Frozen Heart Part 4
Chapter 31: Zerah: An Instrument Of His Will
Zerah was watching him watching her every move. His name was Akeem, a man that came from the Northern Kingdoms and had settled down in Tehomia. He was not a beautiful man, but he was not ugly either. He was just ordinary looking, and he was not a man that was noticeable.
Zerah was thinking that with the way that he was looking at her, it was probably the first time he had seen another woman naked, and she felt good about herself with the way he was looking at her.
That was all he was good for, that and hiding her, now where she was back from the limbo of the dead.
Zerah had been interested in him as soon as he had shown interest in her and she had played her part as good as she could. She was laughing when she saw prince Kasim and his guards coming riding towards Arif´s home as if some vile monsters were after them.
Zerah and Akeem had been watching from the window of his home and she had barely heard anything he said.
"What is the prince doing there? Why are there so many guards? What is going on? Are you okay Zerah?" Akeem had asked her.
All these questions sounded so far away, and she did not care. There were other reasons for her to be there with him. He was supposed to show interest in her from the very beginning, and it had been so easy to manipulate him.
Akeem´s parents had settled in the Northern Kingdoms and there they had run a practice as doctors, and they had been good at their jobs and had been saving many peoples lives for the most part.
He had learned everything about being a doctor from them, and he had now become very good at mixing medicinal herbs. He was so proud of his abilities that he had shown Zerah how to mix poisons.
Something Zerah was very interested to know about.
If she was going to do what her master said, then poison could be a weapon of use. However, if something happened to the royal family it would be quite possible that Akeem was going to figure out and know that it was her who was responsible, and Zerah could not risk this.
"Do you like what you see?" Zerah asked him not caring what he had to say.
She could see that he was blushing.
"Are you a virgin Akeem?"
Akeem did not say anything.
"That was what I thought about you Akeem. With all the training that you have gotten as a doctor, it probably means that you never really had time for women, but do not worry. I am about to teach you something different."
Zerah turned away from him. She did not want him to see that she had a difficult time controlling her laughter. She was going to kill him in a few moments and the stupid man did not even know that she had placed a knife under one of the pillows.
Zerah got down on the bed and on all fours, and she crawled over to him like a tigress that had just found and was approaching her pray. Akeem seemed exited, her eyes were straight on him, and he was spell bound by her.
Zerah crawled all the way over to him and kissed him on the lips and she pushed him back down onto the bed. She sat on top of him, and they both laughed and kissed one another.
"I am in a total state of bliss now," Akeem said and held her breast in his hands. "Zerah, how can it be I am so blessed to have met you?"
She pulled him towards him, her legs around him and she looked deeply into his eyes, and she thought, "This is the most pathetic man in the world, but I entertain him for now, till he is defenseless."
She felt his cock rubbing up against her opening and she kissed him deeply as she rubbed her pussy lips up and down his shaft.
"You are mine Akeem!"
"I am yours Zerah, I swear I love you!"
How pathetic was he?
He already loved her when they had just met. Was he going to ask her for marriage next?
She laughed at the thought of it.
His lips tasted sweet against her lips as they kissed, and his head went down as he sucked on her nipples and Zerah felt nothing, but disgust for this man.
"Sucking on my breast like a little baby? Give me a break already."
She decided to entertain him and moaned into his ears, "That feels incredible!"
She kissed him and their tongues met each other and danced around like long lost lovers as he moaned in pleasure, while she felt disgusted by him.
She descended upon his cock and she moved her hips back and forward.
"There is not a thing I would not do for my master!" she thought disgusted as she heard his breathing getting more desperate.
"Is he already going to cum?" she thought to herself as he grabbed hold of her ready to give her his semen.
She bit his lips, and in the chock, he let go of her and she got up from his dick and said, "I had to give a bit of discomfort, because I cannot allow you to cum yet."
"Did you have to bite me like that?" Akeem asked her and looked at her, while he was massaging his hurting lips.
"You gave me no choice because I am not done with you!" Zerah said and straddled her lover as she licked his bleeding lips and kissed him.
She felt his hands exploring all parts of her body and he squeezed her buttocks as she descended on his cock again and they were one.
"You are good in bed you know?" Zerah told him.
A great lie.
"Am I really?" he asked and buried his head between her breasts.
Zerah used both of their weighs to roll onto the side, so she was on her back, he was on top of her, and she swung her legs around him. He was surprised by this change in position, but Zerah said: "Take me; I need to feel you inside me!"
His animal instinct unleased he was moving his hips back and forward as his dick was inside of her and Zerah moved his head towards her breast as he sucked on her nipples and kissed them. Her toes were curling with pleasure as she started to reach her orgasm and so into the sex he was that he did not notice her grab the knife beneath the pillow.
Zerah felt his hip movements getting faster. He was not going to last for much longer now, though she was surprised that he had lasted so long.
Then she closed her eyes and heard the pained gasping that came from him. She was smiling as she looked upon the dying man that looked at her with questions in his eyes.
How she hated this worthless man. He was not worthy of her. She was an instrument to his will and no man would ever be worthy of her love and affection. She belonged to Zuldrak!
She belonged to her master.
The blood from Akeem´s throat ran in streams down the knife, down on the bed and down her long slender fingers and she were laughing.
She was laughing at his desperate gasps for breath and laughing as his movements became slower.
"Ah what are you going to do now doctor. You are in an ironic position are you not? For with all those people that you have helped in your life, who is now going to help you?"
He was still inside of her, and she pulled her legs close to herself and she kicked him of her with her full strength as he tumbled down on the floor.
She got up and sat on top of his stomach.
"What are you going to do now little man, what are you going to do now. I got you good did I not? Oh, do you still want my tits?
She did not think that anything could surprise her anymore, but although she had stabbed him through the throat and his blood were pouring out of him, he still wanted to touch her body, still wanted to hold both of her globes with his hands.
"This must be a primal thing. That must be the reason you still want me even though I killed you, but here is the thing, I am not going to have your seed inside of me, I am not going to have your kids, and your family line dies with you. Is that a terrible thought for you?"
She was looking down at him with a big smile on her face, as he struggled to keep his eyes opened.
"Okay I am going to help you a bit," Zerah said, and grabbed his cock and gently she jerked him off. "This is what you like is it not?"
She felt his body tense and she pointed his dick towards his own face as he started to cum and it spewed out of him and landed on his own stomach, and Zerah started laughing as she got up and spit on him.
She went over, picked up her clothes, and took it on while she was watching him on the floor. He was not moving anymore, and he had cum all over himself.
What a humiliation that was going to be. The guards that were going to find him would be talking about this find for years.
She went over to the closet with the herbs, and pulled out a bottle containing a green liquid, and she smiled to herself.
There was more than enough to kill an entire nation, but she only really had a few targets. Those people in the royal family had to die, and then she had to find out what was beneath the castle itself.
Zuldrak had commanded it and she was an instrument of his will, so she would do what she was told or she would die trying.
She looked back at the dead man. He was just a means to an end, and he did not matter, there were so many others just like him, all of them pathetic and all of them weak.
She took the bottle and the herbs used to make poisons and antidotes for she rather wanted to be safe than sorry. The pathetic man had shown her what to do and she remembered it.
There was another obstacle, which she had to consider. If she were going to kill the royal family, then they would be impossible to get close to, as the many guards guarding the palace put a damper on her plans. Luck was with her, for she was supposed to be dead, meaning that she was in a blind spot for them now as it was.
She would be able to create chaos, if she played her cards right. She did not know where to begin though.
Suddenly her task seemed more complicated than she had thought it was going to be at first. Another problem was that she did not know if people could recognize a person that was supposed to be dead.
The mission given almost seemed impossible at this rate, and she had a sinking feeling that she was not going to be able to do this mission alone. She needed an ally on her side, someone that was just like her, but she did not know where to find such an ally, which was another problem.
She was not going to give up. She was going to prove herself the best instrument of his will, and she would do as she was commanded no matter what it was going to take, even if it was going to cost her own life to achieve his will.
Chapter 32: Elsa: Dinner With Tamas
Your majesty
It is with great pride, but also with sorrow that I write to you. As you may know by now, my youngest son is dead, and nothing can bring him back, but my oldest son, my pride and joy will soon be celebrating his birthday.
Given all the things, which has happened in my kingdom and your own, I feel that I must ask you to come to Tehomia, so that I can meet you. I would like to introduce you to my son, as I am afraid that the sorrow in my heart will take me to an early grave.
I would like you to meet my son Kasim, so you two can get to know each other, so there can be a continued future peace between the kingdom of Arendelle and the Sultanate of Tehomia, when I am gone.
Best wishes and hoping you can appear, so we can meet.
From
Sultan Ali Ababwa.
It was a few days since the incident in Elsa's private chambers. Since then, she had not spoken a single word to Anna, and she found herself alone at the dinner table, having memorized the sultan's letter.
The door opened and Kai stepped in.
"Excuse me your grace, but I wonder if I can talk to you?"
"Kai, you do not even have to ask that. What troubles you?"
Just like that, she knew what he wanted to talk about, and before Kai had a chance to say anything Elsa said, "I am sure Gerda is okay. The Southern Isles is known to have an infamous family, so it may be a while before she returns. Maybe that is why the ship has not returned yet, but the captain on board is the most capable one we have so the ship will probably be here soon!"
She gave Kai a soothing smile and Kai left the room.
Elsa was never going to say it aloud, but Kai was right to be concerned. Gerda should have been back from the Southern Isles by now, and Elsa had that old familiar feeling that something had gone wrong!
She thought of her sister.
Anna did not spend as much time at the castle as she usually did, and she had stopped visiting Elsa in her private chambers.
Elsa was mad at her.
Anna had made her feel incompetent as a queen, and she could not forgive Anna for it!
It was days ago now, and now she was not talking to her sister. This had led her to seek out someone else's company.
One day she had been looking for Kai as she walked past the library.
"Tamas would be in there," she told herself, entering the library.
It was a huge room filled with rows and rows of books and other sources of knowledge. Her parents have had a thirst for knowledge of many kinds, but also literature.
"Tamas, are you in here?"
"Yeah, I am down at the far end of the room."
Elsa passed through rows of bookcases on the way down, wondering what some of these books contained of secrets and knowledge.
Tamas was reading a book.
"Hey Tamas" Elsa said. "How are you feeling?"
The Hunchback put the book down.
"I was right in the middle of reading your majesty."
"Is it a good book?"
"Well, this book provides some answers to some of my questions, so it is a very good one!"
"Well, Tamas, I was wondering if you could tell me a little bit about yourself? I hardly know anything about you."
"Well, I come from and have spent most of my life in the Southern Isles, your majesty."
Elsa tensed up a little. She did not expect him to be from there.
