Narrator pow:
"Wha-!"
"Wake up lazybones!" Vilem shouted, lifting Hagakure with blue magic off of her bed and placing her down on the floor.
"Oww..." Invisible girl groaned, too sleepy to be angry. "Why so soon?..."
"It's eight A.M., Toru. Vilem even did a warm-up round around the district." Momo responded while Ojiro handed her the Hero outfit. "Now please, get dressed and eat something before we go on a patrol."
"Ough, fineee." Hagakure groaned, standing up and taking the clothes. "Thanks Ojiro. Now please everyone, leave. I don't want to be doing it in front of everyone."
"Sure thing." Ojiro nodded as the trio walked out of her room. "See you in a quarter." He added, closing the doors behind himself.
"Hey kid, look at the bright side!" Flowey encouraged her, peeking from a nearest corner of the room. "It's about time you got some action."
"That's right! I can't be demotivated so easily." Toru responded with an upbeat tone, making a frying pan out of nowhere and creating herself some fried eggs. "Also, you need to leave now."
"Sure, not like I could even see you..."
"Hey! It's not like that!"
"Remember, anything can happen at any time." Vilem instructed, as he, Milan and three interns were taking a casual stroll across the shopping mall. "Vigilant eyes and quick reaction can save a lot of people."
"Don't mistake the Vigilant with vigilantism tho." Nut Hero added, correcting the mixed brown collar of his shirt. "Law doesn't exist just to be broken."
"Mhm." Ojiro nodded. "I don't understand why do you wear semi-casual clothes while on work, like Vilem."
"In our Hero culture, practicality is superior to camera flash." Half-Slovak responded. "Hero suit must be first and foremost fit for the Hero and the way he views himself at work. If I had media appeal as a principle, I would never dare to change Momo's outfit. Now would I?"
"Makes sense, in a way..." Toru nodded, before a strong shaking disturbed their peace.
"Earthquake situation!" Vilem shouted, using his blue magic to have few people pulled away from falling shop signs. "Team, evacuate this place!"
"Right!" Momo responded as the other four ran to the sides after civilians. "Everyone! Go throu the evacuation exits!" She shouted throu quickly created megaphone.
"You heard her!" Ojiro added, knocking aside a chunk of concrete from the collapsing roof with his tail. "Go!"
"We take them!" Milan added, as he and Hagakure picked up whoever couldn't escape himself and run to the nearest exit.
"The roof!" Vilem shouted again with sudden realisation, creating several thick bones to act as additional pillars.
"Below you!" Momo exclaimed, catching him with a lasso on the run and pulling him in time from collapsing floor.
"Thanks!" Vilem smiled back, yanking her and few other people back with the blue magic before they reached the main entreance doors. "But I feel like something is off."
"What do you mean by that?" Milan asked him, pulling a small dog away from the building with some nuts.
"This." Half-Slovak responded as the central part of the floor crumbled from downward pressure as a giant drill rised from the floor. "That's no earthquake, but a villain attack." He added, freeing himself from the lasso as a wheeled machine rised onto the surface.
"Ojiro is still inside!" Hagakure added, pointing at the tailboy intern hiding behind one of the large bones.
"The World of concrete will FALL!" A mid-pitched voice came into their ears as the upper hatch of drill machine opened and a bulky, human-sized man in a miner's outfit walked out of it, singular stripes of black hair coming from undeneath his helmet. "And the stone masons will gain back what was taken from them!"
"Oh great, a delusional one." Milan sighed as the villain took out two pickaxes. "Anyone still inside?"
"Only Ojiro, all civilians are out and safe." Momo added, noticing a movement of gloves towards the building. "Hagakure! What are you doing?"
"I just wanna talk to him." Invisible girl responded, taking a frying pan out of nowhere before slowly walking back to the shopping mall.
"Why do you have a pan?"
"I just wanna talk to him."
"Toru, this is ridiculous!"
"I just wanna talk to him."
"Wait for the others!"
"I just wanna talk to him."
"Let her try." Vilem ordered shortly. "In worst case, we can go back and help her."
