Before that can happen a figure swoops in. "You have no idea how glad I am that you are awake." Jo Grant says as she finally lets herself remember the last time, before Graham's accident happened, she was in a hospital when both her and Cliff got the news that he had less then a year left.

"Thank you Jo."

"I also know one person is more than glad you are awake."

"How are you doing dear?" She asks Ace.

"Good," Jo looks down to see the two holding hands. The next to come into the room is Yaz.

"It's good that you are awake," the same sentiment is followed by everyone who follows.

Graham looks around, "I didn't know so many people cared about me."

Mel starts to speak up, "we all are joined by one person, and they pick people who are caring. When one of us is badly hurt, we rally around the other."

Graham's doctor comes into the room, "I may have to put a limit on who can come in, there really shouldn't be more than 10 people in here at any given time." Everyone but Graham look at each other knowing that has happened a lot of the time. "Now Mr. O'Brien, we got some of your results back, you are doing good. Though since you did just wake up, we want to keep you here for the next few days to monitor you. You also might want to thank Ms. McShane here, she is the reason you have this big room. After her name got slipped and the hospital's president found out, he made sure that her friend got one of the rooms that is only for a VIP."

"What?"

"Ms. McShane here is one of our top donors, if not our top donor," Graham's doctor starts to leave then remembers something he has to tell Graham, "you will have to stay with someone for a few weeks."

"Ace," Graham looks at her, her cheeks turning red.

"I didn't ask for special treatment."

"She also hasn't really left your side except when we have taken you in for tests." Ace buries her face in her free hand. His doctor leaves, and Nyssa has to elbow her wife as she starts to speak.

Not to be deterred too much by it, "is anyone going to mention that Ace and Graham are still holding hands."

"TEGAN," Nyssa snaps, "this is not the time."

"Oh come on, we just want both of them to be happy."

"Last time you teased Graham and I, look at what happened, if the timers were better this wouldn't have happened."

"Ace," Graham starts, speaking up, "this isn't your fault, I don't blame you."

"I do," Ace looks down at their hands rubbing her thumb across the back of his hand.

"Please stop then."

"I have tried, everyone keeps telling me it isn't, the Doctor even saw what really happened, you are in a hospital, last time someone I know got hurt because of my Nitro, they only got winded."

"That was the Doctor right?" Graham asks.

"Yes, not long after I started traveling with them."

"Ace, you were just a teenager then."

''And I am a grown adult now."

"Ace," Graham turns around a little bit so his free hand can touch Ace's cheek. "I do not blame you. It was a freak accident involving the Daleks. Remember we met doing the same thing in a Volcano."

She leans into his hand, "how can I forget? You gave me a jump scare."

"Talking about jump scares, you almost greeted me with a baseball bat."

"Then you tried to trick me with psychic paper."

"You didn't fall for that, you read straight through me, and saw I was a friend of the Doctors, and did a cute little oh. Then introduced yourself."

"You forget how I told you I knew who the Daleks were and I dealt with them in 1963, you asked how old I was. I told you that was no question for a gentleman and on a first date. After I introduced myself and walked away you said "what about me being Ace?"

"Yes you are."

Ryan turns to the rest of the room, "do they always flirt this bad?"

"Yes," the room says in unison, Ace and Graham look up, each raising one eyebrow.

"This can get tiring."

With a slight annoyance to her tone Tegan adds, "within two weeks it got annoying. So get ready for it. I have a feeling that the two of you will be taking care of Graham."

"Well, at least he is happy."

"Oi," Ace and Graham say together, the room erupts in laughter.

Ace scowls at the room, "we are right here you know."

"We know." Tegan tells her.

"It's just too easy to rile you up right now, and since I don't have to worry about you every second, I can get back to it. Now get back to your flirting Ace." Ace cheeks go very red, Graham just watches as they turn redder.

"This is how we always talk," he says, trying to defend Ace and himself.

"That is flirting Graham," Ryan adds in.

The Doctor mumbles to himself, "two of my companions flirting every chance they get, one of which I have seen like a daughter since she was a teenager."

"What was that Doctor," Nyssa asks.

"Nothing," the Doctor shakes their head.

Getting her wife's hint, "oh it seems like you said you see Ace like a daughter and that you are slightly embarrassed that two of your companions are always flirting."

"Tegan," Ace tries to get a warning tone in her voice, but it doesn't quite work as she knows that she has been enjoying the near constant flirting with Graham.

"If I can pick it up with just seeing you two talk once, you are flirting."

"Oh Ryan you should've seen them at the first companion support group meeting, it seems that minus when Ace and Tegan were checking on me and asking how the Doctor was, those two," Yaz gestures between Ace and Graham. "Were looking at each other every chance they got." Both Ace and Graham start to blush.

"You should see them the few times Graham has joined Ace for our monthly dinner," Tegan wanting her friend to know that there is something between her and the man that is on the bed, "they sneak glances at the other when they aren't looking." Ace and Graham look away from everyone including each other. "Ahh how cute now they are avoiding each other's eyes, while still holding hands." Ace and Graham let go both feeling something when they let go.
