Headmaster's Office
Inside General Ironwood's office, Winter stands beside General Ironwood as he sits behind his desk, waiting for someone to arrive. Soon after, the doors slid open as Teams GRMA, CFDT, JNPR, and JAAR, and Weiss, Blake, Yang, Emerald, Mercury, Ilia, Rin, Ronin, and Liberty all walked inside the General's office and up to his desk.
"We all heard what happened and came as soon as we could," Jacob said.
"How's Ruby doing?" Weiss asked.
"Still shaken up. She's in a dorm room with Penny and Oscar watching over her," Winter answered.
"And where are the bastards that tried to violate my sister?!" Yang angrily asked as her eyes turned red.
"Qrow is still out hunting for Basil, and the other three are locked up at the moment," Ironwood said.
"And they might face execution for murdering three of our men," Winter added.
"I thought you said that those three soldiers were just wounded," Watson said.
"They didn't make it. They succumbed to their wounds just a half an hour ago," Winter replied.
"So sexual assault and three second degree murders of three soldiers?" Jacket asked.
"According to Atlas law, the crime of sexual assault is twenty years to life. They would have gotten that if they hadn't killed three of my men. And the murder of an Atlas officer is an automatic death penalty," Ironwood explained.
The doors slide open as Hera angrily marches in. She shoveYang and Jaune out of her path and up to the front of the General's desk and slams the palms of her hands onto his desk.
"What's this I hear about you placing an arrest warrant on my brother?!" she shouted.
"He's facing charges of sexual assault and three second degree murders of three oh my men. Three of his friends aided in his actions and are locked up at the moment," Ironwood answered.
"I demand that you retract the warrant now!" Hera shouted.
"Bitch, what part of being charged with three counts of murder and sexual assault do you not understand?" Rebecca asked.
"Yeah! He'll be royally fucked once he's caught!" Watson said.
"And face execution for murdering three of General Ironwood's men," Ren added
Hera turns her head at Jacob with a furious look on her face.
"This is all your fault!" she yelled, pointing her finger at Jacob.
"My fault?! How is this my fault?! Your brother was the one that committed these crimes and I had nothing to do with this!" Jacob retorted.
"Because, if you hadn't broken up with me years ago, this wouldn't be happening!" Hera shouted.
"And what does this have to do with your brother becoming a wanted fugitive?!" Britney asked.
"Fucking everything!" Hera yelled.
"HOW?!" all the other students asked.
"I don't have time for this! I'm going out!" Hera shouted.
She turned around and out of the office as the doors slid closed behind her. General Ironwood pinches the bridge of his nose in irritation as he lets out a sigh.
"That girl..." he spoke as he shook his head.
"We know, General. That Karen is a real piece of work," Ricky said.
"She somehow makes Cardin more likable," Pyrrha added.
"Not even Cardin himself likes her," Watson added.
"I would say Hera would make Jacques Schnee look like a saint, but not even she likes him," Azumi said.
"At least that's something she can agree with us on," Weiss said.
"Speaking of which, how's the old bastard taking his loss in the election?" Robert asked.
"Currently drinking his sorrows away last I checked," Ironwood answered with a smirk. "And Team GRMA, Team CFDT, Mr. Jack, and Mr. Ray, who won the elections back in America?"
"Joe Biden won the election back home," Kelly answered.
"But it doesn't make any sense. I looked at the polls between that senile cracker and Trump, and President Trump seemed to have the victory in the bag, but his poll count just suddenly stopped while Biden's continued to climb, giving him victory," Jacket said.
"I know. Something just doesn't feel right," Britney said.
"I do remember Biden saying something about voter fraud during his campaign," Allen said. "Hold on and let me find it."
He pulls out his phone and starts tapping into it.
"That's too bad. President Trump's solutions like the founding of the U.H.L. did really help so far. As for this Biden character however... I don't know, he just seems off in my opinion," Ironwood said.
"Like most of the time he's not all there," Winter said.
"Exactly, Schnee," Ironwood agreed with a nod.
"Guys, I think I found it," Allen said.
He turns his phone around for all to see and plays a video of Biden speaking on camera.
"We have put together I think the most... extensive and inclusive voter fraud... organization in the history of American politics," Biden spoke.