"... Ehh, fine." Momo shrugged her arms, returning back to him and Milan. "Just don't make me regret it."
"Never will." Vilem responded as he looked back towards patiently walking Toru and still hiding Ojiro. "I can teleport, y'know?"
"Fucking hell, that is a lot of cash." Miner villain said to himself, grabbing stacks of banknotes and coins into several sport bags as he went from one store to the other.
"Not good, he's armed." Ojiro thought, briefly peeking from behind a bone to observe him. "If he keeps on like this, he'll eventually get me. Better if I wait and run outside to the others when he's busy with another cash register..." He thought, putting up a plan as he suddenly spotted Hagakure walking towards the villain.
"Toru, run." He whispered.
"No, thanks." She responded, earning a notice of a villain.
"Bold of you to give away the position so easily!" The villain said to her, drawing out both pickaxes while Ojiro run away.
"Toru, run! We can't fight him!" Ojiro shouted, waving his hand for her to join.
"I'm not here to fight." She responded.
"Huh?/He?"
"I'm here to talk." She added, looking back at the suprised villain. "Can I?"
"Didn't hear these words in a looong time." Villain smiled, smiling briefly. "Not since my wife left me and took the kids." He added, his face turning back to the sour, hard glare.
"... May I ask why?"
"She just viewed me as 'archaic' and 'bad example for kids'. That's what." He responded, dropping the money bags to the sides. "Money is just needed to not starve to death on a street. My main goal is to give stone masons the respect they deserve."
"... That's... Not what I expected." Ojiro commented with bland stare, blinking rapidly as if he saw a ghost.
"Villains are still humans. Who could have thought?" Hagakure said in return, making both of them even more weirded out.
"I appricieate your kindness." Miner villain said, taking off some water front undeneath his eyes. "But still, I am just a villain for most. I get arrested, stand trial, go to jail and end up on the street. Just as all so called 'evildoers' do."
"Attacking people and buildings is still a crime." Ojiro responded first. "Attacking a building, concrete or stone-made, is still attacking a building. Same goes for destroying them."
"I know, but what else can I do?" Villain asked back. "Protest and go unnotices because all media care about is another villain attack? Or make something big and get my messeage throu their filters?"
"... Why not becoming a Hero?" Toru asked him.
"What?!" Both him and Ojiro shouted in suprise.
"I mean, Heroes are also on the mainstream. And in a good light." Hagakure smiled, making a winky face. "Why not at least try to be a good person?"
"Erm, eee... How should I respond..." Villain muttered, baffled by the response before starting to pace in a circle. "But I can't do it alone, no, no, no..."
"I'll vouch for you." Hagakure responded. "Whenever needed, right for you."
"Really? Thank you!" Villain laughed, dropping his pickaxes. "Call me Kopecky. You can also take my drill."
"And I am Hagakure, Invisible Girl when in work." She smiled back, turning to Ojiro. "See? Kindness works wonders."
"Alright, but..." Tailman blushed slightly, doubtful about the whole ordeal. "Why can I see your face?"
"... WHA-!"
"So... This happened." Rudnick said with hesitance as his team was back in the agency, telling the tale. "Nice debut by the way."
"Thank you." Momo responded. "We had a lot of them from civilians thanks to quick evacuation."
"Speaking of our team, where is Vilem?" Ojiro asked.
"Back on route." Milan responded. "He treats himself very harshly for easier life of others... As usual for him."
"Such is a life of idealist..." Rudnick said, but his voice fainted as somewhere close enough, behind the door, another conversation was taking place.
"Flowey, what happened to me?" Toru asked in a shaking tone, looking at the screen of her phone which relfected the image of her short, green, messy hair and bright blue eyes over the cream-like skin on her face.
"That's the kindness soul running it's course." Golden flower responded calmly. "You were so kind that it overpowered your Quirk, and judging by the hair even the hair colour. Not like I knew how it looked like prior to that tho."
