David and Armando were stepping out of the truck and heading towards Tucker's front door. Upon arriving, they knocked a few times, and a few seconds later, he opened the door.
"Hey, come in," Tucker said with a smile as he swung open his door, and they eagerly walked inside.
"So, what is this thing you didn't want to talk about over the phone?" Armando asked, his curiosity evident as he glanced at Tucker while stepping in, and Tucker closed the door behind them.
"Hello, boys," a man greeted, sitting on the couch and smiling at David and Armando as they entered the living room.
"What's going on?" David questioned, a mix of surprise and suspicion crossing his face as he observed the man seated on the couch with Armando standing by his side.
"Why don't you take a seat first, and then I'll explain," the man said, gesturing towards the couch.
"This must be serious if you're the one doing all the talking instead of Tucker," Armando remarked, a hint of concern in his voice, as both he and David settled onto one couch while Tucker took a seat next to the man.
"Yes, it is," Tucker affirmed, his gaze fixed on them.
"From now on, call me Mr. S, as I am Mr. T's right-hand man," Mr. S declared, his eyes locked on them.
"Okay, Mr. S, what can we do to help you today?" David asked, his eyes shifting between tucker and Mr. S,
"Two individuals have made their way into your town, and Mr. T wants them dead. It's now up to both of you to get it done," Mr. S stated, his gaze fixed on them, while Tucker placed two pictures of the targets on the coffee table for David and Armando to examine.
"Why should we do this?" Armando questioned, his gaze focused on the pictures.
"Because you are now part of the cartel. It's an order, and it's a way to prove yourselves to the higher-ups that you can follow orders," Mr. S explained, his tone firm as he looked at them.
"What do we get in return?" David inquired, his eyes shifting between Mr. S and the pictures on the table, a glimmer of calculation in his gaze.
"Bigger package for half the price next time," Mr. S offered, his tone carrying a hint of enticement, causing David and Armando to exchange another glance.
"Where do we find them?" Armando asked, his voice tinged with a mix of determination and curiosity.
"They are staying at the Spectrum Motel, located on the outskirts of town. You both know where that is, right?" Mr. S said, reading from a piece of paper he held, his words carrying a matter-of-fact tone.
"Yeah, we know where that is, and we'll get it done," David affirmed with determination, both he and Armando rising from their seats, ready to take action.
"About the bodies..." Armando began, his voice trailing off as they prepared to leave.
"Don't worry about it; I'll take care of it," Mr. S assured them, his gaze steady as they turned to walk away.
"Call me once you've completed the job," Tucker chimed in, watching them depart, a mix of concern and support in his voice.
"Good word of advice: if these two are anything like their friends, they'll likely avoid daylight and only come out after dark," Mr. S warned, causing David and Armando to pause and look back at him, nodding in acknowledgement before resuming their walk towards the front door, finally leaving.
"Do we have anyone guarding the suspects?" Tucker inquired, his voice reflecting a mix of concern and caution, as he checked to ensure David and Armando were no longer within earshot.
"Yep, just a few guys, just in case they fail to show up or can't complete the job. Why, are you doubting their capabilities?" Mr. S asked, his gaze fixed on Tucker, searching for any signs of uncertainty.
"No, I know they can handle it. I was just checking," Tucker reassured, a touch of relief evident in his voice as they continued their conversation.
As they left Tucker's house, David took the wheel, steering towards the warehouse, engaging in small talk with Armando along the way.
"So, do you have a plan?" Armando asked, his eyes fixed on the road ahead.
"Yeah, we'll head to the warehouse, change our gear, and wait until it's dark. Then we'll retrieve my dad's truck from its hiding spot and use that to get to the motel and get the job done," David explained, his thoughts weaving together as he considered the best course of action, his attention divided between the road and his plan.
"Sounds like a solid plan, at least for now," Armando responded, still focused on the road.
After David and Armando arrived at the warehouse, they quickly donned dark clothing and waited there, engaging in conversation until nightfall. As darkness blanketed the surroundings, they calmly walked to a nearby vacant lot, not far from the warehouse. They then hopped into David's father's truck and headed towards the motel.