Allen pauses the video as everyone in the room gives either a raised eyebrow, or suspicious look.
"That's a definite red flag right there," Yang said.
"He might as well just have said that he was going to cheat," Mercury said.
"Normally a statement like that will get you kicked off an election, but how he was allowed to continue I don't know," Winter said.
"I'm sure President Trump will look into this," Britney said.
"Ms. Xiao Long, Ms. Schnee, Ms. Belladonna, right now I would suggest meeting up with your team leader. I'm sure she'll need consoling from you three the most," Ironwood said.
"We were just going to ask about that," Blake said.
"You all can go now," Ironwood said.
The students all turned around and all walked out of the office.
Mantle
Meanwhile out in the streets of Mantle, Qrow was running down a street looking around for Basil for over a couple hours now. He stops and looks around for a moment, seeing if his target was around. He hears something coming from above him. Qrow looks up to see Clover swinging down towards him with Kingfisher.
"I heard you were out on a man hunt," Clover said.
"You're not stopping me from getting my hands on that little shit. The kid tried to stick his package where it shouldn't go," Qrow said.
"I'm not here to stop you, I'm here under orders to help look for Mr. Kingsley," Clover said.
"Fine. But, I'm still gonna tear that little creep up limb from limb!" Qrow said.
"Hey Qrow, you seem to want to be distant away from me whenever I show up. Care to explain why?" Clover asked.
Qrow was hesitant to answer, but after a short pause, he finally spoke.
"Look, I've been trying to avoid you because of what happened to you at the end of Volume 7. And I didn't want a repeat of that event," he explained.
"You mean when Callows killed me and framed you for my murder?" Clover asked.
"Exactly," Qrow answered.
Clover stared at Qrow for a moment before giving out a sigh.
"Look, I get that you're worried, but too much of the timeline that was originally intended for all of us has been altered too much, to the point where it would very likely not happen," Clover said.
"I know, but still, I can't get this off of my mind," Qrow said.
"Then try not to think about it too much. The more you do, the worse it will get," Clover said.
"Fine. I'll try," Qrow said.
Suddenly, the sound of an alarm blared out and the lights from the street lamps turned red. People were running and screaming past the two Huntsmen. as the sound of roaring was heard. Qrow and Clover turned their heads up ahead and drew their weapons, waiting for what was coming. A moment later, a pack of Sabyrs ran out from the corner and ran towards Qrow and Clover.
Suddenly a yellow-green portal appears just beneath a Sabyr's feet as it fell into portal. A second portal appears above the roof top of a building and the Sabyr fell out from the portal and on to the roof top. The sound of slashing could be heard ans Qrow and Clover wondered what was happening up there. Then jumping off from the top of the building, were four women. Qrow were confused and wondered who they were, but Clover however immediately realized who they were. They were known as Team BRIR (Briar).
The first woman has fair skin, short, platinum blonde hair boyishly spiked at the back with center unevenly parted bangs at the front and green eyes. She wears a two-tone white and gray sleeveless tank top and brown studded leather pauldrons that match her brown studded pants. The pauldrons themselves are connected with brass o-ring pieces that the leather wraps over, with brass studded tassels hanging at the bottom of the pauldrons, and a white cape hanging from the back. The center o-ring that connects the pauldrons together hangs unsuspended on her collarbone, while a second o-ring where her midriff would be is sewn at the bottom hem of her tank top, fastening up a leather strap that holds her studded pants up. She has a tattoo shared with those of her teammates' on the bottom of her right cheek. Like the rest of her team, she has golden spikes in her design, having them on her legs, pauldrons as well as on her segmented swords. This is the leader of Team BRIR, Bianca Prisma.
The second girl has dark skinned with red hair and matching crimson eyes. She styles her hair, evenly center parting her straightened crimson bangs, with large, twin dreadlocked pigtails tied together at the back with gold spiked ring headbands. She wears a white strapless leotard with a red triangle that exposes the majority of her arms, cleavage, and part of her hips, as they are underneath black shorts adorned with gold spikes at the sides. She also sports a black spiked collar with matching black spiked underarm pauldrons and long black gloves with large gold cylindrical cuffs. Her tank that holds the ammunition for her wrist cannon is fastened horizontally by a belt and studded leather straps on her waist attached onto a hardpoint to mount her tank on. Completing her ensemble is a pair of dark black trapezoidal sunglasses and dark rouge lipstick. She has a tattoo on her upper left leg. Like the rest of her team she has golden spikes in her design, having them on the sides of her pants and shoulder plates. This is the mellow, fiery second member, Roane Ashwood.
