Jonathan found himself floating over Boston again. Feeling the beautiful yellow sun shining on his skin. The tight suit with the house of El crest, the cape and the boots he all wore with pride…
And then he start to fly around the city. People cheering! Calling him Superboy! Applauding him! Jonathan only flew around. Even seeing his old friends again. And then there was him: Superman! He flew next to him with stretched out arms and gave him a thumb-up!
"Well done my son!" Superman said.
"Thank you!" Jonathan said while they flew high up into the sky and into space.
But suddenly he got tossed around by something that was faster than him and this other boy in the Superman suit appeared.
"What are you doing here? I am the true heir!" he said mockingly with Zeta-Rho's voice and tore off the crest from Jon's suit…
In horror, Jon wanted to scream while he starts to fall out of the sky. Over him his father and his supposed brother. Both not daring to help or to catch him. And Jon fell towards the ground at high-speed feeling more lost than ever…
When Jon opened his eyes, he realized that he was back in Argo City. He never left the place, as it was just a dream. He was in the diagnosis-scanner. Obviously, he became sick, and they got him to the doctor. A tear ran down his face at the thought of what he had lost.
One hour later, Jon was back with Uncle Zor, Aunt Alura and Kara in his and Kara's apartment where they talked about the scan result.
"…the seizure you had, was the result of an interdimensional event. Obviously, a hidden memory that was once erased out of your mind and was breaking through when you saw your father and your… ehm… your brother flying together. It caused a severe neurological reaction in your brain." Zor-El explained while they all watched the holographic image of Jon's brain together.
"An interdimensional event?" Jon said. "You mean, someone in the multiverse is messing around with me?"
"Possibly!" Alura continued. "When you arrived here, we made scans of you! We traced little traces of anomalies, that at first let us assume that you could be some kind of breacher from another dimension. But this is not fact. More we guess now that something else is affecting you! Have you ever been in touch with someone from another Earth?"
"No! No, I would know that!" Jon responded.
"Maybe without that you know it!" Alura said.
Jon shrugged. "I told you everything about my life on Earth that I can remember. My life was pretty normal! I met a lot of different people in my life. If one of them was a breacher I wouldn't have mentioned!"
"You said you had a strange vision about your father and your 'brother' flying away and leaving you alone?" Kara asked.
"Yes… It felt so real! As if it really happened! I was on a farm… I told you what a farm is…"
On Earth TUD25…
"I've never got so humiliated before! I don't know what was worse: The fact that he forgot me, the fact that he openly showed me that he prefers my brother because of his brother, or the fact that he didn't care for me! He turned to Jordan and told him that he is proud on him before he left and flew away." Jonathan moaned. "I think when he told Jordan that he is proud on him was the worst!"
"It must have been very hard?" Kyle said, offering him more cookies.
They sat in the firehouse. Jonathan needed to talk to someone after that memory suddenly shoot back in his head. One of the worst days in his life. His family was no option. And Kyle, who was now in the secret for a while, was offering him an ear when he saw how upset Jon was when he arrived.
"Can I tell you something in secret? I always wished that he never learns to fly! I mean… Every time he got a new power, I was suffering more than him. And when Jordan learned to fly… I just got confirmed that I have no place in my father's world!"
Kyle gave him a comforting pat on the shoulder…
"But I still wonder what this vision was! It was kind of like when my doppelganger from the inverse world was here. But also, different! I saw a foreign town and a futuristic city and Metropolis… it felt like… different versions of me!"
On Earth-AU…
"…an interdimensional event?"
"That's how my grandmother described it! Someone messed with me, and now it's going to collide!"
'Connor' was back in his house in Ketchikan, Alaska with his pregnant wife. Their three-year-old-son was playing upstairs in his room and hopefully didn't listen.
"The day my brother learned to fly was one of the worst days in my life! And for some reason this memory shoot in my head like a speeding bullet! It was so intense…"
"Could it happen again?"
"According to my grandmother it is unlikely! At least as long as whoever is playing mess in the multiverse don't do it again."
"I hope it does not affect Joel. Could it be… you know…"
"You mean my father's doppelganger?"
"He came to this Earth just to save your life! Maybe he did it on other Earths, too?"