Elsa continued, "I wondered and forgive myself for being curious why you really came here in the first place."
"What?"
"You came all the way from the Southern Isles to see my powers. That is what you told me, but I do not think you told me the entire truth. Why was it so important to you?"
Tamas did not say anything, and Elsa thought he was thinking up an answer, even if his face did not reveal a thought.
Then he said, "Years ago my wife died."
That caught Elsa completely off guard. Although she hated to admit it, she had a hard time seeing this hunchback being married to anyone.
"She died when the roof of the house fell on top of us, she died and I lived, I was in a coma. We had two children together, and when I finally woke up, I had been in a deep coma for two years and my daughters were gone. I have not seen them since, and for all I know they are dead just like my wife, I had nothing else left, no need to stay in the Southern Isles for, so I decided to leave. My friend was the captain of a ship and he said to me that he would do me a favor and take me with him aboard his ship. I heard wonderful tales of a young queen and her amazing beauty and magical powers, and I just had to see it for myself and now I am sitting in the library studying and getting knowledge!"
"Tamas had a wife and children," Elsa thought. "This man has lost more than I ever lost in my life."
"What kind of knowledge do you hope to gain?"
"I have an unquenched appetite for knowledge. People say power is power, but I say they are wrong! Knowledge that is the true power when you think about it. The drink I gave you, I have been able to produce it because I gained knowledge about it, when I picked up and read an old book. It helped you right?"
The more Elsa heard the more she came to realize that it was not just an appetite for knowledge, he had.
It was an obsession!
"Yes. Your drinks have really helped me a lot!"
"You have to see what other elixirs I can make! I can even make one that gives a woman the ability to have children, even if her body does not have that ability. I can make an elixir that gives people enhanced strength and a lot more!"
As Elsa sat at the dinner table that night after Kai left, she thought to herself that Tamas was really a mysterious person.
Kai came in again.
"Is there anything you wish for your majesty?"
"Yes, will you bring me Tamas?"
Kai came back two minutes later.
"I will have a private conversation with Tamas, Kai."
Kai looked at her, and then to Tamas, then he bowed and left the room.
After Kai was gone, she said, "I was wondering if you would have dinner with me Tamas?"
"I want to your majesty."
"Come sit next to me."
Tamas approached her seat, sat down, and put some food on his plate. Potatoes and pork chops with gravy.
Elsa found herself happy again.
"I have been thinking about the bad dreams, you have your grace. I think they may be visions of the future!"
The happiness she had felt was gone right in the blink of an eye.
"Are you sure?"
When Elsa did not want his mysterious elixir, Tamas would sometimes ask a little about her dreams.
"The fact that you have dreamed these dreams, which are almost the same, may suggest visions. You have not dreamed any good ones when you do not ask for the elixir?"
"No, I have not, and it drives me insane."
"Well, there is no need to go all insane about it."
They sat eating their dinner in silence.
"Where is your sister?"
"I do not know, and I do not care. One minute she is the best sister in the world, then she suddenly becomes a dragon and right now, we are taking a pause from each other!"
"What did she do?"
"She gave me an order, yelled at her Queen."
"What did she say to get you so upset if I may ask?"
"The Sultan's big ice order will take a long time to complete. It will take many years to complete the order. I think she got mad because she does not get to see her boyfriend as often as she does now!"
"So that was the reason?"
"Yeah, I am sure of it."
"Then talk to her."
"I do not want to talk to her right now."
Tamas put his fork down.
"I want you to listen to me now your majesty."
Elsa could sense something in his voice that she did not like.
"Your sister almost died for you, and with that act she came back to life. She has also spent most of her life alone in this great castle ignored by you. For the first time in forever, she is finally happy to find herself a boyfriend and then she is told she does not get to see him often! Do you want her to be lonely for the rest of her life or what?"
Elsa was speechless.
No one had ever talked to her like that, and as his words began to sink in, she realized he was right.
"I will talk to her when I see her."
"I think that would be a good idea, Your Majesty, I am sure she will be very happy about it; you two sisters must stick together!"
"I know."
"Then do it. The last thing you need my queen is more drama, am I right in that?"
He was right, Elsa thought to herself, and she realized that she had acted with a big ego in front of her sister, and she knew that the wisest course of action was to apologize to her. Then she would try to explain to her sister why it was important that this ice deal came through, why it was so important for this deal to be successful.
If this deal were successful, it would forever cement Elsa's reputation for being a skilled leader, and Arendelle would become a kingdom that would prove itself effective when it came to work. All of that was important for the future and stability of the kingdom.
She thought her sister would really feel lonely if Kristoff got more work hours, but every second was important and no second could go to waste.
Elsa said, "I have recently received a letter about Prince Kasim´s birthday. He is the heir to the Sultanate of Tehomia. I am going to the Sultanate with Kristoff, so that we can appear at prince his birthday. It will give us all a chance to get to know one another, so there can be peace long after Sultan Ali is gone."
Tamas said; "That sounds like a good idea."
Elsa wanted to ask Tamas what he thought of her as Queen of Arendelle, but she was afraid his answer would not be a good one, but she gathered her courage and asked, "Tamas, may I ask you a question?"
"It depends on what kind of question it is."
"It's not a personal one."
"Then go on."
"Tamas, what do you think of me as queen?"
Tamas did not look at her, but then he replied, "I think you are young and beautiful, and you care about your subjects and most of them are happy because of your rule. You have brought new wealth to the kingdom, and most are grateful for it, but I heard that when you lost control of your powers last time, there were two deaths."
Elsa nodded silently.
"Anita and Matilda." Elsa thought to herself.
They had become victims of the cold snow, and no matter how Elsa turned that incident in her head, she knew that their deaths were all her fault and nobody else's.
She wished she could travel back through time and right the mistakes of the past, but she could not do it. The mother and her child were dead, and nothing could bring them back to life.
Tamas finished his meal and got up to leave, but before he left, he said, "Well, your majesty, I will go to bed, but before I leave you, I will tell you a truth, the bad deed does not wash away the good deed, and the good deed does not wash away the bad deed. It is up to you to find out how many good or bad deeds you will make in this life!"
With these words, he left her alone.
"The bad deed does not wash away the good deed, and the good deed does not wash away the bad deed." She could not help but think that this saying contained more truth than many other sayings combined.
She had to live with the fact that she had failed to protect her people at that time, and she had to live with the fact that not all subjects of the kingdom were loyal to her.
It made her question herself how to deal with the people she knew were not loyal to her. They had to be stopped unless she would suffer traitors from within her own kingdom. The people who were not faithful to her had to disappear before they could do any real damage to her kingdom.
She knew how to deal with it.
The first thing she wanted to do was talk to her sister and the other thing she wanted to do was to summon her spies and let them loose in her kingdom.
Chapter 33: Kristoff: The Hearts Desire
"Am I already out again?" he thought to himself.
Was he out of carrots again?
He found it to be extremely annoying on so many levels. There was only one place here in the mountains where he could get some new carrots and he did not look forward to the meeting that was about to happen.
He had not been there since that day he first met Anna, the love of his life, and he would rather not return to that place, but it seemed he had to. After all, carrots were his favorite things to eat, and so it was for Sven.
Standing outside the "Wandering Oak's Trading Post and Sauna." he remembered the last time he was here. Oak had lifted him up and had thrown him outside in the snow, but he himself admitted that it was his own fault.
He took a deep breath and went into the building.
There was no one in there.
He went up to the table and found the carrots in a box. Just the carrots he had been looking for, but Oaken was nowhere to be seen.
"Hello" Kristoff said. "Is anyone here?"
The door to the sauna opened and a large man appeared.
"Yoo-Hoo! Big Summer Blowout!" Oaken said and walked out of the sauna.
He had a towel wrapped around him as he sat down on the chair and Kristoff had completely forgotten how tall Oaken was, and he decided to be careful about the things he was going to say.
"Only this week you can get those carrots and a visit to the sauna for only 12 skilling, YA?"
"I am only after the carrots!" Kristoff said in an annoyed tone.
"It will be 11 skilling, YA?"
Kristoff counted the carrots in the plastic bag.
"I count six carrots. Do you tell me that six carrots cost 11 skilling, there is not even one 1 kg here?"
"I am throwing in some sunscreen too!"
"Are you…?" Kristoff was about to say off your meds, but he decided that was probably not the best idea to say.
He was arguing about the price when the door opened, and a hooded figure came into the life-giving warmth from the cold weather.
"Yoo-Hoo! Big Summer Blowout!" Oaken said with a big smile on his face.
Kristoff had a weird feeling about Deja-vu about it all, but he kept his mouth shut. The newcomer took off her coat and Kristoff's heart were still, now that he could finally see the face of the woman.
Before him stood the most beautiful woman, he had ever seen. It was not her slender figure that attracted him, but it was her black hair going down to her shoulders and her amazing green eyes, which were greener than most human eyes were.
She was so beautiful.
The woman walked straight up to Oaken and asked, "Do you have any snowshoes?"
"They are right there in our winter department, they cost 30 skilling, but for you, I will also give you a bottle of my own special homemade sunscreen, YA?"
"I do not have that much money. Big Summer Blowout?"
Kristoff said, "If you do not have the money allow me to help you pay for them, so you have an easy way of travel."
Kristoff could not take his eyes off her.
He felt a desire to own this woman in front of him, a feeling he had never felt before, not even with Anna, and when he tried to think of her, it was almost like the mental image of Anna, began to disappear from his mind, replacing her image with the woman in front of him.
He, along with Anna, had decided to take it easy and see where their relationship was going, but when he looked at this woman, he suddenly found it difficult to remember Anna. The urge to own this woman was so strong, but he understood what he was thinking and left the small building quickly, because deep down he would never dream of cheating on Anna with another woman.
He realized that he had come out without the carrots for a second time, and without helping to pay for the snowshoes. He was annoyed at that fact, but he did not dare venture in there again.
"What just happened?" Sven said nervously. "Have you pissed the man off again?"
"No, I just could not stay in there anymore, there was a woman. I cannot even begin to explain it; all I know was that I had to get out of there. It is Anna I love and no one else!"
Sven looked at him with a worried look on his face.
"You felt something for that woman, did you not?" Sven said and got angry with Kristoff.
"I have never felt that feeling before. Not even with Anna! I wanted to own this woman Sven. I would beat everyone who looked at her!"
The door opened and the woman with the green eyes came out. Both Kristoff and Sven almost froze as if Elsa had enchanted them.
"You ran out of the building so quickly, so I thought something was wrong!" the woman said calmly as she approached the frozen in place couple.
"You already have a girlfriend," Sven said.
"No, there is nothing wrong. I just came here to see if I had any money that I had forgotten. But no, I did not."
The woman with the green eyes looked at him, and Kristoff was sure she could see the deepest desires of his heart if he looked directly into her eyes.