The third is an avocado green eyed, dark brown haired, pale-skinned girl. She styles her dark brown, bob cut straight hair parted to her left, wearing a one-piece forest green jumpsuit suspended by brown leather straps with golden buckles, exposing her collarbone and cleavage. A khaki asymmetrical corset belt is fastened around her jumpsuit horizontally by a dark brown leather belt studded with gold spikes with matching fastened belt buckle. On top of that, she wears a large, loose two-tone sleeveless avocado green leather jacket with gold spikes studded across a bright tan notch lapel, and a pair of opera length fingerless dark brown gloves with a tan slim strap on the tops. Topping her outfit off are a pair of dark brown knee high boots. She has a tattoo that is shared with her teammates on her left pectoral, right above her left breast. Like the rest of her team, she has golden spikes in her design, having them on her belt, jacket and earrings. This is the short-tempered Huntress of the team, Ivy Thickety.
The fourth is a red-headed girl with a slight tan, styling her straight orange hair with a parted fringe at the front and a loose top bun at the back, with a couple of loose strands and platinum streaks. She wears gunmetal gray circular goggles with an orange visor and bronze studs on the straps. Additionally, she wears a charcoal-colored cropped T-shirt that exposes her midriff underneath a cropped, lime green turtleneck sweater. She also wears presumably a pair of two-tone black and desert white pants, underneath two overlapping dark green belts, the larger one overlaid over the smaller belt wrapped diagonally from her top left to bottom right, adorned with gold spiked studs, and gunmetal gray belt buckle, while the smaller one inverts direction from top right to bottom left. She shares a tattoo with her team on her left arm, and wears two streaks of black face paint underneath her orange eyes. Like the rest of her team she has golden and bronze spikes in her design, having them on her goggles and belt. This is the cheerfully humble member of BRIR, Ruda Tilleroot.
Roane lands in front of a small group of Sabyrs as her eyes and hair start to glow fiery crimson with yellow tips. She points her flamethrower, Drop and Roll, at the charging Grimm and shoots out a large blast of fire at them, incinerating the oncoming Grimm.
Ivy activates her semblance, Threshold, and creates a portal right in front of her and with her whip, Pins and Needles, swings it into the portal. A second portal appears as Ivy's whip shoots out in front of two Sabyrs and wraps around a lampost.
Ruda looks up at two upcoming Sabyrs and then dives herself straight into the ground. She phases into the ground and moves towards the two Sabyrs with her semblance, Delve. Ruda jumps up from out of the ground and holding a pair of large mechanized drills, Wear and Tear, drives them into the Grimms' sides, killing them both at once.
Bianca hears a loud roar and turns her head to see an Ursa Major charging towards her. Bianca twirled her prism-like blades, Cause and Effect as reflective images of her teammates, Ivy and Ruda appeared on her blades. Bianca rushes toward the Ursa Major and as she did, she raises her hand as a portal appears in front of her, copying Ivy's semblance. She dives into the portal as a second portal appears above the Ursa Major. She exits out of the second portal and paises herself into the large Grimm, just like Ruda's semblance. This was the work of Bianca's semblance, Refraction. She swung her blades in a circular motion cutting the Ursa Major in half.
Qrow and Clover watched as the team of Huntresses killed off the Grimm with efficiency. With all the Grimm now dealt with, Team BRIR turns the attention toward Clover and Qrow.
"Well look who it is. Aren't you a sight for sore eyes, Clover," Bianca said.
"It's been a little while, Bianca. Might I ask what you're all doing here in Mantle? Working in big cities isn't normally your style," Clover said.
"Ever since The Great Merging, Earth's militaries had been fending off Grimm from the settlements all over Solitas," Roane answered.
"Stealing our jobs," Ivy added with an eye roll.
"So we thought we might as well go into Mantle and see what jobs we can do here," Ruda said.
"For now at least," Bianca added.
