Armor Pov:

"Summer is finally here! It's the best time for the realm when the season comes since there's tons of activities and events happening. Mostly important a special occasion coming which me and Ghoulia have been waiting for, Nekrocon twenty-three! The comic book convention where the best writers and artists show off their works to everyone. Plus it being the perfect environment for fans to show they're true side and be amongst fellow comic book enthusiasts. Each of us has been working small time jobs at Monster High in the hopes of getting the tickets, especially the costumes we've spent months working on. This summer is looking to be the best ever!"

Outside of Monster High

Behind the school and at the nearby food stands where Ghoulia was on her laptop looking up reserved tickets for Nekrocon. Armor was pacing himself back and forth about if there was a way to get them, while the zombie was calm about the tickets. The spikey Kaiju was nervous since it was big event for someone like him since he's never went to a large convention that hundreds of creatures that liked comics and them having more knowledge about his hobby.

"I mean I'm not worried about getting the tickets since we have enough money for two. But the convention is a whole other story, I've heard stories about monsters and Kaiju taking this seriously, especially with cosplaying."

Muttering about the anxiety that was building up on what might happen if they attend the convention. Moving about to keep his senses and himself controls Ghoulia continued to look for any tickets that were available for them. Moaning at her friend to relax, Armor obliged by sitting by the side and decided to have his evening meal.

"Your right. There's still time for us to get the tickets, and maybe the costume contest for that issue you've been missing. Dead fast issue zero, the rarest of all the series. I'm hoping to finish my collection of rock plushies."

Pointing out what the two would be after with her going after a rare comic book and himself a collectible that was exclusive to the convention. Ghoulia moans in delight at their own likes and believed they'd be able to get them, however just as she managed to locate the ticket section. They were all sold out in the past five minutes, the zombie looked speechless at the sight as well Armor who took a second to look at the no available tickets.

"Oh, no more tickets. Well maybe we can try to purchase your comic and my plushie? Sometimes in conventions they'll offer it up to the highest bidder."

Suggesting an idea on them getting their collectibles on several websites that are involved with the convention. Hearing the advice made Ghoulia smiled as she quickly typed in several pages for them to see if it was true, unfortunately they were either unavailable or reserved only for the convention. The two students looked in dread about this shocking news and how they lost the opportunity to attend the convention. Having a moment of silence, Armor heard a small snort from behind him as he didn't seem to be in the mood in talking.

"Sorry but whatever you might want to ask us, it's not a good time."

Responding to whoever might be behind him as Armor turned around and saw Junior who glared at him directly with his eyes which made Armor move away due to how intimidating he could get. Ghoulia turned around noticing the Kaiju king who was with Clawdeen and the others who noticed from the side the two looking upset.

"Let me guess, Cleo is having you handle half of her remaining homework for the summer? She always has her work done under the last minute."

Draculaura asking Ghoulia about what might be wrong since she knew how the zombie would help out Cleo with her work. Moaning towards the vampire, Ghoulia shows them the convention website being sold out of tickets and none being available. Clawdeen took a look at the images and panels that would be show there as it looked excited and curious at the event.

"A monster and Kaiju convention that make comics? With how humans made tons of monster movies I thought they'd do something that revolve around humans."

Offering her opinion on how this was portrayed since in the human realm they did conventions for masked humans and would revolve monsters as the villains. Frankie laughed at her friend's statement as it seemed they already knew about this activity before Clawdeen would as they typed several keys on the laptop showing past images of zombies discovering human comic books.

"It was actually, but that was after zombies were able to gain the ability to read and decide to write their own comics. This inspired other monsters to make their own and so on, the one monster superhero that is above them all is Dead fast."

Explaining the origin about comic books being introduced into the monster world and one of its well known characters. Ghoulia moaned excitedly at the mention of his name as she pulled out from her bag one of his comics. Sharing it with them, Junior took a look at the zombie superhero as he apparently was the opposite on how most zombies were. Fast, intelligent and above all else a zombie that could protect everyone without ever stopping for a second.

"Although I couldn't be seen wearing spandex due to my tail getting in the way, I can't lie that he's cool. But still there is a way for you two head into the convention, right?"

Junior offering his opinion about the two going to the comic book convention and finding out if there was any other option for them to go. Ghoulia only groans at the alternative solution for the two to get into Nekrocon was to enter a cosplay contest. Though it had to be a group effort since there were several vacant spots opened for early entrees, leaving each of the ghouls to read what topic would be involved for the contest.

