You and Ratchet are hiding in a cave when Cemetery Wind finds you two. Ratchet has you hide in his spark chamber until he finds an abandoned home. You end up throwing up before both of you activate your holoform and enter the house. After discovering there's still power and running water, Ratchet suggests you take a bath. You discover there's a pregnancy test in the cabinet in the bathroom. Though you're uncertain if a human pregnancy test will work, you take it anyway. Later you ask Ratchet to scan you, and he discovers a happy accident is on the way.
For this story, the Autobots can shrink and return to normal size at will.
Ratchet POV
I have been hiding in a cave with my sparkmate (Y/D) for a month now. We don't know what to do; eventually, the humans will think to look in this cave. My sweetspark hasn't been feeling great the past few days. We're fragged if she's sick.
Our luck runs out early in the morning; the sun isn't even rising yet. With (Y/D) possibly sick, I have her shrink in size to fit on my spark chamber, hoping this will not worsen her condition.
Cemetery wind tries to trap me in the cave, thinking I'm too tall to jump over them. However, I'd have a problem if the cave's opening was a little shorter. I'm met with more Cemetery Wind agents waiting in vehicles with rockets. I doubt (Y/D) could run fast if she's sick, but I worry about how transforming will affect her while in my spark chamber. Either way, I'm risking (Y/D)'s life.
I chose to run while dodging rockets, hoping I'm making the right decision and that I find a new place to hide soon.
I've been running for an hour and finally lost those humans but haven't found shelter yet.
A quarter-mile later, I find an abandoned house. We can use our holoforms and hide our alt modes. This is one house in the middle of nowhere. Likely the humans have been here already or won't bother searching here... I hope.
(Y/D) POV
"Are you ok?" Ratchet asks.
"Yeah," I reply, acting like he's asking if I'm not injured from our escape, but I know he also notices I've been feeling like scrap.
I had to rush into the woods to throw up.
"You're not fine, (Y/N), and I've noticed for the past two weeks," Ratchet points out.
We transform and activate our holoforms.
"I wish I studied the human body beyond treating the soldiers at N.E.S.T.'s wounds. I would be able to examine you and get an idea of what's going on with you."
I'm certain I'm sparked, or as the humans say, pregnant. I can wait a little longer to ask him to examine me. First, we need to know we're safe.
"Go in the house," Ratchet instructs me, "I'm going to make sure we aren't followed."
He runs down the street as I walk into the house.
Opening the door, I see the home is not empty like I was expecting. I sit on the couch m, waiting for Ratchet.
Ratchet flips the light switch, though neither of us was expecting the lights to turn on. As we look around the house, we feel like whoever lived here had to leave abruptly.
Ratchet suggests I take a bath the second we Discover the house still has running water. The tub is not dirty at all. This has to mean whoever lived here left maybe a week ago, but it's clear they didn't leave on vacation. People came here looking for something or someone.
I find something called a bath bomb in the cabinet and also a pregnancy test.
Wonder if this will work since our holoforms are supposed to mimic the human body, but I doubt our holoforms are this accurate to humans' bodies.
I can sneak into the kitchen to get a cup, hoping to need to pee by the time I'm done with the bath. So weird I'm drinking as much water as possible as I want for the tub to fill.
The hour-long bath is relaxing, but I don't have to pee yet.
I walk into the kitchen and find Ratchet cooking.
"Whoever lived here left recently. Food is still good," he explains as I look in the fridge, "should be done in twenty minutes."
I found some milk, and it's still good. Ratchet doesn't know I drank a lot of water; to him, this is the first drink I'm having since we found this house ninety minutes ago. The problem is I can't keep filling the glass, then he'll get suspicious, and I don't want to tell him anything until I'm certain. I'm a little worried about his reaction if I'm sparked. Even if he'll be worried about the sparkling as we're running from humans, I know he'd be crushed if he finds out I took a pregnancy test, and it's negative — assuming the test will work with my holoform's biology.
"Are you sure you're ok?" Ratchet asks as he puts who plates on the table.
"I'm fine," I assure him.
Hard to believe Ratchet found steak, potatoes, and some vegetables to make a salad.
I finish my dinner before needing to use the bathroom. I hope Ratchet won't worry and insist on coming in since I'll be in the bathroom for eight minutes.
Ratchet POV
I worry (Y/D) is very sick and hiding it from me. I don't know if I like this. I'd likely be unable to treat her if she told me she's sick, but I still want to know.
I wait ten minutes before going to the bathroom. I hear (Y/D) crying before I knock on the door.
No, don't tell me I'm right?
I slowly back away from the bathroom towards the couch in the living room. I sit on the couch, trying not to cry. It's bad to assume things, but...
Five minutes pass before (Y/D) walks towards me.
"Ratchet?" She asks.
I'm not ready for her to finally tell me, but maybe it's better than finding she's one with the AllSpark.
"Yes?" I ask, thankfully able to hide my sadness.
"Can we deactivate our holoforms, shrink down in size and go on the bed in the bedroom?"
I'm confused; why the extra steps? I can take a look at her holoform.
We do what she wants. I didn't expect (Y/D) to tell me to scan below her spark chamber; specifically, she wants the area just above her interface panel scanned, where what humans call a uterus would be. To us, it's the metra.
"What the..."
(Y/D) smiles as I stare at the image on my scanner; a sparkling is developing in my sweetspark.
"I took a pregnancy test though I wasn't sure if it would work with my holoform's biology, it's positive."
"Well, you're right; we're going to be parents."
We celebrate with a passionate kiss.
Once we've returned to our normal size, transformed into our alt modes, hide them, and activated our holoforms (Y/D), and I return to the bedroom to watch T.V., but (Y/D) doesn't last long before falling asleep.
I lift her shirt and ser a small bump. The downside of the pregnancy is it won't be long before (Y/D) can't use her holoform. It's going to be harder for her to run away from the damn humans than when our sparking is born...
I enjoy my opportunity to rub her pregnant belly.
Please, Primus, protect us from the damn humans. Let (Y/D) have a healthy femme or mech. I don't want to sacrifice myself to protect my family and miss my child growing up, hopefully on Earth peacefully and without humans hunting us. Maybe we'll find the others...
