You just graduated with a degree in elementary school education. You want to teach on the island or the city close to the ferry docks, but it's looking like you might need to take a job much further away; until Cody suggests teaching the new recruits. How does it go?
(Y/N)'s P.O.V.
I just graduated college with a degree in elementary school teaching. I'm hoping to get a job on the island or the city by the ferry dock to easily visit my friends; the Burns' family, Doc Greene, and Frankie.
"How's the job search, (Y/N)?" Cody asks.
"Well, I should say great since I found a potion, but it's six hours away on the mainland. I was hoping to get a job in the city and come here on weekends," Cody doesn't say anything for a few minutes, "go ahead, Cody; I know you think bi should take the job."
"No, I think I have an idea. You've been so busy the past year and don't know a group of mini-cons came to Earth. Come on, let's go talk to Heatwave."
"Cody, I—."
"Trust me on this, (Y/N)."
As we walk through the ground bridge, I see so much has changed in the past year. This place has turned into a place for training.
"Cody, what brings you...(Y/N)?" Heatwave is surprised I'm here, "it's good to see you."
I let him pick me up. Heatwave isn't pleased school has kept me very busy the past year.
"...and I thought I was busy teaching."
"That's why I brought (Y/N) here today. Do you remember (he/she)'s been studying to be an elementary school teacher?"
Heatwave nods.
"I think (Y/N) can teach them about Earth, allowing you to prepare the lessons on being a rescue bot. They are like children, right?"
Heatwave agrees with this idea.
Heatwave's P.O.V.
The tricky part is figuring out what (Y/N) can teach the recruits. I think I will have the others take an assistant teacher role while (Y/N) is teaching.
"(Y/N) was here? Why didn't you tell me?!" Blades whines.
I explain to the others (Y/N) will be taking the role of headteacher at least for the summer. The others are happy to be taking more of an assistant teacher role.
Third-person P.O.V.
"A new teacher?! Awesome!" Hot Shot cheers.
"But we must be on our best behavior," Whirl reminds him.
Hot Shot sulks at Whirl, killing the mood.
Heatwave introduces the recruits to (Y/N) and tells them (he/she) will be doing most of the teaching with the rescue bots assisting for at least the next three months. Of course, he tells them to behave, and there will be consequences for not giving (Y/N) the same respect they show Heatwave and the others.
Chase takes his role as assistant perhaps a little too seriously but keeps the recruits from misbehaving. (Y/N) did learn a little about the police force while with Chase before going to university, and knows enough to teach the class. It's no surprise Whirl is closely paying attention. Chase continues to take on his role as an assistant teacher even though Boulder can during his class that (Y/N) is teaching.
(Y/N)'s P.O.V.
By the end of the day, I feel like I shouldn't be here. I know it's not because I'm human since they're friends with Cody, Doc Greene, and Frankie.
"I don't think they like I'm teaching," I tell Heatwave.
"They were rather disrespectful," Chase adds.
"I'll talk to them," Heatwave says and walks away.
It's been a few days since I tried to teach the recruits. Blades and Boulder have been staying at the bunker, enjoying time off with me.
Medix's P.O.V.
"If I can't teach them, how am I going to teach human kids?" We hear (Y/N) tell Boulder.
"We messed up," Whirl sighs.
"We should have treated that day as a review day," Wedge points out.
"Well, there's some good news with this situation," Cody says as he climbs down the ladder, "a teacher at the school on the island has decided to retire and is looking to get (Y/N) to replace them."
"Let's get them to come back to teaching us," I suggest.
"Then maybe they can teach us during weekends when they start work," Hot Shot adds.
We talk to Chase and Heatwave, who say they'll talk to (Y/N), but they can't make any promises.
(Y/N)'s P.O.V.
After my interview for the teacher position, I find Chase and Heatwave waiting for me in the parking lot. It's hard to believe the recruits want me back. I agree to go back to the academy, but uncertain if I'll teach for the summer.
The recruits apologize before Heatwave says, we're running an obstacle course; surprised I'm joining them.
"Consider it human gym class," I tell them.
Though someone else would be teaching gym class in a school, this was fun.
The recruits behave much better the rest of the day. I agree to continue teaching throughout the summer. Teaching on the weekends after a week teaching kids might not happen, but we'll see.