"Several of them revolve historical variants of characters, steampunk and of course futuristic. But not a lot of fictional teams, especially one that's accurate to Ghoulia's favorite hero."

Draculaura reading the information about what topics would be in the contest, especially bringing up the team that would be involved at the convention. Hearing the vampire's words made Ghoulia moan excitedly as she pulled out one of her Deadfast comics to show her favorite hero being a part of a team. It had numerous monster heroes posing heroically and ironically representing her friends.

"If that's the case in entering the convention. Then we need eight people, along someone who can represent Empress."

Armor stating about how many people would be involved in the team cosplay as there were nine characters they'd be at Nekrocon. Looking at the comic they saw the fictional monster heroine Empress, looking familiar to a certain mummy that had both the appearance and fashion sense of Cleo. Continuing to look at the comic to see who'd they appear at the convention as; they heard a sudden cough from behind them which came from Cleo who happened to ease drop on the conversation they were having.

"I prefer your royal majesty, but I like the sound of empress. What's going on?"

Asking curious as she was strolling across the school grounds trying to show off her new imported necklace that her father sent to show off to the student undead body. Ghoulia was able to summarize her situation and how the tickets being bought by everyone leaving her and Armor to apply into a contest posing as her favorite zombie hero and the team Deadfast was in.

"Representing myself as one of the dreading monsters on stage for thousands of fans to see? Sounds rather fun, besides that things are rather dull at the school. Plus that I can have my ten thousand servants send in the proper clothing to make the costumes."

Entertaining the idea of joining the gang in cosplaying as the monster heroes since she'd enjoy the attention that the fans at Nekrocon would give her. The others chuckled at her interest in Ghoulia's plan along desired to participate in helping her and Armor out. Except for Junior as he didn't seem sure in joining them on this oddball plan.

"You don't want to participate in going to the convention? From the comics you have I thought you'd jump to the chance."

Frankie asking the lizard Kaiju about not helping out with the group. Each of his friends gave a questionable look about not joining since he was always involved in being on stage and showing off his talents, though this time it didn't seem like the case. Not responding to their looks, Clawdeen was the only one to know what bothered him about the plan along making her smile in a humorous manner.

"I think it's because he's going be wearing something that might make him silly, right?"

Figuring out that while Junior could be intimidating at most of the times when it involved making himself known in front of a large crowd. It seemed was with wearing a costume that make him look funny, which made Junior snort at the werewolf's response not acknowledging that it was true.

"I thought we got past your stage fright after that assignment Mrs. O'Shriek had you do or doing that dancing assignment."

Cleo questioning the king's moments when he tackled serious moments that made Junior felt uncomfortable. Seeing how his friends wanted to know why this seemed to bother him, Junior decided to show me by pulling out his Icoffin and brought up a video that was posted long ago. Everyone huddled in to see what made him not want to help out as the video started, it showed Junior who had on several metal cans around him and makeup during his first performance. They could tell that his costume was poorly made and he was nervous of playing one of his songs, this led to as usual another Kaiju seeing through his costume and trying to attack him to claim the title as king of the Kaiju.

"Tough crowd."

Armor speaking out without thinking as he thought Junior would tail hit him into the wall. Yet Junior only nodded at the response since it made him ridiculous and give others reason enough to take his title if he would dress like that.

"Well now you have a crowd that won't laugh at you and could make something that'll be exciting and fun. Just have to trust Ghoulia on this since she's expert on comics."

Draculaura offering her suggestion at the video since she knew about appearing as something to monsters and getting mixed reactions. Seeing the confidence in her and the others on doing this for Ghoulia and Armor, Junior merely took a moment to think about it for a second before caving in on how it was hard to say no in front of friends like them.

"Alright. I'll do it, it's not everyday monsters and Kaiju decide to dress up like superheroes."

Agreeing to help out which made Ghoulia groan in excitement for having the king of Kaiju help out in getting into Nekrocon and hoping to get issue zero. Hearing his decision in joining them, Cleo goes on her Icoffin to start getting the right clothing and accessories ready for them to head to the convention as well possibly see what it was like to see Ghoulia and Armor's hobby lifestyle.

Later-Nekrocon Convention Center

Located near the busy part of resident Kaiju buildings was a large center that the comic convention was being held at. Numerous monsters and Kaiju were walking into the building with numerous costumes they had either bought online or made, most importantly they were preparing for buying several of the rarest collectibles and expensive to prove their dedication for being fans of the creators that made their favorite stories. Walking up to check out the front of Nekrocon was two werewolves who were chuckling at the sight of many ghouls and monsters wearing all manners of costumes that were either incredibly well design or easy to make.

