as being a sneaky lobster that always tried to get the best of everything that Monster High offered. They weren't exactly fond of him since he got into trouble and would claw his way out any way he can.

"No. It just makes us want to keep a steady fin away from you with the record of times you've been in trouble."

Lagoona called out on Ebirah's gesture of being 'nice' to them since she knew how most of the Kaiju called him a 'terror of the deep' since he always scared people if they were by a body of large water. Chuckling at the comment he tried to still be a 'friend' to them but only got a glare since they didn't want to get involved with any ideas he was coming up with.

"Well, this time is different because you'll be looking at the new king of Kaiju! The crustacean king to be in fact since I'll be needing your help after all."

Claiming how he would challenge Junior to a fight for the right to be considered king. That's how most Kaiju deals would be handled which only lead to Titan laughing at the response since it wasn't a good idea to fight Junior after proving himself possibly the strongest at Monster High. The lobster merely muttered in silence about how he was being laughed at since in his current state he wasn't that much of a fighter.

"Maybe instead of acting like a pincher you should try out for something else, I mean a lobster like you could do anything. Being king is rather, old."

Titan offers his opinion that instead of risking his life to fight Junior for a chance to be king, he should focus on other things if he wanted to be known. Just as the conversation had seem to be over, a sudden squeaking sound came right from behind them. While Titan was confused by where the sound had come from, Lagoona felt as if a spike pierced her heart of how familiar the sound was to her.

"I guess I got your attention then friends."

Ebirah asked them seeing how it got her attention Lagoona's peaceful look on her face to a territorial look as her teeth paired were directed towards him as in his claw was a squeaky piranha plush toy. Titan didn't understand why the toy was important to her, though he could tell Ebirah was getting underneath her fins.

"Now I have a plan that'll involve breaking Junior down if you help me. No harm will come to Senõr Squeaky."

Snickering about that the plush toy was important to Lagoona leaving her unable to try and take it since his pinchers could rip apart the fish in an instant. Titan was slowly getting upset by this threat and was going fight him but was stopped by Lagoona since this was serious since the toy was precious to her. The finned Kaiju sighs at the situation they were in due to how vital she seemed fond of the toy fish, meaning they would have to listen to what Ebirah had planned for Junior.

Later in the dorm rooms

With classes finishing up and everyone preparing to watch the swimming contest since it was going to involve Junior which was a major sight to see. In the dorm rooms was Junior who was looking at a custom made swimming gear that Clawdeen had designed for him. Most of the students had either their swimming clothing or school issued swimsuits, though the ghouls wanted to help make Junior stand out.

"I did studies on Gojira's swimming and it's similar to an alligator when it's moving its tail from left to right. Except when he did it his tail would cause waves, so you might want to be careful when your swimming."

Frankie instructs Junior about how he should watch for his tail since he'd be swimming with others by his side and would avoid the strength of his tail. Rolling his eyes at their comment about how his tail could be considered a weapon, he merely expressed his tail as any other body part by wagging it to Frankie which made them laugh at the sight. Draculaura on the side was curious about Junior's sudden idea to participate in this swimming contest since she thought he wouldn't be fascinated by sports.

"Or better yet while watching your tail from swatting everyone away, explain why the sudden interest in racing everyone at the pool. It's not like you to get competitive and try to prove yourself in the water."

Questioning the lizard about when the swimming contest was announced last week, he didn't seem fascinated with the contest. Hearing her curiosity about his choice about joining he decided to show her and the others than explain it with words. Walking over to the bathroom that had a bathtub he soon turns on the water, the others took a moment to see what exactly he was trying to explain as he managed to fill the tub up. Placing his arm in the water and feeling calm, they saw his scales starting to glow which made the others move back thinking that he might use his fire breath.

"Somehow the water calms my mind, it started when I was little when I took baths. The race is a way to help me learn to master my fire breathing."

