CHAPTER .
During the Time War.
"Still causing trouble, I see."
I yelped as I turned around, in front of my dorm, spotting Missy. Having just been chased out by Smar.
"Hey mom?" I gave an awkward wave. Still not entirely comfortable calling the Master "Mom".
I had been "Born", a few months ago, and just barely started taking classes for this new term...
It was still a bit of a shock, to have Missy take such a liking to me... even if I did write it into my backstory... it was just... strange, in practice. Then again, my version of the Master had evolved into more of an Anti hero, and had rekindled their friendship with The Doctor.
"I'm on Shore-Leave," The Master explained. "Just came to visit my boys."
I deflated a bit, "Oh so you probably want to see Smar."
Missy rolled her eyes, "Don't be ridiculous," as she gently took my arm, and started walking me down the hall she just came from. "You're one of my boys, to."
I smiled, letting her lead me away... it was nice, having a mom who cared... should have known it was a trick.
Of course, she set me at my ease first, drawing me into her trap. As the Spider does the Fly.
"I've seen a few of the projects the others are working on," Said Missy. "They all seem devoted to turning your Realm into a home. I'm curious what you're doing. With all your raw knowledge, you could do quite a lot."
"... I'm not really doing anything for class credit," I confessed. "But I am growing Leyline Class TARDISes, and connecting them to a Space Station I'm building, at the center of my realm."
Missy smiled, "Really now? Your growing TARDISes. That's quite impressive, at your age."
"Well... I do have the accumulative knowledge of 42 Time Lords, and quite a few of them took classes on Farming TARDISes. I got permission from Rassillion, to build my own TARDIS Coral farm, in my dimension.
"Like I said, they are Leyline TARDISes, bound to the Styx Leyline." Meaning they could travel through the Time Vortex, of that collection of Universes, and feed off the Cosmic energy of their dimensional frequency.
Missy looked interested in my hobbies, "Why the Styx Leyline?"
"It's just so fascinating," I partially lied. It was fascinating... but mostly due to stuff that would happen after the Time War. "It's the feeding ground of a young Shinigami, and various royal fae. Father even created a crossover, called the 'Destiny Verse'. Based on an old fight you and he had, over something called the "Immortality Gate". Many things Missy did, was purely to mess with the Doctor.
Missy looked thoughtful, "I don't recall." and She really couldn't. She'd gotten in so many fights with the Doctor, it was hard to keep track.
I smiled, "The real kicker is, I'm modeling them on Father's own TARDIS. I've been studying the modifications he made. My TARDISes are still an infinite dimension, but each TARDIS will also have 13 control wings, 200 Acres in diameter. With various customizable rooms.
"Each of these Control wings, will have their own seperate Gateway, into other dimensions. While the TARDIS' main body, will float around the outside of my Pocket Universe.
"This will alllow the TARDISes' 12th dimensional Awareness, to better interact within the dimensions their gateways are in. They will even be able to project physical bodies, made of solid data, similar to Digimon, within a lightyear of each gateway. So they can actually be part of the adventures of their crew.
"I'm only growing 13 TARDISes right now. One for each set of Doctor companions. With each getting their own control wing.
"Rassillion said I can't make TARDISes for my counterparts, or my friends, until we actually graduate the Institute. But I can make them for any interested Boekind.
"I'm actually accelerating my realms time stream, so my Boekind can grow up with happy childhoods, while still giving them the opportunity to fight in the time war, once their grown. Since we've been talking, it's actually been 3 days, in my realm...
"Is that hard on you?" Missy showed genuine concern.
"It definitely exhaust my magic to keep up this accelerated time stream. But I actually looped my Chakra, so my magic restores as quickly as it's depleted, at the cost of focusing a specific portion of it. I'm going to try to keep this up, throughout the time war. So I'm contributing more soldiers to the cause.
"But these Boekin are loyal to me, not Gallifreyians. I've made it clear, and got it acknowledged by Rassillion. My Boekin are allied forces, not part of the Gallifreyian army. I decide how they are used."
Missy continued to smile. "It really is amazing, what human ingenuity can do. When combined with a Gallifreyian's intellect."
"I know too damn much," I grumbled. "It makes school too damn boring."
"Is that why you dropped most of your classes?" Missy asked, silkeley.
I flinched, I should have known there was a reason she wanted to talk to me, alone. "I'm still taking Anthropology, Humanoid Sociology, Styx Leyline History, and Xeno Psychology. That isn't a light work load."
"Those are also the only classes, that directly relate to your interest. You dropped out of everything else, that your councilor suggested you take."
I sighed, "There too boring, I already learned everything they have to offer... 42 times over." I had the memories, of all the Time Lords of our Clutch.
"Then you should have tested out of them." Missy scolded, "Not just dropped them."
I sighed, "Dad thought it wouldn't be fair to the rest of the Hive. Given they have to learn things the old fashion way."
Missy froze, so I stopped walking as well. "Your FATHER suggested you drop the courses?!" she looked scandalized at the thought.