"Geez. Look at all these geeks, don't expect a wolf like me wearing spandex and cardboard boxes."

The werewolf joking about how silly everyone looked in their costumes. Though as they continued to laugh at the sight, it was suddenly stopped by a growl from behind which made the two werewolves nervous at who might have heard the sly remark. Turning around they saw none other than Caesar, who had set of fake wings with padded armor around him so he appeared to look like he can fly.

"Ours isn't made out of cardboard."

He said to the two as both werewolves noticed behind the Shisa Kaiju was the others in their own sets of costumes. Appearing like a superhero team jumping out of the comics, the two wolves ran away due to how intimidating they appeared and not wanting any kind of trouble. Ghoulia moaned from behind Caesar as she was telling him that his character 'Griffin' was terrifying to his enemies, he was also friendly to the public.

"She has a point Caesar. We got to fit the roles of our characters, especially how I'm Forge. The subterranean builder and digger."

Armor stating about sticking to their roles as his costume revolves around wearing a mining type uniform with him having handmade rock clothing on his arms. The group took a look at the convention seeing it getting more packed leaving them to head in before it was too late. In the back was Junior who was posing as Ultra Rex, who was basically a mild manner dinosaur before a meteor struck him and changed him into the strongest dinosaur alive. He had his own cape along an emblem on his chest with glowing meteor on it.

"Shouldn't the lizard of steel smile? That's how he is in the comics."

Hearing a voice by the side which came from Clawdeen who was dressed up as Wonder Wolf, a werewolf who blessed by the gods to protect her pack and others in need of her protection. Before he could respond to Clawdeen he noticed by her side was Frankie and Draculaura with their own alter egos. Frankie's being Voltageous, a Franken monster that was struck with a man-made thunderbolt that granted them control over electricity from the sky itself. Draculaura's alter ego is Violet Bat, who could construct anything from her mind.

"Much like Draculaura posing as the silent type. Though I remember humans having their own bat type superhero."

Making a similarity between Draculaura and possibly a human related comic idea in Clawdeen's home which made the vampire roll her eyes at Junior on she could be serious and have fun at the same time. The four followed the others into the convention center where they soon found themselves in a massive auditorium filled with hundreds of panels and merchandise that involved everything from books to other monster or Kaiju related media.

"Is this one of those moments where you get speechless? Because that's what I'm feeling right now. Is it bad since kidneys need air?"

Frankie asking their friends as there were so many monsters and Kaiju wearing costumes they made to celebrate the occasion. Seeing the others looking around for where the cosplaying contest would be located, they regrouped with them so they could register.

"Once we entered the contest, will be able to explore all of Nekrocon for the rest of the day. Maybe try to find issue zero."

Armor reading the rules of the contest as it lets anyone explore around the convention and finish with the entry. It was a challenge to get past the crowd of fans passing by them along not having their costumes bumping into others. Cleo getting annoyed by the traffic decided to use her 'alter ego' to her advantage and put her queen training to good use.

"My people! Your Empress of the ancients demands that you let us make way to the contest stage!"

Shouting out amongst to the crowd and posing for them like her character would in Ghoulia's comics. This made them obey her as they were portraying their own respectable characters made way for Cleo and her friends to allow them to move forward without traffic. Passing by now easily, they could the stand where the contest would be held. Making it to the stage and seeing a skeleton judge where he was writing down the group names, he saw the ghouls and Kaiju looking at him as it shocking the teenagers looked like their comic book counterparts.

"Name of your group team?"

Asking nervously as Ghoulia groans to him the name of her friend's team as the skeleton began to write it down. Meanwhile for Armor who was taking a moment to admire the other groups costumes, he noticed one of prizes if a team won the contest. Ghoulia groaning to the others about when they needed to get on stage, she noticed her friend gasping at the stage as the zombie was speechless at what he was staring at.

"Ghoulia? You know it isn't good for you to drop your jaw in front of people. We have to maintain the image that we have the best design and quality in these costumes."

Reminding her about how to present herself when she was amongst her classmates as Cleo didn't understand what was making her friend speechless. The others looked at the zombie and Kaiju ankylosaurus were staring at one of the security guards holding the Deadfast issue zero comic. It would be one of the prizes for the teams if they won, however for first place it was a special ticket that could allow any winner to get anything from Nekrocon for free.

"Guess we really have to put on a show for them if we're going win that comic."

