David woke up to the sound of his alarm blaring. He sat up in bed, but didn't stand up. He grabbed his phone and saw that it was 6:30 am on Friday. He placed his phone back on the bed and rubbed his face. Suddenly, he heard the sound of his door opening and looked up to see his mom entering the room.

"Oh, you're awake! I was just about to come in and wake you, mi hijo," David's mom said with a warm smile.

"It's okay, Mama," David said, his voice full of reassurance. He stood up and stretched his muscles, a smile tugging at the corners of his mouth. "I'll be at the table in a minute," he added, his voice full of warmth and affection. His mom smiled and nodded before leaving, closing the door behind her.

Once David finished his stretches, he got into his clothes. He was now wearing a green hoodie, a white T-shirt, baggy jeans, and a pair of white Air Force sneakers. His outfit gave him a feeling of confidence

When he arrived at the table, he was delighted to see both of his sisters already there, happily munching on their toast and cooking with a cup of milk. His mom was also there, sitting next to his sisters with her steaming cup of coffee.

"Good morning, princess," David said, planting a kiss on his little sister Lisa's forehead as he sat down beside her.

"Hola hermano" lisa Lisa said with a smile as she ate her cookies.

"You picking them up or should I?" David asked after finishing eating some of his sister's cookies, a hint of excitement in his voice.

"It's your turn, mijo," David's mom said with a warm smile and a twinkle in her eye. "Let's go, girls, and go pick up your stuff!"

"Okay bye mom," David said, giving her a warm hug and a kiss on the cheek. The girls followed suit, giving her a hug and a kiss before getting inside David's truck. He smiled at them reassuringly as he started the engine, ready to take them to school.

After dropping the girls off, he rushed to school, already late for his first period. He didn't seem to care, though, as his first period was computer lab.

"Wazz up, man?" Armando said, extending his hand for a handshake with David.

David asked sitting next to him, "Did you get any sales today?" with a hopeful expression on his face.

"Yeah, I got 4 for now," Armando said, his face lighting up with excitement. "How about you?"

"3 for now," David said, turning on his computer with a hint of excitement in his voice.

They continued talking animatedly as they worked on the class assignment. Once the class was over, they made their way eagerly to the people they were going to sell to.

As David walked to his next class, he noticed people hurrying to get to class before the second bell rang. When he turned the corner, he saw Dexter being bullied by three guys, who had him pinned up against the wall. David felt a surge of anger and indignation, and he quickly ran over to help him.

One guy said, "So, nerd, did you finish our homework like we asked?"

"Well you see," Dexter said, his voice trembling with emotion as he looked at the guys who were bullying him.

"Before you finished that sentence, it better be something good we want to hear, or else" another guy warned.

"I'm sorry," Dexter said, regretfully, as he looked at the guy in front of him. "I didn't get to finish y'all's homework; I only got halfway through."

"Well, that's not what we wanted to hear," one guy said, his voice heavy with disappointment.

"So you know what's coming next now," another guy said, his eyes gleaming with anticipation. He pumped his knuckles eagerly, ready for whatever was about to happen.

Dexter felt a sudden rush of fear as he saw the guy in front of him winding up to throw a punch. He quickly closed his eyes and raised his arm to shield himself, bracing for the impact. But instead of a punch, he heard a loud thud and a few other unfamiliar noises.

After a few seconds had passed, Dexter slowly opened his eyes to see David standing in front of him, his face contorted with rage as he shouted at the guys who were about to hit him, lying helplessly on the floor.

"Next time y'all better pick on someone your own size," David said sternly, his face contorted with rage.

Dexter continued to stare at him with a look of awe, as if he were a famous celebrity. His eyes were filled with admiration and admiration.

David turned to look at Dexter with a questioning expression and asked, "Where is your class?"

"Just around the corner," Dexter said with a confused look.

David began to stride away without so much as a glance back at the guys he had just beat up, a determined glint in his eye. "Come on then," he said, his voice full of conviction. Dexter followed, feeling a swell of admiration.

"Yes sir!" Dexter exclaimed, catching up to David with a determined look on his face.

Dexter asked while turning the corner, his voice full of concern, "Do you think they're going to be alright?".

"Yeah, they're really lucky today," David said with a smile.

"Here I am," Dexter said excitedly, standing in front of his class door with a smile on his face.

