Oldale Town
The Kanker Sisters have finally arrived at Oldale Town. They are looking for the Pokemon Center where they plan on signing up to compete in the Hoenn League.
"Where is that Pokemon Center?" asked Lee.
"What does one look like?" asked May. A little boy walks over to them.
"I know where it is; it's over there." said the boy, pointing at the Pokemon Center. Without even thanking the boy, the Kankers run over to the Pokemon Center. Once they entered the Pokemon Center, they begin looking around.
"Excuse me but do you girls need anything?" asked a nurse from behind a counter. The Kankers walk over to the nurse.
"Yeah, we hear we can sign up for this Hoenn League here." said Lee.
"Yes, you can." said the nurse. "Do you three have any Pokemon that need healing?"
"Yeah." said Marie as she, May, and Lee take their pokeballs out of their pockets and give them to the nurse. The nurse then gives each of the sisters a tablet.
"You three need to fill out these applications to be able to compete in the Hoenn League." said the nurse. "After that, I will need to take your pictures for your Trainer identification cards and then you will be fully registered." The Kankers sat on chairs and began filling out the applications. After they finished, they gave them to the nurse who then proceeded to take their pictures for their identification cards. After taking May and Marie's pictures, Lee walks to the wall and looks at the camera.
"Be sure to get my good side, lady." said Lee.
"I guess that rules out your face then." said Marie as Lee got her picture taken. (a/n: That line was from the episode, 'Smile for the Ed'. We loved that line.) Lee then runs after Marie. May walks over to the nurse.
"Hey, I hear you can get some food for free here." said May, making Lee and Marie stop.
"Yes, you can." said the nurse. She points at the cafeteria. "The cafeteria is right over there." The Kankers run over to the cafeteria, shoving each other on the way, making the nurse sweatdrop. Twenty minutes later, several people sitting at tables were looking over at the table where the Kankers were sitting, watching in shock and disgust as the Kankers were messily devouring their food and pouring their drinks into the mouths. A man sitting at a table next to theirs was looking at a partly eaten sandwich he was holding before setting it on his plate.
"All of a sudden, I'm not so hungry anymore." said the man. May grabs the sandwich.
"If you don't want it, I'll take it." said May and she eats the sandwich in one bite. Minutes later, the Kankers were sitting at their table, patting their bellies and Lee was picking at her teeth with a toothpick.
"That hit the spot." said Lee. Marie lets out a loud belch. At another table, two girls were looking at them with disgusted looks on their faces.
"What a bunch of pigs." one of the girls said to the other one. Lee turned towards the girls and glares at them.
"What did you call us?!" yelled Lee.
"Pigs. I mean, by the way you are eating your food." said the girl. The Kankers stood up and glared at them.
"You want to settle this outside?!" asked Lee.
"You mean with a Pokemon battle?" replied the girl.
"Uh, yeah, a Pokemon battle." said Lee.
"There are battle arenas behind the Pokemon Center." said the other girl.
"Fine. Just let me get my Pokemon from the nurse." said Lee. The girls then left the cafeteria and walked over to the nurse who gives them their Pokemon.
"Here you go, girls. Your Pokemon are fully healed." said the nurse. "By tomorrow, your identification cards should be complete." Without even thanking the nurse, the Kankers and the two girls walk out a back entrance of the Pokemon Center and walked over to a battle arena where Lee stood on one side and one of the girls stood on the other. May, Marie, and the other girl sat on a bench.
"So how does using one Pokemon each sound?" asked the girl.
"Yeah, whatever." replied Lee. The girl takes a pokeball out of her pocket. She throws it and releases a Pokemon that looked like a white Cascoon.
"Why does that Cascoon look white?" asked May.
"She's a Silcoon." replied the girl.
"Silcoon?" replied Lee. She takes out the pokedex and points it at Silcoon.
"Silcoon, the Cocoon Pokemon. Silcoon was thought to endure hunger and not consume anything before its evolution. However, it is now thought that this Pokémon slakes its thirst by drinking rainwater that collects on its silk." said the pokedex.
"Why does that Pokemon kind of look like my Cascoon?" asked Lee.
"That's because a Wurmple can evolve into one of two different Pokemon; a Silcoon, or a Cascoon." explained the girl.
"Oh." said Lee as she takes out a pokeball and throws it, releasing her Torchic.
"Silcoon, use Tackle!" said the girl. The girl's Silcoon leaps at Torchic and rams into her.
"Oh yeah?" replied Lee. "Torchic, use Ember!" Torchic opens her mouth and releases bits of fire at the Silcoon, hitting it, and doing enough super effective damage to knock it out.
"Nice one, Lee!" said May. Lee's opponent drops to her knees, then returns her Silcoon to its pokeball.
"Well, at least we're near a Pokemon Center." said the girl. She then walks over to Lee and hands her pokedollars.
"What's this?" asked Lee.
"Pokedollars. It's currency in Pokemon regions." said the girl.
"Why are you giving Lee money?" asked Marie.
"I take it you three are new to Pokemon battles against other trainers." replied the girl.
"Yeah? So?" responds Lee.
"After a Pokemon battle between two trainers; the losing trainer has to give the winning trainer half his or her money." answered the girl. The Kankers' eyes lit up with dollar signs.
"Sounds like easy money!" said Marie.
"Yeah, I want to take on the next trainer!" said May. The friend of the girl Lee defeated steps forward.
"I'll take you on if you want." said the girl.
"Sure." said May. She and the girl walk to the battle arena and they each stood on one end of it. May and the girl each pull out a pokeball.
"Go, Lotad!" said the girl, throwing a pokeball and releasing a small blue Pokemon that looked like it had a lilypad on top of it.
"What the heck is that?" asked Lee. She pulls the pokedex out of her pocket and points it at the Pokemon.
"Lotad, the Water Weed Pokemon. Lotad is said to have dwelled on land before. However, this Pokémon is thought to have returned to water because the leaf on its head grew large and heavy. It now lives by floating atop the water." said the pokedex.
"Go, Treecko!" said May, throwing Treecko's pokeball and releasing her. "Treecko, Leer!" Treecko glares at Lotad and her eyes glow blue, weakening Lotad's defense.
"Lotad, Growl!" said Lotad's trainer. Lotad emits a loud cry and releases soundwaves onto Treecko, weakening her attacks strength.
"Quick Attack!" said May. Treecko charges at Lotad with incredible speed and rams it, knocking it back.
"Astonish!" said Lotad's trainer. Lotad leaps towards Treecko and makes a scary face at her, scaring her and damaging her.
"Absorb!" said May. Treecko releases a red beam of energy from her hand and it hits Lotad, hitting it and absorbing its stamina. Treecko's wound was healed and Lotad collapses. "Way to go, Treecko!" Treecko looks at May and does a fist pump. Lotad's trainer returns Lotad to its pokeball. She walks over to Lee.
"Good battle." said Lotad's trainer. She gives May pokedollars and she and Silcoon's trainer both walk to the Pokemon Center. May looks at the pokedollars.
"This Pokemon trainer stuff is so great." said May.
"Earning easy money. Must be why my Eddy loves this Pokemon trainer thing." said Lee.
"I'll face the next trainer we meet." said Marie. May lets out a yawn.
"I'm sleepy." said May.
"Yeah, I'm beat." said Lee. The Kankers walk to the Pokemon Center where Lee gives the nurse Cascoon's pokeball and May gives her Treecko's. The nurse tells them where the shower area is. After the Kankers showered, the nurse gives them a key to a vacant sleeping area. They went to the room and they each climbed onto a seperate bed and fell asleep.
