Chp. 39: Halloween Birthday Blow Out

RWBY's Dorm Room

A week had passed since RWBY, JNPR, GRMA, CFDT, OBSA, and JAAR had gone over the script for RWBY Volume 9. Today was morning, and inside Team RWBY's dorm room, Weiss, Blake, and Yang were still in their beds sleeping soundly. Ruby walks to the middle of the room with a whistle in her head. Ruby blew into her whistle, causing the rest of her team to wake up and fall out of their beds.
"Good morning, Team RWBY!" Ruby exclaimed.
"Ruby! What the heck?!" Weiss shouted.
"I woke you all up to remind you all what today is!" Ruby said.
"Oh, right. Halloween," Blake said with a yawn.
"My birthday!" Ruby exclaimed as Blake spoke.
"Oh, right. That too," Weiss said.
"Yup," Yang dully said.
After an hour had passed, Team RWBY were emerging from their dorm room and out into the hall, all ready for the day. They see Team JNPR waiting out in the hall as they turn their attention to them.
"Morning, girls," Pyrrha greeted.
"Hey, guys," Ruby replied with a wave.
"Happy Halloween!" Nora exclaimed.
"And happy birthday, Ruby," Jaune added.
"Thanks," Ruby replied.
They hear the sound of footsteps and turn their heads to see Teams GRMA and CFDT walking up the hall and approaching them.
"Hi, guys,"Ruby greeted the two Terran teams.
"Good morning," Jacob replied with a wave.
"Happy Halloween fellas!" Ricky said.
"And a happy birthday to you, Ruby," Kelly added.
"Yep. Today's my birthday," Ruby said.
"Don't take advantage of this, Ruby. This is also Halloween. We don't want you to be like your counterpart like on RWBY Chibi," Britney said.
"What?! Pfft! That's not gonna happen," Ruby said with a flick of her hand.
"I hope so. Wouldn't want you to wear that trash can costume like in the show," Yang said with a smirk.
"Yang!" Ruby whined.
"You guys coming over to the Halloween party tonight?" Jaune asked.
"You know we are," Rebecca answered.
"Then we all better get ourselves ready for tonight," Pyrrha said.
'"And get some presents for Ruby," Allen added.
'"Yeah! Presents!" Ruby exclaimed.
Ballroom
Later at night, the entire student body and staff were all in the ballroom enjoying the party as they were all in costumes. Refreshments and games were set up as the students took satisfaction over them. Most of the students were dancing to the song Monster Mash by Bobby 'Boris' Pickett.
Ruby was dressed up as Carmen Sandiego, Weiss as Snow White from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Blake as Belle from Beauty and The Beast, and Yang as Princess Peach from the Mario series. Jaune was dressed up as Cloud Strife from Final Fantasy VII, Nora as Lady Thor from the Marvel comics, Ren as Bruce Lee, and Pyrrha as Ariel from The Little Mermaid. Jacob was dressed up as the Tenth Doctor from Doctor Who, Ricky as Bucky Barns, A.K.A. the Winter Soldier from the MCU, Kelly as Raven from Teen Titans, and Allen as Doug Walker, A.K.A. The Nostalgia Critic. Britney was dressed up as Princess Aurora from Sleeping Beauty, Robert as James Rolfe, A.K.A. The Angry Video Game Nerd, Rebecca as Tiana from The Princess and the Frog, and Kendra as Violet Parr from The Incredibles.
"Great party isn't it?" Ricky asked.
"Yeah, it is!" Yang answered.
"Heh! You're dressed as a nerd!" Nora chuckled, pointing at Robert.
"Hey, I'm the Fucking Nerd," Robert replied.
"Who are you supposed to be?" Blake asked Allen.
"Hello, I'm the Nostalgia Critic. I remember it so you don't have to," Allen said.
"The Angry Video Game Nerd and the Nostalgia Critic have a fictional rivalry with each other," Ricky said.
"I like your Winter Soldier costume. It goes well with your prosthetic arm," Jaune said.
"Thanks. I thought it works too," Ricky replied.
"Yo! Fellas!" a voice called to the group.
