Walking into the building with Yaz and Ryan, Graham is wearing his brown jacket, nice slacks and a blue colored shirt that brings out his eyes. Ace catches his eyes and they share a smile. Tegan can tell something might happen at this meeting that will change her best friend, hoping it's good she tries to run interference from everyone, while Yaz fixes the chairs so everyone is sitting closer. "Welcome back two of our members," starts Kate who likes that Yaz made sure Ace and Graham were sitting next to each other and notices Graham's leg is shaking from nerves. "Also welcome to our newest member Ryan."

"Thank you." Everyone looks over to Ace and Graham who are trying not to rub their legs too much while his knee is bouncing nonstop. Graham does not pay attention to anything said at that meeting trying to come up with the words.

After it is over Graham can feel Ace moving and gets up to follow her. She starts talking to Tegan and Nyssa. "Hey Ace."

Ace smiles and turns around to face him. "Yes?"

He scratches his ear, "Ace would you like to," Mel comes up.

"Are we all doing dinner together like we do when we get a new member?"

Ace notices Graham loses some courage and smiles at him, when he answers, "maybe." Tegan, Nyssa, Yaz and Ryan all sigh at it.

"You know what, I am not up for dinner tonight. We all already know Ryan, how about we postpone it."

"Ok," Mel walks away.

"Graham?" Ace says knowing, well hoping Graham was going to ask something else, "I would love too."

"You would."

She leans closer to him, "yes," she whispers. She can smell his cologne this close. "Now good?"

"Yes, now is good. Yaz and Ryan convinced me to get a table for two at a local restaurant."

"Good." Everyone is still standing there Mel understands why Tegan said she didn't want dinner tonight.

Quietly to them, "is that why?"

"Yes don't worry, I know where Graham is going to take Ace."

"Yaz?"

"He asked me for ideas to take someone on a date. I may have pretended to leave when he made the call and heard him make a reservation." They watch as Ace and Graham leave after he gives her the name of the restaurant.

"So when are we going to follow them," says Tegan.

"We don't need to, I also put in a reservation for 8."

"I am not coming with, those two deserve to date in private," Jo Grant adds before leaving herself. She sees Graham walking Ace to her car and smiles sadly remembering all the times Cliff used to do that. Continuing on to her car she sees Graham lean into the car and come out blushing. "Ahh young love." And drives off hoping that everyone else doesn't ruin the night for the two.

….

Arriving at the restaurant Ace and Graham arm in arm walk up to the maitre-D. "Table for two under Graham."

Not looking up from the menus, "right this way." When he looks up he does a double take when he sees Ace. Knowing that he shouldn't say anything continues to direct them to their table that is lit by two candles.

"This is great Graham."

"Thank you." As they open their menus a group of people get sat behind a wall that Ace and Graham can't see over. After they order their food, faces start to pop around it.

"Graham?"

"Yes?"

"What made you decide to ask me out?"

"I started speaking to a therapist."

"You did?"

"One that is connected to UNIT, so if I have any Doctor trauma, I wouldn't be put away. Talking to someone removed from the central group has helped."

"That's good."

"When I told her I have feelings for someone special after telling her about Grace, she said it sounds like I am ready."

"Do you think that you are ready?"

"When I am with you or talking to you, I feel like I am. It's only when I am alone in my thoughts that I don't think so."

Ace reaches her hand across the table, "you know when we can take this slow as you want."

"What about what you want? You are going to be a part of this relationship too. What you want is just as important." Holding hands their food arrives. "Ace, I mean it you are important to me and what we are starting."

"This is one of the reasons why I knew it would be worth it. Graham, you have a big heart."

"You have one of the biggest hearts ever, Ace." They start to eat.

"Can you hear what they are saying," Tegan asks her wife.

"A little, they are both talking about how the other has a big heart."

"Anything else?"

"How they are both important in whatever is going on between them."

"Good."

Yaz drops down quickly, "I think Graham just spotted me."

"What," Kate falls to the seat too.

"Did Graham?" She shakes her head.

"Was I right Yaz is here?"

"I saw Kate."

"What should we do?"

"This is a lovely restaurant, though I saw if we want this date to stay between us I say we get the check and leave. Try and figure out a place to meet up."

"To do that, since I also know Nyssa from some of the conversations we have had and from what you have told me, we should probably call each other after we get in their own car."

"Or as we get to my car."

"That can work too, can I give them something to talk about?"

"You can," Graham picks up her hand and kisses the back of it. Ace's cheeks go red. They get up and Graham goes and pays for their meal. Overing his arm and she takes it and they walk out, the group at the table turns to each other.

"Did Graham just do what I think he did?" A surprised Tegan asked.

"I think he did, did anyone see Ace's cheeks as they walked out?" Nyssa asks, wanting to know how her friend reacted to a kiss on the hand.

"I did not."

"Are we going to try and follow them still," Yaz's mind is trying to work fast on how to follow two people."

"No, but I say I will ask Graham how the date went, and one of you," Ryan points to Tegan and Nyssa, "should ask Ace."

"Oh I will, and I will corner her somewhere she can't leave," Tegan with a smile adds.

Outside Ace is messing with Graham's jacket, "where should we meet up?"

"There is a park nearby, we can walk there. It will confuse them that our cars are still here."

"We will also get a moonlit walk."

"That we do," Graham offers his arm again and Ace takes it, they slowly walk to the park. "Minus the spies, did you enjoy dinner?"

"I did, and I am enjoying this night time walk too."

"I am also enjoying it. I guess I shouldn't have asked Yaz about a good place to take you."

"You asked Yaz what would be a good place to take me?"

"Yeah, I didn't usually make plans for dates in the past."

"I am glad that you planned this one."

"Well, I planned the restaurant, but not this part."

"Oh Graham, this walk is very romantic."

They stop walking and face each other, "I am glad it is."

Ace and Graham start to hear a voice they recognize, "Cliff, I promised you that I would continue our work after you died. I have gone back to UNIT and have surrounded myself with some amazing people. Two of which are entering a relationship. I am happy for them, but seeing them and all the other young couples happy and in love; makes me miss you even more." Jo looks up and sees Ace and Graham, "come over here lovelies."

"We don't want to interrupt."

"It's ok."

"You miss Cliff?"

"Everyday, Graham, you are lucky to find someone so lovely."

"I am."

"I like hearing stories about Grace from him and Ryan."

"I like that. Cliff would've loved to meet you both. He met Tegan and Nyssa at a rally."

"He did, they never told me that."

"They didn't?"

"No."

"You two should know that those guys from the meeting will keep following you around on dates."

"How?"

"They asked if I wanted to join."

"Ahh."

"I told them no, that you two deserve to explore what you have in private."

"Thank you Jo."

"No need to thank me. I am going to head home now."

"Bye Jo." After Jo leaves Ace and Graham sit there for a few minutes.

"Graham?"

"Yes?"

"You know whenever you are missing Grace you can call me."

"I know; I also know she would want me to move on." Ace leans her head against Graham's shoulder. "Ace?"

"Yes."

"Grace would love you."

"I would love her too. Should we probably get going soon?"

"Yeah, but I am comfortable like this."

"Me too." Graham's phone starts to go off.

"It's Ryan."

"Probably wondering where you are."

"Yeah, I guess it is time to call it a night." They get up and Graham walks Ace back to her car. "I had a wonderful time tonight Ace. Can we do it again?"

"We can," Ace leans up and kisses his cheek then gets in her car. Graham walks back to his car and drives back to his flat to see Ryan and Yaz waiting on the couch playing video games.

"How was it?"

"Good, and goodnight."