That is why he kept his head down.
"What is your name stranger?" she asked with a big smile on her face.
"My name is Kristoff!" he said in a silent shaking voice.
"What is your name, my lady?"
"Please, I am no lady, but if you want to know my name then it is Nell."
"You look like someone who is far from home, you are not from around these parts of the five kingdoms, am I right?"
Nell kept looking at him.
"You are right Mr. Kristoff. I am not from around these parts, and I do not really have a home," Nell said with a voice that did not reveal her feelings. "I am heading to the Kingdom of Arendelle. Do you know where to go?"
"Yeah, I was just heading back there. If you want, we can travel there together. That is if you want to?"
Kristoff could see that Sven was trying to restrain himself from kicking him in the balls, but it was only natural to help a stranger in distress. Kristoff was not cheating on Anna; he would only give Nell a ride back to Arendelle.
"You cheat, do not dare do it to Anna, do not dare!" Sven said, but Kristoff could do nothing else but ignore him.
He was not cheating, but what Kristoff really wanted was Nell, he could barely visualize Anna, and he knew he was going to feel guilty, and he did, but the guilt also started to disappear from him. He felt lost in Nell's green eyes, and he knew that if there was one person that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with, that person was Nell.
"Well, okay, I will go with you!" Nell said, looking at him and giving him a big smile!
"Well, step right up then," he said, entering his sled.
He got his sled from Anna as a gift, but his thoughts were not on her. Suddenly he felt guilty about having this sled in the first place, but that guilt started to disappear from him too.
"Give me your hand!" he said, taking her hand and helping her into the sled.
"Excuse me Nell, but I just wanted to learn a little about you, if you do not mind?"
"I do not mind that at all!" Nell said.
"So where are you from?" Kristoff asked her as they drove towards Arendelle.
"I am from the Southern Isles," she said.
Kristoff's thoughts immediately fell on Hans, and he thought back to all the things that had happened because of that prince's evil.
"The same place Prince Hans is from!" he said, taking a sip of his coffee and placing it in the cup holder.
"It reminds me that I need to talk to her Majesty the Queen, I almost forgot!" Nell said with her eyes wide open.
"Why would you like to talk to her if I may ask?"
"Something has happened on the Southern Isles that she needs to know about, something of great concern to everyone!"
"What has happened?" he asked.
"Forgive me for saying this Mr. Kristoff, but it is best you do not know."
"I work directly under the Queen so you can declare your business with her to me if it is!"
"If you appreciate your queen, you will drive as fast as possible!"
Kristoff turned to Sven: "Can you run faster Sven?"
"Yes, but I am doing it for the Queen and not for you, your cheating little carrot stealing...!"
"How long does it take to get to Arendelle from here?" Nell asked Kristoff anxiously.
"Two hours at this speed!"
"Can the reindeer run even faster?" Nell asked.
"Well, he used to be able to; by the way his name is Sven."
"Oh, hello Sven."
Sven gave a small nod with his head.
"Mr. Kristoff. I could have just imagined things, but has Sven just nodded at me?"
"He sure did Nell. Sven is not like any other reindeer. He is smart, he is a very reliable friend to have, and he understands what people says to him. I have spent years with Sven, so I know him very well of course."
"So, can you read him like an open book?"
"Well, for the most part I can."
"I think Sven is cute."
Kristoff looked at Sven, who´s face lightened up like a Christmas tree, and he knew that Sven was starting to like Nell too!
"Tell me, Nell, what are you going to tell the queen?"
"Something in her interest to hear Mr. Kristoff, but I was wondering, what does she look like and what is her personality like?"
"The Queen's name is Elsa and she is a strong individual and I have seen it firsthand that she is a warm and smart woman. You must gain her trust. She has a sister by the name of Anna, who is extremely energetic and the best person you could wish for."
"Best person? You love her, right?" Nell asked him, but it was more of a fact than a real question.
Kristoff did not say anything, but then he said, "Yes, yes I love her."
He knew, however, that he did not sound very convincing. Nell looked at him, and Kristoff was sure she was trying to read him like an open book, so he kept his focus on the road ahead of him.
None of them said anything the rest of the journey.
They found themselves in Arendelle after two hours had passed.
Kristoff thought it was a welcome sight to see the castle again, and when he turned around and saw Nell's face, he could not stop laughing a little for himself. It looked like Nell was in complete awe of the splendor that reeked from the city.
"There is the castle!" Kristoff said and Nell walked over to him.
They went straight to the castle, Kristoff noticed that Nell looked all over around her, as she was trying to catch every single detail and remember them, and he chuckled a bit for himself.
"So, what do you think about the castle and the city that has popped up here?"
"I cannot wait to explore it further, but that must wait for now."
They went straight to the castle, through its courtyard and stopped in front of the entrance to the throne room.
"Oh Kristoff, you are back!" Anna ran over to him and kissed him on his lips. He did not feel anything about it, and it made him think about what kind of a man he was!
Chapter 34: Anna: A Meeting With Tamas
She had been walking through a corridor in the castle when her sister came out of a room. Elsa had looked at her with her blue eyes, cold and no longer with a hint of warmth in them, as Anna was used to.
"Hi Elsa, how are you?" Anna had asked her.
Elsa became more visibly annoyed.
"Really, you ask me that! How dare you?"
"What is wrong Elsa? Did I do something wrong?"
"Do not play dumb with me Anna. You come to my private chambers and start ordering me around as if I was not the queen. Then you have the nerve to question my decisions when I make them to protect my people, in the case the sultan was planning a sneak attack!"
"What are you talking about Elsa? I have not been in your room for a long time now!"
"Do not take me for a fool Anna!"
Anna was shocked.
She had not visited Elsa's room since they had sex together.
"I am sorry to say this to you Elsa, but I think Tamas's drinks can have side effects on your brain. I do not know what you are talking about!"
"So you are suffering from memory loss now? That is really original."
Anna felt like she was talking to a stranger and not the sister she used to know.
"You are mad sister!"
"Anna, I have to ask you to stop this game. Olaf was in the room too and he saw it all, do not try to fool me!"
"I swear Elsa, I have no idea what you are talking about, on my honor, I swear!"
"So, you are telling me, that the Anna I saw was a fraud. No one in the city or castle looks like you but good try!"
Then Elsa turned and left, leaving Anna speechless. She knew she had not done what Elsa accused her of doing.
"I would have remembered!" she told herself.
She had gone to Olaf's home to get his side of the story. She went to the door and knocked on it.
"Just a second!" she heard Olaf say.
The door opened, and instead of Olaf asking for a warm hug, which he used to do, he just stood up and looked at Anna with a searching look on his face. Anna did not know what to say. The evidence that she had shouted at her sister became clearer, and she did not know what to think about it.
"Hello Olaf, may I come in?"
"No, you cannot!"
Anna felt her eyes sweat.
"Why not?" she asked, trying to stay calm.
"I do not know if you are the real Anna or not!"
"Of course, I am Anna, who else would I be?"
"You can be an imposter!" Olaf said without a hint of warmth in his tone.
"Okay then I will go again!" she said.
She turned around and walked towards the castle with tears running down her cheeks.
"Anna, wait a minute!"
She stopped. Olaf ran towards her.
"Give me a hug!" he said, and this time he sounded like he demanded it. "I need to know something that I can only feel through hugs!"
"You can take that hug and stick it up, where there is no summer since you treat me like this! This is the last time I have hugged you; I promise you that!"
She began walking back to the castle, leaving Olaf behind. It was a hot summer night and on a normal day, she would have been happy, but now she was starting to question herself. At the look on Olaf's face, something told her something had happened, but why could she not remember it?
"Did I lose my memories and my mind?" she asked herself.
Anna did not know what to do and she felt scared.
"If I really yelled at Elsa but I cannot remember it myself, then what should I do?" she asked herself a thousand times.
She wanted Kristoff to be here with her now. She suddenly realized she wanted to spend the rest of her life with him. Without him, she would not know what to do.
She went back to the castle with the hope that she and her sister could talk about things, and she would tell Elsa that she really could not remember anything. She was knocking on the door to Elsa's private chambers when she saw Tamas.
"Hey Tamas, how are you doing?" she said, trying not to reveal how sad she was feeling.
"I feel great my princess. How are you? "
"I am fine just fine!" she lied.
"No, you are not. I feel like you are not feeling too well. Why do you not come and visit me in my room, and we can talk about things?"
"It is very kind of you but,"
"Oh, I insist!" Tamas said, leading her into his personal room. Elsa had given Tamas a big room to meet the responsibility he had in taking care of Elsa's health.
"His bed is very big" Anna noticed. "Too big for a small hunchback!"
Tamas sat down on a chair and asked Anna to do the same.
"So, Anna, what seems to be the problem?" Tamas said with a smile on his face.
"It's nothing right. Only me who seems to have forgotten a particular event in my life."
"What event?"
"I have apparently shouted at the queen and insulted her in this way, but I do not remember the event going on at all."
"Just let me have a look."
He walked over to the table with a small parchment on it.
"He seems to be reading it!" Anna thought and became curious about what was written on the parchment.
"No, I made her majesty the elixir as it should be. Recently, I had dinner with your sister when she complained that you had shouted at her and had disrespected her, but I would never believe that of you. Anna. It would be completely out of character for you to do it!"
"I do not remember I did that. Olaf would not even hug me at first when I came over to him for a visit."
"He is a product of Elsa's childhood memories."
Anna asked, "What does this have to do with anything?"
"It has everything to do with it. Let me explain it to you how I look at things. I guess when Elsa made the snowman, she built it by remembering her childhood memories of you two together, and this way, Olaf has a child's mind and curiosity, but he is still a part of Elsa. I think that Olaf will naturally take Elsa's side in conflict because she created him. Imagine if my elixirs did not work perfectly as they should, and Elsa started hearing voices again, something that is not really happening, then it does not matter if Olaf was with her or not. He just says what she says."
Anna tried to process what he said in her mind.
"So, you say Elsa is just imagining it all?"
Tamas looked around the room to make sure no one else was listening.
"I think she is very sick!" Tamas said as if she should know what he was trying to say.
"Do you think she is just imagining things?"
"Yes, that is exactly what I think. The potions I give her work as they should, and now the queen goes around and sees things. I blame her power for that. Because I do not think for a moment, you would do such a thing!"
"If my sister gets insane, then what should we do?"
"Nothing for she said to me, when we had dinner together, that she would apologize to you, but I think the only reason she wanted to that was because she does not want to be considered the crazy queen!"
Anna felt like vomiting.
"So, what should I do?" she asked.
"Just say you are sorry! That would be the wisest course of action."
"He was absolutely serious about what he had just said!" Anna realized.
"And there's another thing I have to say to you Anna."
"And what is it?"
