Sunstreaker saves (Y/N) from a Decepticon attack while in the middle of battle. Ratchet is too caught up in the battle to rush (Y/N) back to the N.E.S.T. base. He takes the chance getting (Y)N) away from the battle. He hates hearing her cry in pain as he finds an abandoned House to help (Y/N), who is now terrified she'll die and wonder why Sunstreaker would help them?

Sunstreaker's P.O.V.
I watch (Y/N) go down before getting the cons away from her. No one else saw what happened, and Ratchet can't get away from the cons who are fighting him to help (Y/N). I don't want to retreat, but I can't lose (Y/N). I don't think she will make it if we wait until the end of the battle. I activate my holoform and sit on my knees beside her. As far as I can tell, there are only cuts, but several large ones that are bleeding a lot.
"Sunstreaker?" (Y/N) mumbles.
"I'm going to help you," I tell her as I take my shirt off, ripping it to cover the wounds, being as gentle as possible. The problem is being picked up is going to hurt. I deactivate my holoform.
"Go get Ratchet," (Y/N) insists as I'm about to pick her up.
"No time," I tell her before picking her up. She screams, but no one can hear it with the battle going on. I try to position (Y/N) in my servo to relieve the pain as I walk away from the battle.

I've been walking for twenty minutes, blood going down my servo and (Y/N) crying. I want to find a building to hide in. Even though it means the Autobots won't find us easily, it means the cons won't either. At least (Y/N) isn't losing blood to the point she passes out — yet.

I finally find a house that looks like it's been abandoned for a while.

"Ok, I have to set you down on the ground for a sec," I explain — a little worried (Y/N) doesn't respond, but she screams as I lay her on the ground. I transform and activate my holoform. No arguing about how I'm about to pick (Y/N) up again, but again she screams. She cries as I walk up the stairs into the house. I lay (Y/N) on the bed in the bedroom.

Please have a first aid kit here or something. However, I don't know if it's a good thing if all I can do is clean the wounds and wrap them. I need to stop the bleeding, but some of these wounds will bleed until stitched.

"No, no, no," I fret and fall to my knees. All I found was the dressing used to cover wounds. I try to tell myself I'm overreacting, but if Ratchet doesn't find us before going back to the base, we have a problem. I send him a message before getting back to (Y/N).

(Y/N)'s P.O.V.
Every part of my body hurts. I know I'm bleeding, but I worry I also have internal injuries.
"I'm sorry I have to cause more pain," Sunstreaker apologizes.
"Why are you helping me?" I ask, "I'm going to die."
"No, you're not, I swear on my spark."
Sunstreaker did find pain medication, but it's not going to kick in for at least a half-hour, and the wounds need to be taken care of now. I take the medication anyway.
"Relax, think about the day we went to the beach," Sunstreaker tells me before washing his hands and getting what he needs ready.
I can't think at all. I feel like I'm in surgery while awake.

Sunstreaker's P.O.V.
I hate I'm making (Y/N) cry and scream in pain, but I have to do this. I try to stay calm, but the bleeding won't stop. A few minutes pass before (Y/N) passes out.
Frag, please find us soon, Ratchet.
I do the best I can, but I don't think I stopped the bleeding. I only covered the wounds. Maybe that'll help limit how much blood (Y/N) loses?

An hour passes before her breathing changes. I fear this means she does have internal injuries, and there's nothing I can do to help her. I lay next to (Y/N), worried I'm going to watch her die.
"Take me instead, Primus," I cry.
I never got a chance to tell (Y/N) I love her.

I don't know how much time passed before I hear sirens then three people rushing into the house.
"Sunstreaker?!" Ratchet yells.
I call him into the room, but I don't want to let go of (Y/N).
Prime had to force me to let go.
"She'll be ok," he assures me, "there's nothing you can do for her now. Let's go back to the base."
I don't want to leave her, but Prime is right.

