Trust

"Hey, look at this." Casey pulls something out of his pocket. "Got the badge. Studied for ages, but finally got it."

OK, he's police. That's good to know.

"Look, do you need a ride somewhere?" he asks. "Maybe we can catch up."

April takes the hint. "I'd love to."

They leave the coffee shop. Casey opens the door of a black car and gestures for April to get inside. He slips in after her and starts the car, driving off into the night.

"How did you know the Foot are watching me?"

Casey doesn't take his eyes off the road. "Saw one of the Foot's top people following you. Her name's Karai. Do you have any idea why she was watching you? Is there anything you've done recently, or anyone you've spoken to..."

April feels sick. She reaches into her jacket pocket and pulls out Eric Sacks's card.

Casey snatches it and hurls it out the window.

"Sacks is working with the Foot." April's voice is almost a whisper.

Now Casey does glance at her. "Eric Sacks?"

"Yes. He must have told them about..." She stops herself just in time.

"Told them about what?"

April has a choice. She can either keep quiet and handle this by herself, or she can trust him.

The turtles could be in serious danger from the Foot...but it's not just them she has to think about. What if she's putting Taylor in even greater danger? The turtles were her childhood pets, yes, but they have no idea who she is and they had no problem threatening her.

Taylor should be her priority.

"Have you heard of the New York vigilantes?"

"Yeah."

April swallows. "I've met them - and I think they have my friend."

Her phone rings.