"I think your sister may be in love with your boyfriend Kristoff! She gets a dreamy look when I mention..."
"That's enough!" Anna said and got up and walked to the door.
"Where are you going?"
"Far away from you!"
"You remind me of my daughter!" he said suddenly.
Anna froze in place.
"Do you have a daughter?" she asked him with wide-open eyes. "I did not know you had a daughter."
"I had two, and for all I know, they are both dead. You remind me of my oldest daughter. She was a sweet, innocent, and kind soul, my younger also, but you remind me of my eldest, I tell you these things because you must keep in mind that your sister can go insane, and I do not want to see you get hurt!"
"My sister would never hurt me like that. NEVER! You do not know what you are talking about!"
"But I do. You see Elsa did recently receive a letter from the sultan of Tehomia. She has been invited to attend his eldest son Kasim's birthday celebration. Elsa had decided to travel to the Sultan's palace to attend his son's birthday, but Kristoff, who is a master harvester, is going to be present too. It would look bad if Elsa did not show up given the fact that the sultan lost his son. Elsa will probably leave you to rule the kingdom in her place so you cannot travel with them."
"He would never cheat on me; he would never do that to me!"
"How do you know for sure?"
"We have true love between us."
"You wanted to get married the first day you met Hans and you do remember how that went Anna?"
Tamas walked over to the window and looked outside, and suddenly he exclaimed, "Speak of the Djinn of old, look, there he is with another woman, and a very pretty one in fact."
Tamas pointed to something outside the window. Anna approached the window with a racing heart and looked outside.
"That is Kristoff, and he is walking next to another woman. Are you still sure about him Anna!"
"He would never cheat on me! He would never cheat on me, I tell you!"
"If you say so, I just do not want to see you hurt Anna, so if you really trust Kristoff, that is it, but I am very doubtful of his intentions towards you, for you are after all a means to an end!"
"What do you mean by that?"
"You still do not get it do you. He picked you for an unloved fool just like that Hans did and with Hans out of the way, Kristoff now tries to get with you, so he can rise above his station."
"Do not talk about him like that. You do not even know him!"
"I do not need to know him, for I am not blind to the fact that he has been following you since you parted with Hans, and it was no doubt his intention to take his place and his chance to get some royal meat upon his cock, all so he could get closer to your sister!"
She ran out of the room as fast as she could.
"It is lies, it is lies and it is nothing but lies!" she said to herself repeatedly. "Kristoff would never dream about hurting me like that. He would never do that to me!"
She ran down a set of corridors and down a flight of stairs. Gasping for breath, she realized that the woman next to Kristoff was probably just a friend.
She met them in the hall.
"Oh Kristoff, you are back!" Anna ran over to him and kissed him on his lips. "How have you been?"
Chapter 35: Nell: The Truth Revealed
They had just entered the castle, when Nell saw the woman with the red hair coming towards them and almost threw herself at Kristoff.
"Oh Kristoff, you are back!" the red-haired woman said and kissed him on his lips. "How have you been?" the woman asked.
"I am fine," he told her. "What about you?"
"Well, there is something I need to tell you."
"Can it wait until later? We need to see the queen right away!" he said, pointing to Nell.
"Oh," said the woman with the red hair. "Who is this?"
"Anna, this is Nell. Nell this is Princess Anna, sister of Her Majesty, Queen Elsa of the Kingdom of Arendelle!"
"What do I say?" Nell asked herself, reminding herself that she had grown up in a castle and she should act as if she belonged in one.
"My Princess, it is a privilege to meet you!"
"The honor is mine," Anna replied.
To Nell, Anna had come up with a cold response, and Nell was sure she was much undesired in Anna´s presence at this point, but Nell had to be strong. She knew it because the lives of the citizens were right now in danger. Although she wanted to get close to the queen, she had to be calm.
Calmer than she had ever been before.
Before Nell managed to say anything else, Anna led Kristoff away into a corner. To Nell, it seemed as if Anna and Kristoff were in the middle of a discussion, and she got nervous about what they were discussing.
"Maybe they are talking about me, but it is not my business, so I am not thinking about or worrying about what they are talking about!" she said to herself.
However, she had to swallow those thoughts again, as it seemed that Anna and Kristoff's discussion was about her. She saw Anna look at her from time to time and not in a good way. Nell thought Anna was a beautiful woman with her red hair and Nell was sure Anna was tough too.
Suddenly she thought she did not mind meeting Anna in a dark room with only a few candles lit. Nell found Anna to be extremely attractive.
"I wonder if her sister is as beautiful as Anna?" she asked herself. "No, get those dirty thoughts out of your head Nell! Stay focused! You wanted and needed to warn the Queen!"
Finally, Kristoff and Anna came over to her again. Anna was about to say something to her when the door to the courtyard opened and Nell was taken aback by what she saw.
It was a walking, talking and extremely energetic snowman!
The snowman looked up at Nell with a big smile and said, "Hi I am Olaf and I like warm hugs; do you want one?"
Nell did not know what to think about this. At first, she thought she had really passed away this time, when there was a talking snowman walking around, but when she looked at Anna and saw that Anna was waiting for her response to the snowman, Nell guessed that it would not be dangerous to give Olaf a hug.
Nell gave him a hug and Olaf was happy. Nell saw Kristoff give him a hug as well, and Olaf was happy again, but Olaf turned away from Anna as soon as he looked up at her.
It seemed like Kristoff was going to ask what was wrong between the two when Kai entered the foyer and said, "Her majesty can see you now!"
They were led into the throne room, where Elsa sat on a new white throne carved like a swan, which she had received as a gift from the King and Queen from the Kingdom of Corona.
"Tell your business with the queen!" Kai said to Nell.
She looked around at the gathered people in the room. She had never felt as alone as she felt right now, and she was nervous. She wondered if she could go through with this or if she would faint while everyone was watching.
She looked up at Queen Elsa.
Nell thought Elsa was probably one of the most beautiful women she had ever seen in her entire life. Elsa was not wearing her traditional dress, but she was wearing her snow queen outfit that made her look like a goddess.
Nell felt her throat go dry and she panicked. She would not be able to go through with this. It was because not only was she a stranger in this realm and really did not have a home anymore, but it was also because she always had been to men, but seeing the queen and her sister had made her realize that she was probably to both sexes.
"I am into men, but I did not know I wanted to be with women too. Damn it, Nell, stay focused!" she thought to herself.
"Are you at a loss for words, or have you not heard what was said? State your business or go!" Elsa said with a cold tone of voice.
Nell looked at Anna and noticed that she looked surprised at her sister's harshness.
Nell began to speak, "Your Majesty, I do not know you, and you do not know me, but what I am about to tell you, I want to tell you alone!"
The Queen looked at her and she seemed tired, and she said, "What you want to say to me, you can tell me in here. What is your name woman?"
"My name is Nell, your majesty."
Before she could go on, the Queen interrupted her, "You do not look like anyone from here Nell. Where are you from?"
"I am from Southern Isles your majesty."
Nell noted that it was very quiet in the throne room.
"A person from the Southern Isles," said Queen Elsa. "I will not do business with the Southern Isles, after the treatment my sister and I got from your people"
"That is not fair my queen. I had nothing to do with…"
"SILENCE!"
The throne room was quiet as a grave.
"I do not want to hear another word from you Nell, you got that! After all that my sister and I went through, you should feel lucky that you are not down in my dungeons!"
Nell knew she had to warn the queen, but she did not expect to be treated like an enemy like that, and she thought it would be better to just get out, simply because she did not have to deal with this.
"I am done here!" Nell said and turned around and started walking away.
"How much do I have to go through before I can finally get peace? My father and my mother are dead. I have been raped twice now by a prince as mad as a dog. I want to warn the Queen of Arendelle of an attack but is only met with shouting and insult after insult. Well, the queen, her kingdom and her sister can go screw themselves. I have had enough! I will not care if the kingdom of Arendelle is attacked by the Southern Isles!" she thought to herself.
"Nell, wait a second."
Nell turned around as Queen Elsa had spoken.
"Everyone leaves except Anna, Kai, Kristoff and Olaf!" the Queen demanded, and the throne room slowly emptied out.
After everyone else left, Queen Elsa spoke: "Listen Nell, I am sorry to yell at you like that, it is just that the whole incident with Hans is still something that is a clear memory in my mind. I apologize for shouting."
Nell knew she had a choice. She could walk out the door, feel sorry for herself, and let the Kingdom of Arendelle burn, or she could accept the Queen's apology and end the quest she had set out to do.
"Excuse me your majesty, but I need a drink now!"
"Kai, can you get me a bottle of..." Elsa began to say, but before she could finish her sentence, Nell said, "I want to drink a drink in an inn..."
Nell walked out of the castle feeling completely lost. She had not known what to expect from the queen, but it was too much compared to everything else that had gone on.
She needed more rest.
She remembered the day when she felt the warm sun on her face and a headache unlike anything she had experienced before. The lifeboat was not turned upside down by the angry waves of the sea, and the cloak she had received from Cliff had kept her warm enough.
When she woke up, she had been surprised that the boat had come ashore. She had been scared that she did not know where she was and for a moment, she thought the waves had brought her back to the Southern Isles.
Fortunately, that was not the case.
She had discovered that the cloak had an inner pocket, and that was where she kept Captain Cliff's logbook. She had to study it once when she got the chance. She seemed to have been stranded in an area where no human was in sight, and the sun was shining.
The sun shining on her face was like an energy source for her entire existence, and the warmth made her feel so alive again. She looked down, saw a small rock, and picked it up. It was a little flat. She kept her fingers busy feeling and studying the little rock as her mind raced in her head.
"I have a feeling I am no longer in the Southern Isles. It looks like I should just leave here!"
She dropped the stone and was soon on her way and after a while, she had met Kristoff.
As she stood outside the castle, she thought, "I wonder for a moment if things would have been different if I had not been on board the ship to begin with!"
She realized that she did not want Cliff's death to be in vain, so she swallowed Elsa's apology and immediately went back to the throne room, where she saw Elsa, Anna, Kristoff, Olaf, and Kai talking to each other.
They all fell silent when they saw Nell.
Without any introduction Nell said, "I need to talk about Hans."
Kai, who had been a professional servant all his life, seemed to have given her his full attention. It did not escape Elsa's attention. Anna looked as if someone had hit her with a sledgehammer, and Kristoff, who was drinking tea, coughed after getting the tea down in the wrong part of the throat.
"Strong reactions!" Nell thought to herself.
"So, what about him?" the Queen asked. "Has he received the punishment yet? We have not heard anything from the representative we sent to the Southern Isles."
"Where do you know Hans from?" Anna asked.
She did not want to reveal how she knew Hans, so instead she decided to handle the conversation a little more differently than she had originally imagined.