"I don't want to think about it, Janet! I wanted to die that day. And I died. I am Connor now! Jonathan Kent is dead, and he stays dead! I am thankful for my father's doppelganger's courage, but I want nothing to do with that. These powers are worse enough to hide!"
"The world already knows that Jonathan Kent is still alive!"
"And I will kill my father for revealing this to the world if he ever dares to show up here! I don't care for him anymore. He has made my life hell enough! I want to protect you, Janet! And Joel!" Connor said and put his hand on his wife's baby bump. "And Martha!"
A smile appeared on his face, while Connor used his x-ray vision to see his baby-daughter inside his wife's womb. He kneeled next to her and went close to her to whisper to her.
"Martha you are named after the only person in my previous life that truly loved me. Wear this name with honor!"
On Earth-Krypton…
"Connor, was really mad… he said he won't come to the family-dinner on Saturday!" Lois said angrily while she walked up and down in the living-room of her Metropolis penthouse and told everything what happened to Clark, who flew over from his own 'apartment' in the fortress after 'Connor' attacked him there. "Once I am able to convince him to eat with us, he gets mad on us again. You did it again, didn't you?"
"I had to do it! But I was extremely careful, Lois! The Jonathan in that world commit suicide! They made mistakes like we did!"
"You think I don't feel bad about them, too?" Lois said with tears in her eyes. "You think I am not ashamed for how our family fell apart after we moved to Krypton. How Jonathan felt more and more uncomfortable in his role as Superman's powerless son! Our son tried to kill himself twice, Clark! The first time, we never noticed! And after the second attempt we grounded him and went to a party ten minutes later! We treated him like the shame of El. As if he does not deserve to be a part of our family. And you think you can travel to other Earths and scold your doppelgangers for the same mistakes you and I made… aww…"
Lois collapsed on the floor and burst out in tears. Clark went closer to comfort her.
"I am so sorry! I never meant to hurt anyone! And I know I can't reverse my mistakes! It's just… seeing other Jonathan's suffering under the same mistakes I made with ours… I don't endure it… I can't watch it… I know that our Jonathan will never fully forgive us, but I will do everything for it. No matter what…"
"And how? Our son is dead, Clark! Connor is a clone!"
"A clone, who is carrying all the memories and the entire consciousness of our son in him! They kept his body alive artificially for so many years and now he is free from all the negative influence and has powers. He is a hero, Lois! Haven't you seen how he saved that plane? Connor might be a clone, right! But he is also our son Jonathan, who got a second chance to live! I will fix everything!"
Lois sobbed for a while, and it took several minutes for her to calm down. But finally, she was able to look at her ex-husband again…
"Is there anything I can do to help?"
On various other Earths, the Clark from Earth-Krypton visited, the Jonathan's there had visions about their respective barn-scenes, too. But on none of this Earths, Clark changed the timeline so rapidly like he did on Earth-359, when he took baby Jonathan away from his family and brought him to the Reynold's!
Back in the dimension of Earth-359…
Jon-El was still very moody when he walked up and down the scenic terrace of the House of El building. Still having that picture of his supposed brother and their father flying together in his head. And not getting that thought out of his head that his own father could have abandoned him coldly just because he had no powers. But he had!
He remembered his training with Tal in Germany after latter saved him from the lab. He was able to have powers. They only needed intense mental and physical training. And maybe some help from the fortress. Their spectacular stunt over the Java Sea was a prove.
It was late night, by now! Almost everyone in Argo was in bed now. The city below them was dark and empty. And Jonathan could see the stars through the dome, that covered Argo City. They looked so beautiful. And here they see a lot more stars than everyone would ever be able to see on Earth. He looked on the star, he knew was the sun of Earth. It was so small! So far away. So weak… like him?
"Jon?" Kara came out on the terrace, too. Only wearing her pajamas. "It's late!"
"I can't sleep!"
"Jon-El, brooding about it will not solve it! I am sure that there is a plausible explanation for it!" Kara said, without believing it by herself. But she couldn't hurt Jon more than he already was. "Go to bed again! We have a family meeting tomorrow and then we will discuss everything."