Clawdeen suggesting to her friends that if they were going get issue zero for Ghoulia and Armor. With that in mind they noticed other groups coming together preparing to go on stage and present themselves with their own hand-made costumes. Taking a moment to settle in and observe the stage, everyone including the entry groups and audience saw an announcer come up stage which was a cyclops who was greeting the crowd.

"Hello fellow monsters, ghouls and Kaiju alike to the twenty third year of Nekrocon!"

Shouting to the audience in getting them excited for the event as all amongst the convention was paying close attention to how the contest would start. Without any warning the lights went off in a second along with a crashing sound happening, no one was able to see through the pitch black and couldn't tell what was happening. Frankie was able to help out with the black out as they took a second to generate a spark from their fingers and to see a nearby circuit breaker, charging it up and getting the lights to turn on. One of the groups screamed at the Deadfast comic being broken from its case and the glass shattered across the stage.

"Someone's up on the rafters!"

Draculaura shouting at the person responsible for shutting off the lights and taking the issue. Everyone looked at the culprit as it looked like a vulture like Kaiju wearing a purple hat with a matching cape. Letting out a menacing caw across the audience along holding the comic in its talons and showing it to everyone.

"It is I! The Shadow Poacher, for years I have been denied permission to attend Nekrocon because of my 'behavior' in taking cosplaying serious. Or of how I am more of a fan than anyone here, but now my revenge has come. By destroying the value of issue zero and making it nothing more than a child's book."

Announcing his name and intention with the comic in his talons which made everyone scream in fear of it being unopened and the price would plummet. No one wanted to risk damaging the book or rushing the vulture, except for Junior as he decided to take the opportunity to use his status to this moment.

"Hey buzzard breath! Why settle for a comic than go for something really valuable, beating Ultra Rex. Also as the king of Kaiju!"

Shouting back at him and seeing if he would take the bait as everyone amongst the crowd cheered for the lizard of steel seeing they couldn't tell it was Junior. The vulture Kaiju only snarled at him before flapping his in the air preparing to attack him as he was portraying the part as the Shadow Poacher was going to attack him. Swooping down upon him, leaving him to tail slap him in the face forcing Poacher to drop the comic in midair. Monsters and Kaiju watched at issue zero about to fall and frightened about it getting dirt on it or teared up, luckily someone was there to catch it.

"Deadfast saved issue zero!"

One of the fans cried out as it was Ghoulia who was fortunate enough to grab the comic book before it fell onto the stage floor. The Poacher saw the zombie girl with the issue and tried to rush her, only for his cape to be grabbed by Caesar who wasn't amused by this act.

"No one lays a hand on Cleo's friends and live to brag about it!"

Roaring at the vulture before spinning him around in a circular motion before sliding to the stage floor. Standing up he was going to attack Caesar only to accidentally stepped on something sharp, which was from Armor as he silently laid out his back for the Poacher to step on him. Yelling in pain at the spikes in his feet, he didn't notice the ghouls who took the curtains from the side and began to tie him up. Keeping him wrapped up and denying him any type of freedom as they saw the vulture trying to break free. The vulture looked at the ghouls standing over him and showing no type of fear that he showed when he showed himself in front of the audience.

"I can't believe it. Out of all the possibilities of being stopped, I didn't expect to be caught by the Power Ghouls. This is really a fan's dream."

Admitting to them about not expecting a group that represented one of the best things to happen to him. Several of the guards took him away as the group suddenly heard the audience behind them cheering for saving issue zero and putting on an incredible show for everyone. Ghoulia herself was speechless at the attention she was receiving and how she was holding issue zero in her hands along cosplaying as her favorite zombie superhero.

"That's the type of show you'll can only get here at Nekrocon! Along with a Deadfast saving her own comic!"

The announcer stating as he came back to see how things were handled on stage and that the trouble had ended. Ghoulia looking at the comic as well seeing that she and her friends didn't win it fairly, the zombie offered it back to the announcer so it could be won fairly. Though that made the audience express a different responded to the kind gesture.

"Ghoulia? I think they might want you to keep the comic for saving it."

Armor suggesting about how everyone thought it be right for her to keep the comic and almost risking her afterlife in not letting it get ruined. The announcer agreed with it as well allowing Ghoulia to keep the comic as gift of gratitude for protecting it. Ghoulia moaned in excitement as she raised issue zero in the air causing everyone to cheer for the astounding moment for a fan of Dead fast to be holding issue zero. Her friends applauded in the background as a good moment to see her friend in the spotlight, as well it being a perfect moment for them to see how the summer would be full of excitement with it starting off this way.
