Mini chapter:
No-one talked on the way back. The silence was all encompassing as the Genin finally understood what they had done. None spoke and none dared to speak as the Genin were horrified by their actions. Once they arrived back no-one would understand their action except fellow shinobi and their families as they had done the very same thing.
They would need the comfort of their friends and families but this left the curious question of who would be looking after Naruto. Naruto was an orphan with no friends or family except Iruka Umino and the third Hokage. All 3 walked patiently and quietly, with Kashin observing them for any sign that they would break down at any moment.
"You may be horrified by your actions but these actions were necessary, we had to deal with the bandits, this is the life of a shinobi, you may think that this was wrong but this is what is needed to protect the innocent, this is the role of shinobi in this world," said Kashin Sarutobi as all three looked at their sensei.
"Hey guys," said Izumo but noticed the attitude of the team.
"What happened?" asked Kotetsu.
"They had to kill about 40 people," said Kashin.
"Oh," said Kotetsu.
"Get inside," said Izumo as they entered.
The team walked to the Hokage's office. They walked together to the mission office. To see the smiling old man who had been there for many months.
"Oh hello Team 6 how are you?" asked lord third Hokage but noticed the down attitude.
"Not good lord Hokage, they had to kill about forty bandits between them," said Kashin.
"Why didn't you kill the bandits?"
"Rush of the moment decision, they had a plan."
"Alright so how did they kill them?"
"All 3 used dragon flame bomb to kill the bandits."
"Interesting, you are dismissed except you, Naruto."
The team left before looking at Naruto uncertain at leaving their teammate hear but their sensei convinced them that it was for the best for the moment.
"Now how are you feeling my boy?" asked the ageing Sarutobi as he got up from his desks and walked over to Naruto. Naruto had tears in his eyes as he recounted what he had done.
"I-i killed people, old man, and not just using dragon flame bomb, I used two kunais, jumped down and stabbed a bandit, I couldn't even think on the kill or my actions, I just did, then I killed a lot more people, I didn't even think, oh jiji, what have I done?"
Sarutobi pulled Naruto into his chest as the boy started crying. It was horrible for Naruto to even think about the concept of killing, Naruto wasn't proud or even happy about what he had done.
The tears kept coming as Naruto finally stopped but he still felt down.
"Can, can I leave old man?" asked Naruto to which Sarutobi nodded. After Naruto left Sarutobi thought about the information this provided. This confirmed that the kyuubi wasn't influencing Naruto as the boy had human like morality.
"Please bring Iruka Umino to my office," said Hiruzen. The anbu nodded and left and later the chunin arrived with a knock at the door.
"Come in Iruka, now do you know why I called you here?"
"Why lord Hokage?"
"Naruto," said the old man.
"Naruto?" asked Iruka.
"Naruto killed a few bandits, he's not taking it well."
"Oh, may I check up on him?" asked Iruka "Can I take a break from teaching at the academy?"
-Time skip-
Naruto was dressed in his pajamas and favorite frog cap when Iruka came through the window. He was in his apartment and had a blanket covering him.
"Hey Iruka-sensei, how are ya?" asked Naruto.
"Good but on to the bigger question, how are you Naruto?" asked Iruka.
"Not great, I-i killed some bandits, Iruka-sensei," said Naruto looking down.
"What happened?"
"We went on a bandit elimination mission, that our sensei had given us, in the night about fifty came, me and my teammate Asashi rushed towards our other teammate Himari, I killed a bandit when I jumped down and stabbed him, then we three used a dragon flame bomb on the rest of them, I don't know who killed more me or my teammates but by the end of it, there were only corpses," explained Naruto. Naruto suddenly began crying as Iruka took the boy into his arms.
"Naruto, you did what you had to, you know when I used to tell you about the life of a shinobi, I forgot to mention this part didn't I?" asked Iruka, " this is the true duty of the shinobi, to steal, to cheat, to kill."
"Sensei, have you had to do this?" asked Naruto wiping a few tears away.
"Yes, it never gets easier but you will have to," said Iruka as Naruto nodded. Iruka then went into great detail explaining some of the missions he used to go on before becoming an academy teacher. A knock on the door came as Iruka answered it to find an Anbu there.
"Lord Hokage, asked us to give this to Naruto," said the Anbu as once handed to Iruka disappeared. Iruka looked at the scroll and his eyes widened. It was a difficult technique to master but extremely useful on the battlefield.
The five release: great combo technique. A technique used by Hiruzen Sarutobi and extremely powerful, Iruka knew that Naruto had large reserves but he didn't know that Naruto had that large a reserve where he could learn such a high ranking technique.
"Naruto, Lord Third has given you a gift," said Iruka. Naruto looked up to Iruka.
"What, what is it?" asked Naruto.
"A high ranking technique known as five release: great combo technique," said Iruka.
"How powerful is it?" asked Naruto, his attention changing to the technique.
"this technique requires shadow clones and then each of the clone shoots a release from it's mouth, it is extremely powerful but it will take some time to master."
"That's so cool."
"Indeed, but I wonder who will teach it to you."
"Maybe Sarutobi sensei?"
