AN: So, I finally got around to writing Gabe's response to Nathan's letter. That chapter was titled Nathan: Dear Gabe if you need or want to reread it. Enjoy!

Dear Nathan,

It is about damn time! I also hope that by the time this letter reaches you that you have not only asked Elizabeth out again but have gone on that second date!

It does get easier, my friend. Know though that all those fears and insecurities that you are feeling are the same ones that everyone else feels when they first start courting a woman. Even the trouble with trying to figure out what to do with the noses! However, most of us are figuring those things out around the age of fifteen and not after we have already passed thirty!

Yes, I grinned through your whole letter and I might still be grinning as I write this. Know though that I am happy for you. You deserve to find someone to share your life with. Someone who stirs emotions within us that take us out of our quiet, routine lives and allows us to explore the ups and downs of love. No, love is not all roses, candles, smiles, and kisses. Love is like the rolling plains, a never ending series of ups and downs that force us to grow and explore all this life has to offer. There was time I thought I would be taking that adventure with Vanessa. It broke my heart when she told me that if I was going to become a Mountie then we were through. I do not regret loving Vanessa and even if you and Elizabeth do not work out, you will not regret any time you spent with her. Even from a distance I have seen how she has changed you for the good. She has opened you up and made you question aspects of yourself. She has put a smile on your face and helped you to find that easy going nature that you had when we first met. Whatever happens my friend, remember how to laugh and smile again.

So, giving how much time you spent staring at your plate at the café, what did they look like?

Your friend,

Gabe