Everyone turned to see Teams OBSA and JAAR and Rin, Ronin, and Liberty. Oscar was dressed up as Doctor Stephen Strange from the MCU, Mercury as the Reverse Flash from the DC comics, Emerald as Aladdin from the movie of the same name, and Ilia as Pocahontas from the movie of the same name. Jesse was dressed up as Al Capone, Azumi as Ochaco Uraraka A.K.A. Uravity from My Hero Academia, Watson as Mark Hamill's Joker, and Jacket as Jacket from the video game Hotline Miami. Rin was dressed up as Wonder Woman from the DCEU, Ronin as Fonzie from Happy Days, and Liberty as Katniss Everdeen from The Hunger Games.
"Nice costume guys. Y'all look great," Kelly said.
"Thanks," Jacket replied.
"I wanted to go out as Momo, but went with this instead," Azumi said, gesturing to her costume.
"Probably a good idea," Kendra said.
"And I like your Katniss costume there Liberty," Allen said.
"Thanks. My sister likes it too," Liberty replied.
"By the way, happy birthday, Ruby," Watson said.
"Thanks, Watson," Ruby replied.
"Today is seriously Red's birthday?" Jacket asked.
"Yep," Yang, Blake, and Weiss, and GRMA, and CFDT all answered.
"We would have gotten you a birthday present if we had known," Jesse said.
"Sorry, Ruby," Azumi said.
"That's fine. At least we can all be here," Ruby said.
"Hey you guys," Jacob spoke to Rin, Ronin, and Liberty. "Not that any of us want her around, but where is Hera?"
"She should be around, but I'm not sure how you'll react when you see her," Ronin said.
"Why is that?" Ren asked.
"Uhhh... I think you all should take a look for yourselves," Britney said as she pointed her finger out.
Everyone turns to see what Britney was pointing at and sees Hera dressed in a spherical silver bodysuit with dark red puffs of cotton all over it.
"What is she supposed to be?" Oscar asked.
"She said she's COVID-19," Rin answered as she shook her head.
Everyone aside from Rin, Ronin, and Liberty all grew shocked upon hearing the answer.
"What the fucking hell is she thinking?!" Kendra asked.
"I doubt she was thinking at all," Mercury answered.
"She claims it's to spread awareness on the COVID outbreak and encourage everyone to take the vaccine," Liberty explained.
"I'm sure she's doing a real good job at that," Weiss sarcastically said.
"Shit. Here she comes," Ilia said.
Sure enough, Hera waddles over to the large group to confront them.
"What are you all wearing?" Hera asked with a raised eyebrow.
"Here's a better question; Why are you dressed up as COVID-19?!" Watson asked.
"To spread awareness! Duh!" Hera answered. "What are you all wearing? Do you realize what you are doing?!"
"Ah shit. Here we go," Jacob groaned.
"You are disgracing a great actor by wearing that crap," Hera shouts at Ren, while pointing her finger at him before turning her attention towards Jesse, Oscar, Ricky, Rin, and Ronin. "And you! You shouldn't be dressed like that! The people your dressed up as are all white!"
"Excuse me?" Ricky asked.
She then points her finger at Liberty. "And you! By dressing up as Katniss, you support child murder!"
"Now that's not true at all!" Liberty argued. "And how is this supporting child murder?"
Hera didn't pay attention to Liberty as she turned her head at Ruby.
"And you! Carmen Sandiego was Hispanic, not white!" she yelled.
"Does it even matter?! It's not our fault you hate everything that's fun! Your costume is the only thing that's offensive!" Allen retorted.
"Well excuse me for bringing awareness, asshole! This party is full of racists, sexists, homophobes, transphobes, and dumbasses that are inherently evil!" Hera yelled. "I'm out of here! This party is stupid!"
Hera turns around and begins to walk away.
"Yes! Please do! For all our sake!" Britney shouted.
"What a whiny bitch," Emerald said.
"We live in a society... where people like that exist," Watson said, gesturing to Hera.
"I told you all she sucks the fun out of everything," Jacob said.
"How about we all go and let Ruby check out her presents back to the dorms after the party?" Yang asked.
"Ohhh! And maybe tell some scary stories after that?!" Nora suggested.
"Sure. That sounds good," Jaune answered.
Everyone then continued to enjoy the rest of the party in the ballroom.
