Time War of the Main Universe:
In the Trenches.
CHAPTER.
Gallifrey, Sky-Trenches.
One of Smartholomew's Echoes... one of three female incarnations, ducked behind a rock. Only to find another Soldier, who already claimed this cover.
"Just what the hell do you think your doing here, Theta Sigma!" She snapped out his chosen name. "Little girls should be in school." The soldier, being a 'little girl' herself, was smirking playfully.
Still that was the type of jest Theta wasn't willing to tolerate. HE didn't think jokes that mocked him for turning into a girl were very funny.
He sneered at her, "If I didn't need you for cannon fodder, I'd carve out your hearts myself." He quickly peeked over the rock and fired at the approaching Daleks, forcing them to take cover of their own. Missing them with every shot.
"The General is going to be pissed when he learns you snuck out again." the Soldier sneered back. "You're a liability. You don't even know how to shoot."
Theta smirked, "I don't need to know how to shoot."
He threw a grenade, bouncing it off a street sign. It hit the enemy from behind, rolling quietly between their hover skirts. Stopping over a fuel line. All without any of the huddled Daleks noticing, as they assumed the grenade missed them thanks to the lousy shooting. The explosion that followed evaporated them before they could scream, completely disintegrating them.
Theta peeked out of the rock and smirked, "Always been better with explosives, anyhow." before walking out.
The Soldier tried to stop him, but was too slow... When Theta Sigma didn't immediately die, she cautiously began to stand.
Gasping in awe, at the destruction around them from one well place grenade. She watched as The Doctor's daughter gave a smug smirk.
"Son." Theta glared, picking up the surface thought.
"Eh?" The Soldier blinked.
"I'm the Doctor's son, not his daughter." Theta Sigma huffed. "Seeing as I just saved your life, you could at least address me properly!"
The Soldier blinked, looking Theta Sigma up and down, "But... you're a woman?"
"I was born a man so that is how I like to be addressed." Theta waved off. He gave an intense scowl, as his large breast bounced from the sudden movement. He felt trapped in this body. Likely his human genes.
The Soldier continued to stare... then shrugged it off. With how eccentric the Doctor was, it seemed inevitable his ward would be more so... but their was no denying it "He" was one skilled pyrotechnic.
"Why doesn't the General want you involved with the fighting?" The Soldier asked.
Theta Sigma growled, "I'm being used to blackmail my parents. They can't rightly control them, if I'm in harm's way."
Then she (A quick glare from Theta Sigma) "He" started walking towards the sound of more fighting.
• Once Theta returned from the Sky-Trenches.
"But we want to help!" Theta glared at her father.
The Doctor huffed, "Are you so eager to go back onto the front lines? You already snuck out there once, against my orders, might I add. How did that work out for you, young Lady?"
The woman glared, "DON'T CALL ME THAT!"
The Doctor shrugged, "Have you looked in a mirror? You're a woman now!"
"DOESN'T MEAN I WANT TO BE ADDRESSED AS ONE!" She snapped.
"You're lucky they didn't stop both your hearts." The Master glared as she stepped into the room, "Honestly, stop being so selfish!"
"SELFISH! For wanting to help!" The woman screamed.
"Thetatropolousvsgholtazsr Sigmaakronosvexsithkada!" The Master snapped out the woman's full title. "You're barely out of training pants!!! You need to stop this fantasy. It killed you once already!!!"
"I'm immortal now," Theta waved off. "If The Daleks ever get a drop on me. I'll just load."
The Doctor rested a hand on her shoulder, "Please. Don't go out there again. If you want to help, help here. We need officers to discuss strategies."
Theta loudly screamed, "YOU LEAD FROM THE FRONT LINES!"
"Yes well, I'm stupid," the Doctor smirked.
The Master sighed, "You know I don't approve of lying to children,"
"I'M NOT A CHILD!" Theta roared, "I haven't been a child for a thousand years! You need to stop treating me like one and realize I have something to offer!"
The Doctor glared, "Enough of this, I'm putting my foot down. You will not leave the safety of this compound again."
Theta "gah-ed" and stormed deeper into the room. Acting very much a child.
The Doctor sighed and put a hand to his head.
"It's not like you to be so short with her," The Master observed.
"He reminds me too much of myself to not make myself clear on the matter." The Doctor sighed.
"She." The master smirked.
"Must you push his buttons like that?" The Doctor eyed.
"It's your mutt blood that confuses her." The Master insisted.
• Gallifrey, Drylands :
Theta ran through the sandy fields of the Drylands. Dodging fire while throwing around grenades and firing his single handed rocket launcher. The bigger on the inside magazine allowed the gun to hold thousands of plasma based rockets.
Normally, the kick of such a small gun, with such large ammunition, would make it hard to use in any practical fire fight... but Theta had always been good with explosives.
Through their hive-mind, he could see the rest of him. Some had gotten pinned, and were under fire... while one had walked into a trap.
Everything in Theta demanded he get there. Yet there was an entire regiment between the boy and himself. Not wasting time, thinking of the odds, Theta went in swinging.
Firing shot after shot, while hurling grenades with his free hand. Theta jumped through the fire of his own bombs as he raced over... then froze... as a shot hit his counterpart. He wouldn't normally be so surprised... after all, this kinda happened a lot to him.
But in that moment, he screamed, falling to the floor, he felt the link sever. Not reboot, he was still here, screaming on the floor.
Dusty hadn't loaded... he couldn't load. Whatever weapon the Daleks fired at him, cut him off from the Time Vortex.
More of him were dropping, Unable to cope with the pain of dying again.
"Ex-ter-mi-nate!!!"
Theta looked up to see his killer, and smiled. "Boom," Hitting his deadman switch.
"The Explosion could be seen from orbit," The General calmly informed the raging beasts. The Doctor and the Master, both listed as SSS Level threats, for different reasons. This incident could risk them going rogue. He had to get the rest of their child under control... or he would face something worse then the Daleks.
"According to the survivors, Theta activated a prototype bomb, he built... which channelled his own internal magicks, to send a psychic blast to kill all with Dalek brainwaves... the explosion killed him... but save the rest of the troops on the planet. Because of him, we won the battle... even with the Daleks new Weapon."
"How did the Daleks block our troops ability to load?" Rassillion asked the important question... while trying hard to bury his own grief... that tot wanted so badly to be a hero... and it seems they got their wish.
"A simple Time Lock array," Informed the General. "Our temporal abilities couldn't get passed it."
"He's gonna die all over again," The Master balled his fist. That dangerous glint of madness, back into his eyes. "I'm going to lose him all over again... no, it's worse then that. I'll watch him die... 13 different ways."
The Master glared over at Rassillion, "You sure as hell, better find a way to stop this. Or not even atoms will be left of you when I'm done."
Rassillion wasn't particularly worried by that threat. The Master had been trying to kill him for thousands of years... but he did worry, what the currently silent Doctor might do...
Gods trembled before this man's wrath... any man was dangerous, when given hope, only to take it away... not even Daleks would want to know what gaining his son back, only to lose him again... 13 different ways, would do to the Doctor.
They still had 8 Smartholomews left... but losing 5 of his sons was bound to make the Doctor more dangerous then ever.
Rassillion would need to find a way to aim that rage at the Daleks.