Reluctantly Jon went to his room again. But he was barely able to sleep…
The next day, after breakfast, the whole family came together to discuss the latest reveal that Kal-El had another son and that he had the same powers.
"Could it be that more of us were able to reach Earth and that Kal-El bonded with another Kryptonian survivor?" a cousin of Zor-El asked.
"No! The only Kryptonians that were able to reach Earth were Kal-El and Tal-Rho, according to Jon-El!" Zor-El respond.
Suddenly all eyes were focused on Jon! And he felt that he had to say something now. He took a deep breath and told his point of view.
"I had no clue that my biological father Kal-El, has another son! Back on Earth, I was not aware of my heritage. I told you, my story! My adoptive parents probably never knew the truth about me! And I openly admit that it was a huge shock for me to figure out that have a brother. Or half-brother? I don't know if we have the same mother, or what was the reason I... ehm…"
"It's okay!" Alura continued talking to avoid any more awkwardness for Jon. "We will continue watching the television signals we receive from Earth and see if we can figure out more…"
The meeting ended. And many family members asked questions, Jon was eighter not able to answer, or was too ashamed to answer. He told them how he was able to blend in perfectly on Earth because of his lack of powers. Maybe that was the reason: To make it possible for him to have a normal life? But he loved the Kryptonian way of life. He learned to love it over the past four years!
Jon left the hall to get some air. Walking up and down again to brood about everything on the terrace again. Feeling the red sun on his skin. From the first day in Argo he felt the difference between the red sun and the yellow sun back on Earth…
"I heard you are sad!" suddenly Jon could hear a friendly elder voice right next to him. He turned to the left to see Zor-El's friend and colleague Zaltar standing next to him.
"Zaltar!" Jon was happy and gave him a hug. "Nice to see you again. Where have you been!"
Zaltar was not a family member. And he was old enough to be Jon's grandfather. But the man was always kind and friendly to him, ever since he came to Argo and supported Jon in so many ways. He was a mentor, a friend and a person Jonathan could trust.
"Daxam! On a meeting! I heard that you are very upset about your new brother?"
"Brother? Half-brother? Adoptive brother? I have no clue who this boy is. Or what to think about it?"
"You look like you need an encouragement!" Zaltar said. "Come with me! I want to show you something!"
Zaltar brought Jon downstairs where the house-of-El had all their laboratories and research facilities.
Jon liked these areas. Just a few months ago he finished school and was studying in the academy of science now. According to Zor and Zaltar, Jon had the potential to become a great scientist of his own. Living up the legacy of the House of El like a true heir. He was smart, eager to learn and open. Jon liked to spend time in these labs to learn more about the planet he was living on now, and about all the other worlds, Krypton studied. He also loved to share his knowledge about Earth with the Kryptonians.
They met with Zor-El in the corridor and Zaltar opened the door to a lab. When the lights turned on, Jon saw in awe the latest invitation and saw in the holographic image that Zaltar found a way to connect with the Internet on Earth…
"Wow… that's YouTube!" Jon said now in English again. "And Facebook! This is…"
"We were able to improve the system and we are now able to receive better signals from Earth!" Zor-El explained. "It gives you the opportunity to connect with Earth better again! And we don't have to wait for the television-signals from Earth so long anymore. With the new system we have direct access now!"
"The television-signals we received till today, took weeks to arrive here!" Zaltar continued. "With the improved system, we get them almost in matter of seconds."
"Live footage!" Jonathan said happily now in English.
"Li-ve foot-age?" Zaltar asked. "What is that meaning!"
"I'll explain you later!" Jonathan said and turned excited to the big holograph again and start to surf on the Internet on Earth again.
The day was full of fun…
Jon was so lost on the Internet that they had to bring his lunch to him. Jon felt suddenly so close to home again. The first thing he checked were his old friends…
He was surprised that his old Facebook-account, he created only six months before he got locked up in the lab, was still online. There were a lot of discussions with his adoptive parents about his social-media-account, but he was allowed to use it under strict rules. After his supposed death, his account was flooded with 'Rest-in-peace' posts. But over his old account he was able to find his old friends again.