She said, "Queen Elsa, the reason you have not heard anything from the Southern Isles, is because there has been a coup."
Everyone would have been able to hear a needle hit the ground, so quiet had the room become. Nell noted that the temperature in the room dropped very quickly. She saw Anna look at her with a completely new interest than before.
"What are you saying? There has been a coup?" Anna asked.
"Yes, a new king has risen, and he is currently ruling over all of the Southern Isles."
"What has that to do with Hans?" Olaf asked. "He received his rightful punishment, did he not?"
"The thing is Olaf that Hans is no longer the prince of the Southern Isles. He is the king now, and he has a huge fleet at his disposal to attack this kingdom with, and the thing is the people of the Southern Isles like him better than they liked his father."
Chapter 36: Elsa: A New Problem
The cup of tea that Kristoff was holding exploded in his hands. He had held it so hard, when the news hit him, that Hans was the new king of the Southern Isles. Anna had hidden her face in her hands in a desperate attempt to hide her tears. Olaf almost took his own head off to throw it against the wall in fury.
Elsa felt a storm of emotion inside of her, anger, sadness, and the worst of them all: Fear.
She knew what Hans could do, and if he had become king of the Southern Isles, it would mean that Hans now controlled the largest navy of the five kingdoms, and something told her he would come after the throne of Arendelle next.
Just then, she realized that her kingdom was not strong enough to endure an attack from the Southern Isles, and although she had allies in the kingdom of Corona, she was still very doubtful about her kingdom's chances of survival.
After all, they were talking about Hans.
He was like a chameleon capable of learning from his mistakes, and now that he had the title of king, she knew he would plan, and that plan would be perfect down to the smallest detail. Now, even as Hans was as far away as he was, she could almost feel the pure evil coming from him.
Elsa was afraid for her kingdom and for her friends and Anna. Elsa began to wonder what would happen to Anna and herself if they were defeated and taken as prisoners.
"How could this come about?" Elsa asked herself.
That monster had tried to kill her and worst yet, he had left her sister to die and now he had become the king. It just was not fair to any of them.
Elsa looked at Nell and said, "Tell us from the start what you saw Nell."
"I hid in the village after escaping from Hans on a previous occasion."
"Sorry to interrupt you Nell, but what was the previous occasion you are talking about?" Anna asked.
Elsa noted that Nell would not talk about it, but Elsa repeated Anna's question.
"I used to work as a girl for the royal family in the Southern Isles and one day he tried to take advantage of me, but I managed to escape him before he could harm me."
She lied to Elsa and did not want to tell her the truth about the rape.
"He has probably had success with raping young women too!" Elsa thought to herself.
Why did that not come as a surprise to her?
Nell continued: "I realized that Hans could try to find me again and kill me, so I tried to hide among the villagers. When I realized I needed a lot of money to be able to board a ship, I stayed hidden, but eventually managed to find an inn where a bar girl was needed. The innkeeper told me I could work for him and I could make some money that way. However, after working there for a long time one day everything went wrong! I was in my room changing clothes when a brute stormed in and knocked me unconscious! When I woke up, the inn was burning!"
Elsa thought Nell seemed to be much stronger mentally than other people, including themselves. If Nell had really woken up in a burning building and she had obviously survived it, it only meant that Nell was a survivor and a force to be reckoned with.
Nell was still talking, "I managed to get down in the building and saw corpses lying around with no heads attached to them. I was planning on going to the harbor, but I could see a large crowd of people gathered near the castle entrance. Wooden crosses had been erected and King Walter and his wife and eleven of their sons had been crucified from them!"
No sounds came from the throne room after that revelation. The fact that the royal family had been crucified was pure evidence of Hans´s cruelty, but also of how barbaric the traditions of the Southern Isles were.
Elsa could hardly believe it!
She knew Nell was telling her the truth, but she found it hard to imagine that Hans would crucify people that way! Nobody did that in the five kingdoms. The last crucifixion took place three hundred years ago according to a history book she had read!
Nell continued, "Then the doors to the castle courtyard opened and Hans appeared! His laughter was loud and then he ordered all the crosses to be carried around the kingdom so people could spit on their bodies."
Elsa looked at the young woman. She could see Nell finding it difficult to continue her story. Elsa looked over at Anna. She could see that her sister was white in the face, and it looked like she was going to throw up. Kristoff noticed that too, and he tried holding Anna close to his body, but she pushed him off her.
Then Nell said, "The representative from this realm got and even worse punishment!"
Elsa's eyes immediately found Kai, who was no longer working as a professional, as he used to do.
"Kai, maybe you should leave now?" Elsa asked, but Kai insisted said, "No, I want to hear this, Your Majesty. I need to know what happened to Gerda. I need to know."
After many years of professional behavior as a royal servant, Kai began to crack. Elsa did not have to see it to know it, and her heart was bleeding with Kai's own heart.
"What happened to her, please tell me Nell?" Kai asked Nell with a voice shaking.
Nell continued: "Hans brought Gerda in front of the crowd and asked them what punishment they would like to see her receive. Almost everyone yelled that he should feed her to the dogs, so he released his dogs on her, then there was not much left of Gerda to be recognizable!"
Anna went down on all fours, and started puking. Kristoff looked as if all life had been drained from him, Olaf was destroyed, and Elsa hated.
She hated Hans for everything he was. She hated him for his cruelty. She hated him for being the disgusting monster he was. She hated him for being in her dreams together with that voice. At this point, it would not surprise her if Hans were somehow really connected to the voice that haunted her dreams.
She remembered that his eyes had lost their warmth in her dream. Maybe those dreams were really visions. The only one with a frozen heart was Hans and no one else!
Elsa lamented that she had shouted at Nell in the first place.
Hans had tried to take advantage of her, and she had escaped from a burning building and Elsa had shouted at her and called her deaf!
Elsa deeply regretted it, and she knew she had to make it up to Nell again.
Anna had finished puking and came up on her shaking legs again, where she said, "I need to sit down!"
"Use the throne, but do not get too comfortable with it!" Elsa said half smiling, half-serious, and that made Anna smile a little.
Elsa could always feel her body warm when she saw her sister happy. She looked at Kai and saw that he was not moving or talking at all, but Elsa knew he was struggling not to show his feelings! It would be a fight he would not win.
Nell continued: "Without money I could not escape the Southern Isles, but I still went to the port and headed for the ship "Whirlwind ", but when I boarded, I saw that all the crew members had been slaughtered, so I left the ship again and saw a man approach me. He was the captain of the ship "The Time Bandit." He told me I could get onboard and there was something about him telling me I could trust him. The ship was attacked by a storm and the captain, Cliff was his name, disappeared in the waves below. The crew had drowned, but I managed to get away in a lifeboat before the ship sank completely. I passed out but I was ashore when I woke up again. I started to walk and then I met Kristoff and now I am here."
Elsa had told Gerda to go with the fastest ship she could find, and not even the crewmembers had been spared Hans´s wrath, and the more she thought about it, the more she hated Hans.
Kai turned to Elsa: "Please, your majesty, I need to be alone right now!"
Elsa's heart broke and cried with Kai. He was a gentle soul that had suffered deep wounds that could never heal.
"Hans, you will pay for this. I swear if that is the last thing I do, you will pay for hurting us!" she said to herself.
"That will be all for today!" Elsa said and walked over to Kai, took his hands in hers and walked out of the throne room with him.
Once outside that room, his eyes turned to waterfalls as he fell to his knees. Elsa wrapped her arms around him and held him close in a warm embrace.
"I am so sorry your majesty. I am so unprofessional, I know!"
"Do not say such a thing, Kai. You are also part of my family. You and Gerda are family. You and Gerda were the ones who raised us after our parents died when their ship was swallowed by the waves!"
It was the pure truth. Her father had told her, that is was all going to be fine that day her parents had left for the Kingdom of Corona. However, their vessel was lost at sea and she and Anna would never see their parents again.
Kai and Gerda had taken care of them ever since. The sisters had felt that they had become replacement parents as Kai and Gerda were closest to the real family they had. Kai and Gerda had taught her how to perform her various tasks, Gerda was the one who had taught Elsa how to read and write and had taught her about literature and the history of the five kingdoms, and now she was gone, murdered by a maniac.
The door to the throne room opened and Anna appeared. Elsa signaled for her to come over to them and join them in the hug. Anna did that and in that corridor, the three of them hugged and cried for Gerda, whom they would never see again.
Elsa knew that this would mean war, and that was if she wanted one or not. She knew that Hans, being the sick, dangerous individual he was, were going to make the first move and he already had done so. By taking over the Southern Isles, he had gotten the status of a king.
Now, Hans had already seen what she could do with her powers, when she had been so confused after having escaped her prison cell, so he would be able to take some of her power into account when forming a plan.
This was no doubt a plan for an invasion and no matter what happened, Elsa started to fear the results if Arendelle had to go to war.
Though she was angry with Anna she did not want to see her hurt, and that came to Kai, Kristoff, and Olaf as well.
She had to be the strong one, and she could not show weakness. All that she had learned today had come from Nell, and Elsa thought that Nell deserved a reward for her actions.
She looked at Anna and said, "When you have the time Anna, go tell Nell that I allow her to stay here until further notice. I must be a gracious host, given the fact that she has gone through a lot to give us this information. If Hans wants pain, he will get the pain."
Chapter 37: Hans: The Smell Of Fear
Hans and Miko wandered through the harbor where the large fleet of Southern Isles lay dormant, ready to be awakened by the call for war.
"Two hundred battleships. Two hundred battleships ready for an attack on Arendelle!" Hans said with a smile on his face. "You can tell your master that I will have built more for a total war against Arendelle!"
"My master is pleased with your progress," Miko said, looking at the impressive collection of warships.
"The guns on the ships have been replaced by some new ones, which fire powers can penetrate every building and every wall. I am sure they will come in handy when the time comes! There is something I am very worried about."
"What would that be?"
"The last time I was in Arendelle, the royal monster froze the entire fjord, freezing several of the ships in thick layers of ice."
"And what's your point if I might ask?"
"Well, how should I act if the same thing happens again? If my soldiers climb down from their ships and runs on the ice to attack Arendelle, Elsa will just be able to thaw the ice again and my men will drown in the ice-cold waters!"
"Do not worry about it, Hans! There is another thing, according to my lord; Elsa knows that you have become the new king of these Isles!"
Hans was shocked!
"That makes a surprise attack totally useless!" he said.
"Yes and another thing is that Elsa has to travel for a certain birthday, far away from the castle!"
"She would never do that. She is not that stupid!"
"Yes, she is, but her sister is not! The fact is that Elsa will be gone for some time. My master has already sown seeds of dissatisfaction among the royal family members and friends of Arendelle. They will do what he wants them to do!"
"You mean to say the master is in Arendelle now?"