I explained, "He said it would be dangerous, if I tested out of classes, the rest of me hasn't learned."
"You could always just Tutor your brothers," Missy tried to grasp the Doctor's thinking. "Slowly upload your knowledge to the rest of your hive."
"Dad says that be cheating,"
"C-Cheating?" She looked genuinely shocked. "What's wrong with helping your brothers? So long as you don't give them all the knowledge at once, it shouldn't be a problem."
I waved off. "You know Dad, he's got like a million and one hang ups."
Missy blinked, perplexed by the idea. Then shook her head. "Kids trade knowledge all the time. Mental transfers are part of any basic tutoring session."
After all, the Time Tots still had to figure out how to comprehend the raw knowledge, on their own, it wasn't an instant fix.
Clutch members, especially, would help each other out like this. They did it all the time, from nursery school through the Time Lord Institute.
It's part of the reason the echoes were able to work towards the same degree, with aid of their hive mind.
Missy insisted, to put my worries at ease, "We can talk to the headmaster. He'll assure you, its not cheating. You can even send the knowledge to them, while their taking a test. Although you should really give them time to assimilate the knowledge, so they can comprehend it."
I shrugged, "I don't really wanna start pushing dad. He only just stopped flinching when I call him that," I blurted out, without thinking.
"Call him what?" Missy blinked... and I was reminded, we of Smartholomew, agreed not to tell The Master of the Doctor's reaction to me...
The other Masters, I took note through my Hive Mind, immediately started grilling the rest of me... with Smart Mouth caving almost instantly.
After all, he was my timid side, my childish side... my kind and gentle side... my emotional side... the side I wished I could be... someone loving and lovable... not grumpy and annoying me.
Before I could go too far into self-deprecation, Missy turned, and started marching down another hallway.
I followed after her, blatantly lying by saying it wasn't as bad as Smart Mouth made it sound... who was still being interrogated by the "Professor Yana" Master.
It just had to be one of the more intimidating Masters, currently with Smart Mouth. Grilling the poor boy. The kid was continuing to spew every time the Doctor had reacted negatively towards me... it was quite the list, having it laid bare like that.
I realized too late, where Missy was going... as she marched into the Cafeteria... where the 12th Doctor was sitting, enjoying a meal with Smarticus.
Missy stomped up to the Doctor, who smiled obliviously at her... right up until she slapped him hard across the face.
The aging magician lost his bright smile, and gave his mate a perplex look. Holding his bruising cheek.
"What I do now!?" He demanded. Completely baffled.
Missy answered by pointing at me. Loudly declaring, "That is our Son!"
The Doctor's confused expression, slowly transformed into an annoyed scowl. "No... it's not." He insisted, looking directly at me.
Missy then grabbed his head, and slammed it against the table. Before throwing him on the floor, and kicking him while he's down.
Both Smarticus and I flinched. Neither of us liking it when our parents got physical with each other... it hadn't happened since we were reincarnated... and never before we died. But we were aware of the millenniums in between, they spent trying to kill each other... that had been over us, as well.
"I thought you would have learned by now," Missy sneered. Kicking him again, "I will always choose my children over you." Then marched back over to me. Giving one last glare to the Doctor. "I suggest you visit a mind healer, to purge yourself of whatever irrational human hang ups you have. Then you can come see our son, and apologize."
Missy then gestured for me to take her arm... but I hesitated. Walking over to the Doctor, I helped him to his feet. Then waved my hand over him, casting a minor healing spell for his bruises.
The Doctor just stared at me. Then sighed, "I hate short cuts... but perhaps I should see a mind healer." Giving me a significant look... but I didn't know what it meant.
Missy gently laid a hand on my shoulder. "Come, your father has much to think about." I looked at the Doctor, who waved me off... and hesitantly followed Missy out of the food court.
"Sorry you had to see that," said Missy, shortly after we left. There had been a few minutes of awkward silence, before she spoke. "I forget sometimes, you too, have some human sentiments."
I eyed her, a bit weary... but decided to say it anyway. "Even so, I'm pretty sure most Gallifreyians frown on striking their mate."
Missy quirked an eyebrow, a smirk on her lips. "It might as well be our foreplay."
I blushed at the idea. Not having written anything like that into the Lore... but my memories told me, on extremely rare occasion, The Doctor and the Master had indeed... blushing deeper, Missy laughed at me.
"I see you remembered something." Missy teased. "Don't worry, I'm sure I can arrange a Mind Healer for you to."
The Time Lord version of a "Mine Healer" was more like a "Mind Eraser / Alterer".
"My human hang ups compel me not to go." I forced a smirk at her, and she sighed in exasperation.
"Why don't you introduce me to your friends?" Missy smiled at me.
Unknowingly to me, The Doctors were in deep discussion. After all, they wanted to like me... they even wanted to love me, as the gift I was intended... so despite me not writing it this way, the Doctors chose to speak with the Mind Healers... to force themself to accept me... I still don't know how I feel about that... but it's a different morality.