"Still, it has me worried." She responded, rising her head and looking at the sentient man-flower. "I mean, most of the time I don't have anything on myself because of the Quirk. But now, I have to live with realisation that I can become fully nude at any moment."
"... I got an idea." Flowey smiled, rising his vines up. "Say, kiddo. If your soul Quirk allows you to make frying pans and fried eggs, then maybe it can give you a Hero outfit?"
"... It can do such a thing?"
"We can try. All your current one has are gloves and lace-up shoes." Flowey commented. "Adding anything on top isn't going to be much of an issue. But listen up..."
"Eat steel!" A thug shouted, running forward with a short sword.
"Nah, ketchup's better." Vilem smiled, sidestepping his attack before pushing him into the wall with a small bones sent from the side.
"Sweet work, Sans!" One of bystanders congratulated, before the criminal hit the brick wall, birds and stars twirling and spinning above his head.
"All in a day's work." Vilem smiled back, looking aside as police officers disarmed and apprehended the sword wielder. "Now then, off I go helping the others." He added, creating a small gaster blaster, jumping on it and flying away into the air above the city.
"Now then, let's piece the facts together." He thought, looking around as he gave himself the liberty of slow and low flight. "Toru casually walked into an endangered building to talk with... Stoner. What a weird nickname." He corrected himself, finding a big screen, where the news feed presented the caprure and live interview with the stone mason in a full miner suit. "But whatever, what matters is that Toru just walked in, talked him over, threw some comments about kindness and then..." He paused, stopping above one of the housing flats.
Kindness.
Kindness.
Kindness.
"Fuck. No." Vilem said to himself, turning his blaster around and flying quickly back to his agency. "Hagakure is in a LOT of trouble, if I know my luck. And since I do know my luck, she IS." He added, as he caught a small paper note aimlessly moving back and forth in the air before reading it. "And this... This doesn't help."
"What do you think?" Flowey asked, as he and Toru were discussing the latter's new main clothing. "Does it suit you?"
"Well, it definitely has it's charm." Hagakure responded, making two slow spins in what looked like a short summer dress. "I like the fact that it changes colours." She added, as she noticed it turn from green to translucent. "Perfect fit-!"
"DREEMUR." Vilem said with a dreadful tone, storming into the training room and closing the doors shit behind himself.
"Oh, Vilem!" Golden flower responded with a suprised face. "Why so angry?"
"You know what I talk about." Sans responded, walking forward as his eyes turned hollow and then black. "I can forsee your bullshit from a Mount Ebott away."
"The Kindness soul?" Flowey asked him. "What about it?"
"... This." Vilem added, making a small, red heart appear in front of himself.
"D-determination soul?" Flower gasped, moving back while Toru shaked out of fear and impression given by Vilem's serious mood.
"What you two did with Kindness soul endangeres stability of this entire world." Half-Slovak continued, breathing heavly. "Right now, there will be two souls in UA. Do you see what I mean?"
"Not like we knew of you taking the determination." Flowey responded.
"Hmmm?" Vilem hummed in confusion, his eyes turning back to normal brown.
"If you told me, I would just leave it somewhere else, somewhere safe."
"So you admit to having the Kindness soul earlier, without even telling me?" Vilem asked, to which the flower gasped. "Funny" He added, igniting his left eye with brown flame.
"I-I-I can explain!"
"And yet you didn't do it earlier?" Vilem asked him, hsi flame almost reaching outside of his eye socket. "You really want to have a bad time now. Don't ya'?"
"It's doesn't allow you to be rude."
"Hah?" Both of them turned, looking back at Hagakure.
"Listen. I know you are scared of power." She began speaking, having sweat go all over her nervous face. "You told it to me multiple times by now. But guess what you told me, Ojiro and Momo too. Your fear of power is nothing compared to your fear of your own power."
"And you want me to lower one fear by strenghtening another one?" Vilem asked her.
"No! I want you to trust us." She retored quickly. "You told me about those things. What harm did it do to you?"
"You use it against me to prove I am wrong about refusing to let carefree teemager have a great power." Vilem responded. "That's what I get for trusting you."