Explaining how whenever his scales would glow whenever he got emotional either by excitement or anger. Though with the water he was able to control his state of power, if he could try and master it along around individuals then it might help out understand how he could control it in dangerous situations.

"But it's a competition and they'll be a lot of monsters and Kaiju's screaming. Won't it ruin your concentration?"

Clawdeen asks him how she had trouble learning to change back and forth from werewolf to human. However, she didn't have an ability that could destroy everything in her path, the look on Junior's face realized the wolf girl's words and how this could be an issue.

"I've been around stages when I tried to make money to survive, I'm used to screaming. Luckily, with how I'll be in the water muffling the sounds. It shouldn't be that much of a problem."

Offering some words about how he would remain focused once he's in the water. Having confirmed about nothing bad would happen they heard the door knocking as Frankie walked over to see who was visiting them. To their surprise, it was Lagoona and Titan showing friendly smiles toward them and wishing to come in.

"Just stopped by and wanted to offer you some luck, and to offer you a beverage that we made for the occasion."

Lagoona told Junior in a means of good sportsmanship as the Kaiju looked at the aquatic creatures curious about what they were offering. Titan brought out from his bag a water container that had a rather unique liquid within it. His nose got the scent of fruit with a mixture of spice within it. Smiling at the offering and curious if the two had any more they shook their heads at the question.

"How'd you make it?"

Draculaura asked Titan about what he used to make the beverage as it seemed both he and Lagoona were involved in making the drink. Titan merely took a moment to think about the ingredients as he listened to them from several fruits and minerals from the water.

"Luckily, the school has some of the stuff for the drink, Monster High does offer everything."

Titan smiled about how easy it was to make the drink for Junior, to which the Kaiju nodded still thankful for the beverage. Yet just as Junior was about to take a drink from the container, Draculaura stopped him right before he could drink it which had the others confused about her motive.

"Indeed. Especially when one of them is Valerian root, which properly mixed with any liquids can knock someone into a deep sleep. Right, Frankie?"

The vampire asked the reanimated roommate about the effects of the root and they nodded and looked concerned at the two since they were trying to put Junior in a deep sleep. The lizard looked at both of the aquatic creatures to see if that was the truth as he handed it back to them. They had nervous looks on their faces about this deception along with the other ghouls were confused about this action as well.

"It was my idea for the drink, not Lagoona's. If anyone has to drink it then it should be me."

Offering himself to be the one in the sleep as Titan took the container from Junior and drank it in one gulp. Everyone was surprised by the act as he soon enough passes out in an instant, Junior caught him quickly before he dropped onto the ground. Looking at Lagoona, the sea ghoul merely had a sad look on her face about why they tried to mess with the king.

"Someone is, trying to make us ruin the competition for you. He has something important to me that I got from my parents and will destroy it if I didn't do this. Titan was going take the blame for this to try and protect me."

Explaining what the plan was and how they were being used by the Kaiju behind this attempt to be the king. The four saw how Lagoona's face told the truth and how they would need to help out with whoever was using her. Taking a moment to think how they could help Lagoona, Clawdeen managed to figure out what they could do and make sure no one would attempt this stunt again.

Several Hours Later

Half of the school had gathered at the pool where both monsters and Kaiju were eager to see the race and talented swimmers going head to head with one another. Setting themselves right at the edge of the water, everyone was at the benches waiting for the match to start. On the side were Clawdeen and the others who were looking at the swimmer's belongings. Sniffing out for Ebirah's bag she was able to locate it near the end of the others, it had spikes and other types of means of not letting anyone touch it and a combination lock.

"Can I try? My right hand fingers have a skill for unlocking stuff."

Frankie offered their assistance as they took a moment to look at the lock for a second. Studying the object they avoided the spikes as well begun to work on the dial, meanwhile Junior stood by Lagoona who saw how worried she was about this.

"Monsters and Ghouls! I hope you are ready for the semester's first water race."

