The following Monday Ace walks into A Charitable Earth building to see Nyssa coming towards her. "What is going on?"
"Somebody received a large bouquet this morning, and that someone is you. Don't worry, I didn't read the card once I saw your name on it. I wonder who it could be from?"
"Only one person and you know it," Ace says as she smells the bouquet and grabs the card.
"Graham?"
"Yes, it's from Graham."
"Good." Ace looks at her friend as she walks away, smelling the bouquet again and she starts to read the card.
'Ace,
I have had a wonderful time with you these last few weeks, well month, can't wait for more.
XXX, Graham.'
Smiling to herself Ace picks up the bouquet with her to her office. She puts it on her desk and smiles at it.
Taking out her phone she calls Graham hoping he can pick up, "hello Ace.''
"Hello Graham, I got the bouquet, thank you, it's lovely."
"A lovely bouquet for a lovely woman."
"Graham," she laughs. She doesn't see Nyssa standing in the doorway, "you are a sweet talker aren't you?"
"I try," Ace imagines him shrugging his shoulders. "I just got to HQ, I got to go see you later. Want to come by for lunch."
"I'd love to. I will have to see how long of a lunch I can have."
"You'd do that. I will love to have you as long as possible."
"Ace."
"What," realizing that what she said could be used as an innuendo, "sorry."
"It's ok."
"No it isn't, you are not ready for more."
"You are too understanding sometimes."
"I am trying to be a good girlfriend," Ace realizes what just slipped out and her eyes do wide and is at the moment she sees Nyssa. "Nyssa is here."
"Ok, and you are a good girlfriend, I hope I am a good boyfriend."
Relaxing that he didn't react badly, "you are, see you later."
"Yes, you will. Goodbye Ace."
"Goodbye Graham." They hang up.
"Boyfriend?"
"It slipped out."
"Slipped out?"
"It did, though he didn't seem to mind."
"It's like watching teenagers fall in love."
"I am already in love."
"I can tell. When are you seeing him next?"
"Maybe for lunch."
"Meeting him somewhere?"
"No, he might be coming here."
"Aren't you glad that there are no meetings later today?"
"He will have to go back to HQ at one point."
"Just promise me no making out." Ace blushes, "wait can you not promise that, meaning that you two have kissed?"
"We have."
"When?"
"The other night."
"How was it?"
"Sweet."
"Ace?"
"Yes?"
"Did you like it?"
"I more than liked it."
"Good, but please don't make out here."
"Need I remind you how many times I have found you and Tegan making out." To herself, 'sometimes more, but I will not say anything, I just walked away.'
"How many times have you caught us?"
"More than I can count, but it is nice to see two people still so in love after many years. You know I never really saw that growing up."
"I do, but I have a feeling you are going to break the cycle."
"It was only one generation. My Nan didn't date anyone after my Grandfather died during World War II. I was with her when she got that note."
"The Doctor?"
"Yep, it was when he tried to make sure I wouldn't become a wolf of Fenric."
"You don't have an evil bone in you."
"You say that to someone who has been creating explosives since she was a teenager."
"I know." Nyssa leaves and thinks about when she can call her wife and tell her about the update. A few hours later there is a knock on the door to Ace's office.
"Come in." Ace says while taking off her glasses.
When Graham enters the room Ace stands up and smiles, they meet in the middle and share a small kiss. Graham takes out a bag of food. How's Chinese?"
"Perrrfect." They go over to the couch and Graham takes out the containers and plastic forks.
"How has your day been so far?"
"Good, Nyssa knows that we have kissed. She asked me not to make out with you, I reminded her about all the times I have caught her and Tegan making out."
"Do you want to make out?"
"Only if you are comfortable with it, but not here."
"Why?"
"I don't know."
"Ok." They finish eating and Ace throws away their trash and sits next to Graham again.
"How long do you have for lunch," Graham looks at his watch.
"See Kate had the new HQ built close enough to you that it was a quick drive even with picking up food, so I still have 20 minutes until I have to leave."
"Good," Ace gets comfortable, bringing her feet up on the couch behind her and leans against Graham. "I like this."
"Me too." They sit there for a few minutes.
"I want to say thank you again for the flowers, you know we are going to be the talk of the Jovanka table tonight with the flowers, and me telling Nyssa about our first kiss."
"Let them talk, all that matters is us."
"What does Ryan think of us? I care about his opinion."
"He hasn't told me, except when he was encouraging me to ask you out. So I don't think he minds as long as we keep the kissing in front of him to a minimum, he didn't really like when Grace and I kissed."
"So let's get some of them out of the way then." Ace leans her head up and their lips meet in a slow tender kiss that lasts for about two minutes. When they part both pairs of eyes open and they smile at each other. Ace puts her head back on Graham's shoulder, when Nyssa appears.
"You two are so cute," Ace starts to get up, "no need to get up on my account."
"It's ok, I should probably think about heading out soon." Graham says as he too stands up and quickly pecks Ace on the lips, she barely has the time to respond. "Talk to you tonight."
"Yes you will," she grabs his hand real quick and turns him around to give him a kiss. Graham walks out after that.
"Ace?"
"Yes Nyssa?"
"You must like kissing him."
"I do, what's wrong with that?"
"Nothing, you are usually more reserved than this, you don't even usually have the person you are seeing come by for lunch."
"I know, did you come by to ask me something?"
….That Night…
"Graham came back a little dazed from his lunch break." Tegan and Nyssa are relaxing on the couch after work.
"They have kissed a few times, Ace told me that their first was a few nights ago, and he pecked her on the lips, before he could leave Ace turned him around and laid one on him. Did I tell you when I got in that he had a large bouquet delivered for her?"
"No?"
"He did, and when she read the card her eyes lit up."
"Does Graham know that Ace is already in love?"
"I have no idea.''
"If he keeps this up, she might let it slip soon."
"Like she called herself a girlfriend, and replied that he was her boyfriend."
"Jesus."
"Yep, and if she comes to any of us for advice we should give it to her, and when you come by the office, we should try and not make out."
"Why?"
"She has seen us more than a few times."
"I say it is no time until she starts making out with Graham there."
"I am not sure, while she is comfortable giving a kiss, and he is too, I don't think I will see them making out."
"I am glad that I don't have to devise a plan for them to kiss."
"I think we all are."
"What do you mean," Tegan asks, trying to act all innocent.
"I don't think they would appreciate you locking them in a closet until they kissed."
"You know me too well."
"I am your wife after all. Have you heard from Neeka or Adric lately?" Nyssa changes the subject.
"Neeka yes, Adric no."
"I am going to call him after we finish dinner, see if he will pick up."
"It has been many months."
"I know honey," Nyssa reaches across the table to grab her wife's hand.