"... That's just rude." Flowey commented after a while of silence.
"I can't afford to be kind." Vilem shrugges him arms. "So, Toru. Give. It. Back."
"No!" A hollow voice sounded as the green heart appear in front of Hagakure's chest.
"Oh, a soul that stands in defense of his owner." Vilem said, as his red soul also came back to view. "As if you could overpower my determination."
"Chara said the same thing to you when you fought her." Green soul responded, making Vilem shiver as if he had a heart attack.
"Vilem?" Flowey asked. "You good bro?"
"... I am not." Half-Slovak responded, looking back at Toru. "Fine kid, have it your way. In worst case I'll just kill you and take what I need to help in fixing the mess." He added, turning around and walking away towards the doors. "I need to cool down while on the job. Until I return, Rudnick and others decide on what you, Momo and Ojiro do. Tell others and see ya." He added before flicking his fingers and teleporting away from the room.
"... Looks like he won't change his mind easily." Flowey commented.
" I know." Hagakure responded. "I think I should tell Momo and Ojiro what's going on."
"Not like I have a better idea. Go for it."
"Dust, he went in open." Horror reported, observing the streets of Bratislava from high above. "Should I come forth with a bait?"
"Angered beyond reason opponents are. predictible. I think you can handle him now." Skeleton in a hoodie and tramps responded, looking up at the orange-coloured sky with orange-shaped and coloured Sun hanged within it like some sort of God-orange. "The hours even went into the evening. You know what to do." He added before jumping back into a irregular, angular portal that closed behind him with some black glitches spewing here and there.
"Hehehehehehhh... You got it, Boss." Horror chuckled in a creepy way, drawing out his trusty axe as he looked down at Vilem throwing another two common thugs straight into a police van. "I guess it's time for one hot head..." He paused, creating a house-sized gaster blaster above his head. "To come right up!"
"Oh my, that's horrible!" Momo gasped, as she and Ojiro just finished listening to Hagakure'a story as the trio plus Flowey stood around the prior'a bedroom, discussing the recent event.
"I mean, I get that he wants all power to be used within reason." Agency's bodyguard commented. "But throwing himself into everything just damages his relation with you. Now it's Toru, later you two."
"But still, we have to stay here wait for Milan and Rudnick to do something first." Ojiro responded.
"Right. Going after him without order would be vigilantism." Momo added.
"But still, Vilem needs our help." Toru said with nervous face. "We can't just assume he knows what he does with all of the context that we now know of."
"Well, he won't be crossing the line with any bigger villain for now..." Flowey said, slowing down to a halt as he looked back into his phone. "Nevermind, he does it right now."
"What?!" All three interns shouted in shock.
"Just look at this." Flower responded, showing them live relation from Vilem engaged in a gaster blaster chase with a creepy, dernaged skeleton amidst general spam of bones and white vaporizing beams. "The dude has similar powers to him."
"That's it, we have to go and help him." Toru concluded, but was forcefully stopped by Momo's grip on the shoulder.
"We can't just go there! What about Rudnick and Milan?"
"I can talk to them." Flowey responded, turning to Ojiro. "You can stay too for credibility."
"What? But we can't!" Momo opposed, now put on the defense.
"I allow it tho." Flowey threw in.
"We have to nothenless." Toru said. "He needs our help. Not as a boss, but as a friend. Our friend."
"... Fine, I'll go." Momo sighed after a short while. "Ojiro, Flowey. Cover for us. Me and Toru will go."
"Sure thing." Golden flower responded, looking up at the Tailman. "Let's go and put up a facade."
"S-sure... Good luck girls." Ojiro nodded with an akward face, before he and the flower walked out of the room.
"Now, how do we got to join them?" Toru asked, turning towards Momo.
"I have an idea." Taller of the two responded, beginning to create some sort of a cannon. "Hope that you have snacks lying around."
"Potato chips count?" Hagakure asked again, rising her hand with a regular bag of Lays's.
"That'll do." Momo nodded. "And if it doesn't..." She added as her creation began to take the intended shape. "We're in a big trouble..."