He browsed through his friends' photos and got answers… he saw that some were able to reach their goals. Others not. One boy he went to elementary school with survived cancer. Another one is bullied online. Another one became a bully! The girl he had his first crush on, was now openly lesbian! And their old housemaid Chuz was sent back to Colombia after his supposed death, where she had her own well running business now. His old au-pair, Marie from Germany, was divorced…
After spending hours and hours with learning more about his old pals, Jon checked his Uncle Tal. Or at least his human-identity Morgan Edge…
He was still the CEO of EdgeEnerCorp. And opened a lot of green-energy-power-plants in structurally weak areas and in poorer countries. His latest project was a big wind turbine park in a former coal mine near Smallville, Kansas. Giving the place a much-needed economic boost. On YouTube he found an Interview that was about a year old…
And Tal praised that he had a meeting with someone who has changed his worldview and gave his life a purpose. Jon felt flattered, that he was able to help his Uncle Tal overcome the demons of his past…
"Jon, you spent the whole day in here! Take a break!" Kara said when she came in with his dinner.
"Sorry, Kara… but it is just so exciting! After so many years I can see what happened to my friends and Uncle Tal!" Jonathan said.
"We could take this stuff all up to our living area? So, you wouldn't have to spend all day down here in the lab! And you could show us more about Earth."
"Great idea… So, I would be able to show everyone more from Earth! You wanna see something really cool?" Jonathan asked and opened YouTube to show her the famous very first Interview of Superman with Lois Lane.
Together they watched the famous interview of Superman on the Daily-Planet-Today with Lois Lane. Kara wondered why Kal-El goes by the name Superman on Earth and doesn't use his real name. And Jon had to explain again a lot…
"We have to show this to the rest of the family, too!" Kara said full of excitement when Jonathan closed the video. Back in the normal view, Kara spotted something in the recommended videos. "What is that?"
Jon saw it, too. It was a video of Daily-Planet-Today, too. This time with the first-time-on-screen-interview with 'Superboy'…
Jon's heart sank when he saw it. It had billions of hits, too. And just like the other interview tens of thousands of comments. Jon fell into a kind of trance while his hand unconsciously moved to click on that video to watch it…
The video began just like the other one. With the blend in logo (the newer one) of Daily-Planet-Today and with a 20-year elder Lois Lane…
"Welcome to the Daily-Planet-Today! And here with us, 20 years after his father, is now with his very first on-screen interview. Please welcome, Superboy!"
The camera zoomed out to reveal the other boy again. Short, curly hair, and the house-of-El crest on his blue suit that matched perfectly to his fathers. With cape and crest and boots.
"Thank you, Ms. Lane. It's an honor for me."
What followed was an hour of answering questions who he is, telling how proud he is on his father and how they kept his existence a secret to protect the family. Jon listened closely while they start to tell funny stories about their training and their flying lessons…
"I am so proud on him!"
Jon could feel his stomach flinch at that sentence…
Suddenly he got another vision…
He was in a house. Old style furniture. And in a rural area. Like a farm. And a man with glasses stood in front of him. Yelling on him angrily!
"You have brought shame over our family!" the man yelled angrily. It was so intense; Jon had the feeling he was really yelled on…
On Earth TUD25…
Jonathan was just about to leave when he fell on his knees in pain, having the vision of that evening his father yelling on him for the X-K, in his head. All the pain and sadness shoot back in his head and let him burst out in tears…
On Earth-AU…
Connor was in the kitchen and helped his wife to set the table for the dinner with her parents when he collapsed on the ground and his eyes start to glow… having that awful day in his head again when his father yelled on him and called him a disgrace for the family. A family he never really felt part of…
On Earth-Krytpon…
Connor was in his fortress when it happened again. The holographic image of Jonathan Kent was with him…
"It happens again! He really changed the timeline in another world!" 'Jonathan' said while analyzing the brainwaves of 'himself'.
On the other Earths, similar events occurred… One Jonathan decided to run away, while another one confessed everything to his Clark…
Earth-359…
Jon had no clue how long he was unconscious. Just a few seconds according to Lara. But it was reason enough to get him out of the lab and bring him to the medical unit again, where Jon was crying in despair…
"There has to be a reason for all of this!" Kara said to her parents.
"Until we don't know what causes these visions, we can do nothing for him!" her father said.