"So do we just wait here until one of them emerges, or what?" Armando asked, gazing at the motel across the road.
"Yep, luckily there aren't many guests staying tonight," David replied, his eyes fixed on the cars parked in the motel's lot.
"Who would willingly stay in a rundown place like this?" Armando commented, watching a car pass.
"People who are running away or don't have much money, I suppose," David responded, his voice filled with a hint of understanding. He continued scanning the surroundings.
"Well, here we go. I see someone stepping out of their room for a smoke break," Armando said, his eyes focused on a man leaning against the railing, pulling out a cigarette and lighting it.
"Alright, that's them. Let's proceed and keep the piece handy, just in case things escalate," David said, stepping out of the truck. Armando reached into the glove compartment, retrieving the handgun and discreetly concealing it behind his back.
"You take the right staircase, and I'll take the left. Remember, act natural," David instructed, as they separated and each made their way towards their respective sides, ascending the stairs to the second floor.
David and Armando locked eyes across the hallway, exchanging a knowing glance. Armando approached the individual leaning against the railing, indulging in a puff of smoke.
"Hey, can you lend me a hand?" Armando pleaded, his voice tinged with urgency, as the guy reluctantly turned to face him.
"No, and quit pestering me," the guy snapped, his annoyance evident. However, before he could utter another word, David swiftly intervened, gripping him from behind and applying pressure on his neck, forcing him towards their motel room. As Armando cautiously swung open the door, ensuring no one was inside, they hurriedly ushered the guy in.
Inside the room, David remained atop the man who now lay on the ground, continuing to tighten his grip around the man's throat. Meanwhile, Armando navigated his way towards the second individual in the bathroom, knock on the door in an attempt to grab his attention.
"What do you want now, you fucker?" the man spat angrily from inside the bathroom, his words laced with frustration. Unperturbed, Armando persisted and knocked on the door once more, determined to make his presence known.
"I swear, if I don't see food on my bed, I will beat your sorry ass this time for sure!" the man threatened, opening the door with a hasty motion, still adjusting his pants. However, before he could even raise his gaze, a forceful punch landed squarely on his face, causing him to stumble backward and collapse onto the bathroom floor. Armando didn't relent; he delivered a series of brutal blows, pounding the man mercilessly. Finally, he resorted to strangling him, refusing to stop until his life slipped away.
"Hey, you're done," Armando declared, his voice tinged with a mix of satisfaction and exhaustion, as he emerged from the bathroom, heading back towards David.
"Yeah, let's get out of here before anyone stumbles upon this," David replied, carefully placing the lifeless body on the bed. He glanced at Armando, who had emerged from the bathroom, their grim task complete.
"Alright, let's go," Armando agreed, his voice betraying a sense of urgency. They walked out of the motel room, closing the door behind them, eager to leave the scene behind and vanish into the night.
David and Armando cautiously made their way to David's father's truck, unaware that four pairs of eyes were silently observing their every move. Oblivious to the looming presence, they swiftly climbed into the vehicle and drove away, eager to put distance between themselves and the motel.
As minutes ticked by following their departure, the four individuals seized the opportunity and stealthily entered the room. There, the lifeless bodies lay motionless, one sprawled on the bed and the other discarded on the bathroom floor.
After inspecting the bodies, one of the men remarked, 'Call it in, they both gone.'
'Understood,' another guy replied, reaching for his phone and placing the call.
'Mr. S, they've completed the job. What should we do with the bodies?' the man inquired, glancing around the room.
'Get rid of them, and ensure they're placed somewhere they'll never make the news,' Mr. S commanded.
'Understood, sir,' the man responded before ending the call and directing the others on how to proceed."
David returned to the vacant lot where they had concealed his father's truck and proceeded to walk back to the warehouse. Once inside, they changed out of their disguises and into their regular attire. David then dialed Tucker's number to make the call.
"The job is done," David said, a sense of relief evident in his voice, as he carefully packed his clothes into a bag and handed it over to Armando to conceal.
