Styx Leyline Calendar:
All worlds, across all Universes of this Multiverse, use the same measurement of time. As they all spawned from Pete's World, and are connected by the Ether.
• 1 Cycle = 42 Years.
• 1 Year = 600 Days = 12 Months.
• 1 Week = 10 Days.
• 1 Day = 42 Hours = 30 hours daylight / 12 hours nights.
• 1 Month = 5 Weeks = 50 Days.
• Aging:
Most Sapient races, Outside non-magical Humanoids, mature at the same rate.
With childhood based on years, not cycles. These lifeforms just stay in their prime longer. Their aging doesn't begin to slow until they turn 15. As the aging process gradually slows, more and more, until they turn 1 Cycle. At which point they are the physical equivalent of a 25 year old, non-magical humanoid. As a result, they are not legally adults until they turn 1 cycle.
• School Break:
Instead of Summer Break, school children have off October through December. Returning to school after New Years.
• Working Hours:
Most individuals earn salary, with the option of overtime.
As a week is 10 days long. Most businesses are closed the first 2 days of the Week, as well as the last 2 days. Meaning most, better paying jobs, have 4 days off, work 6 days straight, then have another 4 days off.
However, as most retail jobs are open everyday of the week, the employees have every other day off, by law, and can't exceed 20 hour shifts, with a minimum of 5, 1 hour long, breaks.
On the Galactic Scene, it is illegal to hire adults as "part time" employees, so those jobs are given to individuals under a Cycle old.
While a minor's work day, cannot exceed 10 days. With 3, 1 hour, breaks in between.
Companies decide for themselves, if hiring minors is worth all the legal red tape, and limitations. Given minors have a lower minimum wage.
