A month had past since that C-rank and they had finished 2 more. Another bandit elimination mission where they had to eliminate 20 bandits and a mission where they guarded a rich merchant back to his village and defended his caravan from bandits. This also the mission where Naruto's lack of manners caused a lot of problems.

Naruto was walking towards their usual training field, he didn't know why their sensei had called all of them together as it was their off day, one of the few days that the team actually took a rest. As he thought up probable reasons, one might be because of the Chunin Exams that were going to be here in a month.

What Naruto didn't notice however was that he had run into his old rival, the infamous Uchiha Clan heir, Sasuke Uchiha, was also walking in the same direction. They bumped into each other.

"Oh sorry," said Naruto but his eyes widened as he realized who was in front of him "Sasuke?!"

Sasuke at first thought this was some random shinobi but decided to get a closer look at the genin infront of him, something about him seemed familiar. The blond hair and blue eyes.

"Dobe?!" asked Sasuke as his eyes widened in shock.

"Oh hey, Sasuke, sorry can't talk right now very busy, have a meeting with the team," said Naruto as he tried to pass but Sasuke had some questions, he'd like answered.

"Where have you been?" asked Sasuke.

"Busy," exclaimed Naruto as he tried to pass.

"Busy doing what? And why are you wearing that headband?" asked Sasuke.

"I am wearing that headband because I am a genin, and busy doing missions," said Naruto, as he tried to pass.

"you, a genin?" asked Sasuke, his eyes having a humorous glint in them.

"Yes me, now I have a meeting with my team, can I please go?" asked Naruto.

"Not until you answer all of my questions," said Sasuke, as he realised that Naruto was being more polite than he knew him to be, but unknown to Sasuke, Naruto had to be convinced by Sarutobi, Kakashi, Kashin and Iruka to pick up ettiqute books.

"If you are a genin, what was your latest mission?" asked Sasuke.

"A C-rank," said Naruto as Naruto decided he had to learn the body flicker technique as not to be trapped in these types of converations.

Naruto pushed Sasuke away and ran as he realised he was even more late for this meeting than he should have been. Naruto walked up to his team and smiled at them, giving them a wave, which they returned.

"Hey sarutobi-sensei, so why did you want to see us, on our day off?" asked Naruto "I was just about to make ramen." Asashi and Himari had both gotten accustomed to the blond's actions and both had smiles on their faces.

"Naruto, there you are, I wanted to discuss with you 3 your progress," said Kashin.

"Is that all this is about?" asked Naruto.

"What about our progress?" asked the young Hyuga.

"You 3 have exceeded all expectations," complimented Sarutobi "I never expected this team to work so well, you 3 master everything I can throw at you with dignity, no moaning or whining, you guys just keep going, you 3 are going to be legendary I can say."

"Sensei, are you trying to give us egos as big as Sasuke Uchiha's?" joked Naruto.

"Why did you bring up the last Uchiha, Naruto?" asked Kashin.

"Oh, I just saw him today on my way here," explained Naruto.

"Sensei, is this all?" asked Himari.

"Yeah, I have to visit the old man and see if he will give a few suggestions for techniques, I should learn," said Naruto.

"Why not just go to the library?" asked Kashin.

"The old man is known as the 'professor', I am sure he knows some techniques," said Naruto.

"Naruto, Lord Hokage knows every technique in the hidden leaf village," said Himari.

"Wait he does?" asked Naruto. Naruto was shocked, he had never thought that the old man could be so powerful.

As the team broke apart Naruto decided to visit the old man, he walked towards the Hokage tower. Naruto really wanted to see if he could pick up a few more techniques just to be ready. However at the same time Sasuke Uchiha decided to visit Naruto's favorite academy instructor, Iruka Umino to see if there was any truth to Naruto's claims.

"Iruka-sensei, is what Naruto said true?" asked Sasuke.

"What did Naruto say?" asked Iruka.

"That he is a genin?" asked Sasuke.

"Yes Naruto is a genin," said Iruka. Sasuke got angry at that fact that Naruto could graduate before him.

"the idiot is allowed to graduate early but I am not?" asked Sasuke.

"Naruto was only allowed to graduate due to the fact that there were an irregular amount of graduates to make up the teams," said Iruka, but he knew this was an excuse 'someone would most likely would have taken Naruto as an apprentice but Sasuke doesn't need to know that'.

"Then why wasn't I selected?" asked Sasuke "Naruto can't make a basic clone, why was he selected?"

"Naruto passed the genin exam," explained Iruka.

"How?" asked Sasuke.

"Naruto didn't make a basic clone," said Iruka ominously. Sasuke decided he would challenge Naruto to a duel the next time he saw him as he wanted to prove that he was still better than the dead last, but what he didn't realize is the fact that Naruto would be busy with the chunin Exams next time, Sasuke saw him.

Naruto however was unaware of these occurrences as he had just convinced Sarutobi to give him 3 more techniques to learn, earth release: great mud river, earth release: earth dragon bomb, and finally fire release: fire dragon bomb. Naruto was excited as he could use the techniques together or separate and couldn't wait to learn them.

Naruto would be ready for the chunin exams.