David said, "After this period is over, wait for me here. I'll come and pick you up - got it?" His voice was full of emotion.

"Yess sir!" Dexter exclaimed with a hint of excitement as David walked away, leaving him feeling a sense of accomplishment.

As David trudged to his reading class, he was filled with dread, knowing he was going to be late. But to his surprise, the teacher didn't seem to mind, as long as he didn't disrupt the class when he entered.

For the rest of the period, Dexter thought intently on ways he could repay David for saving him. He knew he couldn't use homework as payment, since David had no interest in his grades or anything school-related. He racked his brain for ideas until he remembered he had something special he had crafted a while back.

"Yes, that just might work!" Dexter thought with a spark of hope as he scribbled away in his journal, ignoring the rest of the class.

Afterward, Dexter was the last one to exit the class. When he emerged, he saw David waiting for him by the class door.

David asked, "Ready to go? And by any chance, do you have A lunch?"

Dexter just node and then started to walk to the cafeteria. When they arrived, they went to sit at a table while they waited for the lunch lines to get shorter. In the meantime, David was introducing him to some of his friends who were also sitting at the table.

"Line has finally gone down," one of David's friends said with a hint of relief in their voice. "Anyone coming?"

David asked, "Am I going?

"I'm also going," Dexter said, standing up with a few other guys from the table and a hint of excitement in his voice.

As David lined up, he heard someone call out his name. Turning to his left, he saw Jack striding towards him, accompanied by two other guys.

Jack glared at David, his voice full of rage as he spoke. "I heard you took out some of my men earlier today. What do you have to say for yourself?"

"Yeah, I did," David said, his voice tinged with defiance. "You got a problem with that?"

"Actually I do, bitch," Jack said, his voice rising with anger.

"Well then, what are you trying to do?" David asked, his face still expressionless.

"You know the same as always," Jack said, throwing a punch. But David was ready for it; he punched Jack faster and harder, catching him off guard. His face contorted with rage as he felt the impact of David's fist.

Afterward, hell broke loose as David punched Jack all over his face, stomach, and other areas. Dexter simply stood by the sidelines, observing the fight while his friends kept a lookout for anyone who might be brave enough to intervene and help Jack out.

After what seemed like an eternity, the police finally arrived and apprehended David, tackling him to the ground and securing him with handcuffs. Despite the situation, David had a slight smile on his face as he was taken away, with Jack close behind.

"So what now?" Dexter asked, his eyes filled with a mix of confusion and concern as he looked at David's friends.

"Well now we get our delicious lunch and then we can go about our exciting day," one of David's friends said, eagerly anticipating getting lunch.

After explaining what had occurred to the principal and delivering a stern lecture, he paid little attention to the words being spoken. His emotions were unmoved and he remained indifferent.

"You can stay or you can go; it's entirely up to you," the principal said sternly, his gaze fixed on David.

David said standing up and walking to the door, as he added, "I'll leave."

The principal sternly said to David, "You are suspended for one week. I better not see you here next week!" as he opened the door and motioned for a police officer to escort David out to the parking lot.

David was just about to start his truck when he caught a glimpse of something out of the corner of his eye. He saw Dexter coming out of the school, but he couldn't tell what he was doing. His curiosity piqued, David watched intently as Dexter made his way out of the building.

Dexter was filled with excitement as he had an early release from school and was now waiting for the bus to take him home. He didn't have a car, so the bus was his only option. He couldn't help but feel a sense of anticipation as he waited for the bus to arrive.

David decided to whistle cheerfully, as he didn't feel like screaming in frustration. Dexter was daydreaming contentedly when he heard someone whistle, and out of curiosity he turned around to his surprise it was David beckoning him to come to him. So he went to David, as he knew he still had time before the bus arrived.

"Come on, get in!" David said as Dexter approached. With a smile, Dexter hopped into the front seat and placed his backpack on his lap.

"Need a ride home" David asked while putting in the keys into the truck.

"Yeah, if you don't mind," Dexter said, fastening the seatbelt with a hint of enthusiasm.

"Nah, I don't mind," David said, grabbing his phone. "Just give me your location and I'll come take you."

"Thanks and here," Dexter said, sending him the location with a smile. David drove off.

"So you got suspended for the following week," Dexter said, shaking his head in disbelief.

"Yep, not like I care," David said with a smile, "but they're definitely making my life a lot easier."