"He is everywhere and nowhere Hans, and he is doing his job to make your attacks easier!"
"I do not want to take over Arendelle. I want to ruin it with my bare hands! I want to tear Anna's heart out myself and I will look in her eyes triumphantly and let her know I won, and her sister could not save her!"
"This reminds me that a change of plans has taken place!"
Hans looked at Miko, whose face did not reveal one of his thoughts.
"Initially, Elsa's powers were to be used by my master, but according to him, her power is not fully developed yet! He thinks her ultimate potential will be unlocked when she has nothing to lose!"
"What are you trying to say?"
"I am trying to say that the destruction of Arendelle and its people, Anna and the rest of Elsa's friends will definitely give Elsa a frozen heart, and when she is given to you Hans, the Master demands that you turn her to our side! In this way, he believes that her powers will be developed to such an extent that it is for the purpose for which it was originally designed!"
"What is this purpose?" Hans asked feeling a bit confused."
"I do not know that myself, and that is because that is all we need to know right now."
They saw several workers filling a ship with cannonballs.
"Well, I will go back to the castle. Come and find me in the castle if you have any questions." Miko said and walked away.
Hans had thousands of them and all about this change of plans. He watched as Miko left him, and he looked around the harbor and saw the people preparing for battle, and he continued to walk towards the harbor's edge, looking out on the horizon with a high expectation that he would win the battle that was to happen in the not-so-distant future.
He wondered if Elsa was doing the same thing he was doing now. He had thought he would have the element of surprise on his side, but now he had not, and he should have been angry about it, but he felt full of confidence so much so that he knew he would win.
He had been thinking about Elsa for several days, and he remembered the first time that he had met her at the coronation celebration. He had noticed the high, calm character she had been during the celebration, and he knew immediately that he would not stand a chance with her.
Her sister Anna, however, had been another thing. She had been such a desperate little girl longing for love, and he had no problem in forging his love for her. He admitted to himself that she did not deserve it, but then again, he was not the sentimental type, so he did what he wanted to do if it gave him more power.
It had turned out that Elsa had put up a brave facade, but she had really been a frightened little girl who had tried so desperately to hide her powers from the world and Hans could not stop admiring her for how well she had done it.
"I admire a monster! I am going crazy now!" he thought to himself.
Hans admitted to himself that when he was on his mission to retrieve Elsa from her ice castle, he had for a few seconds the first time he saw her in her ice dress, been thinking that she was the most beautiful person he had ever laid his eyes on.
She still had to die so he could be king of Arendelle. Now he was going to destroy Arendelle, and now Elsa did not need to die, not yet at least.
"Do not be the monster they fear you are!" he remembered saying to her.
Elsa could be a brave young and innocent woman, and he doubted destroying everything she held dear would turn her to his side.
He doubted it very much.
"What if I made her destroy it all herself?" he asked himself. "Would that be any help?"
Then he got a brilliant idea that made him laugh aloud, so all the workers in the harbor looked at him with fear in their eyes.
"That is the way!" he said aloud. "That is how I should do it!"
He left the harbor, went straight to the castle, and went straight to the bedroom. In the room stood a table and on it there was some parchment. Using a feather, which he dipped in ink, which was placed next to the feather, he began to write.
He wrote his scheme down on the parchment, adding more details along the way. He knew how to turn Elsa to his side, and he knew how to do it fast!
He got up from the chair and found Miko standing in the rose garden by the mermaid sculpture.
"Do your master know when Elsa will be leaving Arendelle?" he asked Miko.
"He does not have an exact date yet, but Queen Elsa will be at the celebration for the Sultan's son."
"When you have the exact time Miko, I want you to tell me when it is!"
"I will tell when I know it then!"
"Does your master speak to you in your mind?" Hans asked, but he already knew the answer.
"Yes, he does it the same way he speaks to you. However, it cost him energy to do so, so it can take several days without him giving me an order. But soon Hans, we will attack Arendelle, and that woman will be within our grasp!"
Hans thought a little, but then he said,"I did not know you hated the queen so much! Why do you hate her so much?"
"That is something I do not want to talk about!" Miko snapped.
"Enough is enough!" Hans said, pulling out his sword, holding the pointed end a few inches from Miko's neck. "Next time you talk to me like that again, I will show you how dangerous I can be, do you understand that Miko? Do not think for a second that the master cares if you die, for he will still have me and I am pretty sure, that if I cut your throat right here and right now, he will not give you a second thought!"
Miko did not blink, but looked at Hans, who found it hard to guess what Miko was thinking at that moment.
"I thought so Miko. When it comes down to it, you are nothing special!"
Hans put his sword back in its sheath and went into the throne room. His dogs were near the throne, but as soon as they saw him, they immediately got up.
"Good boys!" Hans said.
That he had also thought while they were in the middle of tearing Gerda apart before he saw Nell! After the dogs finished, the frightened villagers knew who their king was. Then he had raped Nell again, but the farmer had stopped him, but the farmer had not been a match for Hans, and now the farmer slept with the mermaids.
Nell had fled from him, and Hans was still angry because of it. The day after this incident, a soldier brought a man before him who had tried to rebel against Hans but had been captured as a result!
Hans had thought to himself that if he killed everyone who talked badly about him, the problem of rebellion could get worse, so he decided to do something completely different.
Instead, he had built a labor camp and forced his prisoners to dig for gold and diamonds and rubies. When all trade had ceased with Arendelle, he had to find other ways to make money for the kingdom, so he might as well just have his prisoners dig for wealth.
If a pregnant woman was sent to a labor camp, the guards were ordered to injure her in such a way that her child died. Hans did not believe that children raised by rebels would be good and loyal people, so he decided to kill them while they were still in their mother's wombs.
He had seen it for himself, which process was being used to accomplish this honorable task.
A woman had been convicted of treason and was sent to a labor camp. She was six months pregnant. She was led into a dark room, and Hans had entered it shortly after.
"Make sure her seeds do not become a problem in the future!" he had said to one of the guards.
"No, I am asking you for mercy. Do not hurt my child, I am begging you!"
Hans did not care for her.
The guard had been swift and brutal.
He had kicked her in the stomach, so hard that she immediately fell to the floor, and then he had kicked her five times more, so the blood started to flow out of her vagina. She had been unconscious; when they gave her a cesarean section and removed the dead baby in her.
While the woman was lying in a pool of her own blood, Hans left the room without looking back, knowing that this was one of the ways, which he could gain control over the population.
Fear.
Shortly after, he had guards stationed in the harbor, and they had to make sure no ship left it. Soon enough, his entire kingdom had become a hermit kingdom. Hans commanded that every man, woman, and child should be trained to be a part of his army, and he soon found the army having grown four times in a few days.
He ordered them all to start building new ships, resulting in the port being expanded several times in a few days. If a person tried to take a break, he would have them sent to the break rooms, which today are called "Death's Dormitory" by the people.
Hans sat on his throne, feeling completely at peace with himself as he thought about his aggressive military expansion, but his thoughts continued to circulate around a young queen with platinum blonde hair.
"A monster was what she was and always would be," he told himself.
He could not wait to put his hands on her!
Chapter 38: Kasim: The Diary
He had been in a bad mood for the last couple of days. He had the feeling that nothing was going right, and that there were trouble brewing within the capital, that he could not see, but he knew were there.
He had taken guards with him as they had ridden as fast as they could to Arif´s home, hoping to find the body of Zerah. Instead, they walked in and found Arif stone cold dead in a corner, bleeding from a wound in his neck and the body of Zerah were nowhere to be seen.
They searched the house everywhere, but they could not find it, and when they had left the building with the corpse of Arif, Kasim was coming down with a headache.
"This is bad!" he had thought to himself as he looked around his surroundings, but there was nothing out of the ordinary to see.
They buried Arif in the desert sand, an offering to the sand God, and now as he was sitting alone in his own chambers and looked outside and down upon the city, the headache had not gone away. He was thinking about the situation with Arif.
The most logical explanation was that Arif had already sacrificed the body of Zerah, and the corpse now rested beneath the desert sand. Someone with a hatred of Arif or a robbery gone badly had gotten him killed. If it were not the wound, that had done it, then it would have been all the blood, which had poured out of him and down on to the floor.
The insane idea he had, were not be so insane considering all that had taken place. Zerah had told him that it was not going to work.
Would this mean that the hanging did not work, and was Zerah still alive after she had been hung?
The body had been examined and she had been confirmed dead, so it was just not possible!
Then again, if the shadow of this mysterious enemy had pushed his little brother to his death, then maybe Zerah was not dead at all. The more he thought about it, there had been no signs of an actual break in. The door had not been forced open, so either Arif had customers, or knew the people he was with, or a dead corpse killed him.
All of this was unnatural.
"Why are all of these things happening to us!" he thought to himself.
There was a knock on the door.
"Come in!" he said and faced the door.
It was Abdallah, head of his father's security and commander of the peacekeepers, guards there were placed around the capital and kept the peace and tasted his food and wine.
He spoke: "My prince, I have just come directly from your father. There has been another murder and we have just informed him about it. I am under orders to guard and protect you."
"Guard and protect my father Abdallah, for I am going to this murder scene myself unless it has been cleaned?"
"It has not been cleaned yet, my prince."
"Then follow me Abdallah."
They walked side by side to the throne room and stood before his father.
His father spoke: "Son, I know what you are going to ask, but I want you to stay in the palace until further notice."
"I really want to investigate this scene myself; it may give us an idea who did it, and it could be that the murder of Arif is connected to this new crime."
His father looked at him for some time, but then he said, "Okay, but take some guards with you. I want to have this serial killer found as soon as possible!"
He took some guards with him and Kasim soon found himself at the house were a person lay dead and he could see that many ordinary citizens were watching the guards going in and outside the house, and he heard whispers from them saying: "I have never seen a crime like that. It was a woman he was with; if he was with a man his soul is burning up now, for we do not give our God trash like that."
The guards and citizens bowed as he rode forward on his horse. He was a young seventeen soon to be eighteen-year-old man, and he looked good as he came riding on his black horse. He reached the house and went over to the guard that seemed to be in charge.
"So, I understand there has been a murder here, how bad is it?
"It is bad my prince. I have never seen a murder like this before."
"Show me!"
They walked into the room and the first thing that hit him was the smell. It was the smell of death and rot, and he could smell it long before he could see the body. Kasim were trying to train himself to be a leader, and that was the reason he himself went to those places where there were bound to be trouble, but seeing what had happened to the good doctor, was something he had not prepared himself for.
The doctor Akeem had been laying in a pool of his own blood for at least a couple of days, and the body had started to smell and bloat in the heat. It was not a remarkable sight.
By the looks of it he had been stabbed on the bed, pushed over it, and had been laying on the floor ever since.
