To the other Autobots and human allies, Crosshairs and Drift make a good team. The truth is they both love each other but are both afraid to say it, until now...

Third-person POV

It's been a bore for Crosshairs staying at the Yeager's new farm, protecting them. Bumblebee still acts like he's in command. Hound thinks this is better than being in hiding. The only person Crosshairs can't be annoyed with for thinking this is better than hiding is Drift. Perhaps it's because the two months the Autobots have been with the Yeagers has allowed Crosshairs to realize how much he loves Drift, but Crosshairs isn't sure if that's what it is or boredom playing tricks with his emotions.
"You like him, don't you?" Tessa asks.
"I don't know what you're talking about," Crosshairs replies.
"You're doing a terrible job hiding you like him," Tessa smiles.
"Fine, I like Drift, happy?!"
Crosshairs walks away and sits by a tree. Unaware Drift is meditating nearby — or was meditating until he heard peds walking by him.

Drift POV
What's troubling you today, Crosshairs?
I watch him angrily walk by and sit by a tree. I know it's better to leave Crosshairs alone when he's angery, but I can't ignore that he's angery.
"GO AWAY!" Crosshairs yells before I can even sit down next to him. I ignore him and sit beside him anyway. I hear an annoyed growl from Crosshairs, but he doesn't get up and walk away.
No one's around; say it already.

Third-person POV
Drift couldn't say it, and like him, Crosshairs is thinking the same; to tell the mech who's sitting beside him he loves him. Instead, Crosshairs becomes bored; he gets up and starts walking away, feeling a bit sad Drift didn't beg him to stay.
Both mechs didn't know what to do; they can't tell the mech they love that they love them or even ask to spend time together without the others since they both want to plan a romantic time together. They both think enough keeping their feelings secret; plan a nice unofficial date, and that's when they'll reveal their true feelings, but quickly chicken out.

"Ugh! So stupid!" Crosshairs yells and kick an empty barrel, "I'm not afraid of fragging cons, but afraid to tell Drift how I feel."
"...so what are you planning for Valentine's day?" Crosshairs hears Tessa as she talks to Shane on the phone.
He tries to eavesdrop to figure out what Valentine's Day is, but Tessa doesn't stand in one place for long.
Crosshairs activats his holoform, goes into Cade's office, locks the door, and searches for information on Valentine's Day. As he gets his answer about Valentine's Day, Crosshairs comes up with a plan to finally tell Drift how he feels.
Good thing I have a week to plan and prepare. Crosshairs smiles as he searches the internet on various topics and for various things, hoping no one will want to use the computer for the rest of the day and maybe all night.

Crosshairs spent the next three days planning, ordering some things, and taking note of what he needs to get the day before or on Valentine's Day while filled with anxiety, all this will be for nothing, and that the others would ask what he's been up to. Thankfully, he's able to go do things while out in the field, so he can act like he took a long walk, though no one has seen him as he returns until today.

"Out for a long walk?" Drift asks, smiling as he sits on the ground by a tree, "well, at least you're not bored," he says as he stands up and begins walking towards the house.
You have to ask him now, or this will have been for nothing.
"I...umm...do you want to watch the stars with me tomorrow, might?" Crosshairs manage to ask.
Drift did find the request a little unusual coming from Crosshairs, who constantly complains he's bored but agrees to meet Crosshairs tomorrow night at midnight when the others are asleep.

Drift sees Shane walking up the stairs with three heart-shaped balloons, a teddy bear holding a heart, and a giant heart-shaped box which Drift's scan reveals is a box of chocolates.
Tessa isn't sick, so what's with all the heart-shaped items? Does it have to do with why Crosshairs wants to watch the stars with me tomorrow night.
Rather than research, Drift decides to see if Crosshairs' request to watch the stars is for the same reason Shane has several heart-shaped items.

Drift doesn't see Crosshairs much the next day. He finds it a bit odd since the two mechs are just watching the stars at midnight.

Meanwhile, Crosshairs is a nervous wreck trying to figure out how to tell Drift how he feels, worried it'll be a huge mistake with serious consequences for the team.

Crosshairs avoids Drift all day and night, which worried Drift. Tessa was the only one with an idea of what Crosshairs is up to, and while she didn't think it's a good idea that Drift would meet Crosshairs tonight, worried; she Decided not to tell Drift today is Valentine's day.
That would give away the surprise. She thought as she watches Drift try to meditate.

The others have an idea what Crosshairs is up to and struggle not to get ahead of themselves. They just know Crosshairs is up to something, but not the details.

Crosshairs is able to go to the spot he'll meet Drift an hour early. There's not much to set up, but he needs time to figure out what to say, but is an hour enough?
An hour flew by, and Crosshairs feels unprepared. He's distracted that he didn't hear peds approaching him or Drift sitting next to him. Drift finds it unusual Crosshairs appears to be a nervous wreck.
"Crosshairs?" He asks.
"Umm..." Crosshairs freezes.
Behind Drift's smile is a nervous Samurai.
I should tell him now. He thinks while trying to figure out why Crosshairs is a nervous wreck.
They both lay on the ground to watch the stars, with five feet of space between them. Though in their bipedal form, that's not a lot of space.
Crosshairs debates on moving closer to Drift, to even cuddle with him, but would Drift be mad? This is also what Drift is thinking. Both afraid to make the next move.

A few minutes pass before Crosshairs sits up and sighs in frustration.
"Why are you so tense?" Drift asks as he moves closer to Crosshairs; he's now sitting right next to Crosshairs.
"I..."
I can't do this. What of all he wants is to be friends? How awkward would it be for us to be on the same team, knowing I love him, but he doesn't love me back?
Crosshairs is lost in thought and takes a few seconds to realize. Drift is hugging his close to his chassis.
"I love you, Crosshairs, and hate seeing you like this," Drift finally says.
Crosshairs smiles as the two look at each other.
"I have been so afraid to tell you," Crosshairs admits, "but I love you."
Their staring turns into a kiss before they lay back on the ground, cuddling each other. Both so happy they finally told each other how they feel.