They continue chatting and laughing merrily as they drive along, their conversation filled with lighthearted banter and cheerful emotions.

"Here we are," David said, his voice filled with excitement as he pulled up to Dexter's house.

"Thanks so much for the ride," Dexter said gratefully.

"No problem," David said cheerfully, "if you ever need a ride, just ask; I'm more than happy to give you one!"

"I'll keep that in mind for next time," Dexter said with a grateful smile. "But if you have a few minutes, I'd really like to show you something as a way of thanking you for earlier today."

"Yeah, I could spare a few minutes," David said, a hint of excitement in his voice as he got out of his truck and followed Dexter to his house.

When they arrived at the front door, Dexter eagerly opened it with his own key.

David stepped inside the house, his voice filled with hope as he asked, "Is anyone here by any chance?"

"Yeah, usually my mom is somewhere around here," Dexter said, closing the door with a hint of apprehension in his voice.

"I see" David said looking around the living room and seeing different pictures of different things.

"Why don't we go to the kitchen where she usually is?" Dexter said eagerly, his eyes bright with anticipation as he headed towards the kitchen, with David following close behind him.

"Hello mom, I'm home!" Dexter said excitedly.

"Well, you're early today," Ms. Dexter said with a warm smile, her eyes twinkling with delight.

"Well, I had someone drop me off today and I invited him inside to show him something," Dexter said excitedly.

Ms Dexter said, "really well, I should introduce myself and thank him sincerely for his kind hospitality".

"That's okay," Dexter said reassuringly, "you don't have to."

Ms. Dexter turned around with a grateful smile and said, "I just want to express my deepest gratitude to whoever this kind soul is for giving my son a ride home. I am truly thankful!" David then stepped into the kitchen, feeling touched by the gesture.

Dexter smiled warmly as he introduced the two people in front of him. "Mom, this is the kind gentleman who gave me a ride home from school. David, I'd like you to meet my mom."

"Nice to meet you too, Ms. Dexter," David said with a warm smile, extending his hand to shake hers.

Ms. Dexter said, "Same goes for me, David. Nice to meet you," with a smile, taking off her yellow gloves and shaking his hand.

"Well, let's go to my room," Dexter said excitedly.

"Alright then, let's go!" David said, his face lighting up with excitement as he followed Dexter.

"Have a great time, y'all two, and be sure to keep the mess to a minimum!" Ms. Dexter said with a warm smile, her eyes twinkling with joy.

"We won't, Mom," Dexter said, his voice full of emotion.

Dexter's mom got back to washing dishes with a heavy heart. She had this uncanny ability to read people, to sense how they might act in any given situation. When she looked at David, she could tell he was a kind and gentle soul, but she also knew that he had a hidden strength and a fierce determination that could make him a formidable opponent if the need arose.

"As long as my beloved son remains unharmed, I have no cause for concern about him being in your presence, David," Ms. Dexter thought happily.

When they arrived at Dexter's room, he proudly displayed some of his science-related possessions, adding a few words of explanation and a hint of emotion to each one.

David said, looking at Dexter with a curious, straight face, "I know this is not what you wanted to show me,"

"You're right, this is not what I expected," Dexter said, his voice tinged with surprise and excitement as he walked towards the wall and pressed the button. With a loud whirring sound, the wall opened up to reveal an elevator.

"Woah," David was taken aback with surprise when he saw the elevator emerge from the wall.

"Come on!" Dexter said, his voice full of enthusiasm as he stepped into the elevator, with David following close behind.

David asked, "Won't your mom hear the elevator going down?" with a hint of curiosity in his voice.

"Nah, everything is soundproof; she won't hear a thing," Dexter said with a reassuring smile.

"Damm...but how?" David said, his eyes wide with amazement as he took in the sight of all the gadgets and other things before him. His voice was tinged with a hint of frustration, but also a spark of hope.

"I know right!" Dexter said with a big, beaming smile

David looked around the lab, his expression a mix of confusion and curiosity. "All this looks cool and nice," he said, "but you didn't bring me down here just to show me your toy. So what's the real reason?"

"You're right, it's not enough. I wanted to thank you for what you did earlier today and all the other times you've helped me without expecting anything in return. So I want to give you this," Dexter said, pulling out a small vial filled with a bright blue liquid. His eyes were filled with gratitude and appreciation, and his voice was full of emotion.

