(Y/N)'s P.O.V.
After Bertin died in the battle, Hot Rod and Vivian went back to the U.S. with Cade. I'm glad I decided to try to befriend Cogman. It started out visiting the castle, but I quickly packed a few bags and have moved here. Cogman still thinks I come to visit every day.- even if I'm in the kitchen at eight in the morning. Rather than tell him I've been staying here, I told him I enjoy his cooking, which isn't lying.

I find Cogman has fallen asleep as he was reading a book in the library. Sitting on the recliner across the room, I find myself thinking how Cogman is too focused on guarding the mansion and being Bertin's butler for at least fifty years. All these years on Earth, and he never learned to relax or have fun. By the sound of it, it's been centuries since any Autobot had fun on their home planet, but at least the other Autobots can have fun while on Earth. I know he has a holoform — even though he's the size of a human — so it's not like he's trapped in the house. He's choosing to be trapped.
"Oh (Y/N), when did you get here?" Cogman asks, "I will be around cleaning the house."
He leaves the room as I try to figure out what we can do for fun. Might have to start small and play a board game.

My cleaning took three hours to complete. I find (Y/N) still in the library, but it's obvious she left since she has takeout pizza and other boxes on a table she brought from another room.
"What is all this?" I ask.
"You need to learn to relax and have fun. I figured we need to start small," (Y/N) explains as she picks up the box, "lesson one: board games."
I do have time before I need to cook (Y/N) dinner. I will protest if she tells me not to. I do it both because I'm used to doing it and enjoy doing it for (Y/N) even if she's not my master.
Sure enough, she tells me I'm not cooking tonight; that's why she got the pizza.

Cogman is going to have a hard time getting used to relaxing and having fun. This will take at least a month before I can try to get him to leave the castle. Showing him how he can have fun in the castle is a good start.
"This one is a classic, Monopoly," I tell him and explain the rules.
"So I'm a con buying all the land?" Cogman asks.
"You're not buying properties; it's just a game; it's to relax."
Cogman had a hard time relaxing initially, but I think he'll realize how much he works — even if it's a butler. Though he's not my butler, my friend.

Cogman's P.O.V.
(Y/N) has us doing game night for the next week. At first, I couldn't say no to her, but it's fun discovering different Earth games. I find myself watching T.V. with her and thinking about how much fun I could have had with my previous masters.
"What's wrong?" (Y/N) asks.
"Thank you for showing me to Have fun. I wish I did with my previous masters."
"No, no, I wasn't—."
"It's ok, (Y/N). As I've heard humans say, better late than never."
"You know what? Let's go out to the park in town."
"That's asking for trouble, (Y/N), you know we are —."
"Breaking news from the UN as country leaders talk about the Transformers home planet Cybertronian now attached to Earth."
"As we have learned in the past fourteen years, Earth shares much history with our alien visitors. With Cybertron attached to Earth, the world leaders have decided to grant the Autobots Earth citizenship and are free to be in their bipedal form at the following places; open fields, parks, and beaches. They are free to use their holoforms to travel wherever but must follow our laws, including acquiring a driver's license. Attacking the Autobots is a federal crime and will be met with punishment. Let us all learn to live in peace, thank you."
(Y/N) turns off the T.V., "well, looks like you can go out. Unlike the others, you're the size of a human. You can go out to a bar like this, but maybe we get you some clothes."
I'm not looking forward to putting clothes on, but at the same time, I have an idea. I tell (Y/N) to get ready. I knew she'd want to take a bath.

(Y/N)'s P.O.V.
I watch YouTube videos as I take a bath when a friend texts me about a party happening. I think I can get Cogman to go to the party for a couple of hours. I'm glad I packed my red dress even though I thought I wouldn't wear it when I packed it. Cogman knocks on the door. I knew he'd be wearing human clothes, but I wasn't expecting him to look so handsome.
"Are you ok?" He asks.
Scrap, my face must be red.
"I'm fine. Let's go."
We go to his car, an Aston Martin DB11. He asks me where we are going, and I tell him a party, but we can leave when he wants to.

I didn't think Cogman would lack chivalry when we got to the party unless he's only been a butler to men. I'm not sure how that worked. I wrap my arm around his arm, receiving a confused look.
The fact he asked what I was doing and I have to explain must mean he never butlered to woman - so I guess he's never been one to a family...

Cogman's P.O.V.
I can't believe I forgot about this after hundreds of years of being a butler. My job wasn't just around the men I had to protect. Maybe it's because I don't see (Y/N) as my master but a friend.

A song starts playing as we walk in, but people stop what they're doing and stare at me.
"It's ok," (Y/N) assures me, "I told my friend who told me about this party that you're coming."
"It's a party full of people who aren't pleased my kind are allowed to stay here, and after all the Autobots did, how disappointing."
"It's going to take time for people to adjust to seeing you guys around; it'll get better."
She leads me to the buffet table and grabs a bottle of wine.
"Want a drink?" She asks.
I refuse to drink alcohol and get water, watching the other people while (Y/N) talks to her friend.

(Y/N)'s P.O.V.
My friend seems happy Cogman came.
"Please don't tell me you threw this party for him?" I ask.
"Kinda, this was planned for next week; I took the chance and told everyone about this last-minute party rather than next week," (He/she) admits.
"I don't think we're staying for long. We already got disgusting looks, and as you can see, he does not like this."
As I walk up to Cogman, a new song plays.

"Have you ever danced?" I ask.
"Yes," he answers before taking my hand and leading me to the dance floor, "have you danced before?" He smiles.
"Not like this," I admit.
I'm able to follow his movements and not make a fool of myself. Before I know it, the other guests are watching us. Cogman doesn't seem to mind, or that I rest my head on his shoulder. It's surprisingly comfortable; did he really add shoulder padding?
"This is nice, but I think it's time to go home," Cogman suggests.

Cogman's P.O.V.
I can tell (Y/N) is getting tired. It's right at night. I can't help but think I need to take care of her. I can't ignore she's tired.

Even though she's tired, I drive to s cliff that's popular with couples on dates. We sit in the hood of the car.
"Did you have fun?" (Y/N) asks.
"I did, thank you."
The moon is full and bright, which means it's hard to see the stars. It's still a nice view. (Y/N) didn't last long before falling asleep on my chassis. I'm used to carrying children who were close to my height; carrying (Y/N) to her room isn't a problem — even if it's a half-mile to the castle. Oddly I want to carry her rather than drive back.

"You have to stop living in the past and live life to the fullest," she mumbles.
That was quick, dreaming already.

I don't think (Y/N) would appreciate it if I changed her into pajamas — even if sleeping in a dress has to be uncomfortable. I lay her down in bed and make sure she's covered.
"I know we haven't talked about it, but it would be my honor to be your butler, to protect you," I take my chance and kiss her, "tonight was lovely."
No way she'd be ok with me sleeping here, even on the chair. I leave the room, closing the door behind me.