"Good, I'll inform Mr. S. And remember, if y'all need anything, you know where to call," Tucker replied, his tone conveying a mix of satisfaction and loyalty before he hung up.
"Let's get out of here and go get some sleep," Armando suggested, returning after securely hiding the clothes.
"Yeah, let's go. We're done for tonight," David agreed, a tinge of exhaustion mingling with a sense of accomplishment, as they made their way to his truck and drove away.
The next day, David was woken from his slumber as his sister enthusiastically leaped onto his stomach, and playfully punch his chest to wake him up.
"Wake up, brother! Let's go eat," Lisa exclaimed, her voice filled with a mix of excitement and affection as she remained seated on his stomach, beaming at him.
"Alright, I'm up, princess," David replied, his gaze meeting his sister's joyful expression, a small smile forming on his lips.
He lifted her up in his arms and carried her all the way to the table where their mom was setting out breakfast for them.
"Hey, you two, your plates are ready," his mom called out with a warm tone, stepping back into the kitchen. David gently placed his sister in her chair and took a seat next to her.
"Thanks, mom," David replied, his voice laced with gratitude as he exchanged a small, appreciative smile with his mother before beginning to eat.
"Hey, everyone, my boss is coming over, please be nice to her," David's mom added, her expression displaying a mix of anticipation and a request for cooperation from the kids.
"Is this the same boss we keep hearing you talk about?" David asked, a mischievous glint in his eyes, teasing his mom playfully.
His mom replied with a touch of fond exasperation, "Yes, it's the same one. So, if you can, please be kind to her for me, okay?"
David responded, offering a reassuring smile to his mom, "Will try, but no promises," adding a wink. His sister nodded in agreement, sharing a smile with them.
"Thanks, but let's eat quickly, or else the food will turn cold," their mom playfully warned, her words accompanied by a warm smile as they all resumed their meal.
"I think that might be your lady friend, Mom," Ana remarked, glancing at David and then back to her mom, a mischievous twinkle in her eyes.
"Hey, stop that," David's mom replied, a hint of blush appearing on her cheeks, as she rose from the table and made her way to answer the door, her anticipation and curiosity evident in her movements.
David and his sister watched eagerly as their mom warmly greeted her supervisor and invited her inside their house.
"I don't think I've ever seen Mom smile that big before," Ana whispered to David, her eyes filled with wonder and joy at witnessing their mother's radiant happiness.
"Me neither," David responded, sharing the same sense of delight as he observed their mom conversing with her supervisor.
Their mom, still wearing that infectious smile, eventually walked over to where her family was seated at the table. With a hint of pride, she introduced each family member to her supervisor, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere as they all exchanged introductions.
"It's nice to finally put a face to the person she always talks about," Ana remarked, a teasing smile playing on her lips, subtly hinting at the possibility of more than just a professional relationship.
David joined in the playful banter, a mischievous smile on his face, as he added, "Yeah, I would think someone might want to be more than just friends and coworkers."
Both David and Ana noticed a faint blush on their mom's and her supervisor's cheeks, but they decided not to mention it, allowing the moment to unfold naturally.
Lisa, engrossed in her coloring, remained oblivious to their teasing, simply chiming in with a casual, "Yeah," before returning to her notebook, unknowingly adding a touch of innocence to the exchange.
"So, are you two finally done?" David's mom exclaimed, as she sent a meaningful glance toward her children.
"Yeah, for now, as I have to get going," David replied. He gently kissed Lisa's head, showing his affection, and then fist-bumped with Ana.
"See y'all later," David's mom said, as she received a tender kiss on her forehead from her son.
"It was truly a pleasure meeting you, Miss Scarlet," David said warmly, his voice filled with genuine appreciation, as their hands met in a firm handshake.
"The pleasure was all mine," Scarlet responded, her tone tinged with sincerity and a touch of fondness.
David spent the rest his day making deliveries alongside Armando and, afterward, hanging out with both Armando and Dexter at the park.