"What is it David asking as he stares at the object in his hand?"

"Well, that in simple terms, it's an enhancement with many benefits," Dexter said, smiling broadly.

David still looked at the tube with a sense of longing, as if he was hoping for something more, and he asked with a hint of emotion, "Like what?"

"Like super strength, increased stamina, speed enhancement, durability enhancement, enhanced reflexes, enhanced senses, perfect memory, accelerated healing factor, and a few other things," Dexter said, his eyes widening with excitement as he read from the notebook he had taken out.

"Woah," David asked, looking at Dexter with surprise and disbelief, "are you sure you want to give me this?"

Dexter said with a warm smile, "I truly mean it, you can have it."

David said, "Okay and thank you so much—I really appreciate it!" Dexter slowly nodded his head, his expression thoughtful and contemplative.

"Okay," David said, his voice tinged with confusion, "do I drink it, or is there another way to do it?"

"There's another way," Dexter said, his voice full of determination as he walked to one of his rooms, with David following closely behind. "It's by injection," he added, his eyes burning with emotion.

David handed the tube back to dexter and said, "You need to get into the pot and I'll hook up the liquid so you can be injected. Take off your clothes, okay?" His voice was filled with concern and compassion.

David removed his jacket, shirt, and shoes with a sense of relief and eagerly climbed into the pod.

"It might hurt a little, so if you feel like you want to stop, I'll stop," Dexter said, his voice tinged with concern as the pod slowly closed around him. He adjusted his lab coat and put on his goggles, ready for whatever was to come.

"Okay, thanks for the heads up," David said, a little nervously.

"Okay here we go," Dexter said, starting the process with a determined look on his face. He took out more tubes like the one he had shown David and started to arrange them in a precise order. When he placed them, they went inside and injected David with the necessary chemicals. His heart raced with anticipation as he watched the process unfold. He hoped that this would be the answer to all those time David helped him.

"Okay, almost there!" Dexter exclaimed excitedly.

David felt the injection inject for a few seconds and it hurt a little, but afterward he heard Dexter saying it was almost done. He felt a wave of relief wash over him, but it was quickly replaced by a sense of anticipation as he waited for the injection to take effect. After a few seconds, he saw everything start to become brighter and the pain began to subside. He felt a sense of hope that the injection would be successful and he could finally start to feel better.

Once Dexter had completed the final step, he went to check on David. He stood by patiently as the pod door slowly opened. His heart was filled with anticipation as he waited to see his friend.

"You okay there, man?" Dexter asked, concerned, as he saw David just laying there in the pod after the process was done. His voice was full of worry and compassion as he waited for a response.

"Yeah, I'm okay," David said, opening his eyes and forcing a weak smile. Dexter walked over to him and helped him to a bed, where he could get a further check-up.

"Well, everything seems to be alright," Dexter said, checking David's body health with a reassuring smile.

"I looked the same, but yet I feel so different now," David said with a bittersweet smile as he checked himself in the bed.

"It's okay to feel overwhelmed and exhausted after the process you just went through," Dexter said, scribbling down his words on a clipboard. He paused for a moment, then added, "It's normal to feel a range of emotions right now. Take your time and be gentle with yourself."

David asked, his voice tinged with a mix of confusion and anticipation, "Okay, so what now?" After some time had passed since he had emerged from the pod, he waited for an answer.

"Well now, take it easy for the rest of the day and tomorrow," Dexter said kindly, handing him back his T-shirt and shoes. "Give your body some time to adjust to the serum and get some rest. You'll feel better soon."

"Understood," David said, standing up after putting his clothes back on. His voice was gentle and reassuring, conveying a sense of understanding and compassion. "I'll take it easy," he added.

Dexter rose from his seat he said, "I shouldn't keep you any longer. I'm sure you have other places to be."

They took the elevator back to Dexter's room and walked to the living room, chatting animatedly about all sorts of topics.

"Leaving already? I wish you could have stayed for some lunch," Ms. Dexter said, her voice tinged with regret as she emerged from the kitchen.

"Yeah, I'm sorry," David said with a smile and a small wink to Dexter. "But I have to go and pick up my sister from school. Maybe next time when I come, I can have some of your delicious food that Dexter loves to talk about!"