In worry, they looked on Jon, who was sleeping again. This time in his own bed…
"Father, I have a terrible feeling! What if Kal-El really abandoned Jon just because he believed that he won't develop powers on Earth?" Kara asked.
"If that's the case, it will be a huge disgrace for the house of El and Kal-El would bring a huge shame over the family!" Zor-El said. "The only reason Kal-El has powers, is because he is living on a planet with a yellow sun! Being Kryptonian has nothing to do with powers!"
"The humans fear him as much as they adore him!" Alura added. "Only he will be able to answer these questions…
"The special travel-pod, we designed together is ready!" Zor-El said.
"You mean it will be able to reach Earth?" Kara asked.
"Yes! Jon was very eager!" Zor-El said. "With the pod, he would be able to reach Earth within a day! The pod he came with needed weeks to arrive here! He spent most of the journey in hibernation…"
"Let's give Jon some rest!"
They left the room… they were not aware that Jon was only pretending to sleep and heard everything… more tears running down his face.
So, it was true: His own father didn't want him because he wouldn't get powers. Not like his supposed brother. Maybe he scanned him and decided to dump him after the result?
His mind went black… Suddenly he felt that urge to scold him… To confront him…
As soon as he was sure that his family was out, Jon changed into clean clothes, put on a formal black garment, like Uncle Tal liked to wear (just with the house of El crest), and recorded a message for his family to apologize and telling them that he will return as soon as possible…
As quiet as possible, Jon sneaked out of the apartment, and went down to the lab where he, Zor-El and Zaltar worked together on the pod. Jon walked up the stairs and saw it…
It was a grey shivering, beautiful looking pod, that was as big as a middle-class-car. Able to travel through space, faster than any other pod. And much faster than the 'mini-van'-pod, he usually used to travel through space…
Jon grabbed everything he needed and start to adjust the settings on the holographic screens to program a direct course to Earth. Then he put the crystals into the ship's energy core and start to climb into it.
Up in the living-area, Zaltar's bracelet start to glow red...
"There is someone in the lab!" he said.
Full of fear the family could guess who sneaked into the lab with the Earth-pod and start to run to stop him.
Jon sat down in the pod, pushed the button, before he saw the door around him closing and could feel it rising from the ground while the gate to the outside opened…
Hearing the noise from the starting engine, his family hurried up and saw the pod coming out of the building…
"JON!"
"Oh, Jon…" Kara yelled, too.
"NO! JON, STOP…" Zor-El yelled.
Everyone start to yell and run up the stairs to get to the pod to stop Jon from travelling to Earth alone…
Jonathan ignored the panicked calls of his family. He just had one thought: Go back to Earth and get answers. No matter what happens…
The pod flew over Argo, catching the attention of countless others while heading towards the spaceship port where the pod will be able to get out of the dome. Below him, Jon's panicked relatives waved with their arms and yelled after him to stop.
"JON, NOOOO…" Zor-El yelled when the pod speed up.
It shoot away in a flash to leave Argo threw the force field and vanished in the big wide void of space...
"NO… Jon!" Alura burst into tears and hold herself on her husband. Kara start to cry, too. "Why?"
"Oh, Jon…" Kara was devastated. Fearing Jon could get in trouble on Earth. "What will happen to him?"
"He is half human. But in the past years his body cells have adjusted to our sun. That and the fact that he feed from Kryptonian food and water have altered his cells." Zaltar, who kept a close eye on Jon and his body structure over the past years, said. "His body will undergo rapid changes. It could give him powers, like his father's, or kill him…"
This story is taking place on multiple Earths.

Earth-Krypton: The Earth from 'The shame of El' and main base of the world breaching Clark.
The Earth from 'All I wanted', 'All he wanted' will be introduced later. As well as the Earth from 'He needs you'.
Little trivia: Zaltar was a character from the 1984 Supergirl-movie. Zor-El and Alura are Kara's parents. More explanation I will give in the next chapters. There will be a lot of characters return. And of course, Jonathan's long time exposure to the Kryptonian red sun, eating Kryptonian foods and living 'on Krypton' changed him. Stay tuned. Let me know in your comments what you think!