Why would anyone kill the doctor?
To Kasim´s knowledge, the doctor had been a good man, without any enemies and still, someone had ruthlessly killed him.
He said, "Here lies a doctor and a good man, but is there any sign of a motive, is there anyone that has been here that recognizes something as stolen?"
One of the guards said: "I have checked the closet, where he used to keep his dried herbs for medicinal purposes. They seem to be missing or he just ran out of it."
Another guard said, "I know for a fact that the doctor always got a fresh supply, but him having run out of so many of the herbs, I think those herbs have been taken."
"Did anyone in here know if he had a significant other?"
Another guard said: "I do not think he had one. Should we look for evidence of that?"
"I found something over here!" another guard said and Kasim went over to him.
It was a black book and it looked like a diary.
Kasim opened it and read the latest entry in it.
"I must admit I feel that my heart is beating faster when I see her. How when she turns around and bends over, I am certain the way she shows her ass, tells me that she wants me, and yet when I lean in to kiss her, she gets out of reach, and then leans over and playfully kisses me. She has wrapped me around her little finger, and new thoughts clouds my mind. I have a feeling that she is playing with me. She allows me to touch her, but she never allows me to make any true move with her, to become one with her. She is in this way the cruelest of all fates for I cannot say no to her, even though she is poison running through my veins, and my mind as well. I should never have met her, never have taken her in. I thought about asking her to go, yet every time I am in the room with her, and I want to ask her to leave, she touches me, and I feel my thoughts disappear like the morning dew. I do not know what she does, but I have a sense of dread. I fear that she is not all normal. She is a dark enchantress and I know it is the way she looks at me. It is as if she can sense all my thoughts in my mind, and when they go against her, she walks over and kisses me, and I want her to stay. I think I am a prisoner in my own home. I awoke in the night, and she was talking in her sleep, when she was dreaming, and I could not understand what she was saying. It just sounded like noises, but there seemed to have been some order to those sounds, almost as if she was talking a long dead and forgotten language. I was thinking I was to get on top of her and strangle her, and almost silently, she turned around in the bed, her eyes wide open and fanatically looking and smiling at me, and she said to me that there was no reason to wanting to strangle her. She touched me and I passed out. When I awoke, she was on top of me sitting where my penis is located and as she groped herself against me, she had her hands around my head, and the same fanatical eyes were looking down on me. Madness, madness I say for I swear on my soul for the sand God, that in that moment I saw red eyes where her eyes used to be, and I saw white sharp teeth and a face not her own, just beneath the surface of her own. I passed out again, woke up to her walking around in my home, and said good morning to me, and she said, that I had turned around in the bed quite a few times that night. Was all that just a dream? It just seemed so real, and now she is like the sweetest person one could imagine. I am sure it was just a nightmare, but something tells me it is not. I should not had let that witch Zerah into my home, for she is going to be the death of me, I just know it. May all God's help me, I am trapped."
Kasim never changed his facial expression as he read the diary, but within himself, he was a storm of emotions. This diary proved that she was still alive. Zerah was out there somewhere, and maybe she was still in the capital hiding herself from the world.
"Guards, I want you to take to body outside and throw it in a grave, a gift for the sand God. When all of you are done with that, I want all section leaders of the guards to meet up with me at the palace, for I have a mission for all of you, and I will be needing all of you for this one."
When that was done, the section leaders met up at the palace and went into the throne room, were the sultan was holding court. Scheherazade was there as well.
Kasim said, "Honorable sultan and queen listen to my words for I have much to tell. We have searched through Doctor Akeem´s house, and we have learned a lot. We know for a fact that even though we hung Zerah by the neck and she died, this diary I hold here in my hands, tells us the Zerah is still alive."
His mother covered her mouth in shock and his father leaned over in his chair.
"How is that possible?" he asked.
"I believe that dark forces is behind this, and I believe that Zerah is still hiding in the capital. This diary, I have a lot of theories when it comes to what is written in it, but what I do know for sure is, that this Zerah seems to be targeting us, the royal family, and these are for reasons unknown to us right now."
Kasim turned and faced his section leaders and said, "Therefore, I have summoned you all here today. If Zerah is still alive, she is probably hiding somewhere in our capital. You will tell the guards that they are to go house to house and search everywhere you can. We will be making a law that anyone hiding Zerah will be executed on the spot. We must find Zerah and stop her, as she is deeply connected to dark magic. Only by stopping her can this kingdom know peace again!"
Chapter 39: Nell: A Secret Revealed
Nell looked in the mirror and did not know what to think. As a reward for telling Elsa about his takeover of the Southern Isles, she was given a room in the castle where she could spend some nights, as the queens honored guest.
She stood in front of the mirror and was as naked as the day she entered the world, and she could not stop looking at her stomach. At first, she had not noticed anything out of the ordinary, but she had given it some thought, and now it seemed as if her worst fears had been confirmed.
Though there were no signs of it, she could feel it in her very soul that she was pregnant, and she had no doubt in her mind about who the child's father was.
"Hans, I pray you will never come to meet that monster little one!" she said, placing her right hand on her stomach as if the child could hear what she said.
She had thought several times about getting into an accident that would result in a miscarriage, but she always changed plans. It was not the kid's fault that it was the dad, whom was a crazy man.
The thing about her being pregnant was that it was easy to hide, for the baby inside of her was not big, so it was easy to pretend that she was not pregnant. Nell did not know much about Elsa, but by the way she had acted during the throne room meeting, Nell knew Elsa hated Hans, and Nell did not know how Elsa would react if she knew she was pregnant with Hans´s child.
She had told Elsa that Hans had assaulted her, and she had fought back, but that was not the whole truth! Nell had not told Elsa, Anna, or anyone else that she had been raped, and Nell really did not know what to do.
She could not hide the fact that she was pregnant forever.
"It was not the child's fault!" she had told herself, but she found it hard to imagine that she could ever love a child conceived by rape.
Nell thought it would be better if she gave birth to the baby and then left the baby on someone else's door, but every time she thought of doing that, she felt like the lowest of the lowest of scum, even lower than Hans, and it made her cry.
"I must be strong," she thought to herself. "Maybe I can love this kid, but only time can tell if I can or not!"
There was a knock on her door.
"Who is it?"
"It is Anna, do you have clothes on?"
"No, just a minute!" Nell quickly put on her green sparkly dress and a minute later, she was ready.
"I am looking good enough!" she said to herself, and she opened the door to the corridor.
Anna stood in front of her, and she did not look happy at all.
"May I enter?" Anna asked with a voice that gave Nell chills.
"It is not my castle, please come in!"
Anna sat down in a chair and watched Nell's every move. Nell was sure that Anna was trying to get as much information as she could without saying a single word to her. Although Nell was standing right here in the middle of the room with a green dress on, she was sure Anna was looking right through it, and suddenly Nell felt fear!
"I want to talk to you about something." Anna said in a low voice.
Nell felt very uneasy.
"How did you meet Kristoff?" Anna asked her.
"I met him at a trade site with a sauna. When he found out I was heading to the castle, he asked me if I wanted to come with him and a few hours later we came here, but why would you want to know this if I may ask?"
Anna did not respond at first, but then she said, "Nell, even though your baby cannot truly be seen yet, I know that you are pregnant!"
Nell's heart was trying to leave her chest and her mouth was completely dry.
"I was wondering if you are Kristoff's lover and I just want you to tell me the truth!" Anna said, getting up from her chair.
"No, I am not his lover; I first met him at that trade post with the sauna!"
"So, if that is the truth, then the kid you are carrying would be Hans´s, am I right?"
Nell felt like sticking her head in the ground!
"Yes, it is." she said, feeling tears welling up in her eyes.
"You have said that you had been attacked by Hans and that you managed to get away, and I was wondering if you told the whole truth or just a part of it. These days, Queen Elsa cannot be careful enough, and I began to wonder if you just came here to help with an invasion by infiltrating us!"
"I would never help Hans with that! I swear on my life."
Anna walked over to her and before Nell could respond, Anna was hugging her tightly and it felt like she was not going to let her go.
"If you hate Hans so much, then that means your child was not really conceived in an act of true love, am I right?"
Nell tried to force the words out of her mouth, but all she could do was let the tears flow. It was the first time someone had hugged her in a long time, and Nell felt like she was really in a safe place.
"I have to talk to the Queen about this Nell, but you do not have to worry at all. Elsa would never dream of hurting a child. Not even if it is the child of her enemy!"
Nell felt more relaxed.
"My princess," she said, "I can never thank you enough for being so kind to me!"
"Please Nell, call me Anna. Do you want to be a servant girl in this castle? This way you will get food and a place to live."
"I want to be that Anna, and I will work hard."
"Just make sure you do not get stressed or anything. It is bad for the baby. Do you know what you want to call the baby?"
"If it is a boy, his name will be Eivind. I do not know what to call the child if it is a girl, but I wondered if I could love this child when it was conceived through rape."
Anna looked at her with a serious look on her face.
"Either you can or not, and if it is the latter, then I think it would be best for you to never tell the child that you are its mother, so Elsa and I will make sure the child is raised in this castle. Is that a plan my friend?"
Nell agreed with the plan. All her problems would be solved, and she would be eternally grateful to the sisters.
"What you both want from me; I will give you!" she said and sounded like a fanatic as she said it.
Nell was surprised when Anna kissed her on the forehead and said; "Everything is going to be fine", then she left the room and left Nell with her own thoughts.
She was about to find another dress when there was another knock on her door.
"Who is it?" she asked.
There was no answer. Then there was another knock.
"Just two seconds." and she walked over to the door, opened it, and found herself staring into the eyes of a hunchback.
Both his eyes had different colors. His right eye was red and his left yellow. Both eyes looked scary to Nell. Every single part of his face was ugly to look at. His ears were different sizes, and on his forehead, he had a deep scar.
"Hello, my friend," the hunchback said in a low serious voice. "I just wanted to hear how you are doing, for you are the newcomer."
"I am good sir; I have not met you yet."
"I spend most of my time in the castle library. My name is Tamas, and I am the Queen's personal doctor."
"It is good to meet you Tamas. I must say everything is to my satisfaction."
"May I come in?" he said, and Nell showed him the way in.
Nell thought this man was the scariest person she had ever seen before. Tamas´s face looked like it had been hit with a shovel, but Nell dared to believe that Tamas´s knowledge and secrets were vast and many.
He said, "So girl, what is your name?"
"My name is Nell."
"I bet your parents called you Nellie, is that correct?"
He was correct. Her father used to call her Nellie, but that was before the roof had come down on top of him.
"You are right Tamas. My father used to call me that. It was a very good guess, I must say!"
"Well, it was a good guess, but I think you have at least one sibling?"
"You are correct again!" Nell said and she began to think that Tamas was one of the people she had to be careful around, for he had an easy time seeing trough people.