Dexter raised his eyebrows in surprise, for he had never spoken to David before and had never revealed to anyone that his mother's cooking was the best. His expression was one of awe and admiration, as if he had just discovered something extraordinary

"Really, my son Dexter talks about my cooking all the time," Ms. Dexter said, looking at David with a fond smile before turning to Dexter.

"Yeah, he always talks about what he ate last night and how delicious it was. I wish I could get to try it sometime," David said with a cheerful grin.

"Well, we do have that project we have to finish," Dexter said, trying to get back at David for revealing his small secret. "Why don't you come by tomorrow around 3 o'clock?.

"Yeah, that sounds nice. Do you have time to spread it out tomorrow?" David asked Dexter, looking at him intently.

"Yeah, I do, and I'll come tomorrow then."" David said, his voice full of determination as he walked out and headed to his truck.

When he arrived at his sister's school, he parked his truck and waited for her to emerge. As he waited, he gazed up at the sky, his emotions a mix of anticipation and excitement.

David thought that he better keep this a secret, otherwise who knows what people could do to just get a examples of his blood. He then saw his sister come out of the school building and make her way to his truck and get inside.

David gave his sister a warm smile as she put her backpack on her lap, "ready to go".

"Yeah, I have everything and hola hermano!" His sister said with a beaming smile.

They went and picked up his little sister next, when they arrived he asked her, "Do you want to stay or come along?" David inquired of his sister who was on her phone.

"I'll stay," his sister said, not looking away from her phone.

Hello, who did you come to pick up? the random teacher asked David, and David told her who he had come to pick up.

He looked around and saw people happily picking up their kids, and when he felt something on his legs, he looked down and saw his sister beaming up at him with a joyful smile.

"Hello, princesa," David said, picking up his sister and her hugging his neck with a beaming smile.

"Ready to go?" David asked with a cheerful smile, and his little sister smiled and nodded her head in agreement.

When they got home they saw there mom also arriving and exiting her car, and their faces lit up with joy. The girls ran up to her and excitedly started to talk about their day while David followed behind them, beaming with pride.

"So I got a call from school and I was wondering if there was anything you wanted to tell me" David's mom asked, her voice tinged with worry and anticipation as she dried the plates while he washed them after they finished eating.

David went and explained to his mom about the kids bully, Dexter, and why he got into a fight at lunch.

"So that explain your one week suspension," David's mom said, drying her hand from washing plates "You better have something to do for a week," she added sternly.

David said, drying his hands, "I'll come up with something" with a determined and hopeful expression.

"You'll be going to meet Armando" David's mom asked.

"Yeah" David said grabbing his truck keys from the table.

"Well take care mijo," Davids mom said.

"I will, Mama," David said, kissing her forehead tenderly and then going to the living room to kiss his two sisters' foreheads lovingly before leaving.

David eagerly went and picked up Armando, and then they both hurriedly went to the warehouse to start preparing to sell for the day.

Armando asked, "How long have you got?" as he began packing some weed.

"One whole week," David said, measuring the weed.

"Damm" Armando exclaimed, "that really sucks; you'd better find something to do to pass the time."

Nah but I'll think of something, David said with a determined expression.

"Good luck with that," Armando said with a smile.

They continued packing and talking until they were done, then they went out to sell and deliver at night.

They just finished delivering their last drop when David was driving Armando back to his house.

"We don't have any in sell on the morning, only a few in the afternoon," Armando said, counting the money.

"So we got time to get something to eat," David said, hopeful.

"Yeah," Armando said, putting the money in a plastic bag.

"Well, catch you later man, take care," David said, pulling up to Armando's house.

"You too man, take care," Armando said, getting out and getting inside his house.

When David got home, he saw both of his sisters watching a movie in the living room and his mom on the couch doing something on her phone.

"Welcome back, hermano," David's sister said, while his little sister ran to him.

"Hola, princesa," David said, walking to his sister while carrying his little sister.

"Hola, mijo," David's mom said, looking up from her phone.

"Hola, mamá, I brought you a little monster," David said with a smile, placing his little sister on his mom's lap as she laughed.

They continued watching the movie and then went to bed. David took a shower before going to bed, but once he got inside the covers, everything that had happened that day finally caught up to him. Luckily, he didn't have school, so he didn't set his alarm; he just went to sleep.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read my work and point out any mistakes I made or areas that need fixing. I really appreciate it and it means a lot to me.
