Yaz, Ryan and the Doctor are talking in the TARDIS, "How have you been Yaz?"
"I have been doing well, Ace and Tegan have been helping me a lot. It seems she was splitting her time with UNIT, A Charitable Earth, Graham mostly flirting with him, and helping me get back to normal life."
"That's good. I had a feeling that would happen, well the part of those two helping you. I didn't think that those two would fall for the other. I probably should've seen it, since their moral codes are similar, they both love to eat, and once you become their friend they are fiercely loyal and protective. I also should mention they both didn't have a good relationship with the parent that raised them.''
"Doctor,'' Ryan starts, "you should also mention they both like blowing things up."
"Yeah they both surely do love that." They look at the scanner to see Ace quietly talking to Graham. "I know Tegan and Nyssa have expressed their worry about Ace. I have two people in that room I am worried about. For both of their sake I hope Graham wakes up soon."
Outside of the TARDIS, "I guess I should tell you a story. Let me think about what story you would like. I haven't told you the story of the time storm yet. One day when I was a teenager I was trying to make some of my Nitro-9, it was only the 9 then. I miscalculated the formula, when this smoke surrounds me and I end up an alien planet. You have no idea how glad I am that I was wearing my jacket when this happened. About a year after it all happened, one day when I was waitressing for the milkshake bar; I heard these three people talking about treasure. I sit down and two of those people are very welcoming. Those two people are Mel, who I took to calling Donut. The other person that was there was a male chauvinists bile bag, named Glitz. To this day I can't stand him. Let's not get on him. Mel went with me to my room while the two men went off.
While in my room there was an announcement made and I got my Nitro-9 out and Mel and I helped blow up a door that was stuck. After telling Mel some of my story we met up with the Doctor and Mel, we eventually got everything right. I was invited to stay on the TARDIS. Little did I know it was in a plan to try and turn me into a wolf of Fenric. After you wake up I will tell you all about Fenric, as it is something that happened to me that had a major impact on who I am today.
I guess I should've waited to tell you about my meeting the Doctor until you woke up too. God Graham, I hope you wake up soon. I promised myself that I would wait until you are ready to move on from Grace to date you. I will keep to that. If I have waited this long to find someone who understands me, and more than just Dorothy, they also understand Ace and even enjoy helping me make Nitro-999 as the Professor so adaptly named it," Ace rolls her eyes, "I can wait a longer amount of time. If you just want to be best mates I can do that too." She leans over and presses her lips to his forehead.
In the TARDIS the occupants are trying to hold back tears, as the sound is on. "Oh Ace," says the Doctor, "I hurt you with the whole Fenric thing."
"What happened?"
"Yaz, the timestorm wasn't her fault at all, it was due to an ancient viking that I had been playing a game of chess with long before she was born, well he knew that Ace would become important to and was able to become her ancestor." The Doctor says while turning to mess with some controls not wanting to meet anyone's eyes, considering what they had to pull on Ace when Fenric came out of hiding.
"Oh,'' Yaz says.
"After everything with Fenric is when she met the Master for the first time. It wasn't a good meeting."
"When is meeting your old school friend a good thing," Ryan interjects.
"You have a point, for Tegan she lost her aunt, Nyssa lost all of her people and he took over her fathers face."
"What the hell, he is even more of a monster than I thought," Yaz almost growls.
"When he had to look into the schism it did something to his mind."
"There is no excuse for being that evil Doctor."
"I know."
"Why do you even keep giving them chances?"
"We are the last of the Time Lords."
"You have family here on earth and I am sure that you have some on other planets."
"It's not the same Yaz.'" The Doctor turns to face Yaz, "I know if you ask anyone who knew me way back when, they would say that I didn't really get along with most Time Lords, except Romana, who I also traveled with for a while."
"You have many people around who love and care about you." Yaz adds.
"Yaz, if everyone you ever knew died, but one person what would you be like?"
"Doctor, that's just there are people here you have known for you it would be centuries for you and for them decades. Look at Ace, you have known her for over half her life."
"I know."
"I think the reason you haven't left yet is more to do with Ace, then with my Grandad."
"Ryan?" The Doctor, not realizing that there is a little truth behind Ryan's words, but wants to deny it.
"I am fine with that. I know that you do care about him."
"I care about both of them."
"You love Ace in a non romantic way." Yaz knows that she has to say in a non-romantic way to what she is saying because of the relationship the Doctor has had with a few companions including herself.
"It was with the three of you, everything became like a family."
"Stop denying it Doctor, from the few stories Ace has told during the meetings she was like a daughter to yourself." The Doctor doesn't say anything just looks at the TARDIS doors remembering all the times he dragged Ace by the handle of his umbrella and when he tried to make her a Time Lord.''
"I do have to say, I am glad that Ace never finished her training to become a Human Time Lord mix. I don't think I would've handled losing her as well as Romana, Leela who stayed on Gallifrey, and my whole race."
"See you do care deeply about her." Ryan smiles at the Doctor though it also doesn't reach his eyes.
"I know I do." They stop talking, letting Ace have a few more moments alone with Graham.