Headmistress Bloodgood announced as she stood by the side getting the student's attention as they applauded for the swimmers ready to start the race. The swimmers were positioned at the edge ready to dive into the water, Bloodgood looked at her horse as the mare let out a neigh with fire shooting out from her nose which started off the race. Leaping right into the water the swimmers began to rush threw the pool rushing to get right towards the other side. Each one of them had their unique swimming movements trying to get ahead of one other, while Junior started to slow down.

"Here we go."

Thinking to himself as the king soon slowly descends into the pool and ceases his swimming. Traveling to the bottom of the pool where it was much larger, the lizard slowly sunk deeper into the water as his eyes slowly drifted into a deep slumber. Hitting the ground and not moving, there was a sudden chuckling near a shadowy corner where it was Ebirah who smiled at how the sleeping beverage was working.

"Yes! It worked! Just like I predicted for someone who's got the stomach of a king, the bigger the beverage the longer the effect."

Telling himself underwater as he assumed how much was needed to have Junior pass out during the race. Making sure to not get noticed from above and seeing how the contest was still happening, all he needed to do was deliver several hits on him and wear him out so that when he woke up. Ebirah could take him on with an advantage on his size, getting his pinchers ready to chomp on Junior. The lizard's hands soon grabbed both of Ebirah's claws which scared the crustacean suddenly Junior's eyes opened wide and glowed as they stared at the attacker.

"Surprise!"

Shouting to him along with having his scales glowing at the same time frightened Ebirah as Junior quickly rushed the lobster and began to 'explain' to the scheming lobster what happens when he uses his friends against them. Meanwhile at the surface with the race finishing the swimmer who won the race was Finnegan Wake as several of the students were congratulating him. On the side was Lagoona who was nervous about where her friends were as they made their way past the other students as they made it to her, soon enough Draculaura handed her back her stuffed piranha.

"Senõr Squeaky!"

Acting like a guppie as she held the stuffed toy tightly feeling embarrassed about how she was showing her soft side. Luckily the three ghouls made sure the other students didn't notice them, too and they could see this seemed like a personal moment for her.

"Next time if someone is messing with you, tell us. Even the fiercest of us need a friend."

Clawdeen offered advice to her as the aquatic ghoul looked over to the bleachers where Titan was still sleeping since the beverage was made to last for several hours. She was grateful for him and the others would didn't tease her for having the plush toy, especially Junior who insisted on 'talking' to Ebirah in using others to get to him. Looking over at the pool the four ghouls and headmistress Bloodgood noticed bubbles going on within the water and an ominous glow growing from beneath as they soon see Ebirah flying out and landing on the floor. Coming out of the pool was Junior who breathed in and out due to how much air he kept in during his time in the water.

"What is the meaning of this? Junior? I need an explanation."

The headmistress requested from the boy about what was going on in the water to which he noticed the others expressing different looks on their faces about how he could explain it. The headless woman turned her head clockwise as she saw the ghouls whistling to the side not trying to act suspicious, turning back to Junior he figured out a 'response' for her.

"My new friend Ebirah here was curious about how he could get noticed without getting into any type of trouble. Isn't, that, right?"

He said to the principal and looking towards the crustacean with a glare threw his eyes as the last few minutes in the water made Ebirah see how it was wrong to mess with monsters and Kaiju. Especially if they were close to Junior, quickly nodding to him and to Bloodgood on how he was telling the truth. The headmistress decided to make her leave to check out on Finnegan who was smiling at his victory, meanwhile for Ebirah. He noticed Lagoona who looked upset with the lobster as she bared her teeth at him.

"No one messes with Senõr Squeaky."

Telling him straight before letting out a roar at him which caused Ebriah to freak out before falling into the pool again. This caused them to laugh together at how Ebirah wasn't the one scaring her but the other way around, they decided to head out and grab the sleeping Kaiju Titan so they could enjoy the rest of the evening without anything else trying to ruin it for them.