"The offer for a spot in the U.H.L. still stands, ladies," Clover said.
"We'll think about it," Bianca replied.
"Wait. before you leave, I have a question to ask," Qrow said as he pulled out his Scroll and showed them a photograph of Basil on it. "Have any of you seen this boy?"
'The four Huntresses took a look at the image of Basil for a short moment.
"Yeah. Last we saw him, was at the airport and went onto a flight an hour ago," Ivy answered.
"Dammit! Little bastard got away," Qrow growled.
"A girl had been with him before she left him at the airport," Ruda said.
"Girl?" Qrow asked.
Clover pulled out his Scroll and presented it to Team BRIR, revealing an image of Hera.
"Was it this girl?" Clover asked.
The four women took a look at the second image for a moment.
"Yep. That's her," Roane answered.
"She's in so much trouble when we get back," Clover muttered.
"If that's all, We'll be going," Bianca said.
Ivy swung her whip at the edge of a roof top and then swung away as Roane launched herself into the air with her flamethrower, while Bianca copied Roane's semblance and launched herself into the air with her, and Ruda dived into the ground. All of Team BRIR were now out of sight.
"So who were those ladies?" Qrow asked.
"Team BRIR. They're a team of rogue Huntress mercenaries that only serve and protect people for a price," Clover answered.
"In it for the lien, huh? Must be a handful," Qrow said.
"Sure we've had our ups and downs with them, but they've helped out in the end," Clover said.
"Care to tell?" Qrow asked.
"Sometime after the Battle of Beacon, Captain Gordon and his team, along with the Happy Huntresses, and me and the other Ace Ops encountered the them in the town of Essen, and would later discovered that in secret they were known as the Keepers of Arrowfell due to their role of watching over an abandoned Atlas military facility known as Fort Arrowfell and the technology that it housed left to them by General Ironwood's predecessors. The secret was to be taken with them to their graves as not even the Council knew about them and their roles." Clover explained.
"So what happened?" Qrow asked.
"Team BRIR inadvertently became a part of a conspiracy against Ironwood orchestrated by a rogue Huntsman named Bram Thornmane. He convinced them that the captain and his team and the Happy Huntresses were the ones stealing some technology from Fort Arrowfell in order to get rid of them, when in reality it was really Thornmane. When they found out about his lies, they decided to help us by giving us access to Fort Arrowfell, allowing us to arrest Thornmane," Clover explained.
"So what happened afterwards?" Qrow asked.
"Team BRIR was offered to be a part of the U.H.L., but they declined and stated that they'll keep in touch. Fort Arrowfell soon after became active under General Ironwood's orders," Clover answered.
"Sounds like you guys had a lot of better fun then I had," Qrow said.
"Feel free to tell me more," Clover said.

Dorm Room
Meanwhile inside a dorm room, Penny and Oscar were sitting on the bed with Ruby sitting in between them hugging her knees with a blank expression on her face. A moment later, the door opens as Yang, Blake, and Weiss enter inside.
"Hey, Ruby. Are you doing okay?" Yang asked.
Ruby didn't answer and was still motionless.
"She's been like this the entire time we were here," Oscar said.
"I am quite worried about her. She hasn't responded once," Penny said.
"Can you two leave us alone with Ruby for a bit?" Weiss asked.
Penny and Oscar stood up from the bed and walked out the door, closing the door behind them. Team RWBY was all that remained inside the dorm room.
"I've already called dad and told him what happened, Ruby. He's really worried about you. He said he'll meet us back at Beacon," Yang said.
"And Qrow is still out looking for Basil right now, and knowing him he won't stop until he finds him," Blake said.
"And then probably murder him," Weiss muttered.
Ruby still sat in silence, nor did she even budge. Weiss, Blake, and Yang all sat around her on the bed. Yang wraps her arm around her sister.
"Ruby, remember when we promised that we'd all be there for you when something's wrong with you? Even if you don't want to talk about it?" Yang asked.
"Well we're here now. And even if you don't feel like talking, we'll still be there for you," Weiss said.
"And that goes for the others too," Blake added.
Ruby was motionless for a moment until she wrapped her arms around her teammates as tears streamed down her cheeks.
"Thanks..." she spoke.