"Forgive me for asking so much Nell, but I only want to learn a little bit about you so I can get a clearer picture of what kind of person you are, so I hope you do not mind me asking questions?"
"Not at all…!" Nell answered and felt a little tense.
"What are your family members called?"
"It does not matter. They are all dead now anyway, maybe except for my sister Anita."
Tamas was quiet as he looked at her and Nell began to wonder why he was suddenly silent.
"Let us talk about something else. Are you hungry?"
"No, but I thank you for asking."
"I thought you were hungry since you were pregnant."
"By all Gods, how did he know about that?" she asked herself.
She did not even look pregnant.
"How did you know I was…?"
"Dear child, do I really look that stupid to you? Because I can assure you that if there is one thing I am not, then that is stupid!"
"I have not even called..."
"But you thought that you could deceive me, but it does not matter. Hans attacked you and I take it that you are pregnant with his child. Do not look at me like that; it is painfully obvious that this child of yours is his!"
Nell said, "How dare you call..."
"I dare Nell because you are carrying the child of the man who is an enemy of this kingdom and if you think for a moment that Elsa wants to let your child live, you can think again!"
"But Anna..."
"Anna does not know what she is talking about at all, and you are pathetically naive to think for a moment that Elsa will be merciful to your unborn child, for she will not be. That child will have questions about his family, and I predict that one day you will reveal it to him. The child travels to his father and swears loyalty to him!"
"I need to get the guards now!" Nell almost yelled at Tamas.
"Go ahead and do it and your child loses its life as a result. You will also lose your life for keeping the baby a secret from the queen, so please go on."
Nell wanted to scream at Tamas, but what if he was telling the truth?
"Right now, Nell, you are in trouble! I suggest you keep a low profile for now, that is the advice I can give you for now!"
Then he left the room.
Nell walked over to the mirror, slowly fell to her knees and then she cried.
"What have I ever done to deserve this?" she asked herself, but then she began to ask herself, "Why did Tamas go silent when I mentioned the name Anita?
Chapter 40: Anna: The Will Of The Queen
Anna was walking down a set of corridors and she was thinking deeply about how to break the news to Elsa, that Nell was pregnant, and this child was Hans's child. Anna believed that Elsa would understand and together with Anna, raise the child within the castle walls.
There was only one person in the throne room when Anna entered it.
Elsa was sitting high and mighty on her throne, and she looked as if she were thinking deeply about something. Anna and Elsa had not talked about the incident in Elsa's room yet, but it seemed like the perfect time to start.
Tamas´s words were still in Anna's head, so she decided to approach the subject carefully. After all, she did not want to start a war with her sister. Nell's child depended on it and Anna would not let Nell down. That woman had already gone through enough.
Anna started by saying, "Hi Elsa, how are you?"
She could immediately see that Elsa was in a bad mood.
"Listen Elsa, I want to apologize for the incident in your private chambers," Anna said.
Elsa, not so much as moved, which made Anna nervous. She could feel the temperature in the room go down.
"Well, that was a way of revealing her displeasure," Anna thought to herself.
She really felt sorry for her, but Tamas´s words kept ringing in her ears that her sister might have gone crazy. Dealing with crazy people would be like dealing with a powder keg that could easily explode, and Anna did not want that to happen.
Anna started to freeze, and then she said, "Enough Elsa, I have already apologized, do not make it worse than it already is."
She could see Elsa blink very quickly as the temperature in the room became even lower and Anna began to think she had to get out of the throne room! It was too cold! Suddenly, the temperature in the room rose again, and Elsa slowly rose from her throne and slowly walked over to Anna. Elsa was wearing her Snow Queen outfit, which still to this day; made Anna awe at the beauty of her sister who seemed to be out of this world.
She stood in front of Anna and then she said, "I am sorry Anna. Whether you remember it or not, I have been thinking about what you said to me at the time, and I apologize to you too!"
Anna could not remember anything, but she let the queen go on. Nell's child depended on it.
"I did not know you felt that way about that giant ice order the Sultan ordered, but rest assured you will never be alone again Anna. I think that until this order is completed, you will not get to see Kristoff that much. With that said, I will make sure to give him some time off, so you can spend some time with him. Is that okay with you?"
Anna thought about what Elsa would do with Kristoff, while they were in Tehomia. She could still hear the conversation she had with Tamas about "the friendship" between Elsa and Kristoff.
"I am okay with that. Thank you, Elsa. There is another thing we need to talk about."
"And what is the matter, if I may ask?"
Anna needed to tell her about Hans´s child without involving Nell.
"I heard rumors on the streets today. It seems that Hans may have become a father!"
Elsa's face was unreadable to Anna, and it made her wonder what Elsa was thinking at that moment.
"Well, if that is just a rumor, then there is nothing to worry about!" Elsa said.
"But what if the rumor is true?" Anna asked.
She had to be careful not to involve Nell and herself for that matter.
"I guess the apple does not fall far from the tree Anna, which is the only thing I can say about that, but what a fool would ever dream of having a kid with that crazy man?"
"I do not know Elsa. I simply do not know."
Anna knew what Elsa was thinking about that child. She had to be even more careful now. She did not want Elsa to call her a traitor to the kingdom of Arendelle and get her executed, but right now Anna had to learn more about her sister's thoughts.
Suddenly Elsa said, "I want to get my hands on that child! Using that child as an advantage is one of the few ways we can survive if Hans dares to attack us. If I freeze the fjord again, it should make an attack from the Sea useless. I need to get in touch with the Kingdom of Corona and ask them for help, so that Arendelle can resist an attack!"
Anna had gotten the answer she wanted. The Queen would not be good to the child but would use it as leverage. Anna's brain worked hard to try to find a way to protect Nell. If Nell had just said she was from the Southern Isles, there would have been no problem, but when she mentioned that she had been in contact with Hans to get the queen to listen to her, since Elsa now regarded people from the Southern Isles as enemies, Nell had put her child and her own life at risk!
The queen did not know that Nell was pregnant, and Anna knew she had to protect Nell and her unborn child, but if she did, Elsa would probably label her a traitor to the kingdom of Arendelle. If that happened, it was most likely that Anna would be hung within a few hours of being labeled a traitor!
"You are right Elsa! I am sure it is just rumor!"
Elsa sat down on her throne again.
"Yeah, it is probably just a wild rumor!" Elsa said, looking down at her sister.
Anna did not know what to think of Elsa. Anna had always seen her sister as a kind and strong woman, but now it was as if Anna saw her with different eyes and she did not like what she saw. Maybe Anna was just the naive girl who thought the only thing needed in every situation was a little bit of love.
The love between sisters.
She thought of Tamas´s words again. He had told her that he suspected that Elsa was going insane because of her abilities. For every minute that passed, Anna began to agree with him. Although she did not trust Tamas fully, he had given no reason to suspect otherwise.
Right now, Tamas was probably the only one who was trustworthy!
Anna had to be safe, so she asked, "You really would not use a child against Hans, would you?"
"Anna, you are not the queen here. Sometimes the rulers must do some things that are not to be proud of for the sake of the people! Our enemies' children are not our children and if we are to hold them as hostages or kill them, yes, I will do it for my people! I hope I never have to, but if Hans had a child and I got my hands on it, then that child would suffer for the sins of its father if that must happen. There is no more to discuss about it!"
Anna knew there was politics involving the four other kingdoms and preparing for a war, and she knew that if she were Queen of Arendelle, she would not have been able to hurt an innocent child, for she thought that this was a depraved act. She did not expect her sister to be the kind of person who could do it with a blink of an eye.
"Maybe it was really just me being naive enough to think life is a dance on roses, but I never wanted to do the things Elsa can do when it comes to making such decisions!" Anna thought to herself.
For the first time in her life, Anna feared her sister!
"Well, I will see you later Elsa, I am going to the royal stables."
"Oh, are you going for a ride?"
"Yeah, and I expect to be back again this afternoon."
The truth was it was just an excuse to get out of the throne room and away from Elsa. Anna had never experienced her sister like this, and Elsa's mood was a big concern for Anna. Elsa had told her about the time that Hans and the Duke's men had stormed her iceberg, and Anna had learned that the ice, which Elsa had created, had turned red when she was angry.
Anna would not admit it, but Elsa could probably do more damage to her own people then the Southern Isles could ever do, and now Anna noticed that she was walking around with thoughts that would suggest betrayal.
She thought it would have been better that Elsa was not the queen. What if Elsa lost control completely again?
It was a fear that continued to grow inside Anna, and even though she was trying to block that fear, what then?
Elsa was her sister and Elsa would never hurt her, but then she thought about how far Elsa was prepared to go to save Arendelle. It made Anna ask herself if it would be a good idea to find another kingdom to live in and take Nell with her, or should they both just stay in the castle right under Elsa's nose?
Anna questioned herself, "Why am I so obsessed with helping that woman? It is betrayal, but why do I want to help her so much?"
Anna knew the answer to these questions.
She was upset with all the things Nell had gone through. Nell was a young woman who had been raped and abused, which is why Nell had come to Arendelle in the hopes of finding safety, but instead she was now in danger!
As long as Elsa did not know anything about Nell's pregnancy, Nell was out of danger, but if Elsa discovered the truth…
Anna could not finish that thought.
Anna had come outside and approached the stables where she saw Kevin and his wife Isa hugging each other tightly, as if neither of them wanted to let the other go again.
Anna thought about Kevin and Isa.
After the death of their child, they had not tried to make another, and Anna doubted that they would have the idea of ever trying for another again, but Anna had not asked them about it.
Not only would it be extremely inappropriate, but also it was not her business to find out what Kevin and Isa were thinking.
Kevin and Isa got off each other as soon as they saw Anna approaching them.
"Hello Kevin, Isa, how are you today?" Anna asked.
"We are good, thank you very much!" Kevin and Isa answered.
"Are the horses ready to ride?"
"Yes, they are Princess Anna; I have taken good care of them!" Kevin responded, giving Isa a kiss on her cheek.
Isa's cheeks turned red, and Anna could not stop smiling about it when she saw it happen.
It was good to see that the love between these two had never deteriorated but had become so much stronger.
"If I may ask, where are you going Princess Anna?" Isa asked.
"I want to ride for the hills Isa. I need to clear my mind; I need to think about things!"
"Do you want me to go with you?" Isa asked. "It will not be any trouble at all escorting you!"
"Well, I thank you Isa. Yes, I could use someone to talk to."
They got up on the horses, they started riding, and Anna thought to herself, "Maybe it was a better idea just to take Nell and send her to the Black Box and out of reach of Queen Elsa. Then again the prisoners and the Syndicate would be tearing Nell apart if she was ever sent in there, and when Anna thought about it, that was not the best idea!"