Ratchet's P.O.V.
This isn't good; Sunstreaker did the best he could, but (Y/N) is still bleeding, and I fear she has internal bleeding.
"We need to go, now," I tell jolt.
I get the stretcher from my alt mode and quickly get (Y/N) ready for transport.
We know (Y/N) will need emergency surgery. I hope we're not too late.

Sunstreaker's P.O.V.
It's been six hours since I left (Y/N). I'd be told if she died, but would I be told if she was very ill? I tried to distract myself, but I ended up doing a portrait of (Y/N).
"Why don't you try doing something else?" Sideswipe suggests.
"Like what, Sideswipe?" I ask, tears rolling down my face.
Sideswipe hugs me, and I let myself cry. He is the only one who knows I love (Y/N).

Sideswipe's P.O.V.
I don't know what to do to help Sunstreaker. If art — which always relaxes him — isn't working, then what will? It's eight at night; I should try to get Sunstreaker to go to sleep.
I get him to lay in his bed. I lay on the bed with him, unsure what to tell him. I can't lie about (Y/N), even if it'll get him to fall asleep.
It's a long two hours before he's asleep. I need to find out if (Y/N) is ok.

I walk into the medbay — expecting to be told to get out — but Ratchet doesn't yell at me.
"How is he?" Ratchet asks.
"I struggled to get him to sleep, but he's asleep," I tell him, "h-how is she?"
"Damn lucky to have survived, lucky it wasn't a major vital organ that was sliced in half. We finished surgery an hour ago. I have her heavily sedated for the night."
I ask if I can tell Sunstreaker in the morning or let him come here before going back to my room. I grab my blanket from my bed and lay next to Sunstreaker, hoping he'll sleep all night.

It's a rough night. As if he didn't suffer nightmares, to begin with, Sunstreaker has nightmares about (Y/N). He'd wake up, crying and saying (Y/N) us gone. I should have asked Ratchet if I could take Sunstreaker to the medbay if he woke up in the middle of the night.

The next day

Sunstreaker's P.O.V.
If (Y/N) is gone, and all nights will be like last night, then I don't want to love, but I'd be killing Sideswipe if I end my life. Is this a hard lesson that I shouldn't love? It's too late for that. Now I deal with my mistake.
I sit on the edge of my bed, not wanting to do anything. I find myself doing what I told (Y/N) to do yesterday; think about our day at the beach.
"Sunstreaker?" I hear Sideswipe.
My daydream ends, and I feel tears rolling down my face, "I know what will cheer you up; let's go to the medbay."
"N-no, I c-can't say g-goodbye..."
"Sunny, I said make you happy."
If (Y/N) is dying, I should say goodbye. I make myself get dressed and go down to the medbay with Sideswipe.

Ratchet's P.O.V.
Sunstreaker is a wreck; I hope explaining (Y/N) will wake up in an hour or two will help him. I let him sit by her, hoping her stable condition will also help him.

Sunstreaker's P.O.V.
I sit by (Y/N)'s bed a
d hold her hand. Sideswipe stays for ten minutes before saying he'll leave me alone with her.
Even if (Y/N) doesn't wake up for two hours, I'm not leaving her side.

Two hours pass before (Y/N) wakes up. I stare at her (E/C) eyes.
"You big softie," (Y/N) says, her voice muffled from the mask.
"Here," Ratchet hands me a tissue before telling me to move out of the way. No, I sit on the chair in the corner as Ratchet looks over (Y/N). I see him take (Y/N) off oxygen.

"She needs rest," Ratchet tells me before leaving the room. I take my place by the bed.
"I said you wouldn't die," I remind her.
"But why did you help me?" (Y/N) asks, "I know you don't like humans."
"Most humans," I correct her, "I-I love you (Y/N)."
She smiles, "I've always loved you, but I thought you would love me."
(Y/N) pulls my arm to get me closer to her, and she kisses me.
